Went for lunch. Excellent service by the staff, food arrived quickly and was very good. Broad menu selection and lots of parking. Recommend.

Went for a Sunday roast, atmosphere and staff very welcoming. Meal came out quickly but needed to be hotter.

Really good meal, portions could have been a little more generous but it was lovely.

A big shout out to Gee who really looked after us and ensured we had a great experience. Lovely venue and a relaxing atmosphere 🤌🏻 Recently, we also joined in on the New Years Eve party bash. Rich took great care of us and made sure we were all having a fab time. We all really enjoyed it and the kids loved the “midnight” balloon drop and the disco too. There were loads to do to keep them busy and to tire them out. The balloon entertainer was a huge hit with us, he certainly was popular. Thank you for a great evening!

This is a nice pub. The atmosphere is good, and it's clean. The food was served quickly and was good quality. The quantity of food was reasonable.

Chose to have Christmas day lunch with friends. Pre booked in October and paid our booking along with our meal selection in advance. We were welcomed by staff who wished us a merry Xmas a nice touch, we were seated quickly and once our guests arrived we were asked about drinks. The drinks arrived quickly and soon after our food began to arrive. The food all three courses were hot tasty and well presented. The staff were quick with service and very attentive. The only negative I would say was that as the meal had ended we felt as though we were being rushed from our seat to be moved to the bar area, even though we had time left on our table. It was a minor detail but worth mentioning all the same. We would highly recommend the Roebuck for an Xmas dinner experience.

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience at the Roebuck. Bear in mind this was a pre ordered meal so absolutely no surprises. Drinks took 15 minutes to order and sat on the bar for another 15 minutes the coke was disgusting and we were told that’s the way it is. 3 of us had Salmon and we were told they have included king prawns at no extra cost, I think the truth is they had nearly ran out of salmon and stuck 3 prawns on the plate I would say there wasn’t even a tea spoon of salmon given. 3 had tomato soup, we were told it is now mushroom soup which nobody wanted but whilst we were there they were serving tomato soup to the next table. 5 had turkey main and 3 had steak pie. Mains were Ok ish, bought in pies not homemade. We had had enough by desert so we asked to take them away. We waited 30 minutes and when we got home there was nothing be desert short but they were in dirty tubs that hadn’t been washed out so straight in the bin they went. Toilets are absolutely disgusting. Over £315 wasted wish we hadn’t bothered and we definitely will not return.

Our party consisted of four adults and 3 children, we were looked after attentively and the children each received a colouring book and crayons. We reserved a table beforehand and unfortunately we were given a high table with barstools, not ideal for children. We asked if we could change but were told it wasn’t possible. We ordered two sharing platters to start, and was disappointed with them as they consisted of very little content for the price. The remainder of our meals were ok, but nothing outstanding.

Great spot for some lunch after Christmas shopping. Nice service and good food. Will definitely be back to try. Sunday lunch next. Recommend

Beef too tough to eat, half a glass of wine on arrival, not a full glass, coffee was served without asking how we take it, my wife does not take milk, did not receive salted caramel fudge, so basically for £155 we had a starter each, 1 main, 1 glass of wine, 1 coffee and deserts we took home, this was our first and last time we eat out at Christmas Very dissatisfied, disappointed and disheartened, we will not be returning or recommending your establishment

Came as a group of five for Christmas Dinner, and everything was lovely, staff so friendly, and all meals were as requested and cooked beautifully.

We went there for Christmas dinner at 12:30 arrived early 10 minutes out of respect. I was told to wait as table next to me was get situated as they had one of there high chairs blocking access to the table they wanted us to have. I asked the host/manager could we could please have another table as this one was stuck tight in the corner with not enough room to swing a hamster. He abruptly said no that he couldn't, even though the restaurant was half empty with at least 10 two tops available. There wasn't even a thought of entertaining the fact the customer wasn't going to be happy with the experience they were supposed to provide. I wasn't rude didn't make a scene just simply said forget it as it's only money we were going home. while waiting for my wife to finish up in the ladies room he reluctantly said in a tone of distain i guess i can seat you over there. I've worked in hotel business and pubs and clubs for over 20 years one being the 5star/5 diamond Ritz Carlton Atlanta. he could have simply asked me to wait had a look and refused me or accommodate my reasonable request of a half empty restaurant.there was no effort on his part so we left as we would have not enjoyed our meal beginning to think because my wife was from the Philippines we were being shoved in a dark corner while there were loads of open 2 tops throughout the restaurant.

