The Pembroke in Kensington and Chelsea

This pub cancelled our group Xmas booking without any explanation and at very short notice. Luckily we found another venue to accommodate a large number, but I was shocked at their lack of transparency or apology considering we’d booked 10 months in advance. Shocking customer service from them!!!9

A nice, not too busy, small trad pub in Earls Court. The food was good. We had 2 small plates; Halumi and chicken tacos.

I think we probably visited on an unfortunate evening, but there were only two main course options - fish and chips or burger. I chose the fish, which was decent but nothing special. On the plus side, the service was excellent. Our waiter was warm, friendly and explained the limitations of the menu clearly. Top marks!

Beautiful and nice place! A nice break with its little terrace in the heart of London! And a neat and classy decor! I highly recommend if you are in the area!

Came in today for lunch,Mary service was Lovely,the meal was really nice.

Opening time said 4 was waiting outside the pub for 10 minutes, the only staff-member working was very rude blunt and hostile towards me and my fiancé. She come outside and I asked if they was open yet as it was past the opening time she said not yet. I then had to wait 10 minutes and I finally come inside and ask if they was open yet she says yes but has happy not to inform me this before hand. I ask for my order and she IDs me and my fiancé, my fiancée was carrying ID I wasn’t and proceeded to claim i work at another metropolitan pub as a head chef and had all proof available to show her. I am 25 and have been drinking at this pub since i have turned 18. I waited to speak with her further about the matter but she took ages to make two cocktails for the only other two people in the pub. This staff member looked really disinterested and like she didn’t want to be there.

Amazing flavour! So unexpected! I was in here for some leaving drinks in a Friday afternoon and I was more than peckish. The ordered the sirloin steak sandwich with a side of chips. It came to a total of £19.50. My mate had exactly the same. It took a while to come out, longer than we expected but when it did, it was well worth the wait. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare and the chips were amazing. The overall flavour was incredible and it was very filling. So pleased we ordered it. Well done chef! I think you should just stop reading now and trust the star rating and go in. All five star and price was to. Staff in the picture also brill.

Love this spot! The food is great and the atmosphere is laid back and approachable. The staff is amazing too and they always have a few treats ready for my dog.

Took Friend out for the football and we always eat seomwhere before the game. Booked this (well in advance) as havent been there before and all seemed fine. A week before booking I got a message telling me that the booking was on during a football game (which I was well aware of) which I promptedly responded that we were all indeed Chelsea Fans and had ticket, so entry shouldnt be a problem. Twice more this same contact was made. Seems to be very interested in making sure we were home fans. Anyways, all was good until we turned up for out table and found that the kitchen was closed. Noone informed us and therefore it was too late to book anywhere else for lunch. What an absolete joke and wont be returning to somewhere with such poor thought and service

I had a great experience at this place. The service was very good, the food arrived quickly and was very tasty. The space is well maintained and the bathrooms are very clean. I recommend!

Wanted food at 9:30pm, states kitchen is open until 10pm. Quite night couldn’t be bothered to serve food it seems. Shame.

Made sure to take a train home from Bristol to arrive in time for food…got to the pub at at 21:30 as the pub’s Google profile says the kitchen closes at 22:00, but was told the kitchen was already closed (and the staff didn’t offer any explanation when asked why) :(

The wait staff was honest and helpful. The rooftop garden was decorated nicely and covered from the breeze. The food was also very good! Fish and chips and Chicken Kiev dinners.

Went here as heard new menu had launched. Had the baked camembert and it was delish. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Will definitely be back next time in the area.

I hoped for this to become my new neighbourhood local. However, I was just turned away at the door for not being a Chelsea fan. And the match is due to start only in 3 hours… Will make sure to go elsewhere from now on. And just for clarity, I’m not a football fan non stop. And the plan was to catch up with a friend for a single drink.

