The Rumblin Tum Cafe in Leeds

Lovely little cafe, hidden in an interesting old passage way, with outside seating ideal for a warm summer day. The service was excellent with mainly young staff. It would be difficult to find a negative comment based on our experience.

Came at a lunch time after a spur of the moment trip to Otley. Sat outside and had two roast beef sandwiches with gravy. Staff were friendly and welcoming along with attention to the areas ensuring the place is clean. Would come again as its out the way and quiet with a good selection of hot and cold items

Super cafe. Very friendly staff. Great food. Nice variety on offer. Coffee's nice and hot. I had sausage and bacon roll. Kids had chilli burger and chips and hash brown, egg and cheese sandwich. We will definitely return

Having ordered my meal, watched the all day breakfast come out thinking might have ordered wrong. Not at all, the pie on special was superb, full of proper meat, so processed mush and really tasty. Yes it's a cafe, yes it's small but that's part of it's character. Mix a visit to the local market and quaint little shops with a must have visit hear. Well worth taking that little bit of time for a warm, nice cuppa and a bite to eat. We will certainly be back, maybe next time for one of those breakfasts.

First class delicious coffees -much appreciated on a snowy cold day. In fact the best tasting coffees of our holiday in Yorkshire! Very friendly staff with high hygiene standards.

Haven’t visited Otley in a while & Rumblin Tums appears to have changed hands, I had the full breakfast & my wife had the slimline breakfast, the food arrived quickly enough to say it was freshly cooked, and both were nicely presented and very tasty, one slight complaint was the latte was a bit tepid, but all in all we enjoyed our visit & will eat there again when we next visit Otley.

We were here yesterday and have to say the food was lovely. We ordered a jacket potato each and really enjoyed it. The tea was good and strong and piping hot. I didn't see the counter staff, I sat down whilst my husband went to order but he said they were polite and friendly. The young lady serving us was very good, asking if everything was ok and fetching sauces etc, we couldn't fault her. Overall, the cafe was very clean and the tables were quickly cleared. We were sent there by a market trader who we asked to recommend a cafe, he said this one couldn't be beaten, and he was right! Well worth a visit the next time you are in Otley.

Do not go food was hard looked like yesterday bacon sausages were shocking. As I went to tell them at the end the gentleman was lovely. I heard him say I think she wants a refund and the woman in there was like NO trying to be clever don’t know if she knew I’d heard. But stay clear. Bad food rude staff.

If you find yourself in the wonderful town of Otley, you can't miss The Rumblin Tum Cafe. I was visiting from the U.S. and was excited to try a proper British breakfast, and wow, they delivered just that. Furthermore, if you happen to be vegetarian or vegan, they even have sausages for vegans! The coffee was absolutely delicious. I had a latte, and enjoyed every sip. I would be remiss if I finished this review without shouting out the incredible staff and owners of this cafe. They made the entire experience feel like I was family! Best cafe in Otley.

We’ve been here a few times. The service is always quick and efficient and the food tastes good. A great little spot to get breakfast.

Was here a few days ago with the lovely Ursula and one of our grandsons It’s very cosy and intimate and the staff are just super. They have a great menu and prices are really low. Well recommended!

First time to Otley in Yorkshire and visited The Rumbling Tum cafe. It was packed, but it was Saturday. This is an order at the counter type of cafe. Lots to choose from, from breakfast to dinner. Orders are quickly taken and delivered in a timely fashion. I had the bacon roll, plenty of well-cooked bacon in a soft roll. My partner (husband) him/he had a double egg roll, equally as good. Loved the fact I could have a mug of Yorkshire tea. Hard-working staff, friendly and attentive. Highly recommend. High chairs available

Was here today with the lovely Ursula We had brunch including lattes, scrambled eggs on toast and scones. Very nice, friendly staff, popular place and the customers are greeted and are well known here. Prices are very very reasonable and great value. Definitely worth a visit!

Firstly, we ordered three pieces of hamburger with cokes. And then, we wanted to try their desserts. All of them were excellent. If we come to Leeds again, we will exactly come to this cafe. And we will suggest this cafe to our other friends.

