We went to this lovely pub on Sunday to have a nice drink in the beer garden and eat lunch. The staff we so welcoming, the food was amazing, so tasty and fresh, and the beer garden was lovely and they had a great band playing out there too which was great entertainment. I will definitely be back. Get the chicken burgers ready for me 😋😋

We went here with the family and everyone enjoyed it! Really friendly staff and the food was delicious. My partner had the beef burger with chips and coleslaw and I had the chicken burger which was really succulent 😋 They had a really nice beer garden too which was lovely in the sunshine. We will definitely be returning soon!

Visited for Sunday lunch after finishing a football match close by. There were 2 adults and 2 children all of whom thoroughly enjoyedthe Sunday lunch - a great sized meal cooked beautifully with a separate gravy boat and condiments served individually to the table. The puddings were just the best. The sticky toffee pudding is the best I have ever eaten. Staff were brilliant especially the lady who told us her Mum was the chef. Will definitely be back, maybe on a Saturday to try something other than a Sunday dinner. Thanks all.

This is a friendly pub with decent food and large portions. There were five of us went and the pub was busy with football on and many watching the match. We had booked so we were away from the television. The service was good and very friendly. We decided to go straight for the main course as I had read you get plenty. We all enjoyed our meals but were very full afterwards. None of us had a dessert. It was very reasonable price wise too.

Not been for a while as it is not open for lunch early in the week when we tend to go out for lunch. Only opens from Thursday lunchtime so went then. Had a pint of Deuchars IPA and it was very good and priced well at £2.70. The new thing - for us - was the introduction of two mains for £6 each from a small selection off the menu. Can't remember them all but it included Lasagne and Mince & Onion Pie with chips and peas so we had that. Very good. Great chips, nice gravy. Decent side salad with the Lasagne and Garlic Bread. I think you could also have had Cheese and Onion Pie so that's lined up for the next visit. Oh, and I think Fish and Chips so plenty to pick from at a great price.

Went with family and had an amazing meal. I had the black pudding and chicken stack in a chorizo, wine and cream sauce served with salad. It was delicious and a very generous portion. I was very full after it and the side plate of chips wasn't really necessary! My family enjoyed all their choices too. Good intimate atmosphere and friendly service by the owner and his wife. Very competitive prices too. No draught Guinness but maybe that was a one-off?

This restaurant really gets the service right. I ordered a fish pie and told the waitress that I didn't want peas with it. When it arrived I found that there were lots of peas in the pie so I told the waitress. She apologized, took the food back and the manager(?) came over, also apologized and told me that a replacement would be 6 minutes. It was definitely within that time that I received my food, the chef must have worked hard to get it out so fast. My partner dropped his fork at one point and by the time he'd picked it up a waitress was there to replace it without being asked. The food was excellent as was the atmosphere but often restaurants can let themselves down with poor, disinterested staff. The Royal Oak really gets it right and it made for a very nice night.

We hadn't been here for years, but after a recommendation we dropped in for a drink last Sunday. What a nice atmosphere, it was so welcoming. Plenty of choices of cask ales which are obviously well kept, and the food that kept passing us looked and smelled so good that we decided to try some even though we hadn't planned to eat. My wife had the Sunday roast and i had the fish pie, both of which were delicious. Portion sizes and prices were very good. Whilst there we noticed they do a Wednesday pie night and decided that we'd come back for that, which we did, and that too was delicious also. We took our daughter that night who loved it too. We missed out on the steak and ale pie as we arrived just before 8pm and i think they close the kitchens at 8, so we were lucky to get any food at all, let alone the tasty food we received. My wife tried the cheese and onion pie, and we had the steak pudding. Again, everything was lovely and tasty, no complaints whatsoever. Looking forward to our next visit already.....

Came here with my Granddad, mum and little girl. This Little place got so many good reviews on trip advisor so thought we wold give it a go. This is a very nice friendly warm place and they couldn't make us feel more welcome. The food was absolutely lovely and plenty of it. We wanted to try some of the puddings but couldn't fit anything else in. Will definitely go back again to try more of their lovely food. My grandad had the cheese and onion pie, whilst myself and mother had mince beef and onion pie. I've taken a picture of our food so that you can see how nice it looked

This is one of our local pubs and we don't feel the need to travel any further afield to have a superb meal in cosy surroundings. Very good food, excellent value for money and Paul & the staff offer a very friendly welcome. We had the mince and onion pie which was the traditional home cooked variety with the best chunky chips! I cannot resist dessert and went for the apple crumble with the creamiest ice cream. With a couple of glasses of rose wine for me and Wainwright's for my partner, which he really enjoyed, we could not have asked for more to finish off the working week. Try this little gem you won't be disappointed!!

Went for a meal with some friends and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The food was good, homely, pub food. The menu isn't extensive but there should be something for most people. It's priced well for what you get, I'd recommend they put a curry on their menu too as it's a good staple Pub food choice. I'd always go for the Chicken Curry and chips. Its worth a visit when you can't be bothered to cook something but not a place for a romantic meal. We have also been for the Sunday Roast which was very nice. Would recommend!

We sometimes visit Clitheroe midweek during the day. A pub crawl is the usual way to go, but this time, after the first pint we decided to have another. We stayed for six and on heading to the bus stop, we had only been to one pub. Why did we stay all afternoon? It was the friendliness of not just the staff, but the other customers all offering interesting content to a rolling discussion ranging from the beers to where each of us lived / grew up etc .... The barmaid (it was her first day) pulled a great pint too. In my experience of both pubs and people, this is rare. I nearly forgot to mention the prices. Cheaper than most places and two of the beers offered at just £3 a pint.
