Finally.. somewhere in Swanage with real taste! The Sandwich Shed is a hidden gem. Run by a lovely couple who have crafted a small and delicious menu, made up of gourmet sandwiches. All on homemade focaccia, my favourite was the BBQ beef brisket served with sauerkraut, smoked cheese, crispy onions and homemade black garlic sauce. Accompanied by some freshly cooked skinny fries and smoky “shed” slaw and a drink from the pub in which the SS is situated, there is nothing to fault. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys home cooked, quirky food.

Went to the sandwich shed ( run by the fantastic team of chef Rob and his lovely partner in crime Zoe ) with the other half on Thursday just gone . The selection was great, all made to order sandwiches on home made foccacia bread with fresh home made indulgent fillings . We both opted for the "Cuban" a toasted foccacia sandwich filled with mustard mayo, Swiss cheese, smoked ham, roast pork and cider pickles . We also shared a side of homemade skin on herb fries and shed slaw ( a slightly smoked mayo and paprika coleslaw) all of it was amazing ! The sandwich was packed , juicy, melty and full of flavour the fries were great and the slaw a welcome crunchy addition . The crowning glory however was the amazing cooked to order black pudding scotch egg ! wonderfully seasoned black pudding ,super crunchy outer and a still liquid yolk centre. What more do I need to say ...... if you haven't been there yet what are you waiting for ?!. Located in the wonderful beer garden of the crows nest inn in swanage .

Came here with my other half who is very fussy. We both had the brisket and they took the "healthy" stuff off for the fussy one. The brisket was the best one I've ever had and the fries were so moreish. Defonently will come again.

Great Swanage find providing top quality hot sandwiches and more from the garden of The Crows Nest pub. Sandwiches in superb Focaccia bread made by them with their own tremendous fillings. Highly recommended alfresco or take away, take a visit!!

Lots of choice and options, made with excellent bread, more than you would expect from a pub garden.

If you are in Swanage don’t miss the opportunity to visit The Sandwich Shed tucked away behind The Crows Nest pub. Nestled in a sheltered garden, The Sandwich Shed offers some amazing fillings in breads baked by the chef. A personal favourite was the duck with plums and hoi sin sauce and crispy seaweed - it was like a Chinese banquet in bread! My partner had the chicken fajitas- again in bread but equally delicious. Fries and homemade coleslaw are optional extras - which of course, we opted for. The menu changes regularly but we were delighted to find they now open for breakfast in bread too!! Give it a try. I am sure you will enjoy.

We'd read the mixed (mainly bad reviews!) before camping at next-door Primrose Fields and couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. The family that ran the pub were lovely; warm, welcoming, accommodating and friendly. It was a super hot day and I didn't fancy a hot meal which is all they had on the menu - so I asked if there was any chance of a sandwich - no fuss, no bother - I wasn't made to feel difficult at all! Sandwich was big and delish; tuna crunch with salad on fresh tiger bloom and a side of tasty chips. The rest of our party had a mix of burgers, scampi, more sandwiches (I set a trend!), all of which were very well received. Not a morsel left. After lunch, I went to see if they might have any ice creams, and very kindly, they sold us six cornettos which were evidently from their family supply - I was really impressed with their above and beyond attitude. In addition, the pub garden is lovely; big mature trees, a wildlife pond, big lawn with sun and shade seating options, mini play park for the kids - all set way back from the road so you really feel you're in the middle of the country. All in all, it felt more like going to someone's house than a pub which I really liked. Would definitely recommend to any campers or passers by.
