Friendly welcome. The dining room is very pleasant. Smoked salmon, haggis, fish and chips—everything was very good. Thanks to Hanna who took the time to explain the menu to us. We'll be back.

Cenamos y tomamos cervezas aquí. He reservado una mesa, he visto a mucha gente apartarse. Clásico pub viejo. Tenía pescado y patatas fritas, esposa tenía pastel de carne. Las molestias fueron muy buenas. Tomamos cervezas Cold Town Brewing. Tanto el CAE del Báltico como Robert el Jugo fueron geniales. El servicio de Lily y la tripulación y el ambiente eran geniales. Recomiendo encarecidamente si quieres comida Pub.

Das Essen war super Lecker, die Mitarbeiter auch sehr freundlich, obwohl es im Pub total voll war. Reservieren ist unbedingt erforderlich, zumindest am Wochenende.

Great pub, great restaurant, great atmosphere. We first ordered drinks in the pub and waited there until a seat became available upstairs in the restaurant. The food was very tasty and was prepared quickly. The service was very friendly and nice. A great restaurant for those who like to eat classic Scottish dishes!

Neat and cozy place to grab a drink. Open mic is fun if you're around for it. Food isn't worth the time or money. Seems mostly like reheated frozen food. Go somewhere else for food.

My friend and I went for dinner tonight and had an excellent Sunday roast. The vibes were excellent and our server Ralph (?) was kind and accommodating. Recommended an excellent cider. Definitely recommend if your in town!

The Missus and I along with the boys and GF had our first lovely traditional Sunday roast dinner at The Auld Hundred. The upstairs dining area was not overly roomy but had a tight cozy ambience. Despite being busy, the service was very prompt and efficient. Everyone enjoyed their roast chicken or beef entrees, apple crumble and sticky toffee desserts along with local beers. Will have to visit The Auld Hundred again on our next Edinburgh trip.

Great pub atmosphere although not that big inside. Plenty of people coming and going up to the restaurant upstairs.

If you're here for drink, it does the job. If you're here as a tourist or a local, looking for some food and decent service. Don't come here. Me and my partner experienced food that was a lousy attempt at pub food, then robbed me blind afterwards with the bill.

We entered this pub by chance, but among the customers, we were the only tourists and other tables were full of Scottish accents ^^ The staff service is friendly and the interior decoration has a very Scottish feel! Sunday Roast! Since it was a Sunday roast where beef full of blood was always served, I only ate chicken... When I inquired with the staff, I was told that the Sunday roast beef here was slow-cooked so it was fully cooked, so I ordered it. It was a satisfying meal as it was soft and not at all tough or dry!

Food was very tasty but the service was very slow it took 45 minutes for our order to be taken. However waitstaff were lovely and polite :)

Nice pub restaurant on Rose Street. Cozy atmosphere to have food and drinks. The burgers were good, chunky chips were fluffy. The warm chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream was amazing!! We will definitely be back to have the cake and try other mains/desserts.

Great pub for a drink. Singer from 9pm. He had a great voice, but needed to speed it up. Pub would have been jumping!

Fish and the best I have ever eaten. I don't want to taste another one for fear of being disappointed. Frankly, you can order all the dishes without being disappointed even if you don't know what it is.

Was looking for a Sunday roast dinner in Edinburgh and found Auld Hundred on Google Maps. So glad we did. A pub with a great atmosphere in the bar downstairs and then upstairs for an amazing Sunday lunch. The Soup of the Day was flavoursome and piping hot and the roast beef was tender and tasty. A lovely bottle of red to enjoy it with. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a pub with amazing food, amazing drink and a friendly buzz.

Food was ok, not bad and not the best pub food. If you are strolling in Edinburgh, give it a try. But probably there are better places to eat.

We both got the steak pie and enjoyed it but far from the best pie we've had. The pub was charming but very busy. Food is served upstairs and the tables are in very close proximity to each other. Food service was quick. We had to pay extra for gravy.

Folks think it's small. It's cosy with nice vibes.

First visit to Auld Hundred - Excellent customer service by Hannah, nothing was too much trouble, she was brilliant. Food was excellent and had a lovely Scottish touch with decor and adding tablet to the bill. Will definitely be back!

Had a late lunch here. Service was friendly, and food was good. Quite busy for mid afternoon, but we were impressed.

Great wee bar. Just had a pint of two but good crack. Wee guy doing acoustic tunes etc but would have stayed until closing if I didn't have to leave.

Really nice pub, warm and busy. Me and my mate were there yesterday Saturday 4th July 2025. The two staff on the first floor were lovely but the staff member who wears glasses and came from the food area upstairs is so rude. Asked her what the pub was called and abruptly said look on the menu and walked away. She spoilt the experience. Amendment. Following your reply. It's so sad to think that managment would lie to cover up the bad manners of their staff. I asked only once and was met with total rudness. I asked you to watch your cctv which you obviously didn't. I won't be back

We found ourselves by chance one evening in that area and decided to try it. It was a wonderful discovery! On the ground floor you can enjoy live music every evening and enjoy a beer in a great pub atmosphere. If you're hungry there's the upper floor. We have been there 3 times and the service as well as the cuisine enchanted us. The staff is very kind, always smiling and attentive to the customer. The place is very clean and has a beautiful atmosphere. If you want to deprive yourself of typical foods this is the perfect place; the fish and chips are the best I've ever tried, the Haggis bombs made me fall in love, my favorite starter!! We tried almost all the menus, especially if haggins was an ingredient. The house cheesecake is delicious and you must try their simply unique and complete whiskey tasting. When we return to Edinburgh it will be our first stop.

