Sticky Fingers Cafe/Bar in Middlesbrough

The place itself seems nice enough - a good aesthetic that screams rock n'roll. However, the online presence really lets the place down. "Book a Table" says the website. I booked a table. Only to receive an email saying I didn't need to. When we arrived, two tables were marked "Reserved". Based on information found on the various online sources we could find, my other half (looking to celebrate her birthday), chose SF having seen "a selection of grilled cheese sandwiches", and offers on a "range of cocktails". The evening got off to a poor start when we got to the bar, and the only two non-lager/cider options on the draught drinks were both out of stock. Undeterred, we asked for one of the "range of cocktails", only to be told they were not doing cocktails. Undeterred, we finally found (barely) suitable beverages and found a table. We waited for the menu, and were disappointed to find it was much smaller than the online presence had led us to believe. Calling over one of the staff, we were told "We don't do those anymore". When we pointed out that this really should be updated online, we got "Yeah, its all changing". At which point we left to go home. Where we could enjoy drinks we wanted, and the full array of delights available from local takeaways. One word of advice - if you promise burger and chips, and deliver burger and chips, I'm happy. But if I visit on the basis of online information, and you don't have what you've marketed, I'm going to be elsewhere.

Become quite a regular at sticky fingers but it’s for a reason. Everything is 5* and we always look forward to coming back.

As we were planning a trip to Middlesbrough to see two football matches on the same day, we needed to plan in where to eat in the interval. I used this site tripadvisor as a source to find local places to eat near the stadium. Listed on tripadvisor was Sticky Fingers with good reviews, so that was the first choice based on the reviews. Upon arriving, there was a small group of people drinking at the bar and there were no other diners in seated. The staff member stated that we needed to install their app and use that to order, due to COVID :( Not really wanting to install unwanted software, we nevertheless sat down and I started to download the app...... Then through the corner on my left eye, I caught the sight of a man heading from the toilets?...buttoning his jacket, upon which he lifted his head - opened his mouth wide and loudly belched into the area - full volume. I dropped the phone and was about to start to deal with this man - when he drunkenly said sorry. I then picked up the phone - Deleted the app and we left. To the Staff, I am sorry as I was really looking forward to trying your food and seeing if the reviews placed here were correct...looks like the boozy customer(s) cost you our trade and more so returning trade. Manners cost nothing!; 0 Stars

Great beer, easy to use app, beef burgers and chicken fantastic, burger buns held up well, fries really tasty and beer v v good. What's not to like ..... Service v friendly

Very good chicken and burger meals, though a bit more "structural bun integrity" is needed to stop the burgers falling apart into a delicious mess. Food is ordered via an app which worked well and our food came quickly. Service really friendly and the beer great. fab music to top it all off. Would definitely return.

From the service to the food everything is always impeccable here. The burgers are honestly the best I’ve ever had! Staff are all really friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, even after making a total tw*t of yourself the night before after one too many coronas.

OK so iv wanted to come and see what sticky fingers is all about since seeing the live music and these breath taking burgers all over Facebook so I figured I'll see if its all just hype but my god!!! It definetly wasn't just hype I have genuinely never tasted a better tasting burger in all of teesside and my only regret is not coming in sooner iwould give 6 out of 5 stars if I had the option !! Get here and you will want to go anywhere else !!!

Great customer service from the young lady behind the bar very attentive to our needs of not knowing that we needed to bring our phones to access the menu and she suggested going through some of the menu with us she was great..Now the food Me and our lad got burgers he had double cheese beef burger Me I had deep fried chicken burger both had chips and all the salad was lovely first time I didn't have to pick my burger apart the fried chicken was delicious and our lad said his was and looked amazing...We were sat somewhere else but the customer service was so bad!! We walked out and were glad we did because now we've found a little GEM In #StickyFingers loved the atmosphere and music very chill...THANKYOU FOR HAVING US GUYS SEE YOU AGAIN SOON FOR MORE FOOD AND COCKTAILS

Not my usual choice of takeaway but fancied a change . Was really impressed with the food, service and ease of ordering. The burger was exceptional and the salt and pepper fries fantastic. Will definitely be ordering again

Our first order from Sticky Fingers was for their all day breakfast stacks which were absolutely delicious but then we decided to try the burgers and were blown away! By far the tastiest burgers we've had in a long long time. My mouth is watering just thinking about them. Delivery is always quick and everyone is super friendly. If you haven't tried them yet then treat yourself, you'll definitely not regret it. The cocktails are fab too!

