The Rose and Crown in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Disappointed. One of our party was unable to eat their pork chop because it was very tough. Although we were not charged and hot chips and cold vegetables were bought to repace the main..it was very disappointing. We can accept al dente but raw and wet was beyond the par! Add to that the delay in serving the same person their sweet..at least 10 minutes after the rest of the party made the whole experience one not to be repeated.

Stayed overnight. Great pub - lovely atmosphere. Busy bars on Friday evening. Friendly staff (and pub goers). Big car park and Wherry Ale! Lovely bedroom, great shower and all you need. Residents lounge was a bonus, lots of outdoor seating and lovely spacious restaurant. Evening meal was a pricey disappointment but maybe we just chose poorly from the menu. Duck and noodles, bland and sloppy, salmon and lentils ok but again sloppy. Panne cotta and cheeseboard good but not great value. Breakfast was however fantastic. Great full English (best I've had) and stacked eggs royal with huge portions of salmon. Great coffee, fruit juices, toast, and cereal options. Breakfast menu all sounded wonderful. Great staff and really efficient and friendly. Loved Snettisham, loved this pub, the accommodation and breakfast. Next stay (and there will be another) we may choose alternative evening meal though. Great reception staff too and excellent bed and breakfast value.

Friendly staff, good service, very good food and reasonable too. We go there each year when I’m visiting my cousin in Snettisham.

Great little find away from the hustle and bustle of Hunstanton. A proper community pub with the backing of well presented and tasty food. Great outdoor area, with an outdoor bar and kitchen (I'll guess that it's busy in the summer) play area for children, friendly staff and locals. Visit this place!

A great country pub, warm friendly welcome, staff were especially welcoming and accommodating of my toddler. Delicious food and drinks in a lovely setting.

It might be good pub food, but we didn’t stay:( Chose this spot because the website implied fresh, local, changing fare… more upscale. I don’t eat most meats, gluten or fried foods & there was only one fish (battered cod) & not a salad in site. Very basic pub food. Burger, beef rump, lamb, shepherd’s pie. I hate to give so few stars, but felt they are really fooling people given what their site advertises.

The pub is in a beautiful setting and the interior is very welcoming. However the food was very disappointing. Mum mother’s food was cold and most of the lamb was fat. My seabass was ok but again the potatoes and broad beans were tepid. We did complain and received my mother’s meal for half price. The staff were very helpful and service was good.

Just had Sunday lunch, decidedly underwhelmed. Told it was really busy but sat in the corner of an empty room for the entire lunch. Did no one check that the vegetables were cooked, my wife couldn't get her knife through the broccoli, the potatoes and parsnips were hard, don't they know how to parboil first? Roast lamb was just bits and pieces and fat. Fortunately my roast beef was excellent. Very disappointed

The service & food was amazing. We had a table for nine people. All food arrived at once and was hot. Staff were happy and helpful.

Great pub, lovely decor attentive staff excellent food and drinks. Fabulous for families with a large choice for children and a super outdoor play area. Would highly recommend!

We found this lovey old pub by chance on a visit to Norfolk and had a lovely fish and chips. So we stopped again and had a very Good Sunday roast. All members of staff so friendly, Great old pub. Wish it was my local !!

We had an excellent meal at The Rose & Crown and I would highly recommend it. I had read the reviews and it didn’t disappoint- a very busy pub and an equally busy restaurant gave the place a great atmosphere. Service across all of the team was of the highest standard whilst also very friendly. I had the ribeye which was very good and my wife had fish and chips. Her fish was lovely and the batter so light and tasty (had to nick a bit as she was raving about how good it was). Good food, a very welcoming atmosphere so what more could you ask for.

I booked a table for Dinner Service, Booked originally for Monday however due to a car issue weren’t able to attend, We called and were offered a table the following night. We were greeted by warm and friendly staff, whose service you could not fault, and a beautiful restaurant area. A lovely menu with lots of options. We ordered two meals & drinks and didn’t have to wait too long for them to arrive. Both were delicious however had an issue with one not being hot enough, however as soon as this was mentioned to staff they offered a completely new main for us, they even discounted the new item by 25% on the bill as well. And super quickly it arrived, it was delicious and we couldn’t be happier with how they handled it. Will be back again.

Had a lovely couple of hours here while visiting the area. Lovely garden and fantastic staff in the outdoor bar make it a really easy place to visit even when busy. We were a fairly large group but all our food came out promptly and mostly as ordered. There was one issue with one meal that was dealt with fantastically by the waitress I spoke to and then the owner followed up with us to check we were ok. Complete opposite of The Victoria just down the road which we used on another day to try and mix things up - really should have just come back to this place, will do next time for sure

Really lovely meal. All id say there is no information about the service charge. It’s 12.5%, if you are buying drinks and meal suggest you buy your drinks separately as 12.5% on drinks and food make this meal very expensive compared to most places. Should be told this prior to sitting down.