A great cozy little pub where we had a great haggis and a really good beer. It is unassuming from the street so we had a "wee" luck that we decided to enter.

Had dinner with my sister on 12/12/25. We were served by Harris. The service was speedy and Harris provided excellent recommendations. I ordered the Haggis which was absolutely delicious and served piping hot throughout. Well done!

Located in Rose Street, a short distance from Scott Monument, it is a nice pub, typically furnished in wood, with a restaurant area on the upper floor. The staff is courteous, quick and caring with customers. The food is well prepared and is served in abundant portions. Excellent their "Sausage and Mash". Excellent desserts. Large and well -kept selection of beers and whiskey. Average prices for Edimburgh.

A small bar on Rose Street, offering up food drinks and live music. I popped in for a nightcap and walked into a session of live 🎤. It was fun and entertaining and the crowd was buzzing. I didn't eat, so I can't comment on the food, hence no star rating.

I rarely post reviews about restaurants, but this one was REALLY good. The drinks and food options were simply very tasty. The staff is also very helpful and welcoming. Exactly the type of Scottish dining experience that I wanted to have during our week here. I’d highly recommend this place.

Great food I got the burger with the black pudding sausage and it was very very good. Great atmosphere and very helpful people and very polite. Great restaurant I also try a beer and one whisky very good both of them too.

Sat upstairs with family for a meal, old style pub and staff very welcoming. Drinks order taken quickly and food order. Haggis balls and rarebit to start, yumm, steak pie n chips for 2 and fish n chips for 2,clean plates all round, sticky toffee pudding for desserts. Lovely meal, plenty of choice on the menu for food, downstairs is a pub, staff really nice, what more do you want?? 😋

Although it was very busy we still managed to get a seat quickly for a drink before our meal. The food was great and was served relatively quickly.

Our group of 4 had a fantastic meal meal here. We prebooked a table (always a better option because it's always busy). The food is served upstairs, well up a winding staircase to the second floor. We ordered our food and drinks, which came out not long after. There were no complaints about any of it. All were cooked perfectly. Although, as with most other places, the steak pie was actually stew with flaky pastry on top. The servers were polite, prompt and well presented. The toilet was unisex, so remember and lock the outer door next to the sinks if you need privacy here. There is another lock on the toilet door, too.

Enjoyed the Sunday roast. . Servers were friendly and the place has the authentic history of Edinburgh.

We had the perfect lunch during our stay in Edinburgh (fish and chips and Balmoral chicken with an amazing sauce). Kudos to the chef and thank you to Amelie and Ralph for their smile and great service.

Busy and crowded pub, good food, pleasant service. We went back twice, for drinks and for dessert after a disappointing meal elsewhere. I would return.

We ended up having a meal here by chance and I'm so glad we did. It's a very busy pub downstairs and restaurant upstairs. The menu is just perfect for me and the food wad delicious. Staff very friendly. I will definitely now be making this my place to eat when having a day out in Edinburgh. I'd highly recommend booking.

Traditional unpretentious “boozer” pub. Old school is how I’d describe this place in the most delightful way. Downstairs is the pub with stools & barrel tables making use of space in an almost ad hoc way. Great selection of drinks, non alcoholics, & a plentiful variety of whiskies to sample. Roatayion of sports in the TV and live music on varying nights. A spiral iron staircase take you upstairs to the dining area & the noise of downstairs drops away. Very attentive & friendly staff yet the dining remains relaxed. Traditional decor & food. No frills, nothing fancy which lends itself to great simple meals executed very well. Sunday lunch is very popular so make sure to book! This is the type of place that should be in guide books for visitors to Edinburgh who want tradition through & through.

We had pre-booked and were seated right away. Unfortunately it was so busy in the pub area downstairs and people were sat on the staircase that is was uncomfortable and difficult to get upstairs to our table. We were also seated right next to the servers stand so had no privacy for conversation. The staff themselves were great and the food was good pub grub at a reasonable price for the centre of Edinburgh.

A lovely pub with it's own restaurant up the stairs, very warm and cosy atmosphere, the food was EXCELLENT, the fish and chips were top notch, very well priced too.

Absolutely great roast in a comfortable venue. Ambience was good although bit loud from people watching the rugby downstairs. Would definitely recommend.

The ambience is great! A great pub! We ate a burger, fish & chips and a salad there. Unfortunately we didn't find the food that good. The fish was very, very soft and far too expensive (20€) and the peas unfortunately tasted very old. My companion Semi liked the meat from the burger. Below was the bar and above was the “restaurant”. I would definitely come back, but only to visit the bar.
