I booked this restaurant for my husband’s 40th birthday. Fantastic food and service, can’t fault at all. Really friendly and food was great, good portion sized dishes. Had a fantastic night with the family, will definitely go again. Thanks for a great night

This is a little Gem, a lovely friendly rural Pub.With good Ale, spacious seating in and out with honest Bar snacks. Thoroughly recommended.

Slightly-quaint country pub in a quiet setting offering well-kept beers and plateful quantities of well cooked and presented foods.

Visit here after our shoot , unfortunately it's a hours drive for me so not a regular. Ale and service are second to non , a proper county boozer and no juke box 😃 The gaffer and staff are always welcoming and friendly locals , shame I don't live closer.

Had a 60th birthday bash here. Excellent friendly staff who just could not do more for you. Free use of their marque and dining room which was all laid out ready for our use. Landlady Sue was such a great help. She recommended the Cellar Fellas as the band to use and they were awesome. Food was excellent too. Not that we used it but there were facilities to pitch a tent or caravan for anyone staying over. Such a relaxing venue and a great time was had by all. Will definitely use again.

Have visited the royal oak (known as 'the tiddly') many times for drinks and games of pool but only had food for the first time today. Sunday roast was excellent - especially the pork. Great value and service. Beers are varied (6 always on offer when I visit) and well kept and served by a passionate and friendly team. The landlord and landlady kept the fires going and brought some games out for our young daughter to play with. The atmosphere is great and it's so nice (and sadly rare) to visit a pub where people are able to talk with friends and strangers alike with no distractions (sky sports or loud music etc.)...well worth a visit.

Of a type which is sadly becoming rarer and rarer. It's a place you can walk into alone and leave with a couple of new friends. The beer is consistently excellent, the welcome warm, and the atmosphere properly pub-like. Don't come here if you're a fan of the modernised Marston's gastropub.

You have to visit the Tiddly for well kept beers and ciders. For a pub that's virtually in the middle of nowhere it's always got plenty of patrons who know a fantastic watering hole. The food is also very good and at very reasonable prices. You're missing out if you don't pay this pub a visit.

Warm welcome and good real ale. However, despite a fire going, the dining room was freezing and the food was only OK. Will return for a drink in warmer weather but probably not to eat.

Great Country Pub with a lovely selection of home-cooked food at a very reasonable price. Friendly staff and a good selection of drinks too, with cheerful locals this is well worth a visit. No food served on a Monday or Tuesday I believe.

We visited the grove for Mother’s Day, 6 adults, 1 child. 3 x roast chicken, 2 x 8oz fillet steak, 1 children’s chicken nuggets +chips. My meal (steak) came out and looked great, although my stone wasn’t hot enough to cook my steak, onions and mushrooms, my steak although looked great, tasted horrible. £23 to only be satisfied with the chips! My wife also couldn’t eat the chicken and neither could my father Inlaw, only eating less that half there meals. I wouldn’t go back if I’d not Eaton for a month and was offered a free meal!

Pub recently taking over by an individual who leftt his Dog to rot to death in the back of his previous pub in The Railway Hotel Nantwitch. And the workers are in on it If you give these people your money you are supporting this and becoming a part of the problem! Absolutely vile. Poor pups

I go with my friends here all the time!! The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff are very friendly, and it’s an all-round pleasant place to be. And of course, I must mention Bruno. He’s the goodest boy, always happy to see him there 🐶. 10/10, would recommend.