One of the best meals we have ever had! Highly recommend this pub/restaurant. Menu amazing with specials too. Fish was perfectly cooked and all 3 courses were full of flavour and presented like a picture on the plate....beautiful. We will definitely return. The service was great and atmosphere friendly , huge fire in the bar and several other rooms with a selection of tables to choose from. My birthday was made all the more special by the food and service at the wonderful Rose and Crown in Snettisham. Thank you x

We were staying locally and have visited The Rose and Crown previously and always had good food and service - this weekend was no exception. On our first visit we had the R&C Burger and the pork loin - both were wonderful, freshly cooked with fantastic ingredients. We then wanted to book for Sunday lunch - we spoke to the team and they explained that they only had slots available about 4pm but they may have run out of roast dinners by that time - they do have a non roast menu. The staff said if we tried to get there about 12 then they would be able to accommodate us in the bar area. So glad we went the food was wonderful, freshly cooked and lovely ingredients. The service was great and the food arrived promptly. We had one roast beef and one roast pork with all the usual trimmings. Really really good food and quality - we then had fantastic deserts - apple and pear crumble and profiteroles both were delicious. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back when we are next in the area. I have no hesitation in recommending The Rose and Crown.

Went for mothers day lunch. Everything was perfect. Starters superb, roast beef main was cooked to perfection, dessert excellent. A glass of fantastic Montepulciano. Service was first rate. Lovely ambience to the place. You'd want it to be your local pub. Couldn't fault anything.

Whilst the food was tasty, when I asked about if a dish could be cooked without alcohol due to an allergy the response from serving staff was a flat no. There wasn't an offer to check with kitchen staff, an offer to see if the alcohol could be substituted for more cream or a vegetable stock, just a no. The menu had a leaning towards foods with alcohol within it. When it came to dessert, it would have been lovely to to have my favourite, profiteroles (particularly after the disappointment of missing out on my first choice for mains), much to my disappointment the profiteroles also had alcohol included in the form of a baileys cream. I decided to get the bill and leave. Overall, it was just rather disappointing about the lack of "care" to finding a solution to the inclusion of alcohol in food. I have fond memories of the pub and restaurant from going with my family as a child and teenager for meals. However, I was left feeling disappointed and underwhelmed.

Visited here one evening. Think this is the nicest dog friendly restaurant I’ve ever been in, decor and surroundings are stunning. All staff were welcoming and food/drink was tasty. Wasn’t the cheapest meal we had on our holiday but would say that the wine especially was lovely.

Decided on lunch out and the Rose and Crown was local to where we were staying so popped in on the off chance, they made us welcome even with our Greyhound, found us a table in the corner of the main room which suited us. Had a nice local bitter and ordered from a good choice on the menu, the food was quick and tasty and satisfied our hunger so much that we declined the dessert menu. We would definitely use again when next in the area.

We had a couple of drinks here after a lovely walk around the Sandringham estate. This pub, with it's warm cozy, welcoming fireplace is delightful and charming. The staff were super friendly and accommodating with a gorgeous roaring open fire to keep us warm. The menu looked fantastic too. Will definitely be back for food some time very soon.

The Rose & Crown Snettisham is wonderful. Friendly and professional staff, great restaurant, cosy traditional feel bars with a great selection of beers, and nice bedrooms. We stayed 2 nights and had dinner there both nights and breakfasts. The food is excellent and very fair value. Breakfast has a great selection and hearty portions. I really recommend this place.

Great Sunday lunch. My only criticism was that the beef was quite tough. It was cooked properly though. Not too overdone. The staff were friendly and attentive. The pub is like a warren. Lots of rooms and low beams. A building of real character. Great ambience. Can highly recommend.

Fantastic food. We went in for late lunch and had roast dinners and chicken curry amongst other things. Exceptionally cooked food and equally impressive front of house. Highly recommended!

Attentive friendly service in a lovely warm and bright room. The menu wasn’t huge but there was decent selection of food with plenty to temp you. My friend had the fish pie while I had cod loin. Both were very good - full of flavour and well presented. Puddings we’re delicious too. We had a leisurely lunch and were not rushed at all. All good and will recommend to friends.

Came in for Sunday lunch, only one person on the bar on New Year’s Eve at lunch time therefore drinks took a considerable amount of time to be served. We asked for a food menu 10 minutes after ordering drinks and ordered two Sunday roasts at £18.95. On arrival there was no cutlery so had to ask the waitress to grab some as she was walking away from the table after putting the food down. The food itself was freezing cold and the beef was tough. In a nutshell the service was poor and the food was terrible. Shall not be eating at the establishment again

A warm welcome and polite staff. Unfortunately the food was very poor. The fish was cooked from frozen and was, consequently, mushy and lacked and firmness to the flesh. Chips were dry, like warm and a couple were not cooked through. Won’t be paying a visit again.