When i got the cafe on saturday the 18th I was met with lovely staff they where friendly and accommodating especially the younger staff. But my meal was ruined by the owner he was far too harsh and arguementative with the staff he looked clueless when he was stood around and i wonder if he could run the cafe because at the moment its the staff keeping it afloat. I did not like hearing how he spoke to his staff at all i would not go again purely because of the way he spoke to his staff utterly digusting and if the owner does read this you need to learn manners and how to manage people.

We visited for lunch today. We had a hungry 2yr old in tow and found a number of other cafes in Otley closed on a Sunday. The cafe has a small frontage and we've probably passed by without noticing it in the past. But there are a good number of tables inside. We had toasties and our little one had the kid's sandwich. It was just what we were after - simple tasty food and a friendly atmosphere - nothing too fancy. They brought a high chair over for us and the food was served promptly (always appreciated when the children's food is brought out first). One of the staff in particular was very approachable and made friends with our little boy and got him laughing.Only downside was they don't accept card payments (or at least didn't today), but the cash point is just round the corner, so wasn't an issue.We'll definitely head here again next time we're in Otley.

Lovely little place and not over priced. Coffee is really tasty, bacon sandwich with plenty bacon and fruit tea cakes with proper butter.

We called here just by chance and didn't know what to expect as the back door didn't look inviting? But when we entered they were quite a few people sat around having their lunch. We sat down and looked at the menu and saw very reasonably priced meals so we ordered the fish, chips, peas, tea bread and butter which was very nice. The young server wiped down the table, brought everything we asked for to go with the meal and was very polite, the other staff were chatty and said goodbye as we left..

Friendly busy cafe in the centre of Otley. Traditionally English hot & cold food served e.g. Full English ( veg option too), sanwiches, jacket potatoes etc. Reasonably priced and friendly service.

Three of us ate here for lunch, the cafe wasn't too busy when we ate, but the service we received was very good, our orders were taken quickly, the drinks arrived quickly and the food wasn't too far behind. For the prices you pay the food is amazing value, I had the fish and chips which included a cup of tea, bread and butter and peas or beans - my only minor complaint was the fish was more of a "birds eye" fish slice than a piece of fish that had been battered and fried, although the price did more than make up for this. The other orders were beef burger and chips and a bacon sandwich and separate chips. All the portions were of a good size and tasty. The cafe was clean and we all enjoyed our meal. We saw someone else ordering carrot cake and they received a large piece of cake.

Basic cafe, served us a good quality breakfast at the right price. no frills, but clean and very friendly staff. What you see is what you get. Would certainly eat here again.

Called to see my relatives today in otley whilst we were there had lunch in this delightful cafe was greeted by such lovely staff we decided to have fish and chips and the "bellybuster" breakfast which were all presented very well and cooked to perfection,during our visit a table close to us there was a lady with her partner complaining about her breakfast I would just like to say the lady who came out to deal with the complaint was very patient and understanding not so sure I would of been so considerate in the same circumstances so hats off to her !!she offered a replacement breakfast or anything else in the menu the lady said no thank you and the lady from the cafe asked if she could get her another drink which she also said no to we will definitely be returning to this cafe next time we are in the area !!

Although basic its just what you want on a day out. The meal was hot and good value for money. We took our grandson and he enjoyed every minute. The staff were helpful and it appeared to be family run with the children helping out during the holidays. Thank you we shall certainly call again!

When I saw the TripAdvisor certificate of excellence 2014 on the window of the restaurant I thought it worth dining here. Now I know why no certificate has been awarded since. The lady who served me could not be more disregarding of her customers. There was not even a smile never mind a good afternoon. It seemed to me that she regarded her customers as something to be at contended with. My order was for a steak pie, no chips and extra vegetables along with a slice of bread and butter. The bread and butter never arrived and as no receipt was issued I have no idea if I paid for the item. The pie had pieces of meat that had set into the side pastry like concrete that I could not cut with my knife never mind separate from the pie casing. The carrots were cooked perfect they were lovely and sweet, it is a pity she did not take the same care of the pie. I will not be dining there again.

