The Rock Bar and Grill in Coleraine

Went here on a Saturday night in the hope of getting a table. It was closed. Apparently it only opens on Sunday. Why bother??

Popped in here with my mate and had a quiet drink. It was early on in evening so quiet and enjoyable. Gets busy at week ends!!

Eat here with 4 adults and 3 kids. Service wasn’t great, nobody came to take drinks orders etc. Kids menu wasn’t great and in general food and drink was expensive for what it was

I’m not one too write these sorts of reviews but as someone who is on holidays nearby and being a seaside town full of other holiday makers and children the behavior in this bar/restaurant was simply appalling. The language of the staff to each other and what I’m assuming is the locals was utterly disgusting. I’ve tried most other local bars/pubs/cafes and restaurants due to being down for the summer and they are a lot more friendly welcoming than this establishment.

Ate in this restaurant and unfortunately there was very little good about the whole experience. Order was taken for 2 salads (2 different types) and we had to wait for almost 40 minutes also the restaurant was not particularly busy at the time. The food that was described on the menu was not what I received on my plate. How can you go wrong with salad........but they did.

Ate here with my partner and 2 kids, waited about 30 mins before order was taken, waited another 45 mins for food, food wasn’t great, wasn’t god awful either, just middle of the road, bar man was rude, we ordered first round, which was fine, then had to order another drink cause food had still not arrived, he brought down wrong pint but drank it anyway, food finally arrived by this time we needed another drink so asked for more drinks and politely asked could we have carlsburg as they gave us harp before, he didn’t even wait until I had finished speaking, just walked off and didn’t bring us any drinks, so ate our meal with nothing to drink and left, not the best place, and wouldn’t go back, such a shame, and it wasn’t even really that busy, it was Monday tea time, I would hate to see this place on a Saturday

We stopped in this afternoon for a coffee and were seated by a friendly young lady, who took out order for two flat whites and two cappuccinos and offered to bring us a bottle of water. From then things just went downhill.About 10 minutes later a young man arrived to take our food order:When is our water arriving? I don't know- I will find out. Off he went and returned with a bottle of water. How many spring rolls are served with the starter? I'm not sure - I will go and ask. He returned to inform us that they did not have any. What is the soup of the day? I'm not sure- I will go and ask. He returned with the information..Two of the four coffees arrived..Where are the other two coffees? We are waiting for cups from the kitchen! Looking around the half empty restaurant I could not see a cup on any table..The two coffees eventually arrived - one sip confirmed that the coffee was good but cold. We returned them and declined replacements. The soup of the day and the chilli chicken dishes were good, the garlic fried were okay. When it came to paying the young man informed us that the card machine was out of order and there was a sign on the front door to notify us. We found the sign - tucked behind the door that was latched open against the wall..The most positive thing I can say about The Rock is that it gave us a really good laugh today!

Went with a group of 7 on a Sunday night. Fantastic food we tried the chicken stack, burgers both beef and chicken and chicken strips.Everyone enjoyed their meals and we had plenty of time to relax and enjoy our company.The service was excellent.Very relaxed surrounding to enjoy a catch up with friends right beside the railway stop.

Homely food and lots of it. Nothing pretentious but good value if you just need food. It's a pity the management did not done at the anglers rest to see how it should be done.
