The Rustic Pizza Co in Doncaster

It is a new place so was nice to visit it first time. Did not like the cooler blowing down on my head and it was quite messy at the bar with lots of odd stuff around the area in the corners. The desserts glass windows looks quite messy too and needs attention for a good design and representation.

Booked for a 40th birthday party with 11 people and they just couldn't cope with the large booking......waited over an hour for food to arrive.....then it came out in drips and drabs so we didn't enjoy a birthday meat together. Alot of food went back as it was not up to standard....very disappointed.

Went yesterday and ordered 2 pizzas and 2 beers, it came to £41 which IS on the pricey side but it was the best pizza Ive ever had - sat out by the lakeside, the service was great and good arrived quickly. Cant wait to go again!

Been here quite a few times now and the food is always lovely, I would give the pasta a miss, can be very up and down. But can't go wrong with the starters and pizza, service can sometimes be really slow depending on what day you really.

I've been here on a few occasions now and I've enjoyed my visits immensely every time. The food is so delicious and the lake makes a fine addition to the atmosphere of the restaurant. Doncaster is a better place for having The Rustic Pizza!

Staff are very helpful! Had an issue with just eat delivering my order but the staff at rustic were super helpful and went above to help me with something that wasn’t an issue on their end.

Poor everyone and got poos from the place and poor service and even table light ls keeps going off after replacing 3 lamps

Delivery over 1 hour late despite over 5 hours in advance! The price of the food, the fact it’s delivered on a bike is disgusting! Arrived battered and stone cold!

I’ve been a few times now and each time it gets better! I’ve seen mixed opinions on this place and every time I go it’s amazing. the waitresses are very knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble. Me and my friends always seem to go back to this spot and we normally try something new every time. We went on a Wednesday night this time, its a place that’s ran well and food and drinks came quick! I always recommend this restaurant to my friends and family and they always say how good it was.

The food was really good, very tasty. The pizza was very nice and the pasta dish was excellent. We came here when it first opened a few years ago and put the issues down to just that however, the issues now are exactly the same. There are far too many staff and yet the service is still very slow with people left wait to order, waiting to pay, waiting for drinks etc. This isn't because of a lack of staff but loads of staff who stood around talking, looking at the tills (with their backs to the customers), stood around the service hatch waiting for food (whilst its still being cooked), and generally not looking for what needs doing in the restaurant or keeping track on what customers are waiting for. Theres no one taking any sort of control about what is happening front of house. They need a front of house manager to properly organise the staff and give direction as to what needs to be done. They could then manage with half of the staff they currently have and service would be smoother. The other thing that was really off putting was the kitchen staff in their uniforms stood outside smoking.

Top quality pizza with great ingredients. Cut above the usual. Prices weren't offensive for the quality either, would recommend.

Lovely, interesting food, reasonable prices, great selection of beer, ale etc and the staff are wonderful.

Bit noisy for us older ones . But it was run up to Christmas . First time visit but will be back 2025 .

I have been to rustic pizza co lots of times with my partner, and it’s always been amazing! This time I went with my family as a party of 8 and it was fab from start to finish. The staff are all kind and bubbly to speak to. I had a the American hot pizza which is my regular meal I get when I go but after seeing the lasagne my sister had I might change my mind! The food is incredible. It looked a really busy night but nothing was too much trouble for the waitress. I never leave reviews but people need to know how great this place is! I wish I took pictures but I always forget! Thankyou to the staff for a great night.

Came here for a family meal on a Saturday evening and that was probably the mistake ! Looked great if you were here as a couple as the service appears so much better but this place is not set up for a large group . Waited over an hour for a meal while everyone else in the restaurant was served before us ! Took ages for the drinks to come and for the table to be cleared !

Beautiful food, & quality staff

Visited on Saturday late afternoon as a family of 5. We were sat straight away and drinks orders taken pretty quickly. We ordered 2 kids pizzas, a lasagna, a carbonara and an American hot pizza with garlic fries on the side. All were delicious and decent portions, especially the kids pizzas and they all arrived after 20mins tops. Little mix up with the bill at the end but it was quickly rectified. Would definitely visit again.

