Great food and pleasant service.

Amazing staff, great food and when I left I was absolutely stuffed. Best service from the staff we've had from a restaurant in years. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

Service was excellent. Charging £8-10 for half a dozen small pieces of Pakora is taking the Michael. The nan was tasty.👍 Rice and curry again tasty enough but it was a very small portion for the price.🤔 so used to eating at sister establishments and coming away feeling stuffed. Drinks standard pricing. Overall a tasty meal but way too expensive considering portion sizes and competitors offerings. Would I eat again here... sorry no. Better view at the other establishments on the shore front for the same cost.

Order placed 2 hours ago for a delivery just after 7pm. And so delivery will be at 0855. Hmmm. Such poor poor service. And still waiting for food.

Wonderful flavours and plenty of meat. Really enjoyed. Our only criticism was that the Garlic Naan had no Garlic! Likely we were sent a plain Naan , even so we were very happy with our meal.

Rupee Room, never disappoints and the food is always quality. Tonight was no exception.

Really quick service for collection, nice staff to deal with as well. Food was really good, pakora was spicer than most places but good if that’s your thing. Naan breads were a little well done and the 2 vegan curries we got were a bit too similar even though they were marked as different but still really good. The sharing platter is good value as well, would’ve got the vegan one if there was the option to pick your curries. Will defo order again!

The order arrived exceptionally late (I even had to meet the driver on another street as he couldn’t find my house, despite it being easy to find) and cold, so it didn’t taste nice at all. The restaurant phoned to apologise and said they would give me some money back for the order, but then messaged me (via just eat) to say they would not be giving me any money back. Overall very poor service and very poor quality food.

Last Thursday 24th Octoberk, my partner and I had booked your offer of 2 courses for £10 per guest. Our final bill covering the 4 courses and 3 non-alcoholic beers came to £34.85. When questioning the price of a non-alcoholic beer as your website state £2.59 (for a non-alcoholic Cobra), we were told it was an old post. However, as the attached photo shows, your website content is copyrighted for 2024. You did not have the non-alcoholic Cobra but instead it was non-alcoholic Corona and charging £4.95 for one bottle is excessive (you can buy a box of 12 for £12 in the supermarkets) especially as your website states another price. This incidence caused the whole dining experience to be spoiled and until then, it had been a really pleasant experience with us really enjoying the food. Now, I do realise that we could/should have asked the price before ordering but having checked your website, we did not expect almost £5 for one non-alcoholic beer and we feel it was over-priced because we had booked your offer. You should not have one price online and then charge almost double that when people come to eat.

After a mediocre fish pakora - please improve the batter - a delicious main and naan made up for the starter.

The food was delicious and there are many vegetarian options. It's a nice vibe here and the service is very welcome and friendly. Can highly recommend it! There are also starters and desserts available, you can experience a whole indian meal! I had an veg Bhuna Curry with garlic Nan and a Chocolate Banana Dosa for desert and drank an Orange juice.

Wow! Probably the best curry we have had. Ever! We moved to Ayr 5 months ago and it was our first time having a curry takeaway here. Really great service. Food was so full of flavour. We will definitely be ordering from here again. 😊❤️

I usually have amazing food from here, tonight's biryani was tasteless and bland as was the "garlic" naan. Spiced onions were brown and smelt off. As a regular customer i will be trying somewhere new next time.

Well done ‘Team Rupee Room’ away from my home town of Leicester on holiday, staying close to Ayr, we had a wide choice of takeaways to choose from. We chose right. We collected from a very hospitable man, and got the food back to base, piping hot. Each dish was distinguishable from each other and full of individual flavours. Genuinely one of the best Indians in Scotland. Easily top 3 along side ; wee ghurka (east kilbride) & Virsa (armadale) Very rare ill write a review. However, the food is always incredibly fresh, and packed full of flavour. The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They tend to give you some freebies when ordering home delivery. I consume a ridiculous amount of indian food. Once again, genuinely one of the best Indians in Scotland.

