Beautifully quiet, comfy bed, bath was exactly the relax I needed after 4.5 hours train from Northumberland & London underground. Clean room, super friendly receptionist & welcome, evening arrival. Lovely cup of coffee. Beefeater right next door. Lovely quiet location & few minutes taxi from station.

Room was spacious but dated. Carpets threadbare in place, walls cracked and stained. Black mold in window area had been painted over. Hole in roof. Clear signs of damp and water damage from ceiling. Room was 26°c and window open to about 3cm. No air conditioning. We're provide with a standing fan, which made more noise then a Lancaster bomber. Bathroom was in need of some TLC broken tiles, dirty grout and plenty of limescale. Water was colder then the room! Bed comfy, slept OK. Whole ace needs

We booked a meal here with family . So, I can't comment on accommodation. The food was nice and tasty , but a bit overpriced for the amount they served .Nice for a special occasion, and they have a dog friendly area in the restaurant .

This is a Premier Inn that doesn't live up to expectations. The room I was in (30) had damp coming through the ceiling, there was so much silicone attempting and failing to hide the cracks in the walls. Hot water intermittent. I stayed for 3 nights, requested a quiet room, was informed the hotel was full so I was on the main road side. The hotel wasn't full on nights 2 and 3 so they could easily have moved me, but it wasn't an option. As for the neighbouring Beefeater, just don't. Like the hotel, it needs some tlc. Nice staff, though.

A strange experience. Like the Marie Celeste, it appeared abandoned when we arrived but, after finding a hidden bell, eventually someone arrived who told us we could not book there but had to do this on-line. This became an arduous process as it required entering large amounts of personal information to register so that we could then book. After many attempts my password was at last accepted and I proceeded to try to book. The cost for 2 people in 2 rooms for one night came out at £290. For a basic chain hotel this seemed excessive, particularly when the web-site headline price as £55 per person per night. Having tried to telephone and being kept on the line for ages with fatuous recorded statements, I gave up. Not an experience to be repeated.
