The Scarecrow Coffee in North Tyneside

Living in the area I have seen this shop change hands a couple of times so wasn't sure quite what to expect when I popped in a couple of months ago for a take out coffee on a day off. Delightfully surprised with the vast range of delicious coffees and savoury/sweet treats. The Turkish coffee+Turkish Delight+Baklava is worth a trip alone, likewise so is the Turkish Bagel. It's quirky and unique, clearly very popular with the locals. My only slight critique is your recently increased prices, so be careful not to price yourself out of the market as the cost of living works both ways. Otherwise, please stay in Monkseaton!

First visit yesterday and will not be my last. Cool vive and great coffee. Next time will try something to eat. Thoroughly recommend

Cosy coffee shop in the heart of Monkseaton. Friendly staff, good service and excellent choice of coffee. My go to place.

Today is the first time I have been to The Scarecrow and it certainly won’t be the last. What a gem of a place. Fabulous variety of coffees and teas, wonderful looking food, extremely friendly staff, a warm, welcoming atmosphere and there is so much to look at! The eclectic decor and collection of interesting objects is absolutely charming. Coming here has made my day!

I have visited the Scarecrow many times now with family and friends and it is by far our favourite local coffee shop. Great coffee and food served by friendly and attentive staff in a very relaxed setting where you would be happy to spend many hours chatting and enjoying a drink. Dog friendly and even our large Greyhound who has a habit of lying in the most awkward of places is always welcome. I look forward to visiting again soon and spending many hours relaxing in the Scarecrow.

Been here a few times now, either on my own or with friends or family. Very polite staff, dog friendly and I’m obsessed with the Amaretto Coffee 😊 very happy. Also the food and cakes are delicious.

What a fabulous find, so relaxing, space to really enjoy your coffee in peace. Service was one of the best so far in Whitley Bay, felt they really related to you as a person rather than just a customer to process. Will definately return.

My second review of this little gem of a coffee shop. It’s everything I want a coffee shop to be. A friendly warm welcome, comfortable seating, great service, what I consider to be the best coffee in the area, and a good selection of sweet and savoury things to eat. Add the laid-back vibe, eclectic decor and wifi; It’s got it all. Dog friendly too. I almost hesitate to recommend The Scarecrow because I don’t want it so busy I can’t get in.

Lovely friendly place. My favourite place to stop for coffee. My husband and son have also tried the cakes and lunches and say they are delicious too. All the memorabilia scattered around brings back great memories but the best thing about the place is definitely the staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome

Me and my other half popped in as our usual haunt was shut great coffee and cheery service really nice staff.We will be back.

Nice coffee and very nice people who run the place. Always friendly to us and our dogs and the coffee is always great. They have massively improved this place since taking it over and it's now a real gem in Monkseaton.

First visit since it became Scarecrow. I’m impressed. Really friendly service. Outstanding coffee (cortado) and a delicious hot scone with proper jam. Ecclectic decor. Superb little place. Deserves to do well.

My wife and I dropped in here recently for coffee and cake both of which were really good however it was the exemplary service that really made this place stand out. Nothing was too much trouble and my wife conformed they were the same recently when she popped in for takeaway coffee. Cannot wait to go back.
