Reasonably priced and brilliant food

Extremely poor service, tables not cleaned or cleared, waited over half an hour, had to go and ask for our own menus, they were surprised, they asked where we were, told them where we were sat, another half an hour later, we had to go to reception to ask what was happening, then they eventually came to our table, the worst thing was that they were not even busy, the staff were just talking amongst themselves, oblivious to their customers, shocking 😮

Has the potential to be a great place, but the company have got greedy with their prices whilst simultaneously lowering the standard. Food is not available fully all day. The business processes are very bad. I've been twice and waited 20 mins plus for drinks. Staff are nice and helpful and the location is superb. However, even these things do not make up for paying £35 for 2 alcoholic drinks and 3 cokes! Or £85 for 3 starters and 2 pints. Seriously! I've paid less in top restaurants in Manchester and London! There are people with money on the site, but they don't want to be ripped off and pay 3 times over the odds for things. Either increase your standards or reduce your prices. This is not working, and I'm not the only person who thinks this.

Gated holiday park, food and facilities for kids and adults, beach access. Not a hotel.

Overpriced ice cream, the ice cream was the smallest ive ever seen in my life, half the size of a normal ice cream cone. The scoop was smallest ive seen and dripping to the point it was a milkshake. The only reason it was priced high is because it is the warren and its full of pretentious people. The male at the beach kiosk was slow and unorganised and took about 10 minutes to ask us what we would like. The general vibe of the bar was very lazy and we were not satisfied. Don’t visit this business.

Fantastic location with service to match, Chris and his team went above and beyond to make it a memorable experience. Can’t recommend highly enough. Looking forward to returning soon.

Derick the manager at the sandbar what a bad attitude to customers… apparently you can’t move a table, won’t stop arguing then attempts to ask you to leave! If it wasn’t the only dining place we would have! Wrong way to treat customers in a luxury environment.

Lovely restaurant, coffee was excellent.

What an exquisite place. The beach here is awesome, so it's worth the drive regardless of the last few poor reviews. The bar itself is a sturdy purpose built sandbar, great 180° view of the beach and peninsula. 2 staff on today were really pleasant and helpful. My coffee came in less than 5 minutes, and steak and chips came in 16 minutes, but there was only me being served and 4 other tables who'd eaten. I think I'd wait longer if I had to because the view is stunning, so bring a book, chillax, and bear with when it's busy. 😚

Me and my friend went the sand bar for a late afternoon lunch today and loved the food. Ben, Megan and Chloe were also really nice and attentive. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who’s staying close to abersoch.

I think bit pricy , didn't seem to like you walking in of the beach sit out side, cold if windy.

Right on the beach about half way along. We have had coffee here each day and a nice lunch on Sunday. They also serve breakfast and evening meals. Dog friendly. Service is good even when busy. Prices are not cheap , but food and drinks are very good.

Beautiful location but don’t bother, but waited over an hour for food, had to find our own cushion for the seats, no offer of any further drinks. Went to ask how long food was, went to check, didn’t come back, continued to take food orders off others. Asked again said she would go again. Surely clear the kitchen first rather than just taking more and more orders. Could be a great location but need to sort organisation and service, wouldn’t recommend

What a waste of a superb location. A number of us visited for breakfast today. After waiting 15 minutes to order, 45 minutes for drinks and nearly an hour for food we were totally underwhelmed with the food quality. Every single poached egg was like a boiled egg and cold. Some of our party had to ask for their coffee order five times and still didn’t receive the correct coffee. The young waiting staff were doing an admirable job trying to placate everyone, but the quality and waiting times were atrocious. The F&B Manager appeared to be hiding in the kitchen and couldn’t apologise enough when approached.

Poor service, dirty glasses everywhere, cushions on chairs had been left out overnight so ended up sitting on wicker frame very uncomfortable as the cushions were sodden wet. You need to get a grip the Warren management !! This place should be a goldmine. You won't get returning customers! Alot of the staff were inside chatting and when they did come out to take your order we were asked 3 times. Nobody was clearing away. Surely a school leaver would work there just collecting glasses. Is a shame. Remember this place when it was was a little shack some years ago. Wont be returning anytime soon.

