The Rose and Crown in South Tyneside

No j20 left for my 8 year old daughter offered fruit shoot to then then told have none left ,offered coke or lemonade had to order coke would of walked away but already started pouring my pint, asked for straw for coke told haven't any said quite bad at moment waiting for stock ,and the pint wasn't even that cold either worst pub ever been in not much changed since fiest time couple years ago poor service

Great staff, good atmosphere, but is let down by constantly running out of stock including ales & food choices

Knock on door, gent holding three white boxes, saying "Meal for you"Totally shocked, I asked "Where from" He said "Rose and Crown" new to this area, I asked for phone number, he is going to drop me details in when next in this area. Who from did not know

Although the Rose and Crown were doing takeaway Sunday dinners before lockdown I’m not sure if they did collections? A lot of businesses have had to adapt and offer different ways to keep ticking over so we came to a choice of a newly drive thru Sunday dinner at another pub or go back where we’d been before. Apparently the drive thru was absolutely packed so although our delivery was late (driver short on the the day) we made the right decision. The price was excellent, yes we decided to warm the seperate cartoned meals up in the oven, that was a personal choice. There were 8 veg and sufficient tasty beef as well as seperate containers of gravy each. They also had gammon, pork or mince and dumplings on offer. Very happy with our meals, and glad we tried home delivery.

First time we came to this public house and the staff are so friendly and welcoming.... They had a pub menu...great choice and carvery...the prices were fantastic and affordable. We ordered food...kids eat for £1 which is astonishing and the meals were to a very high standard, presented great and fresh tasty food...we couldnt fault the visit and we will be back.

The Rose and Crown is A local pub who advertise that they want to be the hub of the community serving good food. Their reputation for their carvery seems to be spreading and after our visit for a 3 course xmas family meal we all agreed that it is well deserved. We could only manage 2 of the 3 courses as we were all stuffed but were able to take away our desserts for later. The staff were friendly, the chef has pride in his work and we really enjoyed our visit. A nice touch was the selection boxes given to the 2 children in the party after their meal. Choice of chicken, turkey of beef, pigs in blanket yorkie and about 8 veg! The pub is huge and spread over one level and there were plenty of people either drinking or having the Carvery. Only criticism was it wasn’t well lit in the dining area and the room itself was a little bit sparsely decorated but the quality of the food couldn’t be faulted.
