Very disappointed on this visit. My prawn cocktail was brought ages before my husband's starter. It was very tired. Limp lettuce. No plate under glass. No brown bread When main courses came chios & peas both cold. Scampl & fish hot. Looks as chips & peas had been put on plate well before fish dishes. They had a large private party on that day but that shouldn't affect other customers. We were given 10% off but given chips & peas were inedible I think we should have been given one meal free as I could only eat the scampi.

Has an awesome 3 course Saturday carvey with family. We had pawn cocktail, tomato and pepper soup, Steak and Ale pie, Steak, Gammon and a nut roast, sticky toffee pudding, raspberry sorbet and white chocolate and raspberry cheese cake. Massive big big value for money portions delicious buttered veggies. Everything homemade and cooked just the way we like it. Everything was just awesome and we finished off with Jameson's cream liqueur coffee that was perfect. Deffo 1 of the best carvery's we've had in a long time. Warm friendly staff, nothing too much trouble to fix, veggies an vegans welcome. Fantastic selection of beverages. Just wish id taken some pics but it was so good i just wanted to tuck in. We're deffo heading back soon. 1000/1000 from us.

This is a honest review,we arrived at 8.30 really hungry went up to the carvery not much left and mostly dried up and parsnip hard as rock the guy behind the counter had to hold the cauliflower tray because hardly any left and so dried up the tray kept moving around when I tried to scrap it out, about ten mins later the guy behind the counter cleared it all away so we paid full price for the dregs ,I don't know why we did not say anything but when the waitresse came to clear up I did say it was very dried up she just said sorry about that smiled and just walked off. Will not waste my hard earnt cash in the pub AGAIN.

When we pulled into an empty car park on a Saturday lunchtime it should have warned us that this was not a popular pub. The service was friendly but very slow. The kitchen was even slower. It took 30 minutes to produce a limited menu meal when only one other table was occupied. The food was mediocre. I certainly will not be going again

Went for Sunday carvery- £16.95- plates were tiny and the amount of meat served was paltry, I expect to be given more than 2 half slices of meat. The website has images of mash, peas and stuffing when talking about carvery yet none of these were available. Made for a very underwhelming experience when these pretty basic bits of a carvery are missing. Gravy was very thin also. Wont be going back.

Visited for Sunday carvery at £16.50 to be served the two smallest pieces of meat I have ever had on a meal, let alone a carvery. Gravy was very thin, like water. Vegetables were fine, nothing to write home about. One of our party had the sticky toffee pudding taken off of the bill as they couldn’t put their spoon through it. Polite service was probably the best thing. Doubtful to revisit or recommend.

Went for the thursday steak night for just £10pp. It was hardly busy, maybe only around 5 other tables in the entire pub. Staff were very friendly and also funny, made us feel very at home. Very attentive staff too. Overall for the price to food ratio i must say it's a 9/10. The steaks are 8oz and far thicker than i thought and also juicy (don't worry, we had already eaten half the steak by the time i had taken photos). Salad was a bit on the questionable side, but it was still nice. Chips are also lightly spiced which is a good touch. Deserts, although expensive, were very nice and presented nice too with fairly large portions. Overall, i could not fault this place at all! I thought it would have a "tony carvery" sort of feel to it, but it feels like a normal country british pub! I would definetly come again, as we didn't spend much per person and the quality of the food was amazing (for the price).

Had a lovely meal at The Rose Revived yesterday. Was really impressed for my first visit. Was made to feel welcome by the friendly and hard working staff - Paul and Nick - as was every other customer in the pub. Nice to see the real fire going in the fire place, perfect for a cold January day. I thought the food was delicious and well cooked. I even noted some vegan choices on the menu (but sadly the main wasn’t available so that is the only issue i found). I had a glass of the Shiraz which was good too! Another aspect is the music it is not your normal run of the mill piped stuff, but thoughtful and well put together play lists to suit every taste pitched at just the right level not to overpower, but blend in and add to the atmosphere. Finished off the visit with a coffee in front of the fire chatting to a group of the regulars - again another friendly welcome and it was great to meet you all gents, thank you for yr company. It all combined to make a really lovely afternoon at The Rose Revived.