In an earlier review I was a bit unfair as the atmosphere in the pub really improved as the night went on and the pub attracted a good bunch of people. We didn’t have a meal as we'd eaten elsewhere, but the food looked and smelled very good. However when we came into the pub it was quiet and I thought the draught beer was poor so had to go onto Peroni

Me and a group of friends visited the site for a pre-theater drinks. We had an amazing time. It was fairly busy and the service was very smooth and we got great drinks recommendations from the manager herself. We don't live in London but we came for a show in nearby theater. We have joined another group of guests for post theater drinks at The Pembroke as the manager swiftly managed to organize a space for few of us at the last minute which we though it was an amazing gesture. We really recommend this place as it's only few short minutes walking distance from the Finsborough Theater. We hope to return very soon.

The best pub in London! The food and drinks are fantastic and the service from bar staff is impeccable! Highly recommend if you are out and about in Earl's Court!

The experience has been very poor. It was 3 of us for a pre-theatre quick dinner. We ordered food (burgers and starters) at 6.20, only one arrived, by 7 the other two had not arrived. Another friend ordered food at 6.30, by 7.10 it had not arrived. I asked one of the staff if she could check for the food, she said the kitchen had no order pending and wouldn't believe me we had ordered and paid, I offered to show her my bank statement, but she wouldn't look at it. It took several times and insistence with her to "prove" we had paid, she finally got convinced and explained bar and kitchen are different business and the kitchen had lost three out of the four orders. No apology was made which I found quite unprofessional. I asked if she was going to give me a free drink for the inconvenience but declined saying it is not the bar's responsibility. I asked who the manager was, but found out she was, so I didn't pursue this further as it was pointless. Now the bad thing isn't really the loss of three out of four food orders (although 75% is a very poor record!), but the behaviour of the manager not being accountable for mistakes in her own workplace. It is not my concern how the bar and kitchen are organised, she should just have listened, looked at my receipt, figured out what was happening, and apologised. I think a nice sign of customer attention was in order, but evidently she is not trained properly. I am pretty horrified that this pub is having someone like this work as a manager. For sure I will not go back as the likelihood of this happening seems high (75% record). The other ladies behind the bar were instead very nice and understanding. My burger finally arrived, it was pretty small for the price, sadly i had to eat it in five minutes so I could not really appreciate the taste of it.

We have been going and enjoying sunday roast many times at The Pembroke before we had our 1st baby ( 6 months now ) and since. We never had an issue until we asked for a glass of Proseco which was offered last Sunday for Mother 'day ( my partner 1st mothr day and we were with our baby ). Per the attched picture ( from Pembroke own website ) we had to book to get one glass of prosecco, but the General Manager ( Zoe) said , the booking had to be made 24 hours before mother's day ( we did our booking on mothers day). Zoe said she was told verbally about the 24 hours and nothing in writing was put for her or the customer to show the 24 h restriction. We point out to the pembroke website and she said it should have been booked on the 2nd March?! I believe she confused the ( 2) for the 2 events in March with '2nd' march . Anyway Zoe ( general manager) refused serving one glass of prosecoo to a new mother , also a loyal customer. Even the 2 othes ladies working there ( after looking at our booking + the Pembrook website about mother day ) understood and seem embarrassed but said their manager was against it . Very sad and disapointing and apparently Zoe does not have a line manager , as she refused to give us any name on who to report the incident to.

We (11 people) chose the Pembroke pub as pre theatre drink/bite. We got there at 6.20pm we ordered food at 6.30pm. To 3 of us food arrived after 20 mins, super good BUT for all the others after 40 mins food still had not arrived. We asked the waitress and the only answer I had was..I am not sure what is happening in the kitchen.No apologies no justifications and the only thing she added was..kitchen is a separate bill, we are responsible for drinks only. EXCUSE ME? I SAID:you took my money therefore you are responsible. Her answer was: not here! They refunded me the food saying...it will take 4 days for the money to go into your Bank. Really!! Totally disappointed, unorganised and certainly I would not recommend it if you have a party.

