The Sandwich Stop in Leicester

The shop is never open as per Google maps' opening times. Twice I've come, the second time at 1:15pm, and it was closed both times. The phone number goes right to voicemail. No timings mentioned on the storefront either. Unreliable service.

What’s with the wrong opening times. Got there according to online opening times and the place is shut. Well annoying.

A rare visit as changing trains at Leicester, but with an hour to kill and breakfast called. Since my last visit a new owner has taken over and I enjoyed my sausage and bacon cob with a mug of tea. All very nice and cracking value. A great start to a bank holiday Friday away day. Recommended.

Easily the worst breakfast I have had in my life. Had a breakfast where we were given toast, which was already buttered and cut by the staff member, he might as well have eaten it for us while he was at it. Secondly, the sausages and rashers were barely cooked, with everything Thown onto the plate. The staff member asked did we want milk in our tea and put it in himself, he might as well have drank it. After about one bite of a sausage we had eaten enough, and left straight away. A truly horrible experience which I will remmeber for the rest of my life, would probably be in hospital if I had eaten the full thing. I’m not sure how this business is still open, it should be shut down with immediate effect. I am turned off toast for life.

Absolutely delicious good size baguette cooked to perfection I would definitely order again.

This I must say is a cracking little find. Not to far from the train station. A small and welcoming cafe. This is the 3rd time we have visited this little gem and next time we visit Leicester we will go again. We both had the breakfast me large TOH small. The make a point that the meat is grilled not fried which brings a different texture. The eggs are lovely the yolk so full of flavour. Can't wait to go back.

Support for great independent cafes like these is needed but only when they deserve it and these guys certainly do. No need to pay silly money for hotel breakfasts when there are great little places like this. Two extremely friendly and pleasant gents running it when I visited, which added to the experience. Add in a decent cuppa and a tasty and keenly priced breakfast and the day seems so much better. Support you local independents I say. Well done gents, highly recommended.

Great local cafe. Cooked breakfast including 4 halves of toast for a fiver. Friendly chatty hosts. oh and best americano I've had for ages! None of that watery chain stuff here!

Eat lunch here most days when in the office. Food is freshly made to order and tasty. Staff are awesome too very polite and friendly.

First time ever visiting today, after searching around for a quality but well priced breakfast i stumbled upon this cafe. Cant fault the speed of service or the friendliness of the staff. The breakfast was overall very loverly and speaking as a vegetarian i really enjoyed the whole breakfast. The boxes/presentation almost made the breakfast look small at first but after tucking in i was surprised at how much it filled me up! The only downside was the sausages, although very nice i would’ve hoped for quorn or any other meat like brand. As the price point was such good value i cant really find any faults at all. Defiantly deserve 5 stars! Will return again and Would defiantly recommend!

Hello. I don't know if you will remember us because we ate breakfast only a few times. However, we remember them very nice because they were always very tasty. Recently (before Christmas) we have received from you a large box of cookies, which we ate only a few days ago. We already had tickets for the beginning of April (me and my wife are Leicester supporters, and I was also invited by you to learn golf) and unfortunately the pandemic did not allow us to come and bring a present from us. We miss a visit to England and especially to Leicester with a compulsory breakfast at your place. However, we are worried about the COVID-19 situation in England. In Poland it is not so dangerous yet, but the data provided is not reliable and the number of cases is growing! Please write if you are okay with health, because probably not with business. We were looking for somewhere to order breakfast from during the current Coronavirus lockdown. We ordered two breakfast baguettes to be delivered by Uber Eats. I have always been a bit sceptical about ordering breakfast for delivery as it normally turns up lukewarm, soggy and greasy but this was absolutely gorgeous and could not have been bettered. We shall definitely order again and pay them a visit when this lockdown ends.

Fantasic, the food is second to non, i have had a breakfast delivered and i can not will not complain the food it beautiful. If i was to say a negative it wouldnt be about the food. It would be great if you can do hot drinks for delivery but thats a minor, its took me seconds to brew up so no dramas. Highly highly recommend!!

What a lovely little gem Leicester have. We were looking for somewhere to have for breakfast and littery stumplled accross this gem. From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. I had the full breakfast and TOH had the small breakfast. Must say one of the best breakfast we ever had.They grill all the meat not fry.

Had a great experience at the 'The Sandwich Stop' on Friday. Ordered a hash cheese sandwich with a caramel latte which were both great. The five star review was for the personable nature of the staff who were very friendly. I had a stain on my suit before an interview and one of the staff helped remove it - service going above and beyond. I highly recommend this small independent cafe to anyone in the local area!

By far my favourite cafe to visit when in Leicester city centre. Amazing food, clean and amazing staff that make the place feel like home. Can not explain how good this place is.

A good friendly welcome into a very clean cafe. Plenty to choose from and the quality of food excellent and prices good as well. Would happily call there on a regular basis, when you find somewhere good, use it!

Always delicious. Perfect place to grab something for lunch if you work in the city. I highly recommend the grilled halloumi wrap with sweet chilli sauce. Their sausage baps are amazing too. Always friendly and acxomadating to any requests that might slightly differ from the options on the menu.