Mi familia y yo fuimos por algo de comer a ella pizza rústica co por primera vez ayer, y sin duda volveremos! Las camareras son encantadoras y amables. El servicio era excelente y la comida era hermosa también! Parecía una noche ajetreada en el restaurante, pero la comida salió bastante rápido y como digo el servicio era excelente. Y la vista es absolutamente increíble. No puedo recomendar la pizza rústica lo suficiente.

Went for my birthday celebration with my family and two toddlers. It was a really lovely atmosphere and the two girls were made to feel welcomed by everyone. Will be back !

Realmente me gusta este lugar debido a la decoración y la ubicación, pero por desgracia la comida no es genial. Mi pareja tenía una pizza y son bastante pequeños en comparación con otros restaurantes italianos en los que comemos y los ingredientes eran escasos. Tenía pasta carbonara que estaba muy seca, sin salsa. No estoy seguro de si es así como lo hacen o si había estado de pie debajo de una lámpara de calor. Me temo que no volveremos.

Have tried Rustic Pizza 3 times now and I really want it to be great as the location and restaurant are both really nice. Food and service again was average. Service slow and although not unfriendly or anything the waitress gave ‘ job is boring ‘ vibes. I had Carbonara and it wasn’t great it was very dry and I realise the bacon in this dish is pancetta but it was literally all fat and no bacon and was not cooked crispy so left all the bacon. Keep saying let’s go again and give it another go because love the venue but food and service disappointing again.

Rude staff and low quality food.

On Sunday 29 Sep 2024 we went in Rustic pizza for dinner at 7.50pm as the restaurant will be closed at 9pm and the staff was so rude to us. They asked us to take seat and then after we figured out our menu they said we don't serve any food only drinks you can order. It was like more than an hour before the closing of restaurant and still they don't allow us to order food. The staff was so rude and we felt embarrassed infront of other coustmers.

Great atmosphere & fabulous food. Went to celebrate a friends birthday (8 of us). Pizza’s, burgers & pasta dishes were all great & food was hot.

We've just had a meal here for our son's 12th birthday. Every thing we ate was amazing, the pizzas are sublime. My son had the mozzarella sticks and a garlic bread and said they were perfect. The garlic chips are out of this world and both pizzas ordered were perfect. We had the salted caramel brownies for dessert, they kindly didn't charge us for the birthday boys and brought it with a candle and even sang. We couldn't fault the service at all, it was ab perfect meal.

Found this by accident while staying locally. Food very good, drinks expensive but overall worth it. Would recommend a visit if in the area. Staff friendly and efficient.

Great night at Rustic Pizza Co. Lakeside Doncaster, Friday night was incredibly busy, food took longer than usual due to this, without having to complain about the delay staff attentively provided a round of drinks in the house, this was highly appreciated and made a world of difference, we are the laid back type when it comes to waiting, we understand peak times and how busy the staff are, so to our delight being looked after in such a great way was fantastic, it made the world of difference, when the food arrived it was cooked to perfection, the evening entertainment was a violinist, playing an array of songs from all eras, I highly recommend the Smoked Salmon Alfredo and the Rustic Plant Burger, sadly desserts had all been gobbled up before we could sample them this time, we will however be back again, perhaps not on a Friday due to everyone coming to enjoy their final day at work before the weekend starts, the staff have gone above and beyond in catering for us, cannot fault them at all.

Hi All Firstly, hard to find.This was due to our satnav. Toilets spotless alwsys check before eating. Ambience of resturant 100%. Parking good 100%. They had a change over yesterday of beer, trying new things, waitress had no idea of the things on offer.Love trying new things, but staff shouuld have an unerstanding of new offers. Did not book turned up, seated well,around 16.00 pm. Service , been seated for a while, no drinks.Had to catch the eye of a waitress to get drinks. Three tables served drinks before us, who arrived after us. When raising this , waitress told me little black thing not working, and lazy staff, do not put on charge .Well, if you new this, you would be on board to make sure, we are catered for ? We ordered the starter for two antipasto £15.95.Amazing, best we ever had, OMG. Blòody brilliant, and had a few. I nearly had to leave, based on food over load. Best ever.Brillant. Ordered the following; Starter as above. 100 % Pizza amazing, Must say amazing and had eduja. Brilliant. Tasty, OMG.100%. Fries were shocking, Absolutely gross Not good. Tried this because of local gent trying to do good buisness Doncaster . Gent done well. Will i go back, 100%. Look at staff and trainings Setvice needs looking at. Over-all, Brilliant for Doncaster.

