Great service from the one person working their socks off behind the bar, so friendly and a legend that I'd consider the sole reason for returning to the Roe Deer . I had a great evening with friends, the sunshine helped as we sat outside and reminisced. Had a pizza to soak up the beer, hard to choose which one from all the choice, could have had two! Thank you to whoever was working tonight, 31 July 2024. It was my farewell drinks at my company and I'm glad that I chose the Roe Deer. Thank you for contributing to an excellent evening.

Another wonderful little pub in the suburbs of Reigate a short walk to the east of the train station. The barmaid was absolutely lovely and happy to chat away to when she had the time. Lots of comfortable seating inside and a very comfortable beer garden out the back, with a large section under cover. The Guinness was excellent as was the Tribute.

Reigate has its fair share of pubs – some better than others – but you’d be hard pressed to beat the Roe Deer. The terrific bar staff, the occasional live music, the great pizzas, well-kept beers and friendly atmosphere combine to create a great local or perfect drop-in on the way in and out of town. The outside space is also a good mix of sheltered and open, which makes it ideal for the typical British summer. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better boozer in Reigate. Pub perfection!

Lovely pub with a great beer selection and fantastic pizzas. We went for a (slightly) healthier "Rock the Parma", which was a delicious combination of parma ham, mozzarella, parmigiano and rocket, albeit we couldn't really taste the advertised dash of balsamic glaze. Our friends had the chicken pizza which was generously topped with lots of cheese. Great that they do two sizes (8" or 12"). The atmosphere in the pub was great too, and the bar staff friendly and attentive. Apparently they have a regular band night each month, which I can imagine gets busy, but is definitely something I'd like to try next time.

What a disappointment. This used to be a lovely little jewel in Reigate's Crown. Now it is overpriced, has rude staff, is unwelcoming, horrific food and a refurb which has come straight out of an Essex nightclub. £53 for 2 double gins and 1 very average pizza and 1 revolting pizza. Did I complain..... No - We had been made to feel so unwelcome that we just wanted out. The pizzas in their boxes were dry and apparently getting us cutlery was too big a stretch once they had been chucked on the table. I will never visit this establishment again (which I am sad about because this was always such a fun treat) and will ensure everyone is aware of the decline in service, food and atmosphere.

Felt extremely unwelcome, drinks are ridiculous prices, bar staff were rude and unfriendly and the pizzas tasted awful. Really disappointed as used to love it here but the service was horrendous and the pizza was not very nice ( and for £13 I was expecting it to be amazing!!!). There were two of us and we had one drink each and one pizza each and the bill was extortionate!!! Didn’t stay for another drink because the staff made us feel unwelcome and was not worth paying those prices for another round. Ended up walking to The Hatch on shaws corner and had a fab time, with amazing drinks, service and prices. Should have gone there earlier. I would not recommend the Roe Deer in Reigate.

Well we were seated at 8pm and waited 20mins and still no service so I went and asked for menu and confirmed it is table service. Another 20 mins I went and asked if someone could come and take my order. Big suprise 20min later so an hour in we finally had someone come to the table and take out drinks order only to be then told they have been struggling with pizza base supply and had none left. This combined with the restaurant dog having a dump next to the table we were not happy. Not to mention if your specialty is pizza the you should at least be able to make your own pizza base it’s not hard. I have never had to chase for service and 1hr wait for ordering a drink is crazy.

It was a group booking and we were asked to pay upfront for three tables. I understand there can be no shows, but we were being asked to pay quite a large amount. In the end one of the group stumped up the rather large minimum spend deposit. On arrival we were made to feel very unwelcome, especially as not all the group arrived at the same time. In the end we filled just two table as some folks messaged and said they could not make it, meaning one table was not required. So, thinking we were being helpful, we told the rather rude member of bar staff immediately and were told we’d have to play for it even though other tables were available. Even as just two tables we ended up spending over the minimum spend. But when it came to settle the tab, the manager came over and wanted us to pay for the other ‘unused’ table. We pointed out we’d spent over the minimum spend and had offered the table back as soon as it was clear we didn’t need it. A rude bar tender or two you could maybe forgive, but clearly the bad attitude towards customers comes from the management. We won’t be returning.