Got a delivery during lockdown for me and my vegetarian son, the burger and chips were insane! My son is so fussy and says of all the veggie burgers he’s tried this one was the best! Cocktails were a cute little treat too. Will definitely be ordering again

These really are the best and tastiest burgers I have ever had. The chicken is also delicious with the chipotle dip. Its tasty, not greasy and leaves you wanting more and more. The delivery service is quick and friendly.

Sticky fingers is by far the very best burgers I’ve ever had, not to mention the sides are to die for.Unfortunately we fall out of the delivery zone but are more than happy to drive to collect.Managed to actually sit in and eat (pre lockdown) and will definitely be going again when we can.Lovely staff, fantastic atmosphere and hey the food is incredible.

I've had food from here on multiple occasions and I have to say these are the best burgers in Teesside! Especially the chicken burgers. So tasty and juicy! The sides are amazing, too. Service is friendly and efficient. Can't fault anything. I'm now a regular customer because the food is so great, I can't get enough!

Came here pre lockdown for a sit in meal. All I can see is these are the best burgers I've ever had. Amazing burgers, lovely staff and amazing music. Since lockdown I've been collecting from them as a takeaway the staff are always warm and welcoming and the food is consistently brilliant.

Not normally a burger fan but the ones from here are something else!! As well as the sides and chicken. Great place when it's allowed to open too, fab bar with a brilliant atmosphere.

Wow!! Food was delicious!! We really fancied something tasty as our Friday takeaway and thought we would try here for the first time. DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Food was unreal! Burgers were really meaty and the toppings really enhanced the flavours! My youngest daughter is a vegetarian and got the Mac and cheese bites with burger sauce and loved them! Everything so tasty from the chips to the dips to the chicken!!! Highly recommend!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ordered 10 burgers for lunch time works order along with sides and upgraded fries. Everything was a massive hit for everyone, wont beat the burgers anywhere in this area. Salt n pepper chicken loaded fries are beaut! Excellent service too! Great bar.

We ordered burgers for takeout. Our burger were still lovely and warm when we arrived home. I offered the ‘Red Hot chilli Pepper’ my wife and so had’ The Mick Jagger’ . All 3 burgers were fantastic

I love stickys food and don't normally write reviews but their fried chicken and chips was amazing. Absolute value for money when kfc is more but less value. They make KFC look like amateurs. Move over colonel there's a new fried chicken superstar in town!All joking aside this is a lovely place ran by super people and their food is epic and customer service is top notch. Will be back for sure!

Burgers are unreal, definitely not had anything close to this. Staff are friendly and helpful and they even have a dog menu. In fact, they practically insisted that we bring the dog!Have only had the beef burgers so far, but the new chicken ones look amazing as well.

We came here for lunch on Friday and we were completely blown away by the food. You can tell a lot of thought and effort has gone into creating this menu, the burgers were absolutely different level. The app we used to order our food was really easy to use and the music they played was fantastic. All in all, we had a really great experience.

Been wanting to visit for a while and it was worth the post lock down wait. Food was delicious - we had amazing burgers, great ordering system by scanning a code and staff were helpful and accommodating when we struggled to find something the fussy one would like. Have been to Sticky Fingers during a night out on more than one occasion but now they are serving food we just had to try the burgers!The burgers were big, messy and delicious - fully hit the spot! We also got to try their loaded fries with fried chicken, which were particularly fantastic!Prices are reasonable and they also have a great range of beers to choose from - will definitely be back!

