The Sandwich Shop in Suffolk Coastal

This is the GF mecca of Woodbridge, selection of 4 types of bread and fresh ingredients to make this the ideal place fo delicious sandwiches.

Every time I come in for lunch, I am never disappointed. The portions sizes are incredible for the value, with very reasonable prices. Fillings always lovely, tasty, good quality and well made. Every combination I've ever had has always been spot on. Who needs a meal deal when you have this gem in the middle of the thoroughfare. Loyal customer forever!

The annual Suffolk visit means a trip to Woodbridge and the Sandwich Shop. The shop has been decorated and has had a slight remodel (not much) but there’s no doubt that the shop looks fresher even with what is a darker colour. Sadly the remodelling has seen the removal of the bar stools at the shallow bar at the window and the china cups given way to disposable, though recyclable, cups. Whilst you can no longer sit inside the shop - which is a shame - there are a couple of small tables outside instead. Once again I had a cheeseburger, freshly cooked, and very tasty in their bread roll too - very tasty. Albeit Monday, new member of ‘Saturday girl’ (no offence intended but of course I don’t know your name) was pleasant and, being guided by a more experienced member, was interested to learn. All still very much recommended, so go and grab yourself a bite to eat.

This place is the best sandwich shop, we stumbled upon it when looking for a spot for lunch; my wife and I come here every time we come to Woodbridge. I have tried several of the fillings and can’t decide which is the best (though the jerk chicken is up there). My wife swears by the chicken tikka - despite the obvious quality of the food and the always fresh bread, it is very reasonable too - we can’t find a single fault - brilliant place. You can’t eat in but when the weather is nice there are a few seats out the front.

Little to add to earlier wholly positive reviews; I had another of their fresh-cooked burgers with a coffee. Sadly, due to Covid and shop re-modelling it seems one can no longer sit in the window (where there were two or three bar stools at a shallow bar) when you could enjoy your sandwich or whatever with coffee from a china cup, but don't let that put you off. Still worth a visit.

i visit the sandwich shop almost every morning before school, it makes me late every time, but its just so leng i cant resist. 5 star rating, would recommend.

Not really a lot to add from previous positive experiences. Sat in the window with another nice tasty burger and a coffee. Try them.

Very tasty sandwiches and baguettes made fresh to order. Friendly staff. Good choice of fillings. Would recommend and would go back for more if visiting Woodbridge again.

Stopped off at Woodbridge on the way to other places and this time had a cheeseburger. I wasn't disappointed - big and juicy and very tasty, cooked to order. I was asked if I wanted grated or processed cheese (where else would you get that choice?). I chose grated. Accompanied by a coffee, it was money well spent.

Finding myself once again in Norfolk/Suffolk, I had another coffee and bacon sandwich from The Sandwich Shop. Little else I can add to my other reviews, expect to say that yet again you won't be disappointed. I was served by a young man with a lovely smile and manner who I think was Elliott (?). He gave a choice of breads and then generously filled the sandwich. He even asked if I wanted sauce (which I didn't) which I think is a good touch as other places just seem to sell you foodstuffs smothered in stuff you might not want. (As an aside I got the impression it was a ‘Saturday job' and was off to University soon, so good luck young man) Other rolls I saw being sold were generously filled and still reasonably priced. So another year gone and another great tasting coffee and bite to eat. Thank you Elliott (assuming that’s your first name).

Dropped in for a quick lunchtime sandwich, was stunned by the variety available. Each made fresh at time of order & all very good value.Will be heading back here again the next time we're in Woodbridge.

Came to get myself and my friend a sandwich and we were served by the most pleasant young man I could've wished of. He made us some superb sandwiches and also made my day. Would recommend just make sure this strapping young lad is serving you for an all round wonderful experience.

Nice food but sullen staff! A smile and chat goes a long way! I visit often but service is poor. Let's the good food down.

Me and my partner went in to buy some lunch and wasn't given any time to decide what we wanted, very pushy. The lady that made our sandwiches was very rude and unhelpful. I actually felt like saying to my partner let's go somewhere else as i wasn't actually pleased at all with the service!

Went in for lunch. Everything was too much trouble for the surly server who informed us half way through making our sandwiches that they were about to close. If you don't want us, put a closed sign up!!! Very unfriendly and average food.

Although small we were able to eat in. A very good selection all very fresh and no way do the give small fillings.