*Resubmitted after the initial review was reported - very telling* We arrived here on time for a pre-booked 2 hour slot in the beer garden and were sat at the back in a newly built enclosed area, behind another table for 6. The outdoor area has been totally renovated and now boasts a well covered wooden awning complete with heaters, however the tables are piled in to the point where social distancing could be an issue at capacity. There were plenty of waiting staff circulating, however they weren't coming to the outer areas of the garden, mostly just sticking to the tables closest to the rear entrance and collecting glasses. It took ten minutes before we were given menus (which when you're not allowed inside to see what's on offer is fairly important), and it was then a further 25 minutes before we were able to place an order, and this was just for drinks! It should be noted that the only reason we ended up getting served was because one of our party technically had to break Covid regulations and go find a member of staff to come to our table! A further 10ish minutes passed by, and finally 40+ minutes after arriving, I was able to have a beer. A third of the timeslot allocated to our table used up waiting for one round when surrounding tables closer to the door (or younger clientele who were clearly friends with the serving staff) ordered three rounds in that time. Pretty shocking when you take into account that the place wasn't exactly heaving, with half the tables empty. Now, this is probably not entirely representative of the venue as a whole, and I do appreciate that the additional precautions that a business needs to take will impact on the experience as a whole, but this was way out of the ballpark for acceptable wait times, especially when this place is charging London prices and beyond for its fare. Sure, I can see why an artisanal G'n'T complete with endangered truffle garnish or whatever will run up a hefty bill, and to those pretentious enough to buy into all that, fair enough. What is ridiculous, however, is what they're charging for the less speciality drinks. A pint of Brewdog Punk IPA which, let's be clear, is basically the contemporary answer to having Heineken on tap 20 years ago, will run you £6.35! What could possibly be the justification for this price point? No-one is asking them to sell it for Wetherspoons prices or even close as it would be impossible for a small family owned pub (which is what they are after you sweep away the delusions of grandeur), and i'm sure the owners would be quick to say that it's equal to other places in town to skirt the issue, but it's really not. These prices exist for two sole, undeniable reasons; Greed, when they are able to corner a market just outside of town that will go back time and time again because it's 3 minutes closer than town and people are fickle, and the other reason? To drive off those who they deem to be unworthy of drinking in their establishment. Which brings me to the final disappointment. During our brief time here there was a chap there with a shaved head and beard, who would periodically pop out into the garden, saunter around scowling at people, and then disappear again. It was only as we were leaving that it became clear that this guy wasn't only an employee here, but seemed to be in charge of the place. What gave it away, you ask? Probably the fact that as we walked past him, he was proudly saying to a group that was sat close to the doors that he was refusing a booking for Sunday evenings because "only messheads want to come drink on a Sunday at 9pm". How pompous is that?! So not only will they rob you blind for a pint that's selling for over a pound cheaper less than half a mile away, but they'll only take your money if you're classy enough. In a time where hospitality as an industry is struggling more than it has done in over a decade, I find it staggering that someone in a managerial position could be so elitist. And if they're so unappealing as patrons, perhaps The Roe Deer should be asking themselves why they're attracting that kind of customer in the first place. I try not to leave a review without saying something positive, so I'll end with this - The gin selection is unparalleled in the local area, in fact I'm not sure I've seen a wider selection so far in the UK. If you have the time to waste, the deepest pockets, and a high enough Upstanding Citizen score to get past management, you'll probably do just fine here. As for me and the people I was with, we'll just get on with finding one of the half dozen other pubs in walking distance to spend our time and money.

Overall not bad. We had some draught beers, a gin and tonic and some pizzas and a garlic bread. The gin and tonic was nice and presentation was great. No faults there. But with central London prices I would expect no less. The food on the other hand was terrible. The pizzas came out after a very long wait (there were only two other customers in the pub) they were mostly cold which to be fair could have been a transient error. What can’t be excused is 1) the dough and 2) the garlic bread. 1) the dough did not taste fresh. It was very chewy and after finishing my 12” pizza my Jaw hurt and I’m normally a keen foodie. 2) The garlic bread- this was a terrible show. Really unforgivable. It was a plain pizza base with some chopped garlic from a jar sprinkled over the top. I could still taste the brine from the jar of chopped garlic used. I’m not even sure it was put on before cooking, but it’s possible. That was it. No butter and no herbs. This coupled with the tough dough made a very unpleasant experience. If this was a £5 pub pizza I wouldn’t be writing this, but they charge up to £14 for one their pizzas. Totally inflated. The service was quite slow but in their defence, it is only the second day of opening after lockdown restrictions. Obviously there are some big adjustments for them but a standard to uphold none the less.

