The Scarsdale Tavern in Kensington and Chelsea

We had a lovely little dinner at the Scarsdale Tavern. I was happy to see the spring salad with quinoa, tomatoes, broad beans, chickpeas, and pumpkin seeds on the menu as the vegan option. It was a little smaller than I thought it was going to be, but it was very tasty. The service was quick and helpful with the menu and it seemed like they had some great specials for the night. We would definitely go back if we’re in the area again.

A decent pub with a beautiful exterior. Beers with my colleague, and sampled their scotch egg (lovely) and pork scratchings (sounded great, but way too salty).

How much does it cost to advertise on your website?

Had a couple drinks and a couple of burgers. Pride was lovely as to be expected, good wine. Burgers were nice and well stacked, although I believe the chips were frozen and not hand made which is I do not prefer.

Good pub. Has garden pub, great in the summer. They have heat lamps so they can keep you warm in the winter days. But do wrap up. Good selection of beers also.

Bar service as good - but expensive. Didn’t have food, so can’t comment. But the tables were pretty gross - unknowingly ended up with previous visitors food on my hands from touching the tables. Was a shame but a nice pub

Sadly I feel something has really changed at this pub. Staff used to be great and now waitress and bar staff are quite moody, one waitress’s vibes were just off! Also our group was told we couldn’t have the table we wanted as it was reserved… only to turn and see the manager eating at said table?! In plain sight of us. Not cool. Food was good though

Lovely spot in Kensington. Went for a business dinner as part of a trade show. Service was brilliant; very attentive, friend and professional. Food was excellent despite being very busy. The only criticism I can say is I ordered the 'Isle of Wight' tomatoes to start and knowing them well, I can confidently say they were definitely not tomatoes from the Isle of Wight.. That said, a very good evening with great food & service in a lovely traditional pub.

This is an absolutely lovely local pub. I only slightly decrease the rating for service because it is always very slow due to the small bar size relative to the amount of customers they have. I have only eaten here a couple of times. but all those times it has been very good for pub food. I haven't actually had the burger but I've heard great things about it (including from the tables next to me that had it). This is essentially a locals pub that caters to that particular market, as they should, but that can mean that if you're not part of that market, you may get a lesser experience. As long as you are not coming here, expecting to get served within 1 minute for each round you're getting or something like that. Then I would say, this is an excellent pub to spend an afternoon or evening relaxing in. There are plenty of tables to work at and plenty of chatty locals to strike up a conversation with, regardless of which is your preference. I have never had a bad experience here that was their fault. The worst thing that's happened to me is have them having no outside tables left, which obviously is not on them.

We were given great, friendly service as soon as we arrived at 12pm open. Food and drink was tasty with a portion size that was ideal, as both of us struggled to finish the last few bits! Great, quiet location in west Kensington. This was a lovely place to stop by for a midweek lunch and I'd come again!

Excellent pub. Perfect for a drink after work, lovely well maintained hanging baskets and range of beers on tap. It smelled of a Sunday roast when I walked in and later had a pie and mash which was brilliant.

This is a real English pub where the old-time atmosphere has been perfectly preserved. The ambiance is authentic, making you feel like you've stepped back in time. The food is fantastic—we thoroughly enjoyed our fish and chips, which were cooked to perfection. The entire setting adds to the charm. Highly recommended. Period.

Lovely pub with a marvellous outdoor terrace which gets busy in warm weather. Adults are still allowed to smoke there while enjoying a drink or some nice food. £13.55 for a pint of Cornish Orchards cider and a pint of Frontier lager.

Always a wonderful pub service and experience

We are locals and we had great expectations given the good reviews but we were left disappointed. The food was below average and the prices were much too expensive given the quality of the food.

A wonderful place - good selection of drinks and plenty of character.

Great service and awesome vibes! We went during their live performance night, and the singer was great! Ordered their fish and chips a classic, as well as their toffee pudding! I personally found the fish and chips huge, but it was worth every bite. it tasted delicious and very fresh! 10/10 would recommend!

My husband and I recently spent a weekend in London and booked dinner in the Scarsdale one evening. The atmosphere was great all ages are there, as well as some four legged friends, everyone is welcome. We had a lovely young man looking after us, Loren who could not have been more pleasant and efficient. My husband had steak and I has fish and chips both were delicious. We will definitely be back.

I don’t know why it took me over fifteen years to review our favourite Pub. Or Dog Pub. The atmosphere is wonderful. Especially during the weekend when the number of dogs is competing with the number of hoomans. The staff is always lovely and they all love dogs. Rexy, my DoggieDog always drags me to the Pub! I have had many beers just to keep her happy! I did not have any food in a long time so I cannot comment on this topic. They also invite a really good musician, Tom Jaworski. The Summer Party this year was a delight! Even the doggies were dancing!