Why did we choose it for our lunch? There’s a very cheerful blackboard in the market place and we responded to its invitation to dine.

I have lived in Otley for 8 years now and never been to this cafe, however after always passing I decided to take my dad for breakfast.

I went with my partner for a full English breakfast. Thought was a reasonable price but was rather disappointing. Bacon was too salty, but well not a problem, egg was cooked nicely. However, the sausages were the cheap kind, not very tasty. It had a little bit too much of baked beans. I was expecting fried tomato, but got a kinda of chopped tomatoes sauce. Coffee was not bad, but not great either. Staff was okay and the place was basic but nice. I just thought that for a local place there could have been a better quality breakfast without increasing the cost much. I can't comment on other foods as we only had the full English. Not sure if we will go back.

Me impresionó ver que ofrecen un desayuno vegetariano caliente pero no lo probamos. (No estoy seguro si el desayuno se sirve durante todo el día. Pedimos una comida preparada), un bollo y bebidas. El personal joven y nervioso parecía apenas parecía querer el encargo. Las bebidas eran agradables, pero no había vasos limpios para que mi hijo tenía que beber de una lata. Afortunadamente él no importa. El bollo llegamos al lado. Se lo han hecho mejor yo. Era delicioso, pero es difícil. La comida llegó algún tiempo después y aparentemente estaban bien, pero no sustancial. Terminamos y nos fuimos. (El cristal limpio nunca llegó! )

Very small & cramped cafe, full of push chairs at the time of our visit. Just had teas & scones which were good & cake which was nothing special. Prices are very reasonable & the plates of food we saw looked substantial. I think most of the clientele were locals. I would probably look for somewhere else another time but it was fine.

After a lovely walk around the delightful market town of otley, we found this cafe quite by accident, it's tucked up a paved precinct, lots of choice on the menu, friendly staff, very reasonable prices, well worth seeking out, we were able to sit outside, it's a right little sun trap, we will call again

The start of my campaign to eat breakfast some of Otley's many cafes. Service is quick and very friendly. The standard English breakfast was £5.80 with a mug of tea, and you won't leave hungry. Egg was nicely cooked (4 stars). Only downside was the poor quality sausage (1 star). Very popular with locals. Steady trade. No frills. Any customer request was politely dealt with.

Stumbled upon this gem of a café quite by chance, and what a find. Tucked away in the heart of Otley, we enjoyed great food, effortlessly good service and a warm, easy atmosphere. Definitely worth a return visit and I'd recommend to anyone else unreservedly

Came for a breakfast which was good value steady fare.The cafe is compact - haven't been in when busy. Could get tight I imagine.The location is good, being just off the market on one side and straight on to New Market at the other.

Small Basic friendly eatery, food good, staff ok, clean, a very tight fit tables a bit close together, and needs a bit more lighting.

I was in Otley early for the market and fancied a sit down breakfast rather than a sandwich on the hoof!I have been here a few times before and the food and service has always been good and welcoming. This time did not disappoint. My only gripe is the size of the cups in which the coffee is served. It might be me but I like a large cup!

After a busy day shopping in Otley, if you want basic no frills, but good quality food. RT is the way to go. All day breakfast to die for & not too expensive. They clearly have a loyal clientele. Will def visit again :)

Having had the cafe recommended by friends, we decided to pop in for a coffee and cake.We (the family - myself, my wife, my in-laws and our two kids) had been walking on the Chevin and, yet again, had missed the White House cafe - it closes too early. So we decided to take everyone down into Otley town and try The Rumbling Tum.We were not disappointed. Great, friendly host Erkan made us all feel at home and supplied us with great coffee and copious amounts of teacakes and carrot cake. Visited on our weekend tour and went in for a coffee and cake. Situated in a little courtyard and very peaceful. Excellent service from friendly staff. Place was very clean and would definitely recommend if in the area for refreshments or food.

We had breakfast at about 2.00pm, and very fresh and filling it was too. The staff, although very busy, were helpful and friendly.

I visited with my sister and brother in law for lunch. The food was great, the atmosphere jolly and friendly but the tables are closely packed in and it felt a bit cramped, we didn't care, all else was worth it. I've been before and will go again.
