David and Evie were the two wonderful people who served us today at bottomless brunch. These two were lovely souls who treated us with the upmost respect. See you next time David and Evie.

Bland food, bland service, bland atmosphere. Hoping for a special Sunday lunch but it wasn’t to be: tasteless food, rushed disinterested service and an atmosphere as dead as a dodo. Not a place to return to again.

I have been going here for several years. In the light of the day, it could use a make-over. The upholstery and soft furnishings are looking worn. The food is fine although the service was poor on this occasion. We all have off days. Just make sure it stays in the day.

Rooftop garden Norwich. Lovely space. Lunchtime Friday. Sun shining blue sky. Great food. Octopus carpaccio starter very good. Spatchcock chicken for Main course. Recommended. Our first time visit we’ll definitely be back

Good food and friendly staff. The music was a bit loud for my husband, but he's nearly 70! Most customers were younger, and more trendy than us.

We held a private party at the Rooftop on one of their terraces and were so pleased we chose this as a venue. Ed, the event manager, was so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble either in the lead up to it or on the night. We had to postpone the event a couple of times due to illness but this was never a problem and they were so understanding of this. The actual night of the event went so well and all our guests commented on what a great venue it was and how good the food was. The new menu is excellent with there plenty of it and the room looked amazing with all the lights up. A huge thank you to Ed and all of the team there, everyone was so nice and helpful and we would have no hesitation in recommending them or choosing the venue again for another event.

First visit today and roast dinner was lovely, good service, would recommend.

Went here today for the first time after all the good reviews and unfortunately my experience was ruined by the food and wait times. The food took so long to come and when it did it was wrong so they had to send it back after doing so my family had finished there’s before mine even returned to the table. When the food did return to the table it was raw blood was pouring out onto my plate in the end I’ve had enough I got up and left. I did speak to the manager who was very professional and kind she did take the meal off my bill and gave us a 20% discount and assured me she will not put up with this and will have a word with the kitchen staff. Overall it was a bad experience but I guess the view made it worth going lol

Didn’t have food, did the cocktail class. Ed was really good. Funny and good to chat to. Would highly recommended, worth the money .

The most lovely welcome from Ed ! Evie was the most accommodating waitress with some amazing advice off the menu ! Mira cleared the table with speed ! Tom shared a new cocktail with us which blew our mind ! A new fave ! Jack held a conversation really well , very chatty and khan kept checking we had everything we needed. Best experience . Even better when you get to know all the amazing staff ❤️

The old management were way better used to be so much more relaxed and the food was way better quality too, turn up a few minutes early for your table they try get more money outta you by asking you to go buy a drink at the bar….just walked out and I wouldn’t return, it’s lost it’s spark like I said the old management were brilliant, not the same place anymore.

Had drinks on the rooftop to celebrate my birthday. Passion fruit martini was so good!! Such a gorgeous spot, especially on a nice sunny day ☀️

Went in December and it was amazing had a great time good staff and good food went now less than three months later everything was different staff forgetting things food was no good at all had to leave after and find somewhere else to eat terrible now would definitely not recommend

We went to rooftop gardens for a birthday celebration. First of all I must stress the service was excellent and we cannot fault that. However if it wasn’t for that and the nice fancy decor it would be very mediocre. I had a lamb burger which was extremely dry, (meat and roll). My partner had Mediterranean rice, while that had a nice flavour, the portion was very small and there were 2 large bits of bone which I presume was from the duck, so that was unpleasant. We ordered dessert and had the chocolate cake which we actually couldn’t eat due to how dry it was, the waiter did kindly take this off the bill for us along with all our other deserts that our party had as there were others who were disappointed with there underwhelming cheese board. For nearly £10 a dessert we expected a lot better. Also not sure if the toilets are linked to this restaurant as they are situated one floor down in the building, but they are an absolute state with empty beer bottles and one cubicle was covered In sick.

Me and my partner both agreed that the new menu is overpriced for what it is, and we were slightly disappointed when we saw our bill after finding it much harder to decide on our meal than usual with the new menu losing our favourite dishes and instead being very heavy on small plates. The main meal section isn’t as big as it was before. We both thought the quality of the food was good no doubt, yet still overpriced for what it was. If it wasn’t a busy Saturday night in Norwich, me and my partner would have probably moved to a restaurant with a menu that suited our preferences more. If you’re a fussy eater, I probably wouldn’t recommend as the dishes are hard to adapt. Of course, you should always do your research before deciding on a restaurant, but because we had visited before we didn’t expect such a large change. Please note the staff and atmosphere are always lovely though!