We went there with friends tonight. Nice atmosphere, well laid out and clean. Two problems, and I rarely raise problems. 1. Minor: when you bring wine to the table, don't bring it opened. You want to know the bottle is freshly opened and genuinely the wine you have ordered. 2. Minor: when a guest says three times that they won't be having wine, don't bring them a wine glass. Same goes for starter, no, I won't be having that, oh here's a plate anyway.... 3. Major: do not repeat a starter on your menu as if it were a full sized salad. There are three salad mains on the menu, one is actually a starter and certainly not a meal. When I queried, I was asked if I would like to chose something else, but seeing as mine was the last to arrive by a good five minutes and the other three dishes at our table took twenty minutes to arrive, no, I did not want wait and then be sat eating a main when everyone else has long finished. Is that OK? Asked the waitress. Well, no, I answered, but hey.... Thanks for the deceptive menu and the staggered serving of mains. Not amused. Mains salads should all be mains, and I shouldn't have to assess the prices to ascertain one from the other (the other two salads were meat/salmon, so a vegetarian salad at five pounds more, so that wouldn't give it away anyway). Bad taste left, rather than deliciousness.

Had a lovely walk around the Lakeside and came across The Rustic Pizza Company. What a beautiful peaceful location as we had chose to sit outside overlooking the Lake. The service was great and we didn’t have to wait too long for our food to arrive. The starter was delicious which unfortunately can’t be said for the main. My daughter is Gluten Intolerant so we shared a Gluten Free Pizza. It was rather bland unfortunately. The tomato base tasted like it had come out of a tube. It was supposed to be roasted Mediterranean vegetables but it only came with spiralling red onion and courgette. The pizza base was like cardboard both in taste and texture. I thought it was because it was gluten free but was assured by my daughter that it was awful. She said it was the worse gluten free pizza she’s experienced. Maybe this review can be helpful to the management to hopefully source a more desirable recipe using better quality Gluten Free products.

We felt really let down by our visit here today. The staff were lovely, but the food was tasteless. The pizza bases were prepackaged, lacked taste and had too much salt. The tomato sauce on the base was quite bitter and left a nasty taste in the mouth. My daughter had a piece of plastic (I assume from the base packaging) on her pizza. All in all, not a great experience. It promised so much and we felt really sad that it didn't deliver.

Lovely food! the pizza was all very nice especially the mushroom garlic bread however service was seriously abysmal, had to ask for everything, and even chase things up. No one collected our plates even after half an hour of finishing, and when I asked for the bill, it took another half an hour for them to bring the card machine out, despite the staff standingn around looking bored, should be better for the price of food!

The Rustic Pizza Co has a lot going for it with its delicious pizza and cozy ambiance. However, the service fell short of expectations. We weren’t given plates or cutlery, which was frustrating, and despite wanting to stay longer and try desserts, no one came to take our order. The food is great, but the service needs significant improvement

I’ve been here four times now, unfortunately the quality of the food is really inconsistent. I had the Pesto Arancini starter on all occasions, twice it’s been decent but on the other two occasions, bland and tasteless. The lasagne, I had on my first visit and thought it was decent. Not really a massive fan of how Italian restaurant in this country put them together (slop in a dish) however it tasted pretty good, plenty of beef and ragù. The last time I went, it was miles off, completely different, tasteless slop with very little beef or ragù. Way too much béchamel sauce, felt rushed. No better than a microwave lasagne. The staff are nice but I get a feeling they aren’t trained very well. Around 10 minutes in a half empty restaurant before being asked for drinks, no apology. Nobody asked how the food was until collecting plates when we were done. The location is nice and the restaurant itself looks nice (minus the toilets). I can’t really recommend this place however. It’s expensive to eat out now, I can tolerate some issues with service but inconsistency with food that drastic, just isn’t good enough. Last time was likely my last time after the awful lasagne.