Food and service good, and atmosphere is usually good, but on this occassion it was spoilt by an overly loud brass band playing Christmas carols - couldn't converse at what was a family meal - not against carols, but not at ear aching volume.

Thank you for making my son's 25th a wonderful family night out. Purely for the sake of a balanced review, my one niggle is please change the garlic bread back. Not loving the hard crusty square rolls. Otherwise a really lovely night. Thank you!

Friendly staff, food good. They dealt with a child who was happy to run about with knives , disturb us etc well.

8 of us went, some of the meals were ok but some were dissapointing, we thought there was a tea spoon full of cranberry sauce on the plate and no pickled red cabbage, however it was the pickled red cabbage and "I can't do anything about it, that's what head office says to put on!" Staff unhelpful for other things too.

First time here and tried the set lunch menu. I had calamari and fries followed by melt in the middle pud. Food tasted amazing and staff were lovely. Definitely be back.

A really friendly atmosphere, the layout means even when the pub is busy it feels cosy. Staff are very helpful and the food was really good - although the portion was quite generous so I couldn't finish.

The word here, in a word is: dreadful. Truly dreadful. Hot food comes out cold, cold food, comes out warm. Please do not eat here. When I finally got my food, it was cold. This food was replaced, with greasy, tasteless fries and greasy, tasteless scampi. It was totally not worth the money. Staff at the bar, were really unhelpful and not welcoming. The food server was the opposite - friendly, attentive and helpful. Staff were arguing in front of everyone too. We had travelled for an hour to get there for this. We're not happy at all, we feel ripped off. The response from team at Roebuck, does not make up for the poor experience we had. The food was not far from being inedible and the service from the bar team was dreadful.

Every experience at the roebuck is very pleasant, the food is always fantastic and so is the service. Staff are always very friendly and politely. Can’t recommend the roebuck enough.

Why oh why do they insist on increasing the volume of music in the bar area. We aren’t here to listen to piped music. We are here to talk and enjoy! It just makes everyone shout at each other to make themselves heard

Had a family meal out here and it was good. We made a mistake with our booking and booked for Saturday when we meant Friday but they were very accommodating and squeezed us in. I will definitely return again.

Let down by the fact it has had no dairy free milk every time I've visited.

We enjoyed a midweek evening meal here, enticed by a 30% off mains voucher that we received through our door. Whilst the bar and restaurant were fairly quiet (Wednesday evening) the atmosphere was pleasant and the staff welcoming. Our waitress Caitlin was very friendly and gave us great service. We shared a Camembert to start, followed by a ribeye steak and fish and chips. The meals were generous, It was just disappointing that the dried and almost cold mushy peas suggested that the mains had perhaps been sitting for a while before service. Whilst we didn’t dine late we were advised that the kitchen closed at 8pm…this was just 10 minutes ahead of the time at which we were given dessert menus. So something to be mindful of. Whilst I don’t envisage the Roebuck being a regular place for us we would certainly dine here again in the future. There is plenty of parking available, and also some outside space for the better weather. The drinks menu also features a reasonable selection of non-alcoholic beers and mocktails which is nice to find.

Very poor experience, no roast dinners available despite it being Sunday afternoon. Prawn cocktails very small with 1 lettuce leaf and no other salad vegetables. The person in charge did not care when I raised my concerns. No attempt to resolve the situation, I had already paid otherwise I would have not paid for that part of the meal. Very poor experience, will not be returning.

A busy pub, so service was a little slow. Food wasn't hot enough when served. Had to encourage them to produce the bill so that we could leave. Comfortable though, and reasonable car park, with ev charge points if you need one.

The beer was well kept and served at the prefect temperature and the pie, steak and ale, was tasty, and came with five vegetables and mash. The gravy was delicious. Thanks to our waiter too who managed to split the bill which was more complicated than 50:50! I will certainly be visiting again soon

Staff were friendly, helpful, accomodating and everything was done at a good speed. The food was good with lots of choices on the menu. Everything was cooked well and tasted great. All in all a good service. Was there a number of months ago and the service was slow, much better this time.

