The Rylston in Hammersmith and Fulham

We enjoyed this pub when it was the Rylston (RIP dough balls) so we’ve been keen to check it out under new ownership. We tried a few things from the menu and were really impressed with the quality of the food. If like me you’re a bit skeptical of fusion concepts, give this place a try - it has a few classic pub dishes with a twist and a few more authentic Indian dishes, but we tried and enjoyed both

I came with a large group of 30 with EF Tours. They had a special menu for us with a traditional English meal – cottage pie, or what we call shepherds pie in America. A delicious dessert was served as well, but what I was so impressed about was the “add-on” options. High school students I was chaperoning certainly prefer more choices, and those with special dietary needs certainly need options as well. Very grateful to have had dinner here. We were served quickly. The food was tasty, and the servers were friendly, and diligent. Hhghly recommend! If you have a group, call ahead and make plans like EF Tours did because they were ready for us!

So glad this place had changed hands. They’ve done a great job, this is some of the best pub food you’ll find around. Amazing place.

The food was delicious. The servers were kind and the food came out fast.

Eton Mass was literally just whip cream with cheap strawberry sauce and tiny slice of a mid strawberry. Garlic bread had like no garlic. Lettuce was a sad excuse for a salad. She’s perds pie was alright. Service was very nice though.

Amazing cottage cheese! Very delicious! Garlic bread was amazing too! Didn’t really like the green stuff, but oh well. Workers were all very friendly and efficient! Food was served quickly! Overall 10/10 experience.

I had the Shepard’s Pie and it was delicious. Also had a pint of beer, loved the hand pumped taps.

We came in with a group of over 80 people and they handled it with grace and ease! Great food and the staff were so kind!

We just had a lovely dinner here! We had a reservation for 90 American middle school students and chaperones. The food and service was great, we had the best dinner experience of our week in London. Cottage pie and Eton mess was our menu. It was served quickly and hot. Give them a try with your group large or small.

The cottage pie was wonderful and the staff was very courteous. The Eton Mess was fabulous as well. Small town feel, warm and inviting.

Not only is the food delicious but the decor is down right beautiful. If you come try the Eton Mess absolutely delicious, ate it all before I could get a pic.

There used to be a wonderful cafe with excellent cuisine. It's very bad now. The food is okay, but.... We waited for our order for more than 40 minutes, there were few people in the cafe. They brought completely cold food. Disappointed. Portions are small. I don't recommend it. They've gone bad.

Walking through Fulham today was Amazed to see a beautiful new kid on the Block - A gastro pub called Elephant And Barrel . Wow what a lovely concept created by the enthusiastic Team , Tried the freshly prepared wood fired pizza with jack fruit topping - Simply superb 👏 Being vegetarian was surprised to see many dishes for us , my wife tried the traditional kerala paratha with White sauce based Korma . The pub has an excellent back garden ideal for the family get together . Wishing this new entrepreneurs the very very best for their future endeavours. Nice atmosphere. I wouldn't say value for money. They put VAT and service charge on top of the prices listed(so bare this in mind when ordering). Staff are friendly, decor is nice.

Great new place with amazing food. Never thought I would be able to have beef fry with parotta while having pints in a pub after work with friends in the UK. Food was very authentic made me feel like I was back home. Can't wait to come back again next week!

Really cosy pub serving amazing food. We had a meat (beef) and a vegetarian (jackfruit biryani) dish and both were absolutely fantastic. Tasty, plentiful portions and very reasonably priced. The service is so lovely and got great recommendations on drinks. Didn’t take a picture of the desert but the pineapple vermicelli payasam was superb!! Excited to go back and try other things on the menu!

I had the pork belly and it was incredible and their bread is genuinely the best I've had in a restaurant I could have eaten a whole plate of it and been satisfied! Really recommend, it is such a gorgeous place and their beer garden isn't open yet - but when it is I will be there enjoying their chilli chips that looked very tasty on the neighbouring table. Also need the recipe for their spicy mash potato dish because it was otherworldly. The rice pudding was such a gorgeous dessert and loved that they had a thin layer of brulée on top, it really elevated the taste!

Went to Elephant and Barrel over the weekend and what can I say the food was absolutely amazing not only was it tasty but it was well presented ! The Fish biriyani covered in an omelette is a must, loved the chilli chicken, the prawns, okra fries and the parathas bread were sensational so flakey! The pizza were also yummy; highly recommend the pork one! Cannot wait to go there again! Also, the decor inside gives such a warm atmosphere we stayed there for hours! And let’s not forget the staff; they were so welcoming and accommodating and so helpful.