The food was sub-par, the pizzas were rubbery/doughy and it made it difficult to eat using the cutlery we had and what made it even worse was there were so many flies flying about which is not nice when you’re trying to eat a meal. I know it’s difficult for a place to do anything but when I first mentioned it to a member of staff, I said is there a door open to which she replied no there isn’t but the front door was visibly open. If they are going to open the doors they need to put things in place like incense to try and deter flies. Another comment that was made was unfortunately we are near a lake but again I can’t see anyone enjoy a meal when they have several flies flying around you when you’re trying to eat. Maybe investing in some fans or air con so you don’t need to open the doors may help with this in future. Then to top the evening off I wanted to order a dessert but I have a nut allergy which I declared to them….for the restaurant to say I couldn’t have ANY desserts not even ice cream/gelato because of the risk of cross-contamination is quite frankly unacceptable. It’s basically segregating anyone with an allergy or food intolerance, which was a big shame. I had to sit there whilst everyone else had one!! I have actually been before and enjoyed it hence it was recommended as a work meal night out but after last night we won’t be returning anytime soon.

🤩🍕🍟🧄That's a mighty fine tasting 😋 pizza 🍕🧄🍟♥️ Hmmm really good pizza, we had a walk round lakeside and decided to give this place a go. We hadn't booked, but they managed to fit us in. There was some live music being played adjacent the bar, difficult to hear as it was busy, and a lot of chatting going on including our table 🤩😁 We ordered our drinks and then a few minutes later the pizza 🍕 (veggie for me, margarita for the kido and a pepperoni for the better half) a side of garlic 🧄 fries 🍟 also 🤤 #really-tasty For dessert we had some ice cream 🍨🍦 from the counter, yummy lemon 🍋 flavour. The place is really nice inside. The table service was good and the staff were friendly. The meal was reasonably priced. 3 pizza, fries, 3 drinks (one wine) two scoop ice cream circa £60 The toilets were clean and tidy. Access is good ♿ We'd definitely visit again. Thanks for hosting us ♥️

Very poor, ordered rustic burger, bacon undercooked for me & greasy, asked for this to be cooked more. Chips a tiny portion & pointed out half a portion, after 40 minutes & my husband finishing his, I am still waiting?? Had to call waitress over. At this asked for the bill as my meal had not arrived back.. Told it had been waiting and would be taken off bill but unfortunately night already ruined. Will not be returning, service very poor, not askedif everything was ok.

Unfortunately I can't give any stars for food because I have no chance to try it lol On your website it says that you serving breakfast from 9am but the girl from the bar said you do not anymore. Please update it!

Just want to say a massive thank you to all the staff for all there help with my daughter Kiera’s birthday dinner she and all her friends had a wonderful evening and the food was amazing everyone was so helpful we cannot thank you enough and we will definitely return. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What I want from a meal out is good food, good service, value for money; and a comfortable ambience in which conversation is a pleasure. This place has all except the latter. It is a large room with a low ceiling which amplifies the noise and on this occasion (5.30pm) conversation was near impossible without shouting across the table. It's a shame really and enough to make this my first and last visit. Be aware!

The food was excellent, nice view of the lake and a good atmosphere inside. A couple of things wrong on the bill including something we didn't even ask for.

Had a lovely family meal here. Nothing is too much trouble! As I'm not a big eater I just had a few starters while the kids enjoyed their meals with a generously ample amount of fries! My partners pizza looked delicious and cooked to perfection with his fave toppings added... thankyou to our servers Ruby and Chloe, a credit to your team! Also thankyou to the chef Nathan!

Firstly I'll start by saying I've eaten pizzas in many many countries and outside of Italy only this meal and ones in Dublin have come close. The food was authentic, tasty and well priced. The setting was very nice too, handy buzzers on the desks for service, drinks or the bill. Three anpr camera for 1hr so as you enter the premises use the touchscreen on the left to enter your registration.

