The Sanctuary Coffee House in Middlesbrough

We wanted breakfast before a visit to Ormsby Hall nearby. This little cafe fitted the bill perfectly. Nice staff, food served quickly. At very reasonable prices. Perfect baked beans and black pudding. While we were there a customer asked for a black pudding tomato, egg, mushrooms fried onion and cheese sandwich!! They happily obliged!!

This place does Sunday dinners which are FABULOUS. Generous portions of choice of meat., vegetables and large Yorkshire pudding.

Amazing little place im in most days now for my frappe sampling all the flavours staff are lovely food is always well presented fresh and hot ⭐️

Lunch was nice , hot and plenty of it . Gravy and pudding both separate . I would recommend it if like me the odd time I don’t cook Sunday lunch I always want one . Delivery driver was so nice .

We ordered 3 Sunday lunches from here and were not disappointed There was a great choice of vegetables and the meat was very tasty The portions were plentiful Would definitely recommend and will be going back again

Not the same place it once was Went last week with partner for breakfast Standards have certainly dropped The service was good but that’s all The food was terrible Not the same quality or standard of food used by the previous owner The eggs was hard and greasy Bacon tough and greasy Cup of tea was ok tho Would not recommend

The simple things done perfectly. I had a delicious full English breakfast. Everything was perfectly cooked and packed with flavour.

Me and my partner decided to try the sanctuary out after reading the reviews as we live near by and we were not disappointed! High quality breakfast and coffee at reasonable prices and excellent service, we will definitely be coming back!

The sanctuary coffee shop serves the best breakfast, lovely coffee and gorgeous scones and cakes, everything is homemade and so tasty 😋. The staff are super friendly ! Cant do enough for you !

Spotted a few comments about this place on TripAdvisor and, as breakfast is my favourite meal, took earlier reviewers advice and gave it a go. What a fantastic place. A warm welcome, quirky but comfortable surroundings with a well cooked and well presented full English breakfast to boot. Many places specialising in breakfast often provide a rather nasty instant coffee but good fresh coffee is the deal here. Methinks I’ve just talked myself in to another visit.

Had a lovely breakfast in a really quirky place.. reminded us of little French cafes.. lots to look at.. great menu & amazing food... lovely girls/staff/owners who were just the right amount of attentive.. don't let the area or outside throw you because as soon as you enter you will be at home, well looked after & be returning for more like me & dad will be.. Called in for breakfast one morning last week-October 2018. We were very warmly welcomed and our order was taken very efficiently. Tea and coffee arrived and kept us going as we waited for the breakfast. These came after a short wait, well worth the wait. Food was plentiful and tasty.

We have always Enjoy the food at the sanctuary coffee house. We been back quite a few times now always very welcoming.

Best in Boro by far for a quality breakfast, sometimes have to wait as always cooked to order. Not the cheapest but definitely the nicest

Fuimos en aquí diez minutos antes de que estaba cerca y debido a que no tenga prisa en absoluto. La comida era en este punto, pero nos dieron dos lattes grandes con jarabes, y un agradable saludo. Se trata de un lugar yo y un amigo mío se reunió por primera vez y a menudo volver para pasar el rato allí cuando estamos en nuestros paseos por la zona.Algo que me di cuenta que era un poco raro pero muy lindo fue que había un par de anteojos para leer en una estantería cuando entras en el hotel. Lo mencioné a la camarera ya que pensé que alguien había dejado. Me aseguró que sólo dejó allí para personas que puedan requerir cuando leyendo el periódico, me pareció que era lindo!También nos ofrecieron el papel antes de que nos fuéramos. Me gusta el hecho de que éste es un negocio independiente con un poco de corazón - que siempre prefieren lugares como éste a Costa o Nero o Starbucks ... más personal y familiar y saber que estás poner su dinero en un local, en vez de algunos big Fat cat.También he oído en el molino se rumorea que el lugar fue creado por alguien con la intención de ser una especie de "santuario" para la gente, un refugio seguro para respiro igualmente piensan! Buena idea ya que al final de la carretera de James Cook ...Café estaba muy bien, no es demasiado caro, tamaños taza generosas!

Hemos estado en esta cafetería varias veces y cada vez, el servicio del simpático personal es simplemente fantástico. La comida es excelente. El pastel de chocolate de coca cola es para morirse.

comida de calidad a precios justos, agradable y un personal atento y un ambiente acogedor que simplemente no puede superar el santuario. desayunos y bocadillos de tocino, cocinados como usted desee, sopas y pastas caseras son la mejor que he probado en mi vida. Como visitantes habituales que nunca me ha decepcionado y no puedo recomendar este lugar.