This was a welcome coffee stop on a hike from Abersoch to Pwhelli. However, it was expensive at over £8 for two coffees and the service wasn't brilliant with young waiting girls who were totally disinterested and apathetic. The place itself was clean and there appeared to be plenty of staff at work. The views from the terrace are fantastic, especially on a bright sunny day as it was when we were there. Our coffee was brought to us by an older member of staff who was polite and interested.

Best chicken burger I’ve ever eaten!! Location is amazing, good buzz and smiley staff. Overall had a great lunch and will definitely be coming back.

Loved it!! Excellent place for breakfast. We walked here from Abersoch High Street (25mins) along the beach. Beautiful views and friendly staff. Particular thanks to Otto and Harry.

Very popular, some pretentiousness going on but the place is nice, servers were good and seemingly under appreciated by some customers but pricing average for the area. Decor is nice and modern, benches on the beach are a nice touch for entertaining kids and dogs alike!

Lovely burger and fries, but the wine was very pricey really at £12 / glass. Still, where else can you buy wine on the beach itself in the lovely sunshine?

Cover of 6 persons. Either the staff are very new or there is lack of leadership. Table service only. The waiting on team should have their own sections and look after them. They was all over the show. One staff didn't know her tables and kept coming over asking if we had ordered the drinks she had on her tray. We declined as they was not ours. We ate food. It was mediocre as half of the stock was not available. Staff did not check if we had any allergies......very important. No mussels but then later they had so delivery must have came. No checkback on how food was! No Kracken rum. Waiter didn't know what other options available as alternative. We cleared our own table of empties each time and took them inside. No other tables had any of their empties cleared too. Had to pay for your food and drinks before you had consumed. We paid for each drink round as we ordered and it took 30 mins for them to serve. Nothing special just 4 beers, coke and a gin & lemo each time. One round was coffees, poor as no nibbles of the day served with as advertised on drinks menu. However ice coffee was nice according to friend who had. In conclusion I wouldn't recommend. They have a premium spot, they could have made double and if the operational staff was on it with service. They have you over a barrel once your in as there is no other bars/restaurants in the beach area. Wasted opportunities. Such a shame.

Absolute shambles of a breakfast experience yesterday, 8th April 2023. Waiting time was the worst I think, I’ve ever known, anywhere in the world……. Even for a cup of coffee, tea. Even after a couple of chases, wait staff couldn’t have been less interested, except for one who unfortunately we didn’t get her name. Full Welsh breakfast was ok, but when we finally got our pancakes after many reminders, and after everyone else had finished their breakfast half an hour previously, they were the WORST pancakes I’ve ever had, dry, tasteless, boring, even my 7 yr old grandson left all of it …… chocolate sauce wasn’t even Nutella……. 7 yrs old!!! Waffles sounded delicious on the menu….. they were Iceland/Birdseye frozen waffles??????? Beautiful location and fantastic surroundings, but if you can’t maintain average quality, why bother?

The sand bar is ok but the prices are a bit steep but it comes with the place in abersoch it is very expensive down there. To be honest some people think the more expensive it is the better it is but not true ⁹

Turned up this morning here after lovely walk in beach. I had checked opening time on their Website which stated 08.30 am. I was really looking forward to nice coffee and breakfast here only to be told that they do not open until 9am. This is rather annoying and you need to update your website. I must say though the Young Man I spoke to was most polite and invited Me to sit inside until they opened and whilst they were setting up for opening.

Breakfast at the Sandbar was delicious. Service excellent and the setting and surroundings perfect.

Great views, very clean place. Ideal spot for a coffee or a beer. Didn't eat there but looks a very nice set up.

Fantastic location & food. Staff were attentive & helpful. Dog friendly. Food, although expensive was very nice. Large portions & seemed freshly prepared. Looking forward to returning again the summer and enjoying a drink outside.

Was visiting the Llyn peninsula when we called onto the caravan site. At the end looking over the massive clean beach is the Sandbar. It's part of the site, but public have access. A great way to have a drink or bite to eat while taking in the view.

