Great vibes and decor. Pints are a little expensive (where isn't tbh) but the selection is good.

I'll start off with the good! The staff at the bar are excellent, really friendly and lovely. And there is a great atmosphere in this pub. My review is about our disappointing meal. The food itself wasn't poor in quality, Pieminster pies are excellent always. We ordered the pie, mash, gravy and peas for £14.50. However when the pie came out I genuinely wondered where the mash was! I remembered eating this meal here before and it being a decent portion so was shocked to find about two sad tablespoons worth under the pie about 2cm deep 🤣 I had ordered with my partner and we were bought out a small pot of peas after our pies arrived. We waited for the other pot only to realise we were presumably meant to share the small portion in one pot between us. Such a shame you've chosen to reduce your portion sizes so much as it doesn't really make a proper meal now, which for £14.50 you'd expect. We should have taken a photo really to share on here as we were all laughing so much about how little mash we were served, especially as it's so ridiculously cheap to make so it doesn't even make sense to be so stingy, so at least we had a joke about it!

I highly recommend Adam Kingston. The Rumsey Wells is the only pub that has one, so why go anywhere else?! I asked him for a double vodka and coke and it's exactly what I got. Can't put a price on that level of service.

Several old guys meeting up for Christmas and spending the afternoon putting the world to rights. Very friendly and helpful barman.

We've always enjoyed a beer and sometimes food here after a busy shop in the city and on the way to St Andrews car park. A welcome relaxed break. Now we can say we've also enjoyed a fabulous party downstairs too in the cellar 🎉🥳🎈🎂👌

One of the best vibes in the city. Good music and even better drinks choices, the friendly and knowledgeable staff are always ready and happy to assist you. They also offer a selection of delicious pies and pizzas to quell your hunger needs. Pies can be served with mash mushy peas and gravy to make it a full meal, or just the pie for a quick snack. There are a variety to choose from and they will leave you full and satisfied. This is a very quirky pub and a must visit whilst you are in Norwich. There is also a small beer garden towards the back of the premises and an extra space downstairs when busy. If you want a good atmosphere, this is the place to go.

Whilst on Holiday in Norfolk, we had heard that Pieminister Pies were being sold at "The Rumsey Wells" in Norwich. So as we really enjoy eating those pies we headed there and it did not disappoint. The pub is not far from the centre of Norwich and we were welcomed on entry and as it was quite quiet we were told to just find a table we wanted to sit at and then order from the bar when we were ready. We ordered three pies and drinks (The pies come with a selection of extras including Mash, Peas, Gravy etc. all the way up to the Mothership which I had!). Once we had ordered and paid we did have to wait a while as the pies are obviously cooked to order, but when they arrived they were very well presented and hot. They tasted delicious and I was very satisfied that they met Pieminister standards! A very happy experience and would eat there again!

They specialize in pies so I had high hopes. Really tasty, will be back to try them all!

A great Norwich staple of pubs. They serve a great selection of pies and other meals. There's a nice outside courtyard round the back as well as a cosy downstairs which hosts music events. Unique interior design with all the walls by the bar covered with placemats which all have unique drawings on them.

Hot balmy evening in Norwich and a lovely little find. Great selection of ales from your Adnams to your speciality brews. The courtyard garden has a great vibe to it, and I can imagine an enjoyable evening with friends can be had. They also do a 'Pie and pint' menu and look tasty. Didn't try it as we were bouncing on. But yes, go, and if you're of an artistic slant... draw on a beer mat, and it will be posted up. Go, drink and enjoy.

Great music and lovely decor and atmosphere

Barman mis heard my food order resulting in one pie being incorrect. When given advice of turning the very loud music down a little so they can hear customers he was rude about the matter. I would suggest repeating an order back to a customer to confirm, especially when food is being ordered. On a more positive note my partner enjoyed his pie!

Good selection of drinks, particularly from the Adnams brewery. I have not eaten here but have heard it is above average for food.

Board games, nice smoking area and great beers on tap. Also a downstairs area for music on weekends, as well as a selection of DJs in the summer months. Staff are absolutely great too, no nonsense but wholly accomodating. They also do brick pizza and pieminster pies if you need a few bites to line the stomach

Has to go down as my favourite pub, brilliant and friendly staff members, great selection of drinks, hosts great events on a regular basis, Sacrilege being the highlight of them. Anytime I'm in Norwich I will be sure to have a drink there.

Finally found an Adnams pub in Norfolk and its atmosphere is great. If you want a drinking pub go here if you want a resturant look elsewhere.

Sells frozen food - and the staff (anglia Square NCH are bloody brilliant) Edit: Apparently I left a review for Iceland at Anglia Square on the Rumsey Wells site. To be clear, the Rumsey is actually a city centre pub, and a pretty decent one too! You can get a selection of pie mash and gravy if you're feeling hungry.

First time I had visited. Dog friendly. Didn't eat there just had drinks. Nice atmosphere. Bar staff courteous.

The Coaster pub. A visit is a must.

Really lovely outside area, went in the evening with the fairy lights on. Very busy inside so outside was much more relaxed. Only shame was they didn't have bottled water to buy, just tap water.

In several trips to Norwich over recent years we have returned here for a really good lunch to set us up for the day, quality ales and a really good Pie based menu… in a good pub setting. What’s not to like?

A fabulous range of drinks from eclectic spirits and craft ales are available. Plenty of seating, clean toilets and music that isn't too loud to talk make this venue buzz and crammed full of hipsters!

This place never really does anything for me. There is far better (cheaper) ale in the city and I've never found the service particularly pleasant. The atmosphere is energised though and the others seem keen on it so I am the minority on this

The Rumsey Wells seems like a nice proper pub that serves a good range of drinks. I did however go in there a couple of weeks ago with my father in law, brother and a few friends in the afternoon. There was 2 other customers who were already in the pub who happened to leave shortly after we arrived. They didn't complain about the noise (we weren't that noisy to be honest) but the barman then said we are only allowed one more drink as we were too loud. We were the only people in there at this time of the afternoon and weren't being especially loud. We though he'd be happy to have 6 customers who would have probably spent a couple of hundred quid in there but obviously not. There was no issue, we drank up and left, went to the pub across the road and spent our money in there instead. It was just a shame as I've enjoyed drinking in The Rumsey Wells in the past.....

Times change and on my last visit it was full of oldies having coffee and cake.. They still do DJ nights and stuff, but the beer was mediocre at best and I think they need to sort the cellar out in my opinion as an ex-drayman. Pleasant staff though.

I visited Rumsey Wells for food and drink and left very impressed! The drink selection was great and varied with options not commonly seen in other places, reasonably priced too and in the case of the Konig Pilsner I had, with the correct branded glass. The food was amazing, I had the moo+blue (Beef and Stilton Pie) with Mash, Mushy Peas and Gravy. Was hands down one the best Pies I've had in any pub and good value too. I also had a Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert which was also amazing. Finally the staff that did serve me were all friendly and all had a smile on their face. Will return without question.