We booked with a group of friends for our annual Christmas lunch. We requested the marquee and everything was agreed in advance, number of attendees, arrival time, menu, etc When we arrived the marquee was locked. When we finally entered it is an understatement to say we were disappointed. It was the saddest place I have ever seen. Stacked chairs, dirty floor, a line of mistmached wooden table, not a Christmas decoration, no tablecloths (they said we were expected to bring our own tablecloths). They eventually put a joke of tablecloth, some cutlery and a few cracker after we complained. The food was inedible, we paid the full price as requested but the starter was miserable and the salmon was so dry it was basically inedible. The pudding tasted horribly. It was clearly old. The staff was unprofessional and very rude. I will not go back there ever. Avoid this place of you can.

The meat was cooked beautifully and there were 3 choices you could have.We were given the option of kids, large or XL serving, large option was more than enough as you serve yourself there was a great selection of vegetables. The pub is very popular so be prepared for a wait.A lovely selection of desserts available although, when we ordered they were in the process of serving the outside area which had 30 people,so did have to wait. This hasn't put us off though we will definitely be returning for another meal. The only issue with this pub being so popular is there is limited parking available.

Just been subjected to what was one of the worst meals I have been subjected to in a very long time. If I could have rated it less than one star I would have. It was inedible. The roast beef served with the carvery, desire being thin, could not be cut even using a steak knife. Probably better not to mention the vegetables. The chicken in the Caesar salad was clearly cooked some days ago. Drink orders were wrong, not once but twice. I could continue but won't. Despite complaining to the waiting staff and the manager no gesture was made when the bill appeared. Not even a drink free. Finally when I paid the bill and asked for my receipt the waitress simply walked off without giving to me and had to be called back. Would neither return nor recommend but more importantly would actively dissuade people from going.

My mum, two year old and I visited, hoping for a nice lunch on 13/06/2023. We were greeted by a polite member of staff, who was at the time, behind the bar. We were offered a table inside or out. We chose inside as it was a little too hot for my daughter outside. We tried to order drinks, the waitress said she wasn’t sure about one of them so went to get it for us to take a look. (My mum asked for cloudy apple juice). A gentleman then appeared, who I would assume is the manager. He proceeded to take our order stating the apple juice was cloudy and we ordered our lunch, off of the lunchtime menu at the same time. I opted for the “steak and onion ciabatta” and my mum had the “gammon and mustard”. The wording on the menu would suggest this is fresh steak and gammon but oh no, it was left over carvery meat, with the beef having been heated back through in gravy. It was almost inedible. I did my best to eat it but felt as if I was going to be sick so I discarded the rest. My mum also tried to eat hers, as we were all really hungry but it was clear the meat was not fresh. My daughters kids meal (burger and chips) was absolutely awful. She loves food but refused the meal (apart from a few chips). This was a burger straight out the freezer. Not one part of her meal was fresh. The chips even tasted as though they had been reheated. The server came around before we had started eating and then was not seen again until the end of our visit although it was quiet. (Only one table of two inside and a few drinkers out). When we challenged the freshness of the food, we were told it is fresh and they clearly did not care. Even though the food was inedible, they did nothing. No offer of replacement food (of course we would’ve declined) or monies taken off of the bill. Not even an apology for us being dissatisfied. Very poor customer service and even poorer quality of food. The entire place was grotty. I’ve attached pictures of their carvery serving station, which we were sitting adjacent to, which was not served on a Tuesday but had not been properly cleaned up in quite some time. Having spent years in the pub and bar industry myself, I would definitely say avoid. If the places you can see are that dirty, it churns my stomach to think of the cleanliness of the places you can’t! If we had seen how dirty it was before eating we would’ve left. We went passed the carvery serving station as my daughter was taking a walk while waiting for our bill. Even the paving around the building is hazardous, the pointing has crumbled and the majority of pavers are loose. It’s really sad, years ago, it was a really nice country pub.