Three of us had a very pleasant spa treatment this morning in the Warren Spa. Afterwards we were recommended the Sandbar for refreshments. On arrival we were impressed with the location of the bar and the beautiful views. One member of our party was a smoker and lit a cigarette on the bar deck area, a member of staff shouted at her from a distance that smoking was not allowed ( I hasten to add there were no obvious signs to this affect). She quickly moved to the beach area as advised and had no issue with this. Whilst she was away we were asked by the same member of staff did we want to order. I politely requested a menu. We were given drinks menus. We then wondered whether to have food you needed to be inside and and we didn’t want the embarrassment of being shouted at again so we asked? We were then informed that we could eat outside and on request were given food menus. At this point we felt so unwelcome for no apparent reason that we decided to take our custom elsewhere. The member of staff who on this occasion was front of house had a very aggressive, unacceptable and offensive manner and although this bar is in a beautiful location none of my party would be happy to revisit.

Good food, good service and dog friendly. We will be regular visitors!!

Lovely views and stylish place. Unfortunately coffee machine broken, asked for tea and cakes instead, no cakes. Decided to go elsewhere.

Have eaten here regularly since 2019 and after understandably difficult times during the pandemic the place has had a stylish refit, recruited a fantastic team and offers a superb menu at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service and food have been consistently superb on my latest visit (October 22) which has prompted me to write such a positive review. I notice below comments on price. I think if you’ve come expecting a cheap cafe on the beach you’ll find it expensive. If you compare it to any nice restaurant and then add in a fantastic location on the beach I actually think it’s of fair value and stacks up well price wise against any nice eatery across the UK.

All I'm going to say is that it was perfect.

Sat outside, said table service. Waited more than 10 minutes, passed numerous times by staff members. Eventually got noticed so ordered a beer and a glass of Sauvignon from Ryan along with a mini basket of fries to nibble on. The bill was £19.50!!!!! I queried it, Ryan said it was a good Sauvignon, a 175ml glass, he wished he could give it me for free but at the end of the day, it comes with a fantastic view. Ryan - I have been enjoying that view for over 55 years - with my own parents as a child, with my own child who is now an adult, and now with my grandchild. It is and always will be one of the best views in my world, but never worth £10 for a glass of wine and a patronising comment thrown in!!! Won’t be back.

Absolutely shocking, ran by kids on a 5star resort. Everyone needs there head shaking. People are waiting to order food and drinks and the staff are stood around the bar. Waited 1 hour for my beer to arrive after ordering and food was shocking and cold. Disgraceful will tell everyone to avoid

£20 for g&t and pint of lager. No service even though it said table service. I wouldn't bother bring your own and sit on the beach

Initially went in for just drinks which I think would have been fine, long wait times, some staff just take orders for drinks and others just for food which is bizarre. Ordered food, came relatively quickly but it potentially was one of the worst meals, all four of us, had ever tasted. Tacos and the vegetarian mezze board. Trying to get the bill took about half an hour. Go for drinks if youre not in a hurry

Lovely but expensive £11 for a glass of wine!

Brilliant location, nice drinks. I think they struggle with staff though. They all seemed very young and seemed there wasn't anyone directing them. Ive worked in hospitality for a long time and think they would benefit from a decent training program and maybe some table numbers (hidden or on view to the public) because nothing says "I don't know what im doing" more than "did you order this". Saying all this though the staff where all friendly and we really felt there pain.

The coffee machine had broken, which seemed to unduly affect the efficiency and efficacy of the staff, so that we had to wait 25 mins for 2 x cafetiere coffees! Cool location though.

Beautiful location but the service needs improvement.

Waited that long for a member of staff to take our order we walked out. We noticed two other tables did the same. We will not be returning as not prepared to put up with such indifference and terrible lack of customer service we experienced.

We have a place on the site so come here regularly (or try to) the service is absolutely horrendous and have just walked off a good 3/4 times at least. Walked in to rude staff all huddled up doing nothing. Took friends today and walked away embarrassed after 45 minutes of waiting for our order to be took (to be told their coffee machine is broken) to then walking off after further half an hour wait. Hear other customers laughing and saying the same thing all the time. Ludicrously bad service every time.

