La comida era preciosa, el personal muy amable. La música en vivo prometida nunca apareció. Pensamos que era muy caro.

Arreglé un grupo de amigos para visitar la taberna Royal Mile el domingo por la noche para disfrutar de la cena, bebidas y música como celebración por los 60 años de mi amigo. Desafortunadamente, a pesar de que llamé dos veces para confirmar mis datos de reserva, no se había registrado en su sistema, así que llegamos a las 8 pm para que nos dijeran que no había reserva y la cocina estaba a punto de cerrar! Sin embargo... dos miembros del personal, Lucy y Josh, fueron más allá para resolver la situación. Rápidamente hablaron con el personal de la cocina, pusieron una mesa para la cena, reservaron una mesa en la zona principal para las bebidas, y se inclinaron hacia atrás para cuidar de nosotros toda la noche. Gracias a sus increíbles esfuerzos lo pasamos fabulosamente. La comida era excelente, la banda (Roadhouse) era brillante, y el ambiente era fantástico. Recomendaría encarecidamente este pub y sin duda volvería en mi próxima visita a Edimburgo. Gracias especiales Josh y Lucy, ambos hicieron de nuestra noche un gran éxito.

Sono rimasta un po' delusa.Mi aspettavo di meglio.Il locale tipico è molto carino.Personale gentile e attento ai bisogni del cliente.Ma personalmente la cucina non è stata buona come mi aspettavo.Fish e chips oleoso ,patatine e piselli non gustosi.😞

Gran pequeño hallazgo amistoso, el joven detrás de la barra definitivamente conocía sus cervezas, así que recomiendo una cerveza de whisky encantadora que cayó tan bien que mi marido tomó dos! El ambiente era bastante fresco y sin duda vale la pena un pop in para echar un vistazo a su alrededor. No paramos por comida, pero lo que vimos saliendo a las mesas se veía encantador, más tarde nos arrepentimos de nuestra elección de no parar por comida, ya que el lugar que habíamos reservado no era tan genial para ser honestos ... . Definitivamente en mi radar para los próximos años Viaje de mercado de Navidad ❤️

Really 5 stars, the food we had was great and really tasty, we really enjoyed the dinner, the service was smooth and very polite, they kept the glasses full and asked if everything was to your liking. We will definitely come back

Fuimos a comer y pedimos dos hamburguesas. Cuando se sentaron a la mesa solo había uno. Señalamos que habíamos ordenado que se les dijera a dos oh hay un poco de espera en el otro y nos fuimos. Aparte de tener que comer por separado no trajeron ningún condimento. Tuve que preguntar cuándo conseguí mi hamburguesa. Cuando pedimos la cuenta, el camarero se paró al final y nos dijo cuánto era sin darnos la cuenta. Pagamos e incluso dejamos una propina que yo no tendría, él puso la cuenta en el lado opuesto de la mesa. Cuando mi esposo miró la factura, ya se había agregado un cargo por servicio a la factura. Decepcionado en nuestra visita.

1st of all, i would like to tell you that you did a great job by raising her from the ashes and bringing her back to life. The atmosphere and the way the tavern is decorated is amazing😍. Had a great time at the Royal Mile Tavern! We stopped in for a drink and loved the lively, welcoming atmosphere. The pub has a great vibe—perfect for relaxing and enjoying a drink with friends. The staff was friendly, and the overall experience was fantastic. Definitely a spot I’d recommend for anyone looking for good drinks and a fun, laid-back atmosphere!

Great menu, excellent food and service, nice pub atmosphere, and very reasonable prices for the quantity and quality of food.

Closed! A waitress told us there was a fire. Now it doesn't even have a floor (as you can sort-of see in the pictures). (I gave it 5 stars for past effort and future wishes. Plus it was interesting to look in the window and see the charred remains of notices on the wall).

Fuimos sólo para el desayuno, pero de quedarnos más dìas seguramente hubiéramos vuelto. La ambientación, la amabilidad y por supuesto el menú, hicieron de nuestra experiencia un momento muy agradable.

We had all day to explore Edinburgh so after our castle tour we strolled down the Royal Mile looking for a great place to eat. So many choices and we opted to try the Royal Mile tavern. It was just filling up with lunch crowd. Although short staffed, the bartender managed to keep all the tables hoppin. I got a very yummy bangers and mash. My wife got chicken pot pie which was good, but after I gave her a bite of my lunch, she wished she got the bangers and mash. Overall a nice place to eat.

Came here for dinner in the middle of the week. The atmosphere was spot on . Food was great and the music was perfect. Even my teenagers relaxed enough to talk with us

We stood in front of a closed door. Apparently destroyed by a fire... unfortunately the pub next door was open and cozy.

Nice place, wonderful food but sad that no salmon and no haggis was available … thats a no go. Regarding to that one star less.

Amidst a plethora of changing, faddy food places in a tourist hot spot, the Royal still stands out as a traditional- feeling howff, serving decent food, at fair prices in a warm atmosphere. It may be part of a chain these days, but most are,and this place still has the right mix of cheery banter and good vittles!