This is an modern corner bar stuffed with rock photos and a diner type feel. Craft beers and ciders are on the pumps and these are quite quaffable. What sets this apart is the range and standard of pies on offer. Quite simply they are superb! My steak, Guinness and black pudding pie was delectable. Served in an enamel bowl, floating in gravy and accompanied by a mound of mushy peas and sweet potato fries , this was food for the gods. I could quibble that there was no English mustard on offer, ditto chips, and, being from Sheffield, a pie without Hendos lacks a little something. But hey, you don't stumble on pies this good so dig in and enjoy.

I was recommended Sticky Fingers to try the pie mash and peas. Although I enjoyed the food the draught beer was more enjoyable in my opinion.

I use this bar on a regular basis, once or twice a week, for a drink and a game of chess. It's friendly, the drinks are decent quality and reasonably priced, and the music is pretty good.However, this clearly depends on the person in charge of the bar. Today the barman on the mid-afternoon shift was clearly having a bad day. Depressing music and a depressing attitude which virtually chased us out of the place.However bad day your day there is no need to take out on the customers who help to pay your wages.Disappointing.

Sticky Fingers has a relaxed atmosphere on the nights that live musicians play, but the place feels like something is missing. Has the feel of a commercial business and comes off a bit of a gimmick, but overall it's not a bad place during the week, with a half decent selection of draft beer & bottles. I've been a few times, and on more than one occasion overheard the musicians having chew with the venue over pay for the evening, which really killed the night for me.

This place has the best pies ever. The music is a little loud on a night but the drinks ate fine and it is worth going just for the pies. Best pies ever!

Quaint little bar on one of the corners of linthorpe road. Done out lovely, bar stools that are actually comfy! Had cocktails £6 each which was lovely. Was about 6.30 sat evening and quiet but heaving when we walked past about 9.30pm

I had been to the place a couple of times before but last night was the first time that The Heavily Brothers had played there as a duo. What a cracking atmosphere and a great crowd. Loved every minute of it.

Sticky Fingers has a loosely Rolling Stones rock theme. Great range of Kooky beers and a wee stage where they regularly put artists on. A lovely atmosphere and a great little bar.

Staff are always great, and the pie and mash is the best around. Had the piejackers steak Guinness and black pudding pie with mash and gravy, proper food with proper booze to go with it! Can't fault it.

Staff no where to be seen, when finaly served waited ages for a pie, that was dry and mash was cold, people just seemed disorganised. Atmosphere was dead as we were only customers. Drinks very expensive and place cold, we were freezing.

Had drinks on a Saturday afternoon with friends. Bar was quite quiet but background music was good, cocktails were lush, good, friendly service. Was busier later, didn't give full rating as it was cold all day, had lovely Bailey's not chocolate which hit the spot. Not been in when a band is on so can't comment. Highly recommend this bar

Stopped in here for a drink on a staff night out, wasn't overall impressed. The general theme of the bar is pleasing, it's quirky and different from the usual places in Middlesbrough. However I wasn't too impressed with the drinks prices in comparison to quality. Ordered two cocktails and paid £13.90, so not too expensive for cocktails but the amount of time I had to wait for them and the quality of them just didn't seem worth it. I'd return to this bar again but probably would not bother ordering cocktails.

Visited a few times & went again for drinks with a friend. Lovely place, friendly staff, great music (1 in 4 songs are The Beatles), & a good drinks selection. Atmosphere was relaxed & I look forward to my next visit.

The Pie Jackers Pies here really are the best Pies in Town........ really interesting flavour combinations and they look fantastic too!!! and thin, crispy pastry on them is the Tops!!!

Dropped in for q quick pint whilst looking for somewhere to eat. I had the Brooklyn Lager which was pretty good and my wife had a standard lager which was okay. A little more expensive than some of the other bars in the area perhaps.

A quirky and interesting bar. Nice selection of beers and good atmosphere. Although the guy at the bar who had definitely had several too many did make my mum a bit uncomfortable or we would have stayed for another. It's ok to tell someone they've had enough y ' know. I'd definitely go back