You’d not want to be running a pub during a pandemic – it’s a tough balancing act. But the Roe Deer gets it right. The hygiene regime is good, the staff are universally excellent, the beers are well kept, the gins are plentiful and the pizzas are great. 5 of us went to the Roe Deer last week and the queue and checkin procedure (for covid reasons) was well organised and well handled.Ordered a round of drinks after being sat at the table for over 20 mins when a surly gentleman finally took our orders, they took a further 20 mins to arrive. I apprecieate things are trickier with the covid restrictions, but it took this long EVERY time we ordered anything. It was busy, but there were 3 people serving and 1 collecting glasses. There was the same compliment of staff at other equally busy establishments offering similar covid measures, but the turn around time was under 5 mins between ordering and delivery. We literally couldn't figure out what was taking so long and perhaps you were going to collect the drinks from another pub elsewhere. When we got the bill for the food and a round of drinks, I paid without querying it. Afterwards, we saw that there was an "Optional 10% service charge" included. Despite the slow service, I would have paid it anyway because I'm sadly British and it's polite, but I found it very cheeky to include it by default. Before we visited, I saw on your website that it was mandatory for groups of more than 10, but it appears covertly mandatory for every transaction, which I believe is totally unfair. The pub had the strongest covid safe routine I've seen, which obviously hampered service slightly, but I cant see how it slowed it down to a total crawl. I don't have a problem with that level of PPE and it shows the Roe Deer cares, but the whole effort was made entirely pointless by the wooden spoon to go into the toilet policy. Everyone passing around a highly absorbent soon whilst using the toilets makes a mockery of the whole system. Especially as the evening wears on and people become less likely to follow the sanitiser regieme on exit (which I fully support of course!).We spent nearly £300 that evening for the 5 of us and it really wasn't good value for money. Previously I have enjoyed the pub but I think it has a few issues to sort out so in the mean time, we won't be going back nor recommending it to others. Despite what you may think, I'm not a prepetual moaner and rarely complain about anything (this is the first time i've ever felt it useful to post a review on tripadvisor), but there are really some issues that need addressing in order to restore any confidence I'd have to visit again. All of that aside, the Pizza continues to be excellent and the drinks were great, especially the G+Ts with there excellent presentation.

I celebrated my 30th Birthday last weekend and had a great time. The staff were great especially Jenson who helped organise and I cant thank them enough for putting up with us 23 loud ladies :)

There's nothing not to love about this place.. My girlfriend and I had a great pizza and some extra special gin & tonics and the atmosphere was fantastic. A must visit!

This pub was a delight. A real surprise. On the outskirts of Reigate, wasn't sure what to expect. But now I cannot wait to go back. Tasty charcuterie boards, excellent pizzas, nice beer, wines and some excellent whiskys. I really cannot wait to return.

Cosy, friendly and quaint, with a good selection of drinks and a reasonable menu.

Had such a fab time at dinner recently on a friends recommendation. The pizzas are fantastic, and they make mean cocktails! I had such a great time, also shared a cheese board, so delighted, altogether lovely place.

Lovely location and great atmosphere. Good selection and choice of drinks. Food was a little slow but we were a larger group, a couple of our party had their accompanying side of the meal well after their main had been served (at this point they were all pretty hungry) when asked about it the staff didn’t responded the best. Eventually all food came out and was enjoyed. Staff need training and it will be a great place.

drinks were absolutely phenomenal, staff were lovely, however there were builders screaming and swearing and throwing tools on the floor when we visited. i of course understand that the staff cannot help what other people do but there was no effort to ask them to quiet down or even to just lay off the swearing as there were a number of young children in the cafe and it was incredibly unpleasant. i usually really like this place but im disappointed with my recent visit and id recommend sticking to the costa in redhill town centre if you can.

Overall nice food but would like some foods without a lot of sauces additions etc I had the fish and chips but salt was sprinkled over the chips this not necessary or wanted. I had the sicilian lemon tart to finish when i saw it came with a cherry amaretto sauce this have spoilt it I asked for the sauce to be served separately...I'm glad i did because it should be like this anyway Certain things need to be looked at to improve presentation for a better experience

ケーキやタルトで有名な老舗チェーン店。紅茶はポットにたっぷり、イギリスの水のせいかとても濃くて美味しい。サーブもてきぱきとしていて気持ちよかったです。

I had a free coffee token so wanted to try something different, but didn't want to go too high calorie. The lady was able to recommend a few options and I went with the Haze Maple Latte, which was real good.

A thoroughly enjoyable brunch with my wife in recent weeks at this cafe, and their poached eggs and omelettes are very tasty. I/we will be returning to try other items on their menu, especially their chicken curry and rice.
