Albion Inn in Telford and Wrekin

Visited here for Sunday lunch while visiting Telford for the weekend. Found bar staff a little abrupt to begin with and then quite regimented with their 'sitting time' - there's 12.15, 2.15 or 4.15pm. We weren't allowed to order until our set time then found ourselves waiting for 35 minutes for our meals. We couldn't understand this as staff knew how many people were booked in and were only cooking roast lunches! Food was good when it arrived, all fresh vegetables and homemade Yorkshire pudding. Roast potatoes were over cooked and almost hollow, other than that the food was generally good. Not sure we'd go again, it was a strange one!

Superb Sunday lunch. All good quality, locally sourced fresh produce. Fantastic service, friendly staff & great atmosphere.

We visited the Albion Inn for the first time to have dinner. We received a friendly welcome upon arrival and were seated at a table which we had booked over the phone. We ordered our drinks and then selected our food from the Menu. The food was well prepared and had good flavour, served by attentive staff. All in all we had an enjoyable dining experience.

Visited for the first time today, for Sunday lunch. Excellent food, but the service seemed rather slow - it was quite a while before our order for main course was taken, and then another fair wait before it arrived. By contrast, the dessert came out in no time at all. Overall, the quality of the food will make this worth a second visit.

Once again could not fault anything,all in the party enjoyed the excellently prepared food ,good portions,arrived at the same time all prepared to perfection. The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly.Excellent value,will definitely return.

Our go to place now when staying near Telford. We had another excellent dinner on Saturday evening and I had decided to try the Sunday lunch. The roast I had was the nicest I have had at a pub, homemade and very tasty. My partner is vegetarian and there was a good selection on the Saturday and an option on a Sunday. Owners and staff are very friendly, thoroughly recommended.

Wow! We went off trip advisor reviews, and we hit the jackpot! Such lovely staff and amazing food, so pleased as a group of 9 on a Saturday evening- just brilliant all round highly recommend!

Amazing!! We tried to book Thursday for sunday, but they were fully booked, we understand why now, but they found us a space. If you are looking for that hidden gem restaurant you have to try the albion. The pub/restaurant itself is lovely and relaxed, really friendly environment. The staff are lovely, all very friendly and bobbing about talking to everyone, the food was absolutely incredible! Hats off to the chef. And the bill was even more than reasonable, really really well priced especially for the quality. I don't write reviews often but this had to have one, will 100% be back, already booked for next Sunday!!

Went with my family for mother's day and again exceptional food and service, well cooked homemade food for our Sunday lunch, lots of it too ordered a large but should of had the small plate and reasonably priced staff are very attentive too highly recommended

Went with my husband and stepson for Mother's Day. Staff are very efficient & friendly. The food is homemade/homecooked, top quality produce. All cooked to perfection & piping hot. I highly recommend trying for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

Summer = beautiful garden. Winter = toasty fire (not too hot). Can’t fault the service 👏👏👏

Excellent meal and great service. My wife and I were off to the Theatre and could see that The Albion had very good reviews. Both had a Steak & chips. Very reasonable price and cooked superb. Would definitely recommend this pub. Owners and regulars very friendly including the Chef.

Daughters 18th birthday the pub was fantastic at getting food out all together and generally being a great pub the staff here are so welcoming and make you feel like a local

First visit for Sunday lunch. Cannot fault the choices on the menu or the food itself. More than ample portions, well cooked. The service was exemplary, a special thanks to our waitress. I will be visiting again and I recommend The Albion to anyone looking for Sunday lunch in the Telford area.

Decided to treat ourselves to dinner out and will certainly visit again. I had a steak that was cooked to perfection and the wife had a huge lamb shank. Both meals were really tasty, served hot and without any real delay, also a lovely kept point of beer. Highly recommended and will try and fit this in as a monthly treat.

Food was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. The small meal was enough for the elderly. Plenty of meat and fabulous veg and brilliant yorkshire pudding so huge.

Went here with my friends for a Sunday roast and it’s amazing place to go with amazing food and owners are the nicest people I have ever met they so make you welcome soon you step foot in the place and the service is spot on and so friendly and I’ve got to say this is my favourite place to eat as it’s all freshly cooked and you get plenty. And there’s not many places like this that does gluten free meals I give this place 100% well done and keep it up guys

Thought we would give this place a go after reading a couple of complimentary comments in Facebook posts. Can’t fault it. Friendly staff, comfy non pretentious surroundings, spotlessly clean, excellent prices, superb food, nice atmosphere. Short and sweet review… wish I’d found this establishment years ago!

Came here Christmas Eve for lunch, absolutely beautiful. Booked again for today. Cannot recommend highly enough! Sundayy roast superb, fresh, quality ingredients, homemade Yorkshire pudding. Went out with work friends for our Christmas party, food was excellent and service was quick. I had homemade lasagne which came with a side of salad and a side of homemade chips too, couldn't fault it. Had a lovely evening and we were able to stay in the dining room after we had eaten due to being a fairly large party so we had plenty of space to mingle and chat with each other, will definitely be visiting again!