We absolutely loved every single dish we tried, and the amazing staff enhanced our experience throughout our evening. If you're looking for some delicious food, a great selection of drinks and excellent service - all in a warm, cosy (yet modern) pub, I would definitely recommend coming here

An afternoon late lunch after visiting BBC Earth Experience. We arrived a little early for the 3pm opening, but the delightful Polish lady in charge opened up and let us in. The menu is limited, but what was on offer was delicious. I had salt and pepper squid and my husband loaded nachos for starters followed by chicken and mushroom pie and haddock and chips. The portions were very generous and well cooked. The service was great friendly and welcoming, but also very efficient. I am sorry not to have asked the Polish lady's name as she was a real credit to the place and made us feel very welcome. It is doubtful we will ever return as our trip up to that part of London was for a particular purpose. However, if you are in the area and want a well cooked meal, The Rylston is certainly worth a visit.

Despite the large restaurant being empty apart from 2 people, we were told the only option was to sit outside. In December! We were on our way to see Chelsea FC and arrived in London earlier than expected. We had walked past the Ryslton many times before so decided to give it a try. It was 4:30 in the afternoon, the signs on the window said "home fans only" and you could see it was empty apart from 2 people. As soon as we walked in we were told that we had to sit outside if we didn't have a reservation. I asked if every table had a reservation in the next couple of hour? But was bluntly told sit outside or not at all. We went elsewhere and will continue to do so in future. If they were fully booked, why not put up a sign to that effect rather than suggesting home fans could enter? Or just be a bit more polite when turning people away? PS - since found that if you go the their website and try to book online, it says the restaurant is permanently closed

Great food and beer with friendly staff. Went on a Monday night with 1/3rd off prices.

We ate outside and the staff turned on the heater located on the roof. It was a bit cold outised and we were confortable. We ordered fish and chips and the vegan pie. Both were outstanding but I admit the vegan cottage pie was even better.

Accommodated in the outside beer garden (which was warmly heated despite being a cool evening) without a booking on a busy Saturday night. Friendly service from most staff and a delicious Parma with chips. Will return.

Very nice place to hold a conversation with your bestie and enjoy nice food as well!!! We had sweet potato fries, nachos with cheese, Easy Living Pale and Blue Moon beer and everything was amazing!!! The waitress was efficient, nice and warm with us. Those things make the difference and I think me and my friends will come back 100% sure!!! 🤩👍🏻

This is a roast dinner that I ryly, ryly love. I eat here a fair bit because it's not only close to home, but it's genuinely one of the best roasts in SW! Bold statement, I know. But in terms of a welcoming vibe, value for money, FREE cauliflower cheese, and always perfectly done meat and vegies, how can one resist? Pictured here are both the pork and the beef roasts. I can't go past the pork- get some pork on ya fork! However, both are just devine, damn fine; one used to be a swine... Had Sunday roast here and it was wonderful. The fish and chips were also very tasty. Nice atmosphere and outdoor seating.

Visited with my brother for nostalgia, as we used to live there many moons ago. Was called The Norman Arms then. Lovely and clean. We didn't have time to eat, so we didn't see a menu. It has changed quite a bit from the early 80's.

Wide selection of food and beverage options, plenty of vegan choices and friendly service.

Chips come out burnt alright 4 a drink in the garden but wouldn't recommend it.

No Idea how they made it but I have to admit it was one of the best chicken I ever had ( and I'm picky person ) it wasn't dry or overcooked, was perfectly cooked. Vegetables 'to the tooth ' great combination with gravy sauce. Busy places, food served without rush. Table service makes everything easier.

Some of the best mussels I’ve ever had and very good value for money. The staff are all very lovely too!

I go into the rylston at least twice a month or more. I’m not really sure what’s going on with the food, the last couple of trips including today my food has been way over cooked. I normally I love the food. I’ve never complained only today.

Sunday roasts were very good I had vegan wellington, never eat vegan, I don't like fake meat, this was veg, lentils and more, vegan gravy was top, real roast spuds A bit more cheese sauce on the cauliflower would be good Mary the lady that looked after us was really nice and did a good job Not a fan of the plastic flowers Mention Elaine 😁

They have a lovely beer garden and the lady serving us was very nice and patient as we were waiting for a late party member. The fish and chips were spot on!

Really friendly service. The chips and fried squids were really well made. My friends and I ordered sunday roasts with beef, pork, and vegan wellington. My favorite was beef, and my friends were vegan wellington. (none of us were vegan or vegetarian)

Always come to The Rylston for the pub quiz on a Thursday, great fun with family and friends, good atmosphere and Charlie is the best host!

I couldn’t celebrate Mothers Day as I was working, so the whole family came to The Rylston on Friday. We were 4 adults and two children and we had the best food. My adult children were so impressed. Staff were so kind and patient with the children. Could not have picked a better restaurant. And the bill was HALF PRICE!!!! Would highly recommend

The Rylston has amazing food and great drinks. They even offer discounts (monday -50% off all day, tuesday - friday from 3-6pm) which was amazing for me as a student durin my time staying in London. I really loved their salt&pepper squid - to die for! All the food I tasted was amazing and I loved their pub quiz on thursdays. Will miss the Rylston and the quizzes now that I'm back home in Austria.