Food was excellent and great value, especially the Ribeye steak. Lovely venue as well. Special shout out to David who was an excellent host and made my 6yo very welcome.

Absolutely excellent restaurant. The service was amazing, as was the menu. Mira was amazing, so attentive and was really great especially with my indecisiveness! We were here tonight celebrating our anniversary and it was wonderful. Will definitely be coming again!

Our lovely waiter Bex made a birthday trip even more fab!! The Mezze sharing board is perfect to go alongside tasty small plates like Prego roll bites and truffle fries. And the dulce de lèche was a perfect sweet treat to finish the meal ! Thanks Bex :)

Myself and my husband booked a table for Valentine's night (our first one married). We were excited and picked this place because it's so pretty and has such a good reputation. We were very willing to pay whatever to have a lovely time. However, upon entering (literally walking through the door) there were two men behind the desk, I assume to greet people and get them to their tables. The taller one, with dark hair looked at us and said 'Jesus Christ', he turned his face away, I think he thought this would make him invisible- it did not. Now I think I appear more satanic in nature then Godly, so I feel this may have been a comment on us not looking 'the part'. The second man didn't speak at all. Maybe he was embarrassed by his colleague or maybe had the same feelings and didn't deem us worthy of speaking to us. I don't know. I offered my name for the booking and he walked himself to the table and we followed. The waitress, however was lovely and kind and asked us how we were. But by then we knew we very much wanted to leave. So, despite our plans to enjoy the Gold Package of their Valentine's set menu- we decided we didn't want to stay somewhere that deemed us not good enough and left instead. The more I think about this, the more I am sure it was a comment on us- he looked right at us as we entered said it and turned away hoping we wouldn't notice. I am a little bit alternative and plus size. But our money is as good as anyone else's. And we deserve the same respect. We had a fantastic night somewhere else and we will not be recommending this place to anyone.

Went here for Valentine’s Day and was unaware there was a set menu with very little options. We sat in the outdoor area and it wasn’t very busy out there but we had to ask one of the servers where our drinks were as it had been around 35 minutes and we had finished our food. It then took around 45 minutes for our dessert to come and by this point we had enough as we had to once again remind one of the servers to bring it over. The portion sizes were quite small and others had come in after us ordered the exact same thing had paid and gone. Very disappointed.

Had a lovely dinner and drinks at rooftop gardens! We were served by Nat and he was super lovely and helpful when it came to my dietary requirements, and my food was delicious! Only improvement would be more heat lamps on the terrace!

All of the food that we had was absolutely amazing. The milkshakes are the best that I have ever tasted. The staff were really friendly and Mira took really good care of us during our visit.

Amber was a brilliant waitress! The food was fantastic!! They were great with my allergy and felt very reassured during my time there! Will definitely be back!

Food wasn’t how it should be for the price. Made me very ill. Our server also was very rude towards us however most workers were lovely. It was also very loud and quite difficult to hear when talking despite only being opposite each other

Went for the Valentines menu. Food was bland and the waiter forgot our drinks. After the main we weren’t seen to for 40 minutes before flagging down a waiter to order deserts. Deserts arrived with no cutlery and tasted like soil. Would highly discourage anyone from attending. Whilst it looks pretty inside that is the end of the niceties and you will leave being annoyed at the price.

Booked for an occasion. Welcomed with a smile. Went downhill from there. Expresso Martini was not up to scratch. The consistency was weak. Presentation ,not a coffee bean in sight. We ordered some food which we were looking forward too. My partner asked for a clean knife. The response of the waiter was no eye contact walked by and snatched it out his hand. He was rude & arrogant. We left soon after.

4 guests for New Year's Eve event, food pre-ordered. They had a reduced cocktail menu to avoid long delays which worked pretty well. Food really good, very well presented. Good value for NYE event.

Solid 3. Nice place and decor. Food was okay, but serving wine in a wet wine glass is not what you would expect in a quality establishment.

Poor service, pre booked dinner for a table of 20 for a 40th birthday at 6.30. Starters took ages come out, 8 main plates come out and we had to chase 3 times for the rest of the food which was being only just being cooked by the chefs. No one checked food order or if we needed anything no condiments given either.

Attended a group Christmas party. The food was hot and nice....which is often not the case with large catered events. Plenty of staff on hand.

Went for a friends birthday celebration. Pre-ordered food but took over an hour to arrive and when it did they'd run out of all the dessert options we had placed. Admittedly they gave us brownie for free but other elements are not up to scratch either. They say they have a disabled friendly badge, however going as a disabled user I experienced the lift to get into the building in the first place was out of order (I'm told this isn't a new thing) and the disabled access toilet was out of order so had to descend a flight of stairs to stand in line in a normal queue for the ladies. Poor show really.