Lovly day again sat by the sea at the sands bar.the young staff(students )are lovly. Hard working and friendly..lovly place to sit and look at the sea and eveyone enjoying themselves on the jet skis..

Food was amazing and so was service. So nice and friendly. :) We are deffo coming back here in the future. :)

This place is ideal location and beautifully done out but...extremely overpriced. 46 pound for 4 beers 1 wine and gin and tonic. Sorry but I think that's very expensive. It is dog friendly and staff are pleasant. We would have gone every day if prices had been more reasonable.

Couldn’t recommend this place enough, the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, a credit to the warren, the food was some of the best around abersoch, all staff on today’s evening meal deserve a shoutout, could not fault

We sat at a table and waited to be served, after 15 minutes I approached the waitress who had served customers who had just arrived. I told her we were waiting to order and she said she would come over. She then went back inside, she then came back out when some more customers arrived. At this point we decided to leave and were very disappointed with the staff service

Massive amount of chalets scattered along the sea front. Great facilities and nice sea front bar. Dog friendly and plenty of access paths to the beach

I am a chalet owner. I have been on the Warren for over 7 years now. The sandbar is the worst thing the Warren have spent our money on !!. Read all the bad reviews- they are 100% correct. The running of this place is a shambles. Especially when haulfryn are selling it as the best of the best ….!!.. I turned up for breakfast , they didn’t have our reservation but said find a table. The only one available was at the far end near off axis. Bad choice!.. They concentrate serving the main section.. There is not enough staff to cope here at all . They eventually came when a family sat down next to me . They served them and ignored me . After 25 minutes I ordered a coffee!. It looks like they employ young people with no experience ( obviously the cheapest way possible). They go through a lot of staff here in general I’ve noticed after being on site for many years. Such a shame…… location is perfect…. They are apparently re doing the place .. . The acoustics are all wrong inside- it sounds like sitting in a works canteen..!… Hopefully they have a proper restaurant manager to run the place properly and employ proper staff with training …………..

The service/food in the sandbar is not at its best. Cold meat burnt chips. Comes close to a 3 star. Needs better management to sort out it problems.

The 1 star is for the blankets outside! Wild monkeys could run this place better, won’t return unless the monkeys take over! Where to start? Shocking service or lack of, we arrived at 3.30 and my husband and his friend went to the bar to order some drinks, they were told they’re no longer serving drinks as they’re shutting the kitchen/bar down for the 4-5pm turnover for evening meals 🤯 a bar that can’t share its staff out between evening service and drinks! That says it all! Staff were rude, a family then arrived after us and were happily served, so I went up to question why he’d been served and not us. We got 5 barely out of nappies staff telling me they can’t make drinks after 4 (it’s was 3.45) whilst 1 of them was making a coffee for the bloke who arrived after us! We’ve put the milk away now one said!! We can’t we have to get ready for the tea time rush another announced, then a jumped up teenager tells me, but if we made one for you then everyone would want one!! Obviously I’m such a trend setter 🤣 Meanwhile I was told by another lady that she sent a girl out 15 mins ago to ask for last orders, she hadn’t because we sat down at 3.30! They did however say if we’d like to sit outside for a hour we could then order our 7 hot drinks at 5.30 On a serious not management need to look at how they run this place, invest in a customer service course for all staff and if they must close the drinks section down put a note at the foot of the steps outlining this stupidity and train staff in how to relay the message in a polite and sincere manner. In a time where hospitality is suffering due to covid, turning customers away is hard to believe! 6 members of staff were stood in one tiny bar area, 2 just floating around with trays, that’s plenty enough staff to serve drinks, collect glasses and set up for evening meals. If I’d read the other reviews before hand I’d have avoided visiting full stop.

Service great, really friendly staff and were really attentive. The views from here are amazing looking out over the bay. Would recommend coming in the quieter months though because the clientele leave a lot to be desired. There are some good people who come here, but the vast majority are your "keeping up with the Jones'" kind of people who will treat the service staff like dirt and will happily leave a bad review on here if their knife isn't aligned right. Just look at the other reviews on here and you'll see what I mean!