Absolutely appalling service and extremely defensive and disrespectful supervisor and owner.! After having 35 years experience in the restaurant business ,this was by far the worst customer service I've ever encountered.! The meal was disorganised chaos which was clearly seen from our non existent service.There was no communication from management to staff as they were stood chatting rather than actually checking if tables needed assistance .The service button on the table wasnt working therefore had to 3 times flag a waitress down for assistance. We waited for over an hour for our meal which then snowballed as we had only just finished our mains when we were asked to vacate our table.This was totally unacceptable.!We asked the reason and was given 2 excuses which were not our problem . We were offered free drinks and desserts at the bar which wasn't available when we left the table. The lack of communication between managers was evident.! This is when it turned extremely personal as the supervisor approached our table and literally flung the menu and bill on the table and rudely announced 'there's your bill'! and walked away.We were absolutely mortified at her disgusting,rude attitude and I called her out on how disrespectful she was to us to then be approached by the owner who asked us to leave or he would call the police.As we got up he insinuated I was drunk! I had never been so insulted and let him know in no certain terms that I'd had one drink ! There is a growing trend on your reviews regarding your defensive ,rude behaviour and lack of customer service.! The one positive we had was a free meal and had our desserts at Pizza Hut down road and fair to say the service was outstanding. I suggest the supervisor and owner go on a hospitality management training course as you have no idea how to run a restaurant or how to treat customers not blame them for your incompetence as the owner.! We will definitely not be returning.

Booked on spur of the moment and while the food was good the wait staff were a little on the slow side they also sat us in the middle of the restaurant with a pushchair which made leaving a tad on the difficult side having to disturb other dinners which isn't ideal really also it maybe worth looking at more allergen friendly dishes and dessert

Overpriced for the standard of food on offer. Bland soggy pizza,That are smaller than most Yes it has the Correct Ingredients to be a Pizza Napoletana but they have been put together with None of the skill required to make a quality pizza,shame really. We tried both a simple Margherita and a signature Caldo white pizza which didn't have any chilli flakes on that I could see. Soggy mess,lacked seasoning,very small amount of air pockets in the dough and no crisp crust with fluffy centre. Eaten in Naples many many times and they are never like this. Waitress never courtesy checked us to see if food was acceptable, never bothered us at all. Said nothing as we didn't want to upset the other people we were eating with. Front window messy, didn't look inviting from the roadside but friends had booked for us Hard Pass

Arrived without a booking so just had a drink. The staff were very busy as there were large groups in but the lovely Toby not only found us a table, but it was one of the best with views onto the lake.

Amazing pizza and the best halloumi fries I’ve ever had! I had a strawberry daiquiri and that was so nice too! Had the 3 scoop ice cream with bubblegum, ferrero rocher and brownie which was fab but I do wish I came in a waffle cone. Will definitely come back here!

Lovely restaurant with great food! Our server Toby was the star of the show! So friendly and helpful, what a lovely guy! Would definitely come again.

I have give this a 5 star rating solely because of the service we received from a young man named Toby. When we arrived at 5.50pm on Sunday 19th May2024 we were told by one of the ladies behind the bar (red hair and glasses) that there was no availability until 7.30pm. We were dissapointed at this as we could see available tables so I questioned this and Toby came to our rescue and said there was 2 tables available. The lady behind the bar continued to say there was no availability and after a few minutes of Toby going through the table plan with the lady she realised she had misinformed us and we did get a table. This misinformation could have resulted in us walking away and you losing £60 worth of custom. Thank god you have competent staff like Toby working there. Overall the food was lovely, very quick to be served and a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be visiting again. My partner has even said he will bring his clients as the place really impressed him!