Sinceramente, no creo que estaría de vuelta en Norfolk/Suffolk este año, pero me. Woodbridge es encantador, el puerto y la marea Mill (que he revisado en el pasado) sólo tenía que visitar una vez más. Very compact shop that offers a very wide range of fillings. The staff are always polite and will treat you as a valued individual. Food fillers are always big and very tasty.

He visitado en varias ocasiones y el relleno y rollos han sido siempre delicioso 10/10 lo malo es el personal, rara vez he he conseguido una sonrisa o gracias. Ciertamente no hay oportunidad de un poco de ralentí chitchat. Es una pena como una sonrisa o educado cuesta nada conversación Volveré como a mis hijos les encanta las opciones, yo vivo en la esperanza de que un día podría conseguir una sonrisa y nos hizo sentir que el personal quería mi comercio.

The sandwich shop never fails if you are after a quick fresh tasty lunch. There is a vast selection of fillings; also many different types of bread, also jacket potatoes and salads. The spicy meatball and mozzarella baguette is a winner, you can add extra items if you wish which is a nice touch. It's always busy whenever I go in so that's a good sign. Give the overly salty and poor service subway next door a miss and come here instead!

Superb selection of sandwich fillings. This makes a refreshing change from the usual bland, run of the mill choice of sandwich fillings offered by other outlets usually beginning with a 'Ch': Cheese, chicken or Chuna!!! And as my Husband says (for lunch) 'If it's not slapped between two slices of bread, then it's not lunch, and he's not eating it (Yes his sarcasm has won awards)!! Minted lamb - very tasty.

If you don't fancy a bland, ready-made lunch, the Sandwich Shop is the perfect place to go. Their fresh baguettes, rolls and sandwiches are quickly made to order, with the fussiest appetites satisfied with their huge range of fillings and salads. The staff are very friendly and always up for a chat. Support your local businesses! You won't be disappointed.

This is the first sandwich bar I have ever gone back to more than once.Unusual and inventive fillings and willing to mix and match to customers preferences.

Another visit to the beautiful town of Woodbridge whilst on holiday, unfortunately tipping it down this time. Recalling a bacon sandwich, I had another (with choice of bread) and coffee and enjoyed it as much as last year's. Ignore an earlier negative review from someone else. Based on my visits I struggle with that. It does not reflect either experience I had. In my view the prices are reasonable - the shop has to charge doesn't it? - and appear to be value for money. Staff remain friendly yet professional though not overbearing.

Fabulous food selection, there is almost too much to choose from every time I go in. Wonderful service. Happy and cooperative staff. Five star!

Well if you want an expensive snack this is the place a Large white roll is a joke with " spread " a smattering of Seafood mix and for and I was charge an extra 20 p for four slices of cucumber.. I said are you sure yes said the woman who had just assembled the roll with bare hands all salad items are 20p..........Outrageous Highway robbery you do not deserve to be in business.

The best place in town to get a quick lunch! Chicken tikka baguette is lovely, quick and cheap! Sometimes you have to queue for a little while, but it's well worth the wait, get in early before the lunch rush!

Having moved away from Woodbridge for uni, I always look forward to getting in a visit to the Sandwich Shop on my holidays back home. Have always had consistently good, tasty food that is quick to prepare exactly how you like it, for a very reasonable price. I always order a half-and-half baguette (great if you're deciding between two lovely fillings) and walk round the corner to Costa to eat outside - lovely in Summer!

Been going to Sandwich Shop for years. Their baguettes sandwiches and baps are gorgeous. Try the Red Leicester and Red Onion with Mayo filling... It's to die for! Love this cafe and Tim the owner is a star!

Small shop and though service can initially seem slow (it isn't) it's due to the popularity of the shop - do NOT let this put you off. It's worth the wait. The fact you might have to wait a bit says something about the popularity of the shop. Efficient staff deal well with long queues and are friendly without being overbearing. Baguettes, paninis, rolls, sandwiches etc etc are filled in front of you, with generous and tasty fillings at reasonable prices.Coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice too (I even heard mention of apple when I was there). They say follow the locals for the best places, and the locals here aren't wrong. Forget the pre-prepared supermarket/chain rolls where you're forced into whatever in the roll. I would certainly go back.

It's a takeaway although there are 3 or 4 bar stools in the window.

Have almost anything you can imagine! It's quick, clean and fast. Chicken tikka filling is to die for :)

Very hot in there, but the food is great and the selection is numerous. I really liked the coffee as well.