Not many places serve a lamb roast and offer a large tender fall off the bone cut. Quite busy on a Sunday afternoon but they managed to squeeze us in and informed us on when they needed the table back. Food was exquisite and service matched that too. Couldn’t have asked for more. Bloody Mary was large with a good kick! Recommend. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Lovely restaurant near our hotel. Staff was excellent and made us feel at home. We had their Sunday roast, delicious! And then came back a second night for their burger. Can’t go wrong with this tavern.

My niece and me visited this lace for dinner. We enjoyed the meal very much. The food was very tasty, the service was very friendly and the atmosphere was lively.

The Scarsdale is my new favourite pub!! It’s a hidden gem off the main street, with a lovely friendly atmosphere, which still feels like a locals pub but so welcoming to all! To top it up, the food is DELICIOUS! I’ve been back a few times for the lamb shoulder roast already, have taken friends and family and everyone can’t believe we haven’t been there before! The wine list is diverse and offer great options for all tastes and budgets, ask what are their newly added wines as they’ve surprised me with the most organic wine recently! If you’re there, may as well just try the fish&chips and scotch egg!! Grateful for the lovely stuff that are super friendly ❤️ cheers to more pubs like this one!

Easily one of my favourite pubs in London! Gorgeous classic interior, beautiful flowers all over the front and the MOST delicious food. All the people who work there are super friendly and there was fun live music on Wednesday! Loved it all. How do you give 6 stars?

Went for the Sunday roast and was not disappointed.

Our evening at The Scarsdale Tavern, 15/07/2024 summarised: The premises were decked out with many flowers in boxes and hanging baskets -- attractive. The Staff were polite, welcoming and cheerful. We met up with a very dear and long-standing couple -- friends who live in Switzerland and had chosen our rendezvous as the "Best of British". Unfortunately, that was all that was good! At the bar, I asked for ESB, to which the barmaid replied "What's that -- I've never heard of it?" OK. So we were going to have to have the Fullers "League 2" London Pride. I ordered 2½ pints and a glass of red wine. "That's £27, cash or card?" Recovering from the full Victor Meldrew (I can't beeelieeve it!!), we proceeded to drink – slowly, at that price – and an hour later sat down at our table. The food? Disappointing is hardly an adequate description! Who thinks Focaccia is simply a piece of dry plain toast? Fish and chips – like an “Iceland” Ready meal? Chicken Milanese – simply a re-formed chicken fritter, as from Mr. Bird’s Eye, served up with a lump of half-cooked cabbage? It’s not the “English Way” to complain – so we didn’t. We just paid and left. But with the thought that how we wish we had gone to our local “Woodenspoons” where the food and the beer is better – and at ¼ of the price! Sorry if you think I’m being blunt – but that’s how the four of us felt – we shall not be returning!

We did not eat so we could not taste food. However, we stopped in on a walk back to our hotel on a beautiful, warm, summer evening. We had just gotten drinks when they came out and said everyone needed to be inside because it was 10:30 on a weeknight. It is in a residential neighborhood, so we understood, but it was the way the staff cattle called us to get inside. Not my favorite place although had a lot of curb appeal. Two double drinks were £33.

Got recommended by the Church after performance, it was really a relief after playing. Ale was amazing🍺 and best chips ever 🍟

I found this pub after searching great pubs in London. The pub 100% deserved a place in that selection as it had great surroundings, which included lots of plants and flowers. The outside seating area was nice for drinks and the inside better if you have food. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. The food was also fantastic. We had the fish and chips that came with curry sauce, crushed peas, tartare sauce and was massive. The drinks and food were reasonably priced and good quality. If you do visit which I recommend, you will 100% need to book as it was busy and we went on a Monday.

Unexpected little find on a quite street. Posh tavern so prices reflect it. Lovely atmosphere with nice, joyful decor of flowers and traditional tavern look. Service is reasonable considering it is busy. The food was outstanding - the roast melted in the mouth. Great place.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon for some food and drink. Excellent pints of Gamma Ray and the fish & chips was delicious. The atmosphere both inside and out was ideal.

Great local pub, with excellent service and food. The menu has been enhanced and includes some nice additions, we had the braised beef pie and fish & chips, both were excellent and went very well with a couple of beers. Was quite busy in the evening, but we were lucky to get a table outside in the terrace, which was just perfect. They had live music and there was a great vibe in the place once this got started. Nice to see a busy pub that still has great service and friendly staff!

Very slow service. Ordered gaspacho which tasted like it had gone off and there was a mix up in our order (to be fair could have been our error for not being g specific enough) but “hasselback courgettes” came out as two nearly raw long courgettes just sitting in a pink sauce with sorry for itself red peppers. Would not recommend.

This pub is in the suburban heart of Kensington. The staff are polite and efficient and the food is of good quality. There is plenty of local history here. Much of it over the walls. A nice quiet place away from the main drag.