Been twice now. First time at lunchtime, shared a pizza and chips. Service was good. Friendly staff who try to accommodate where they can. Enjoyed the pizza. Second time we had breakfast. It was a tad pricey, but we all enjoyed it except my son. His eggs weren't runny enough, but he didn't specify, so maybe partly his fault. Loved the outdoor seating area 😍

Food decent but the service wasn’t great and really lets it down. We weren’t offered more drinks or dessert. Sat with empty glasses for 20 minutes then decided to ask for the bill and leave. Would have stayed longer but felt like no one was even bothered we were there. No thank you or goodbye from any of the members of staff, two of which we passed on the way out. Won’t rush back unfortunately

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant, sides being forgotten, waiting and waiting for service after pressing service button, not having food in after ordering, being charge for 3 items we didn’t have, no organisation whatsoever, no apology, ruined my Saturday

1st time we went it was a really nice experience & good food, So we returned yesterday for lunch, We asked for a table outside, Food arrived & was not very good at all, Pizza was very salty & the Breaded Chicken was bland in taste. We asked for more drinks & waited more than 10 minutes before chasing the order. It appears if your not a regular then service is not good, we visited at 4pm on a Thursday afternoon & it wasn’t busy for us to receive poor customer service we spent £55 on food & drink The food & service was terrible.

Just been there tonight with Richard and Michelle from the Shoe Roon. 10 out of 10 for both service and food. Definitely go back next time I'm over in Doncaster. 👌👍🍺🍷

We had some delicious pizzas, a burger and risotto and everyone enjoyed their meal. We didn’t try any starters or deserts though. The wine was a little expensive. The staff were good and the lighting/ambiance was great. I was pleased the pizza was as good as it was when sampled in the wool market. We were the last ones out (not late) and we weren’t rushed which was appreciated. Georgia and Hannah looked after us very well.

When walking our doggies, we came across this pizzeria. It's located underneath The Travelodge at Lakeside. Which is very handy if you're staying there. As we had our dogs with us,they found us a table on the terrace at the back of the restaurant. Luckily, the evening weather was favourable, and there's a great view of the lake. We were just going to have a couple of drinks, but the pizzas looked so good. We just had to get our order in quick. As the last orders for food are 9.30pm. They serve Neopolitan style Pizzas. Our order was the Salami Misti £14.95 Salami, pepperoni, prosciutto, roasted peppers, balsamic red onions & mozzarella on a tomato base. Plus, a Nduja Aioli dip £1.50. It was absolutely delicious and went nicely with the Poretti beers we had. Finished off with some very nice Italian coffees. The staff were lovely and friendly. It's a very popular place, it seems,judging by how busy they were. We shall have to return and try some of their extensive menu as they don't just do pizzas.

Popped in for a quick lunch, Absolutely amazing, the pizza was delicious and sides so good. Service is perfect and so quick. Can’t wait to come back.

Oooooooh- Ive been to Rome and this remains one of the best pizzas Ive ever had. Thin, perfectly burnt crust, fresh toppings, filling but so delicious you cant stop eating! Nice music, nice decor, space between tables. Staff very friendly and patient. Also very clean, spacious clean toilets. And good parking out front.

Was busy on a Monday night. Food was delicious very hot. But service was slow.

Kitty looked after us all night. She is a credit to the team. We will definitely be back.

The atmosphere and ambience in here was perfect. The view on the lake really complements the restaurant. Kitty our waitress was very helpful with our drinks orders and recommending which items on the menu she would recommend. She was brilliant all night - kind and attentive. 5 stars

What a lovely place. I've been here twice so far and had a great time on both occasions. Regarding the food. It is excellent. The first time, I had the bruschetta and pizza. I liked the bruschetta, but I didn't love it. It was very rich for me. The pizza was nice but could've been crispier. The second time, I had the burger. This was excellent. I have no issue with the food as it's mainly personal taste; however, I do feel the chef puts a lot of effort in. The service from the staff is excellent also. What a refreshing change.

Was sat having a nice meal with the family (as you do). Bella was our waitress and she was bloody excellent!

We came here for a Sunday evening out. Starters came fairly quick, so did the drinks, 1 pint of Guinness instead of 1/2 a pint as the first mistake. Our Meal course took 1 HOUR to come (It was only 2 pizzas and 1 burger) The manager gave us a discount for the inconvenience, a gesture of goodwill and it was appreciated but we won’t be returning unfortunately.