A traditional well cooked Sunday lunch at great price with show stopper Yorkshire pudding and chocolate fudge cake. Particularly helpful was the option for smaller or larger servings of the roast. Parking is available but limited with stepped access to the pub There were three sittings starting approximately 12 , 2 and 4. The bar has a wide selection of drinks again at reasonable prices. The only slight negative is that it was 40 mins or so until food was served but it was worth the wait

Decent meal and good value for money. Table service initially somewhat slow and me being 62, with my 86 year old mother perhaps not the best people to be referred to as 'guys'.

Yet again Martin excels himself!!! Superb food as always served with a chat and a smile. An an amazing chef. Always eat here when we visit The Place at Oakengates. Only wish it was closer as it’s a 30 mile trip to get here. Regardless of how good the show is the food is worth the visit every time.

Fantastic Sunday lunch. Friendly staff and the pub has a real buzz. First time my friends and I have been for a meal, won't be the last. Couldn't belive the lady behind the bar, it was really busy, she was on her own, doing half a dozen things at the same time and still a big smile on her face, worth her weight in gold.

First time visit, very pleasant staff, tasty food and value for money. Will be going again. Recommended!

Since my Wife passed away in October 2021 I've had a Sunday lunch delivered every week. The food is amazing and tasty and would totally recommend the Albion Inn. The staff are all friendly ,welcoming and accommodating to your requirements. Keep up the good work guys, you are appreciated

Just moved to the area and thought we would give this place a go... When we first walked in we got greeted straight away and took to are table. The dinning area is small and was worried at first but the atmosphere in the pub was great and felt very welcomed. We ordered the pan fried duck and a steak pie and when the food arrived it looked great with a good sized portion, we then tucked in to are dinner and it's the best duck I have had in years it was that good I had to let my missus try some... I tried the pie and it was amazing too every part off the meals was great even the veg.. We finished with a couple of desserts and they hit the spot too.. So time to leave and asked for the bill and was amazed at this!!! 5 drinks included double vodka, large wine and pints. 2 main meals and desserts was under £50???????? I would of paid so much more for the quality of food and drinks this place is a Gem and will definitely be back very soon and would highly recommend it to everyone and anyone if I could give more stars I would.

Just had my fist Sunday roast take away from The Albion. Wow! What a treat! Plentiful and homely it was an absolute credit to you all. Thank you so much it was also amazing value for money.

I've done a couple of reviews of the excellent Sunday lunches at The Albion before and I'm delighted that in these strange and uncertain times their quality has remained the same. They are currently just operating under a takeaway service (pizza on Wednesdays, a roast on Sunday) but there has been no compromise on quality or portion size - it's still the best Sunday lunch in the area. The main body of the lunch is provided in a polystyrene container - a selection of three meats (in this instance lamb, pork and beef), stuffing and a huge range of vegetables...mashed and roast potato, parsnips, carrots, sprouts, cauliflower, green beans and cabbage. You also receive a pot of gravy and a huge Yorkshire pudding wrapped in foil. It was absolutely delicious and the value is outstanding - less than £20 for two adult dinners and one child portion, which is streets ahead of many of the other lunches we've tried elsewhere. Can't recommend it enough.

First time visit to the Albion since they have opened. Wow what a transformation the owners have worked really hard. The appearance of the pub has been refreshed and looks really smart, everything is Covid safe in fact one of the best pubs we have been in for this. We booked a table to have tea, what a treat, a smaller menu choice but still a good variety to choose from and competitively priced great value for money. Friendly and attentive staff.Swift service and the meal arrived in no time. Portion size was generous and the food was delicious and very tasty. Well worth a visit we will definitely be frequenting again including a visit for Sunday lunch.

The Albion never lets me down when I recommend this place to friends for a meal to go to on our way to the Theatre, it’s just by chance I found the Albion and i’ve never been disappointed fab food , great service, great value for money, my friend being a celiac was no problem the chef explained the menu to her and offered great service, definitely going to try the Sunday lunch, carry on the good work superb

Wow tonight was my first visit to the Albion although I had passed it several times since moving to that area of telford ,the friends we went with had been many times and I can quite honestly see why the meal was fantastic five of us had the steak all differently cooked and one had the gammon and oh my it was blooming gorgeous I can see why our friends always go there ,the landlords Martin and Simon are lovely with Simon being the quiet one and Martin the entertainment and cook /waiter so friendly both of them the inn is beautiful so clean with a lovely atmosphere we met there lovely barmaid Julie as we was leaving also very friendly and bubbly we will definitely be going back I think it’s going to be our local to be honest

Went here as local and heard good reviews. Have to say the Sunday lunch was superb and plenty of it. All home cooked and very fresh Price of £7.50 for main course or two courses was £10.50 . Great value and well worth a visit. Will be going again.