The venue is 5 out of 5 but this is a restaurant so will be rated as such. The food is appaling. We came as a party of 12 and each meal was either over cooked, bland or just disgusting (most people had 3 courses). The food has never been great here but it has gotten progressively worse and worse. We waited over an hour for our table. We did get our bill reduced which is the only saving grace here. Waited half an hour for drinks which did or did not turn up.. depending on who was serving us. Overall this is a good drinks only venue but need a kitchen overhaul and if you're tempted to eat here.. just don't. The experience ruined our night to say the least.

The restaurant is a lovely place with a beautiful atmosphere, EVIE tended to our table and she was lovely. Food was a little bit disappointing, we got sweet potato and chickpea something and it was undercooked

If you like your roast dinner cold, this is an excellent venue! We went for a family roast and when our meal arrived it was cold. Nobody came to check on us and ask if our meal was ok. My pot of tea was brought out with no sugar or spoon, so I ended up stirring it with my fork. Then at the end when the bill was brought over, nobody asked if we enjoyed our meal. We emailed in to say that we didn’t enjoy our visit/experience and that it our food was served cold but nobody replied. Hence the negative review today. They have had an opportunity to rectify this and now I won’t be returning ever again, I’m not impressed. We used to eat here quite regularly. What a shame.

had steak was incredible, ordered rare but got med rare, this was not a negative as the fat became this beautiful beef crackling. chips are fluffy and crisp, perfectly well done. service was incredible, never a moment we felt abandoned but also we did not feel swamped either. views and atomosphere where incredible. the brownie with black forest ganache was simply the best i have eaten. soft and melt in your mouth with a lovely tart brandy soaked cherry. Our waiter was friendly and welcoming, a great trip and worth coming to norwich for this restaurant alone. treat yourself this place rocks!!!

It was the dinner from hell. Absolutely outstandingly terrible service. My husband and I were there to celebrate 2 years of marriage and honestly this dinner ruined my whole day. Firstly we were greeted with incompetent waiters who completely neglected us the whole night, while they were busy serving the table next to us who had come in an hour after us. We had already had 2 drinks each, as well as starters, and had to ask not once, not twice but FIVE TIMES for our APPETISER plates to be taken, whereas the couple next to us had been approached about 10 times within this time and were already on desert even though we had just ordered our mains. Will definitely not be going again, and I don't recommend you do either.

Had a terrible experience here. We were a family out for a special occasion. We sent back 4 dishes where the meat was overcooked and hard. We were told they cook in batches due to the volume of people. I've never heard of a restaurant not cooking from fresh and have eaten around the UK in multiple locations. The most disappointing moment was the server swearing at my partner. I've never seen such horrid behaviour and needless to say I'd pick somewhere like weatherspoons instead!

Fish was not good overdone all other meals good

Lovely restaurant, cocktails were nice. got heaters outside and i definitely was not cold, if anything i was boiling!! decent selection of drinks. didn’t try the food but saw some good past and looked lovely. the place is a little hard to find. not much advertising outside the building. you’ll need to go up a lift to floor 6 to find it. overall a nice experience

One of my most visited restaurants in Norwich, always a great time, the location especially the seats outdoors are great even if the restaurant is on top of an office block! The food is always great, always accommodating staff as well, cannot fault it!

Went to rooftops for dinner and drinks. The food was incredible we both had the pork belly and it was done to perfection. The service and the atmosphere was also top level, could not fault a thing !!!!

Our waiter (Mira) was one of the most friendly people I have met in a long time. 1st class service. We decided to order some food in my personal opinion it could have been presented a lot better. It was poor, to say the least. With having a small menu, it should be perfect. The plate itself was far too big for the quantity of food. Whoever decided to season the chips went over board with the salt, I do like more salt than most, but that was ridiculous! The cocktail was perfect. I would go again, just for drinks. There is a small carpark on the ground £2. All evening.

Delicious food and service was outstanding.

Even though middle of Oct it was lovely to sit outside on the rooftop terrace which was plenty warm enough with the outside heaters. Service very good. Food on the whole very good and well priced for the quality and portion sizes. Only disappointment is that once we got home and reviewed the bill, we saw we've been charged for a glass of white port which was given as an alternative to red port which was out of stock, and so were told would be 'on the house'.