This is a lovely pub in a very nice area of London. On a 2 week trip recently, we were in this pub's area on two evenings and having stumbled across it the first time, and loving it, decided to stop by a second time while walking in the area. The food is really good. The menu is a little limited, but the quality and service are outstanding. The pub is pretty small with a dedicated full service dining area to the back and a self service pub area at the front. On weekends it's really advisable to call ahead and reserve. We were really lucky to be able to walk in and get a table without a reservation. the staff squeezed us in the first night and it was well worth it. The only reason we didn't go back a 3rd time was that it was a bit far from our hotel. Do yourself a favour and go to this pub.

This place was our absolute favourite London dining experience. The pub was beautiful and had a cozy feel to it. The staff were awesome and the food was amazing. We loved everything that we got. It is the place to be in the evenings so reservations are the way to go. It was so good we tried to go again but unfortunately couldn't get it. 10 out of 10 experience.

Great food and service, beautiful setting , you have to book to secure a table. It’s a very popular spot so be prepared for a little bit of noise from the people talking but you won’t regret eating or drinking there. It’s a definite MUST!

The sea bass was beautifully cooked. Service was friendly and professional and the atmosphere is great.

This is my local.. well, it’s my dog’s local for sure. We cannot walk past The Scarsdale without my human fearing mutt wanting to pop in and say hello to the staff & patrons & get her obligatory treat at the bar! The haunt of the neighbourhood, you get a decent smattering of visitors who’ve heard of the Scars and it’s all joyous publican chaos with plenty of mutts in the bar area, though not of course in the dining room. Dog friendly, beer friendly and with a decent wine selection - it’s a fun scene altogether if it’s a neighbourhood vibe you’re going for in W8.

Every time I go to London I make sure I take friends to the Scarsdale as I have always loved it. However, this time it was very disappointing mainly because they started playing really loud music so much so that we couldn't even have a conversation! I believe it's under new management which is unfortunate if they are making these type of decisions. We won't be back in a hurry that's for sure!

I had the pleasure of dropping in to this bar for dinner at about 7pm and having The prawn starter followed by fish and chips, both of which were absolutely delightful. And if this wasn't enough it was also good value in terms of price. It is rare to find pub food that exceeds expectations in this way, hence my writing the review. The meal was complimented by excellent attentive service and the range of drinks was more than sufficient. I managed two pints of Guinness and glass of red with my meal. The bar was clean and there was a nice buzz in the bar and outside on the terrace. This was my first visit and I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Quaint neighborhood pub with all the dark wood trim that you would expect from a quaint neighborhood pub. It was nicely crowded when I visited. They weren't showing the footie match, so I left and went to Crownfield Pub. Happy London everyone!

The food was really delicius, tipically British. The fish and chips really good and big. Classic british pub to drink something and eat good food. There are a lot of beer. There are kids menu for children. The service was great and really polite.

What made it better than some other pubs are the staff every all of them were friendly, helpful and happy to serve. I and three others meet once a month all retired from working in London so we know a few pubs. This was our first visit to The Scarsdale Tavern and all of use agreed it the best pub we have visited for service, quality and value. Very highly recommended

Everything is delicious. It has quality. 2024.3 I came here for lunch. Unlike at night, the seats were empty and the staff were all kind and we had a very pleasant time. The food is so great. Next time I would like to order something different than usual.

Nice little pub with a solid pint of Guinness. 4* as a pint is almost £7

I loved this place after our first visit so we thought why not spending our Sunday lunch here again. But we were left disappointed. We were blown away by their fall out of bone lamb leg the first time so of course we are going to order again. Not only did the cut have changed, the taste has as well. It is dried but fatty - I did not enjoyed it. However their Yorkshire pudding is still very yummy We also ordered two pints as we sat down and the staff was so kind to offer us a taster. There might have been an misunderstanding on what we want - the staff wrote down the wrong one. when it’s delivered by the other staff, we politely said that it’s not what we wanted only for him to tell us “well that’s whats written on my paper.” Of course he had to go check with the staff that made the order and after we confirmed it, she has gotten the right one. On our first visit, the staff (we believe she’s might be an owner) noticed that she got us the wrong one before even delivering it to our table, she go ahead and offer us the wrong one for free. Big difference on both times. Mistakes happens but the attitude makes a big difference.

This place has normal food and good service but great atmosphere. The perfect music for drinking a pint as well as the friendly staff makes this place a hot spot for a night out with the mates so i definitely recommend this place for any pub lover.

This place is such a hidden gem. My friends live nearby and suggested we go and I'm so glad we did. Was pretty empty for a Friday night - which I love - and we got a table easily. Chilled out pub vibes with a younger than expected clientele, and somehow their house wine was £5 which is unheard of!

My favorite Pub in Kensington area!

The Scarsdale is off the beaten track in Kensington, well away from all the traffic. It's not next to the Tube. We went on a Friday evening for dinner so naturally it was very popular/ bit noisy and full of atmosphere which I like. We had to book. The eating is in a separate section of the pub. Food was very good , service was timely and friendly.