This is the most authentic Indian I’ve had. My date and I enjoyed our meals very much. I had the South Indian curry as I love extra spiciness and it was perfect. Despite being spicy, you could taste all the flavors as the spice didn’t overpower the taste. My date enjoyed his Karahi paneer as well. The sides of mushroom rice and garlic naan were spot on too.

Food was Luke warm. No real taste to it, chicken was chewy and hard. Lamb sauce dish had no real flavour and was just a sauce with meat in it. Have had Rupee food before and was much better. Coconut rice was lumpy with powdered and really unappetising. Was not worth the money paid.

When we entered the restaurant we were greeted by front of house staff who were very helpful and very welcoming. I had King Prawn pakora which i thought was delicious the batter was light and the prawns well cooked. For main I had lamb Palak Palay which was well spiced and the lamb was so soft. Our Nan was fresh and well cooked. The others in our party also enjoyed their dishes and all our plates were cleared

When entering the restaurant you are greeted with a welcoming and very pleasant front of house named Umess. After looking at the menu we couldn't decide so Umess gratefully pointed out what he thought we would like. And boy was he right. The chicken bhuna was delicious and my daughter said her chicken Rogan Josh was the best she has tasted. We live in Glasgow but the next time we are in Ayr we will definitely visit ( Umess ) The Rupee Room.

Had dinner here this evening to celebrate my mother-in-law's 80th birthday. Ten of us at the table and the staff made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Food was served quickly and everything was delicious. Very generous portions and lovely fresh taste to everything. We were very well looked after by the owner and our waitress. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made our evening of celebrations very enjoyable. Massive thank you for making the evening special 🩷

Amazing restaurant, been in a couple of times and it has just been fantastic, food has been phenomenal (even for my mum who is very very fussy) and the service has been amazing. Very laid back atmosphere considering how high quality the food is. 10/10

Last time we were in Ayr about 5 years ago we came here and it was excellent, really good. Sadly this is no longer the case, the service was exceptional, very friendly greeting and really looked after us, unfortunately the food was poor and expensive. The Haggis and Chicken Pakora was dry and bland, I had Chicken Dopiaza, 3 small pieces of chicken, Naan wasn't fully cooked in the middle, 1 drink, 1 popadom, starter, main and Naan, £42 including tip for very average food.

Incredible curries. Lamb madras and tandoori were sensational!

5 small cubes of chicken in my meal and they were like rubber just horrible

Chewy lamb, undercooked chicken and missing prawns. The naan bread wasn't fresh but burnt and the salad consisted of a few strands of lettuce and onions squashed in a plastic bag with an old slice of lemon. Chef needs training infact just close this place down, decent restaurants do exist just not the rupee room.

I have eaten here on various occasions during the years and it has been ok. Ordered a meal for my friend and I and it was inedible. I opted for the uncomplicated Saag Paneer. It was so salty; like licking the inside of an empty salt water pool. When I phoned to complain was told no manager could talk to me and the phonee couldn't understand me. Really shoddy service not to mention awful food.

After reading reviews i was confused should i go or not but later decided to go. Tried this restaurant for the first time and absolutely loved it. We got good portion. The taste was brilliant. The service was also good. Highly recommend this.

Been coming here for a while and was pleased with food and prices, sadly won't be back, we were the only people in on a Saturday at 7pm and I know why we ordered two chicken main courses and two mango lassi. The waiter asked if we'd like poppadoms so we said yes, thought they were complementary, no beware it's nearly £6 for 2 poppadoms, 5 mins later the chicken dishes are served, my dish had the chicken cut into perfect cubes, was unbelievably hot and didn't taste nice, I believe it's microwaved, I don't believe the chicken was cut from fresh breast of chicken. The bill came to over £50. It's cheaper to get the train to Glasgow to get far superior food and a lot cheaper. We won't be returning.

In Ayr for 2 nights Airbnb. We both love curry and in 10 years have possibly one curry out or one takeaway per week, this was probably the tastiest food we have ever had. Poppadums and usual dips to start- lovely. Veg pakora and dips / lovely too. My wife is vegan and she was helped expertly by Umesh to get what she wanted, which was a Sourh Indian veg curry. She absolutely loved it, as did I with my King prawn Jalfrezi. Mouth- tinglingly good! Washed down by Cobra draft. It was a Monday night, quiet, but service attentive and on point by Umesh. Highly, highly recommended. Thank you.