Great vibe and atmosphere with a nice view of the city. Food is great and tastes really good for the pricing. Restraunt staff very professional and helpful. This is a nice place to celebrate special occassions and life milestones like engagements and anniversaries, or even just fot a date night. Highly Recommend

this place was outstanding, excellent service all the way. amazing views at night. exceptional food, we defintely reccommed the halloumi fries and the steak. it was averaged price, espescially the set menu. the man in the suit called David, he was very kind and presentable, checked on us all night, made sure our plates were taking and it would make sure that we had everything. and one of the waitress called Amber, when we sat down, the first thing she did was fill up our water and she also checked on all the way though the night. she was amazing waitress. we are defintely coming back. we will defintely reccomened this place to other people.

We had a fabulous time tonight on my daughters hen do, my 3 daughters and I had a lovely meal, they had some drinks,and it was made special by the lovely attendants ADRIAN and MIRA. they were great and really made the evening great. Fabulous. Thanks.

The mocktail I had was very sweet The food was well presented and the views good if overcast. The high lights were the bottle of Lebanese wine and the cheese board.

Sadly our experience was fairly average, hence the 3*. We had prebooked just for drinks on the outdoor terrace, we were taken to our table and then left there - no further service, no menu, no indication of where we should order. My partner managed to wave down a waiter who was walking around nonchalantly and said we would probably have to order inside as he didn’t think the outdoor bar was ready yet (even though there were quite a few outdoor tables already taken and a huge party of about 15 people). He then walked off and went to flirt with a two women at a table and ignored all the other tables. The menu we got wasn’t put together properly, with paper coming out, some of the menu was duplicated and half of it missing. We ordered some cocktails which to be honest were quite expensive for what they were, and I’ve had a lot better. We sat outside for probably 30 minutes to an hour, in which during that time someone kept turning the music up and then down again and back and forth. Sometimes it would be at a good level, then it would be turned up to deafeningly loud. In the end we asked to move inside because we couldn’t hear ourselves, and the heaters were so far away from our table, it was too cold. They seem to be so overstaffed, with many not actually doing anything. We saw some waiters play fighting each other, or others walking around slapping each other on the butt right in front of customer tables, it was really unprofessional. We ordered more drinks, and watched them being made and then left on the side for 10 minutes whilst staff mingled around the bar ignoring all the drinks left there. Whilst the decor inside is nice, and ambience is good, I wouldn’t come back. Service was poor, drinks are overpriced, and we didn’t try the food but some of the other reviews seem to suggest it’s also very overpriced for what it is.

Very disappointed, had a meal booked here this evening, one of the main courses didn’t turn up, waited over 10 mins for it to arrive whilst everyone on our table had theirs, when it did eventually arrive it was cold! The food was tasteless, very much of a Wetherspoons standard. Looked like the manager was too busy arranging furniture to come over and take the time to apologise for the issues. Looked like the type of place to fit as many diners in the building as possible but then not give the quality of care to customers. Over priced for what it is. Will not return!

Really nice restaurant ate outside but didn't even notice the cold as they had really good heating. Servers were quick and attentive. Food was really good and out quickly after order. Good sized portions for price

Always a lovely location. Ordered the seafood sharing platter and fed back suggestions: You need to give more than two pieces of bread on a sharing platter. Additional bread supplied was stale and returned. No butter provided for bread. Only one sauce, for the squid. Suggest a dill and horseradish mayo too so this dish isn't so dry. A scattering of capers would be nice! Not a lemon wedge in sight. The samphire was great quality. This dish could be elevated so easily, it was a bit meh.

A great experience from the start to finish service was spot on, even with bad weather a beautiful spot to eat, Food was very good, mains were really well balanced, critically I felt salt& pepper squid and Korean pork starters could be reworked to really lift the standard

Wow! The service and cocktails at the Rooftop are stunning! The menu has some great drinks to choose from but if there’s too much choice- Archie is happy to step in and give a fantastic recommendation! He made my partner and I several amazing cocktails, each better and more suited to us than the last, all while having a fantastic conversation and making us feel at home! This was made all the more special after we were greeted and seated by Amber at the door- another welcoming and kind face The staff went above and beyond while being super friendly and the drinks were to die for! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing date night

