We went to the campground out back, it was great massive field and only cost 5 quid for two nights with power and Wi-Fi! Excellent would go there again

Terrific range of fresh food on the chalk board menu.I enjoyed a sausage plait, complete with fresh veg and tasty gravy. My son a delicious cheese, bacon burger, while my sister had Mac and Cheese (with bacon bits) which she said was as good as our late mum made. Excellent smiley service, clean toilets and a bright pub with a good atmosphere even on an early weekday evening.

Called in on the off chance. Very friendly staff, fresh fish ( rock eel) and two venison burgers. Delicious! Real ale on tap + full choice of drinks. Well worth a stop. 3 adult meals, 2 rounds of drinks + coffee £75.

This pub was recommended and we were very grateful to find this pub open after a long walk and there was a good choice of meals on the menu.My husband had a burger with stilton which was very good quality meat and I had the fish and chips. Best chips ever - proper chips. The prices were very good for both the food and drinks. Very helpful and friendly staff who were happy to serve us although very near to closing time. Would definitely revisit if we are back in that area.

Came in for lunch after a morning flying a Harris hawk. My partner and I both chose omelettes with ham, cheese and mushrooms, accompanied by a baked potato, salad and coleslaw, all of which were excellent. One of our companions had the pie, which he also pronounced to be delicious. Fish and chips were also first class. We managed to find room for puddings: Ginger sponge, Sticky Toffee Pudding, and Cherry Pancake, with custard, cream or ice cream according to taste. Wow, lovely big portions and again much enjoyed. This is a great place and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Particular thanks to Glen and helpers for a very warm welcome.

I read the reviews and was impressed but perhaps i chose the wrong meal, certainly only average. Good Ham, not so good Cheese and the salad best described as "chunky" accompanied by the customary 2 large semi picked Onions (Suffolk seems to be awash with them!!!), plus a slice of bread & butter. Wife fared better with the Suit Pudding but sorry overall not impressed. Regret neither was the landlord with my comments..

Very friendly atmosphere, bright light and airy surroundings, walled outdoor area. The food is of a high standard and served hot with all the meals being served at the same time (a bit of a bug bear with some places). The staff are very attentive and most certainly have an interest and pride in what they do. All in all a very pleasant place to socialise.

We were on holiday in the area and we’re recommend this place to visit. Best recommendation for sure as the food was just lovely and so tasty. I had the homemade lasagne which was bursting with flavour and most definitely better than any Italian restaurant I’ve eaten at. Great staff who were very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended to visit and eat here

We have just moved to the area & my parents drove from Kent to see our new house. Stuck for lunch & called the Rose to book a table for 4. I was greeted with a lovely welcome from Sarah & any question I had was answered. My Dad & other half had the fish & chips. They were huge! Good value for money & really tasty too. My Mum had the ribs, again, massive portion & really good. I had the Lasagne - lovely! We had a very warm welcome from everyone & that meant a lot. So thank you guys for a great Lunch, we'll be back again very soon I'm sure 😉 !

There is always a warm welcome at The Rose. The beer is well kept and served with a smile. The menu is plain and not extensive however don't go to The Rose for cordon-bleu; this is good, no-frills grub with generous portions.

We found The Rose after being in the area for a couple of weeks and wish we had ventured in sooner. Friendly atmosphere and owner and our meals were so delicious we went back the next day and had the same! What better recommendation is there than that. 'Real' ham with eggs and home baked chips for my husband and my favourite choice: lasagne, perhaps the best I have tasted. If we come back to this area we will 'adopt' The Rose and go for their speciality nights and quizzes etc.

A lovely traditional pub, with a very welcoming and friendly feel. The food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble - a very welcome change to the more usual pub chains and a definite highlight to the end of our holiday :)

The Rose is a great place to visit if your looking for a traditional country pub that offers good quality pub grub, welcomes you and your dog and has a warm and friendly atmosphere. There are quiz nights, bingo nights, theme nights, live music, big screen sport, a pool table etc. A great place to meet and make friends. A proper local that's happy to welcome newcomers, regulars and day-trippers alike. Keep up the good work Sarah, Jamie and 2B