Absolutely gutted to post this. I've ordered the same dish here for around 25 years. Till today I would have told you it's the best Lamb Saag I've eaten (it's the only dish I ever order anywhere so I have a lot to compare it to!). Unfortunately they've changed the recipe and it's a disaster. The texture is different, the flavour is salty and not spicy at all. Gone are the tomato chunks and the lamb cuts are fatty. I'm not angry I'm just disappointed. 😞 I don't want to base my rating on this one experience after 25 years of amazing food but if this version of lamb saag staying, I won't be. 😥

the rice was watery and salty. both curries were excessively spicy....korma was definitely not mild. Did not enjoy at all and was unable to eat most of it.

Very disappointed with the take away order that we had on 23 rd December 2023. We ordered. £149:90 in food and I asked if we would get complimentary poppadoms and spicy onions and there was also a mention of a discount for a large order but we ended up paying the full amount and the only poppadoms and onions were with a set meal which we ordered. My husband and I often get a takeaway for two and normally if it’s a full priced meal we get a small discount and always get free poppadoms and onions. The chicken and lamb kebab were definitely not worth the money. I did send in an e mail before writing this review but there was no reply. So if you are ordering a large amount of food check and double check what you are getting for your money!,

Great food if a little expensive....curries were good apart from the lamb dish 2 or 3 pieces of lamb were very fatty and inedible.....best pakora ive had in ages though . but need to trim and prepare there lamb better at these prices

Me, my partner and my brother came to Rupee Room late Saturday night as I was playing in a local pub and wanted to eat after it, it was around 10pm, it was the only place that appeared open near us. They must have been cleaning up and getting ready to close and I asked if it was too late for service. The staff were super friendly and let us sit and have a meal. The food was great and the service was brilliant They could have easily turned us away as the restaurant was almost empty by this time. Food was amazing, service was brilliant and good price. Takeaway order and was really disappointed. Portion sizes are reducing dramatically and the food is now bland. Really disappointed as we have been using the Rupee Room for years. Sadly tonight will be the last time as it was just not worth the money. Average food but overpriced. Sad

Went on Fri before 6pm. ( 2 meals for £17 ) ,was no mention on the 2 for £17 menu about extra for certain meals and asked waitress if all meals on menu was 2 for £17 and she said yes but on getting home we noticed we were charged £5 extra? , emailed them to find out why and was ignored … place went right down hill , won’t be back .

First time I’ve had a curry that’s watery, the chicken was not tikka and very chewy. The nan bread was very greasy. Couldn’t eat this I ended up basically spending £40 on popadoms and Coca Cola. I don’t know if you are just having an off day or have new cooks in but I won’t be ordering again.

food was great, very tasty, atmosphere put as 1 as there was only the 3 of us in as it was quite late. but for me it was the most expensive meal I've had. that was for 3 currys 2 rice, 2 nan breads 4 onion bajies, and 3 bottles of beer £94. must of put on some sort of surcharge which I didn't realise about. but over all food was great.

In spite of my postcode being on the order the driver phoned me to find out where my road was. I foolishly assumed that pakoras would automatically come with sauce - wrong, they didn't and finally the chicken tikka main was too salty to eat much of. The only item that wasn't salty was the paratha which didn't have much taste. Overall, very poor and won't be ordering again.

First time I have ordered from the rupee room and loved it ,huge portions really tasty and piping hot.

Terrible service. They marked it as delivered on time, so had to chase as it hadn't arrived, then they said the driver was on his way. An hour later and it was still not delivered. When it finally arrived it was stone cold and we had no way of heating it as we were in a campsite as they knew. £65 wasted on abysmal service with not even a small refund offered. How they stay in business is beyond me!

There is nothing like good Indian food, and this was nothing like good Indian food. I’ve persevered with Rupee Room but always disappointed. I ordered takeaway. Pakora were dry and overcooked. The korma didn’t taste like korma and chicken was dry and over cooked again. Everything tastes liked it’s been coated in (non Indian) herbs. Not for me.