We had a wonderful lunch + an excellent breakfast at The Sandbar. The restaurant is in a really beautiful location, right on the beach. The service is really good & the food excellent. I hugely recommend a visit.

We had a fantastic lunch of mussels and white wine overlooking the bay. Excellent service and value as well as a stunning location - the sunshine did help!

Walked miles to find it only serving drinks because of staff party tonight ...very disappointed

Awful.3 cups of cold coffee, no spoons for sugar and waited an eternity. Terrible lunch time menus and again the wait was a disgrace. The children's menu is diabolical, and the staff have no idea, again you had to ask for cutlery and condiments. The Warren need to have a look at this place as its beyond belief.

Food was pretty good. We had cod and sea bass, which were nice. Service and organisation was dreadful. 20 mins to get a drink, no service for a second. Waiters coming out of kitchen without a clue of which table the food was for. We were asked twice about a starter we hadn't ordered. Other guests complaining about time to get a drink. Staff were generally working hard, just incredibly disorganised and inefficient. Bizarre. Location and layout re spacing of tables were excellent.

We rang them 10 min before coming to check if we could get a table, and they told us to come over and there are tables free on the terrace. Once we arrived, the terrace was pretty much empty but they wouldn’t let anyone sit because it was fully booked. Staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing, it’s a shame because the location is great and the deck is nice

Strange Policy. As we were not staying on the Warren they wouldn't serve us because of "Covid", yet they served us several months ago. This seems a strange policy as there were plenty of available tables. I will not give them my business anymore.

Only for people good enough to be staying at the Warren , rude staff …. Although there were plenty of empty tables … there was only two of us and a baby and we visited not in school holidays …

Only for people staying at the resort. Although there were empty seats outside for the whole time we were there, we were not allowed unless staying in the vicinity. Had to sit inside which was a 'privilege' at the moment.

The venue was nice but the service is like nothing I've experienced before. Wine given to us unopened, sharing platters without plates, no cutlery, forgotten orders etc. The waiters were pleasant enough but have zero training and felt like a shambles, sorry!

This is our 4th visit and very unfortunately it has gone downhill The Manager and reception lady were excellent The serving staff were okay BUT.... the most important thing being the food was not and very very disappointing. We can only assume a different chef but when even the chips are inedible you have to ask the question???

Arrived 5.30, Location and setting superb - watched the stunning sunset and calm sea. Order taken promptly and delicious food arrived soon after. Staff pleasant Bo & Emily were great. After 6pm, staff resources were limited so we had no one come and offer second drinks, pudding etc. When we waved for attention we did get seen to. As previous comment mentions - get a front of house and train staff to regularly check on tables. We will return to see if feedback taken on board.

5 star location. 1 star food. Classic Abersoch. Great place for a beer if you can deal with the slightly faulty towers service but avoid the food. How you manage to make such a great spot so so average I have no idea. Please get a chef and front of house who actually care about what they do and do the fantastic setting you’ve been blessed with some justice. Don’t try and make it ‘up market’, just make it good, tasty and unpretentious. This could have been a great addition to the village, it hurts it’s so basic.

We went to sandbar when it first opened and the end of 2019 and have a lovely meal with lovely service. We were keen to Go back and booked this week. BIG mistake. The food was pretty awful. I had chicken burger which was so over cooked I couldn’t eat it. My son had the vegan fish option which when it finally appeared looked like a small portion of kids fish fingers and chips. He is a 22 year old man with a good appetite!! Food presentation is none existent. This place needs a serious rethink!!!! Staff were pleasant. Will not be going back anytime soon.

Genuinely the worst dining experience of my life! To start I would have loved a starter, instead I was given the news that the table of 5 I booked had been split into a two and a three. Apparently this was due to government guidelines... They should check the government guidelines (tables of 6 very much allowed). More to follow.... 2 hours! yes 2 whole hours after our arrival our food decided to join us! Oh Joy! How was the food you ask? Bloody average at best :( I ordered a chicken burger! Oh mistakes were certainly made! Alas the time has come for me to leave this darn blasted joint, and I couldnt be happier! Ta ta and farwell!
