On a cold and very windy night we decided to pop into No.14 for a quick drink before heading home. This restaurant was so warm, festive and inviting that we stayed quite some time enjoying a lovely bottle of red wine and delicious tapas whilst the kids enjoyed hot chocolate and marshmallows. The staff are extremenly friendly and make great food/drink suggestions which are all priced very reasonably. All in all it made for a very relaxed and enjoyable evening. We’ll definitely be back soon!

We are quite regular (and very happy!) customers during the week when we have breakfasts but today we chose to have our lunch there for a change. What a delight! As with breakfasts, front of house was very ably controlled by Kath. The menu was interesting and my wife and I were delighted with our choices. We really can't speak too highly of No 14. It was already one of our two top favourites for breakfast in the area and now it has broadened out to cover potential lunches. All we need to do now is check out the evening bistro!!The welcome is great for everyone, as is the service, and the prices are very reasonable considering the high quality of everything. If you live locally - or even distantly - and haven't tried No 14, you should!!

After a nice day sightseeing and enjoying the amazing shores and the castle, we were looking for somewere to eat. So then we stumbled on to no.14 a nice cosy restaurant with a beautyfull location. The servers were verry nice and i really enjoyed the meal. I had a delicious hamburger. Prices were just like you could expect for a location like that. I really liked it and if i ever visit England again, i'd really love to return here. Great Dutch compliments to the chef!

An old fashioned egg & tomato sarnie with salad cream - but no sand! Perfect. We asked for sourdough instead of a roll which was readily offered. And home cut chips - naughty but heavenly!!The lunch menu had plenty of options. Soup always freshly made. Lentil is my fave. Usual jolly welcome. Nothing a bother. Sat in sun out front today. What could be better?

I rarely give negative feedback but found this so underwhelming.mAs a family of four , 2 wanted soup but we were told that they had sold out! Strange that it was lunch time and no planning for the day.The restaurant and outdoor seating area looks attractive. Unfortunately the food is only average. Jacket potatoes served in bowls with no salad or garnish, and "homemade beans" I'm pretty sure we're out of a tin! Overpriced. The Greek salad was good though.

Booked the afternoon tea for a family meet-up but Was left feeling underwhelmed by it. Although It was nice that’s all it was-nice and not the occasion we’d hoped for. We were asked brown or white bread for our sandwiches, all of us asked for brown, yet we all got white seeded buns, and the scones came with jam and cream but no butter? When I went to pay I mentioned that two of us would be back in for supper the next evening, then I was asked ‘are you sure’ explained it’ had been booked a few month previous as our original booking for May was cancelled at the last minute by one of their staff because they’d forgot they had a wedding party in . Then I was told we couldn’t be booked in because it was a Monday and they only Open from Wednesday onwards. Considering we had travelled for nearly 3hrs to make the afternoon tea booking and were slotting in the next days evening meal during a stopover, we left feeling dismayed. Sadly will not return

What a great little Bistro/Tapas Bar, the food is excellent as is the wine. We’ve been going to try No 14 for several weeks now and tonight we finally got our act together and we were not disappointed. This venue was booked by my wife for an afternoon birthday tea for myself and the rest of the family. We had the upstairs area which was so quaint and relaxing and made the experience perfect. The food was exceptional and we started with Prosecco some beautiful home made soup an assortment of rustic sandwiches and quiche, we then had fruit scones with jam and clotted cream. If this wasn’t enough we also had a choice of home made Victoria sponge and chocolate fudge cake with tea and coffee. The staff were extremely helpful throughout and could never do enough for us all. Suitable to all ages and enjoyed by all. Very recommended and we will be returning. Thank you to Joanne and her team for making the afternoon perfect.

Called in again as it was half term and not only did I enjoy the great array of cakes and quality coffee last time but the kids who are notoriously picky loved the sweet treats from the fridge! Cafe very busy with every table occupied so the delicious cakes and other menu items (the bacon sandwiches seemed to be popular) are clearly well regarded! Good to see that the team had noted our last comments about hand washing after canine clients however still disappointed by the team themselves and some if the conversations - arguing amongst themselves from the kitchen which was audible as well as complaining about the busyness and number of customers - surely being popular in a a good thing?!? This manifested and extended to slamming of cutlery drawers and fridges, slamming of the phone when being placed back on it's charger and banging of orders when placed on tables and just a frosty atmosphere from the FOH staff to the point my son was frightened to ask them for some more ketchup for his sandwich as he didn't want to get shouted at!! The quality of the food and refreshments is definitely the saving grace for what otherwise is a great addition to the town centre.
