While we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and excellent service at this pub, we were disappointed by the quality of the food. The fish and chips were overly oily, and the fish lacked seasoning. As we're not accustomed to heavily fried foods, we experienced stomach issues the following day. I would recommend visiting the pub for drinks, as the setting is fantastic, but I would advise skipping the food.

Been here many times, great for city centre meals, Sunday roast is excellent. Usually a good spot to bring visitors. I would recommend booking a table, it can be busy any time of day. Last time I was there I had the hot chocolate with Baileys, cherry and gin lacquer, amazing.

My husband and I had came to Edinburgh for a break popped in for some dinner and was looked after very well by all the staff especially Katrina we were lucky enough to manage to get in the next night for a delicious dinner yet again highly recommended but booking advised

We had a lovely meal. The staff were excellent, very friendly and welcoming. We also had a few drinks in the bar while listening to a great singer.

The fish and chips here so far is the best that we have had in our visit in UK. The charge is reasonable and my husband enjoyed the single malt and the Loch Lomond Whisky.

The staff were lovely, the food was tasty but I'm only awarding 3 stars because the food/drink is extortionate in price! £7.50 for 3 haggis bon bons? Almost £6 for a bottle of cider? Almost £3 for a pint of soda water and lime? I know it's the city centre and you should expect to pay a wee bit more but, imo, that's taking the mick and has put me off going back.

Staff were amazing. Sunday roast was less than average. What a disappointment for a weekend in Edinburgh!

Very memorable and special night out with our son. Thank you especially to Amelie for putting in a huge effort to get us a lovely table on a packed Easter Saturday night out, and to Sabrina for top-class service. Atmosphere brilliant, awesome food, variety of afforable options on the menu, heaty portions, fantastic selection of house pints, and live music too to enhance the vibe. Walked away eventually full and very happy.

Sunday roast (both meat and vegan) tasty and very filling. Great tasting whisky. Very nice atmosphere, with live music downstairs. Very kind service.

They managed to squeeze us in as we hadn't booked. A great find near the centre of Edinburgh. Reasonable prices and lovely home made food including deserts. One to remember for my next visit.

We came here for a week and wow it’s been such a lovely place to sit down and relax, a small bar but has a lovely outside seating area. The staff are lovely and respectful. Not too far away from the main strip. i will be recommending this to friends and family and hopefully see you again soon