Popped in for lunch on a Saturday and enjoyed a couple of hours here. The girls that served us were a credit to the pub and the food was both delicious and a good portion size. We took my 89 year old Mum and the staff were excellent with her showing patients and were very helpful. We would recommend booking a table as the pub garden filled up quickly whilst we were there and in poorer weather I would guess that would mean the pub would fill up as well. The new owners are doing a stirling job and Mum's already pestering to be taken back, she'll have her wish sooner rather than later.

When we raised this as a complaint we were told that's the way it's cooked , with a little gravy to give it flavour??. No apology, or discount was offered. The attitude was they really couldn't be bothered, take it or leave it , totally unprofessional, dis interested, non engaging customer service. I cannot fault the food or kind service from the lovely friendly staff, and the chef. One gripe, it was a Monday lunchtime and after, what I imagine was a busy Sunday, the garden had quite a lot of litter on the ground, and the tables had rubbish on them, were dirty, with bits of old food and dirty/full ashtrays on them so I cleaned our space and collected the trash on the ground so we could sit in a nice cleaner surroundings. Hence the 4 stars. Pity as I couldn't find fault with the food and service.

We came to the Rose Revived for my brothers birthday meal, hoping for a friendly pub welcome along with a tasty lunch. Not asking for too much. To say we left disappointed is an understatement, the staff were not welcoming, the lad behind the bar seemed as though he was still in training and was not sure how a busy Sunday pub runs. We saw what we assumed was a manager just wondering around, whilst the rest of the staff were running round like headless chickens. The chef on the carvary delightfully told us he was dealing with both the carvary and restaurant orders, with no assistance. Personally, will not be recommending this pub to anyone who is looking to enjoy a Sunday roast.

When we first found this pub the carvery was banging. Everything was lovely and hot & the roast potatoes were nice and crispy (cooked to perfection). Our 2nd visit was not as pleasant as the spuds were not as great as the first time and service was a bit slow. We thought we would hit it one more time thinking as the 1st time was superb maybe the 2nd visit was just a chef blip. Well I'm sorry to say that the 3rd visit was our final visit. The meats were cold, the veg had been sitting in the same spot under the heat for too long without being ruffled. The spuds were under cooked and the only way to warm up the meal was to drown it in gravy. I'm afraid we gave this carvery enough chances and it just can't perform in a consistent manner with the presentation of food so we won't be visiting again even though I did enjoy a lovely pint of Harveys.

Visited today for dinner with my family and was not disappointed. The pizzas are huge! Excellent value at two for £15 on a Saturday and great service. They didn’t have something that my husband ordered but came out with several alternative options. Very satisfied with the service received. Will definitely be visiting again soon!

This was our second visit, first we really enjoyed, not so much this time! Meat was dry, no gravy, so was bought to our table in gravy boat, watery and smelt of cheese, told the waitress but nothing was done! Seems to be a bit hit or miss!

Who the funk has pink roast beef at a carvery! THIS PLACE DOES….. absolutely unreal Sunday roast for £14.. and they do a cheese board. Remember this is the same price as a certain chain carvery restaurant….

The quality of the food is so variable. We had the carvery, the meat was cooked well, though only two slices. The veg was hit or miss, a lot of over cooked greens. Other dishes were ok.

Friendly pub and restaurant, well placed for walks around the Hadlow area. Had the Sunday carvery, the meat was good but the potatoes and veg were a bit hit and miss, some of it was underdone. Pint of Harvey's Best was in decent condition. Very pleasant garden area with a good sized kids play area. Worth a visit.

Probably a lovely pub but the unnecessary music on a lovely afternoon in a lovely village is completely destroying the ambiance what are they thinking, if indeed they think !

Beautifully quiet, comfy bed, bath was exactly the relax I needed after 4.5 hours train from Northumberland & London underground. Clean room, super friendly receptionist & welcome, evening arrival. Lo