Rooftop Garden Norwich I haven’t done a review in a while soo here it goes On a work trip in Norwich and decided to try out a recommendation from my Hotel receptionist and she said try the Rooftop Garden. Reservation was made and ooff I went. The restaurant is located on the 6th floor of the Union building. You take the elevator up in the lobby and when you come out the lift the entrance is on the right. Greeted nicely by receptionist host and taken to your table. Waiter was lovely and asked about allergies which of course as always seafood and shellfish so recommended the foods that are lower risk of cross contamination. In the meantime, I thought I’d try a new mocktail so went for a Virgin Pornstar Martini (rating 1/5) wasn’t my favourite Starter Korean Pork Belly with sesame aioli and Parmesan,made different by the chef which was really nice of him.. see picture no Parmesan and no sesame.. It was extremely spicy and y’all know I don’t like overly spicy food. I like to enjoy my food without a runny nose haha. Asked for some garlic butter and it took at 20:00 and by 20:17 I was still waiting and the pork was getting cold.. I guess il soldiered on. The garlic butter arrived 20:19… whoop but it was just oil lol made it a little bearable (Starter Rating 2.5/5) too spicy for my palette, if you like spicy then yeah it’s nice Main course - Pork Belly, burnt apple puree, hassle back potatoes, confit carrot, buttered greens, bacon butter sauce. The main was good, didn’t taste the bacon in the butter but I have to say out of all the pork belly I have had this was a good one (Main rating 3.5/5) Overall the service was 5/5 Atmosphere was 4/5 Food rating 6/10 Next time I’m up this way I was try something else and update my rating. Until next time

My first visit to the Rooftop Gardens, possibly my last. We'd booked our table for 1 pm, arriving a few minutes early. Our drinks order was taken very quickly, food order soon after that and then the waiting began, My friend and I had only ordered small plates, hallumi fries and the smoked salmon pate plus a side of fries so we didn't really expect to have to wait 45 minutes to be served, especially galling when other patrons who had arrived after us were being served main meals. Food was fine but just underwhelming. As for the stunning city views...fine if you're looking towards the cathedral but the other side is overlooking derelict buildings and run down areas. All in all, had a good time because of the company I was in but I couldn't recommend it.

Place looked very good from the reviews we checked out before going. The view is great and the service was excellent however the food was disappointing. I paid £15 for a tiny amount of cauliflower and quinoa and my friends had the vegan burger and fries which they said was OK. I would say on a hot summers day/night it would be great to go for drinks here for the view and vibe but the food is underwhelming and overpriced.

We have been here before so knew what to expect. View is of a city so all roof tops and cathederal, very intersting. Staff friendly and helpful.We are use to London prices so felt the priceses for the meal good. We had a 3 course meal, wine,and cocktail and cost £60 each which we felt was very resonable. Food had different sauces and vegatables and we enjoyed it.

What once was my favourite restaurant in Norwich has sadly gone downhill over the last year, unfortunately now not somewhere I will be looking to return. Have tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and had a few meals and an afternoon tea experience within the past year. Food was extremely average for the cost. Previously I didn’t mind the cost as it really was worth every penny. But they seem to have changed the menu and quality, both not in a good way, but kept higher prices, and sadly it isn’t worth it. Visited recently for an afternoon tea experience with my family, and the waiter kept calling us ‘babe’ and ‘love’ which I found very inappropriate. Especially as it was for my nanny’s birthday celebration and wanted her to experience the views and gorgeous setting, however she mentioned how unprofessional calling a group of ladies having afternoon tea ‘babe’ was. Was very odd. We also had pre ordered our menu, and at the table had just mentioned to the waitress about one was vegetarian (told on the phone prior) and she said they hadn’t made a note of that, so had quite a long wait. Another family asked if we could have the ham sandwiches without mustard and she mentioned they were already pre made (and tasted like they had been pre made for quite some time) but then we waited quite a long time to have it served, it didn’t make sense. Also took a long time to get cutlery/ ask for drinks etc Rooftop gardens is unfortunately not what it once was. The strange change in the social media marketing and random garage & afrobeats music events make it seem like they have gone down a completely different route, and now is not somewhere I would go for a more up market meal. It feels a bit all over the place and now not somewhere I will be returning. Would love to see it return to how it was ran & organised a couple of years back, as the string of bad reviews I have seen recently is really disappointing for those who built rooftop up to be what it once was.

Great place for some time away, but very pricey. They more cater for the rich so don't expect a good deal. But was a fun experience.

Really enjoyed the food, especially the dessert, service was great and was really nice being out on the rooftop. All round great experience.

Great views but food was underwhelming.

All style no substance. It's trying to be a London rooftop bar but the aesthetic is not hitting. When we showed up they acted like we were fools for not making a reservation, only to go outside to an empty terrace (which remained empty the whole time we were there). Wine was warm. Bread we ate was stale.

Nice resturant with inside dining and rooftop terraces. The food was well cooked and presented. The friendly, helpful staff made the evening.

The food was delicious. The server was very attentive which added to our experience, he was interested in what we'd been doing etc. We really enjoyed it