Once the renounced Coleherne Quite a change Roast lamb meal was delightful eaten in a well laid out dining area ( see photos) Disabled toilet available with out having to negotiate steps a god send .

The Pembroke is a decent bar on the Old Brompton Road near Earls Court. Super huge TV upstairs for sports. Food is also good. Recommended.

It’s sad to see how much this historical pub has fallen in the past few years. Busy only on Chelsea match day. Alienating client neighbours by frequently having loud fire alarm ringing all night. Manager Ivona doesn’t seem to care. Customer service from Green King didn’t call back. Please do a huge favour to the community and sell it to a new company, more caring and passionate about running it.

Trivia was great!! Service was so so. You have to order your drinks and food at the bar, although no one tells you this upon arrival. Food was tasty. Pub quiz was worth the visit, otherwise unremarkable.

Nice place at the back of the bar. Warm welcoming. You order at the bar and you just sit to get your food. Menu is simple but more than enough and prices are good too. Large selection of beer. Perfect place to rest after a long walking day within London. The reservation process is aparently not working properly. Despite a formal e-mail and a separate confirmation, the reservation was not known when showing up. Fortunately we got a table anyway.

Jolie salle à l'arrière du bar. Accueil sympathique. On commande au bar et on s'installe. La carte est simple mais suffisante et les prix sont très corrects. Bonne sélection de bières. Très agréable endroit après une longue journée dans Londres.

My favourite pub in London by far. Food and the bar is perfect for the solo traveller and group a like. Don’t underestimate the friendless of this pub in staff and clientele. It’s one to go out your way for.

A large, traditional pub. It's clearly a great place to go to watch sport, particularly Chelsea games. If you don't want loud commentary during a match, you can retreat to the back room, which is primarily a dining room. They have a reasonable range of beers.

THE BEST RIBS IN LONDON !!!!!! Just cannot explain how good the food is at this pub. Family of 4 with two children ages 7 &11 both thoroughly enjoyed their pizzas and ice cream. The ribs were amazing, so tasty!!! We also had a portion of the chicken wings and these also were a 10/10!! Prices were very reasonable too highly recommend, we will definitely be returning. The pub its self is very welcoming, and enjoyed watching the footy on the sofas up stairs after eating. A++++

Great roast for a pre-game meal on a Sunday

Needed a quick meal and this was a perfect fit. We just made it in before the kitchen closed and they were happy to serve us. Had the shawarma and the whitebait. The kiddo had the chicken tenders. All were very good, but the chips were the best we have ever had in London.

Utterly shambolic service: - Arrived for Sunday brunch; took the waiter 5 mins to find our table despite our name being written on it - He forgot to give us any menus, so we had to go and find them ourselves - He didn't come back to take our order so we eventually had to go and find him 20 mins later. When he finally came to our table, the first thing he said was "do you have a booking?" - despite having sat us there himself - He didn't know how to use their ordering machine (we had to show him ourselves). He then refused to take our drinks order - told us we had to go to the bar and get it ourselves! The woman at the bar was utterly unapologetic ("we've had 2 people not show up, you should be thankful for those of us who have") - He tried to serve us pizza 3 times - we hadn't ordered any pizza. After eventually serving us the correct food, he didn't bring us any cutlery - we had to go and get it ourselves - When paying, he had the audacity to ask whether we wanted to tip (we did not) I am honestly gobsmacked at how laughably poor this experience was - I can only advise to avoid this place like the plague, there are plenty of pubs in the area willing to provide a good level of service. I recommend the Atlas just down the road.

Enjoyed our first Sunday roast at The Pembroke while on holiday from America. We were absolutely blown away … everything was prepared perfectly, and tasted spectacular. To have a meal like this in the U.S., we would expect to pay $$$. Would eat here on the daily if we could!

Highly recommended!! This pub is down the street from the flat we rented for the week. We LOVE the Pembroke! Great staff! Good food, live music on certain days. They also have a trivia game nights on Thursday. Very fun atmosphere with people of all ages. Also very affordable. Will definitely be frequenting when in the area.