The manager has an awful attitude problem, his rude to customers so I’m certain he would also be rude to the staff which might be the reason the staff tell lies. They didn’t bring one of our meals out when questioned her attitude was very unprofessional, she lied and said it was sat on the side in the kitchen when it clearly had been forgotten. She should have told the truth but didn’t then brought out an undercooked meal and it was disgusting. The table was dirty on arrival and it’s gone down hill, which is a shame but maybe better management will come and it will improve.

Just went in for a Sunday Roast with my friends and the whole experience here at Roebuck made my Sunday 10x better. We’ve been taken care of by Sarah making sure we have everything that we need, as well helping us with some extra gravy 😋 I will definitely come again

We went for a last minute Sunday roast as I couldn’t be bothered to cook. The welcome was excellent, we were found a table straight away. The staff explained that they had a large private party coming in later but that didn’t make any difference. Our food was served quickly, it was a really good Sunday roast, I had Pork, my husband had the beef. I don’t eat potatoes so I had an extra Yorkshire pudding which was great. Highly recommend the Roebuck if you want a good no fuss meal, excellent service, excellent food and reasonably priced

Pie pastry I couldn't cut it was so hard they swapped it with sausage n mash without onion gravy it come with onion gravey so I could eat it the pudding come with half a scoop of ice cream and when mentioned it the attitude wasn't very good Avoid this place for food the just reheat stuff clearly

Spur of the moment visit. Got a table very quickly. Food and staff are excellent. Thank you guys, keep up the good work. Well the good work has ceased. We went there today Sunday 29th September. Booked a table for 3pm. We were told that there will be a 45 minute wait for food. An hour and five minutes with no food, yet the table next to us had their main and pudding delivered and still we were waiting. We had ordered two roast dinners. My wife had the pork and I had the trio. Each plate had one potato, one carrot, 4 parsnips, a desert spoon of red cabbage that tasted like jelly, some meat, a large Yorkshire pudding, a smattering of gravy and what only can be described as a pork scratching in place of crackling. Our dinners were plonked in front of us with no offer of sauces and no check back. We are our meal as we were hungry. Normally we would of had a pudding, but we complained that the service we got was not upto the usual standard and alm we got was, well you have eaten over half of your meal and so we cannot do anything. We went to pay, the person who was on the till, went and got someone else to see to us and he asked if everything was OK, we said no, but clearly he wasn't interested. We paid and left and we will not go back. It's a shame that a bad experience could have been avoided. I have worked in this industry for over 15 years in my back in the 80s and 90s and managed a few pub restaurants. My staff always sang from the same hymn sheet as they were trained regularly in customer service. If you want your customers to return, then do something about it

Came to the roebuck because my friend recommended it, and we left so happy with our experience. When we first arrived we were greeted by Duncan who was really friendly, helpful and welcoming. We were then looked after by Jade who was even more friendly and helpful, she even recommended a nice starter for us - the bbq cauliflower wings, which we ordered and they were amazing, they tasted great and we were so impressed! Our mains were really tasty too, I had the buttermilk chicken burger and it was probably the best burger I've had in a while. My friend had the hunters chicken and said it was really good too, I did get a bit of food envy when I saw it. We weren't going to have a pudding originally but with how nice everything was we decided to treat ourselves and shared a chocolate brownie sundae after Jade and Duncan helped us choose. Overall it was a great visit, the atmosphere here is so nice and relaxing, we felt so happy the whole time. Jade and Duncan were amazing, and are a real asset to the pub! We will definitely be back and will recommend to all of our friends too!

Took my elderly mother in there yesterday for a nice lunch to use the 30% discount voucher she received through the post. Got seated very quickly by Duncan who was very helpful in explaining to my mum the process. On ordering our food and drinks with Jade she was also very good at ensuring we ordered the right things, like changing normal fries for sweet potato etc. Food came out at an expected time and Jade and Duncan were very attentive without being intrusive. Overall The Roebuck is a very clean and friendly place to go, I would 100% recommend. WILL BE BACK.