Essen ist sehr gut. Der Lachs war einfach nur köstlich. Gute Auswahl an Bieren. Personal ist zurückhaltend freundlich. Die Einrichtung empfand ich als sehr angenehm! Viele Bilder, Spiegel, usw. Die Musik war super!

A quiet weekend evening that still had a vibe

Amazing pub. Staff are friendly and wonderful and the food is exceptional. Cant ask for more.

The staff was very friendly, but over all the service was not great. We walked in and were seated right away, but then service after that was very slow. The food on the other hand was delicious! The waiter recommended the highland chicken, which I loved. They had plenty of vegetarian options and alternatives available, which was great for my friend.

Locale di grande fascino. Ottimo il cibo, a cominciare dall'haggis superiore a quello consumato in altri ristoranti. Avendone l'occasione è un locale dove ritornerei sicuramente.

I went for macaroni cheese big mistake. Tasteless def not worth the money plus garlic bread accompaniment was burnt. Never again. Left most of it and waitress said she would let the kitchen staff know - big deal. My partner had fish and chips again a big let down but he ate it as he was hungry. Would never eat t here again

Nous y sommes allés plusieurs fois, un midi pour déjeuner, service agréable et attentionné, plats proposés typique de la région et bonne bière. Un soir, pour l'ambiance avec live music super et grosse ambiance. Si vous ne devez qu'un pub, faites celui-ci sans hésitation

Granted the feasting platter we shared on our first visit didn’t look very elegant, but everything was cooked well and it was just what we needed after arriving in the city from London. We returned for dinner before flying home, with my wife enjoying the bangers and mash in a giant Yorkshire pudding, while I had the Highland chicken stuffed with haggis, which was absolutely scrummy. Staff were very friendly on the whole, and the prices reasonable for the quality of both food and drink.

Excellent hostel. The staff is always smiling and willing to help. Everything is very clean and comfortable! The location is awesome!!! I loved my stay at Royal Mile.

We came here for lunch over the Christmas period. Myself and my other half both had a locally caught haggis and then deep fried Mars bars for dessert. The service was friendly and the food was brilliant. I'd definitely come back

Saul and Louis were so friendly/ funny! They gave me great travel tips and they had fun trying to guess where I'm from just from listening to my accent! Highly recommend the fish n chips. Super flaky moist fish. They also have live music on some evenings

Came to the pub on a trip to edinburgh a couple of years ago and returned this weekend with my partner. We had a great time - there’s lovely drinks and atmosphere in the pub and the food is delicious.

Barman did not know what drink I wanted I tired to show him & another member of staff had a go at me ! On my birthday won’t be back He could not find the drink on the till ! I was only showing him I don’t think I look like I could cause trouble a woman in her 50 s What’s the world coming to ! 😡 Rude beyond belief

Un posto di sicuro interesse, hanno ricreato un ambiente che evoca la storicità di Edimburgo. Purtroppo la ristorazione non spicca per originalità, mi sarei aspettato un po' di fantasia in più rispetto agli altri ristoranti. Il menù è la fotocopia di tanti altri locali nella zona, la qualità del cibo è discreta, la gestione si divide tra sopra ristorante (prenotate) e sotto bar... Entrate e se vedete un posto libero vi sedete.... Non aspettate come me che vi venga chiesto di accomodarvi perché rischiate di attendere invano 😉 Costo in linea con tutti gli altri locali... Ovvero costoso ma se andate altrove forse risparmiate qualche Pound nel totale nulla di più

On a cold, wet January day I would recommend the Mac and Cheese and messy hot dog. The best warming, comfort food ever! The staff and their service are exceptional; the pub itself is lovely and welcoming. Visit this pub.

What a perfect spot to duck out of the December chill for a bite. Cozy, warm, and Christmas was in the air. Santa hat bedecked staff were so friendly and fun. Nice vegetarian options but beware when ordering the veggie fried sampler platter, it was enough for 4 people! Delicious and delightful! Will return if we ever find ourselves strolling down the exciting Royal Mile!

Came for pie of the week. After having to pay at the bar are order was forgotten. After 45 mins I mentioned to staff that did not have our order. Finally they released order didn't go through. Waited annother 10 minutes and was served a bowl of stew wth a puff pastry lid that was too small for the bowl. This is not a pie. Got a refund however lost an hour.

Went in with some contiki friends as a random lunch spot- couldn’t get a photo because we ate the food so fast! Fantastic food and friendly service! We didn’t even notice a wait time but they still offered complementary drinks as a thanks for waiting. So pleased with the service

Located as the name suggests right on the Royal Mile. Think the clientele would generally be tourists. We came in here as we had read that the Guinness was one of the better Guinness that you'd find in Edinburgh. Whilst the Guinness was not as good as you'd find in Ireland, it certainly was one of the better pints you would get in Edinburgh. Friendly staff.

Apart from good beer selection the Royal Mile Tavern suprised us with wonderful food - their Cullen Skink must have been the best one we had in the entire Scotland!
