Overpriced hipster spot trying to seem artisan. £2.60 for a breakfast tea and £4.35 for a two piece bap sausage bap.

Best hot chocolate I have ever had, their pastries are also very good. There is a nice and quiet atmosphere inside

Always a good coffee but staff are very dull and not friendly at all. The brownies are fabulous as well as the coffee, but don't expect staff to greet you well.

Centrally located cafe with modern minimalist ambience. The cinnamon brioche was probably the best I ate during 16 days in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Average cappuccino. Medium-high prices.

Coffee ok. Place inside could be doing with being refurbished and done up. It's very old and worn.

Ground Coleraine is where you get the best coffee in town and all the girls will make your coffee perfectly to your personal requirement's. Today we varied our order and chose frappes which are addictive. Big shout out to Leah and Tegan for their great service . Many thanks.

SERVED ROTTEN CHICKEN! Had a chicken panini and wished I hadn't... My sense of smell is not what it was so it was only after a couple of bites I realised that the chicken was seriously rotten. Really very badly off. I returned it and declined an offer of another one 🙄 They refunded me. But now I'm waiting for the consequences...🤮🤮🤮 I'll never be back 🤮🤮🤮 Oh and my sister told me when she went to the toilet before we left the toilet seat was covered in excrement.... Wonderful place altogether....

I liked the place it was just missing something I couldn't put my finger on... Might have been the surrounding closed down retail units which to be fair is not their fault. Nice food, clean shop, friendly staff.

Ground is my go too, fairly consistent coffee, great staff bar bar the odd exception! However, Poor poor Gluten free options, which means we can’t go here when I have my daughter with me. Gluten free is difficult I appreciate though contamination but come on Ground you can do better than a pre packed lemon slice !!!!

When I visited recently, the coffee was good. The person who served me certainly reqd help with customer service. She gave no eye contact, and not a word was uttered from her during my service. Not good for business.

Ground has become a staple in the landscape of Coleraine over the years, fantastic location right in the centre of town that is wheelchair accessible and has a good family environment. The hot drinks and sweet treats are always varied and super tasty while not being too expensive compared to other locations in the town. Would definitely recommend.

Stopped by the small ground in the train station this morning. Had a brilliant coffee and got a nice sausage bap for breakfast. Service was prompt and friendly. If I'm ever getting the train in Coleraine I'll definitely be back.

I have visited this establishment on numerous occasion the staff are incredibly friendly and will always help you out, plus the coffee is class and if you bring your own reusable cup they give you a whopping 50p of every cup! Thanks guys for all the years of great coffees! The baristas in the coleraine store are top notch 👌🏻

Had a nice chocolate muffin with clotted cream which was delicious; proper pot of tea that was just perfect - staff pleasant and helpful. Nice place.

I am a Starbucks addict, I like to spend hours in there using their wifi, charging my phone etc which I don't feel I can do to a smaller local chain but since Starbucks is no longer in Coleraine I have got to try Ground and their food and drink is definitely nicer than Starbucks.

First time I have been in months and the new place looks nice enough, still a bit grubby. I noticed a lot of old staff were not there (management problems maybe) food still not presented that well but coffee always good. New staff desperately needed with smiles as everyone looks like they are just out of bed. Will always come here but will miss my old favourite staff members, Stephen, Deirdre, Sara and Chris.

Ground reopened today after a refurbish. Must say it does look a lot brighter and modern. I like it 😁 They had an offer on of a free coffee to welcome customers back which was proving very popular! Cappuccino great as always, and traybake loaded with chocolate which was perfect to get me through a Friday afternoon at work! Keep up the good work!

Ground provide a perfect solution for midweek and weekend coffee stops - I just love the fact that it is a local business with aspirations for growth and positive development. Their ethos is admirable and the staff always friendly and welcoming - always have to dodge the sweet treats and buns though..sorry guys!

Hadn't been in this cafe in ages and as we were walking past, decided to call in for a coffee and a natter. Noticed that a lot of the old staff weren't there, not a good sign. Ordered 2 coffees, a wrap, and a bottle of water. Wasn't offered a tray so I don't know how the girl expected me to carry everything without making 2 trips. A girl had just arrived to order so I didn't want to have to keep her waiting but shouldn't have had to ask for one. Staff were pleasant enough though.

Food was lovely and service was fantastic will definitely recommend to friends and family. Loved the curry!

Friendly staff and some really good cake, particularly the Jaffa Cake Cake. Ground also have a card that you can use to earn money to spend in store. Handier than a bit of card with some stamps I think.

Always a tasty cappuccino and always spoilt for choice with traybakes. Today I went for a raspberry ruffle slice... and I wasn't disappointed! Friendly staff as always. Clean and tidy. Wheelchair accessible. Extra seating upstairs. I'm a regular and my loyalty card balance proves it lol :)

Met with a friend here recently. Service was good although the toilets could be a bit cleaner. The salted caramel brownies are the best in the land!

Impressed with the coffee! Other reviews said that it was dirty, but it seemed pretty clean while we were there. There's plenty of seating and wifi too which is a plus!

I have been a regular customer for many years. The coffee and food is still very good. However, the customer care and ambience are gone. The premises need a make over but this could be forgiven if the staff engaged with the customers. Up until a year or so ago this was my favourite place but no longer. Surely whoever is doing the books must see the drop in custom or are there too many Ground coffee shops now to notice or care.

Los baños están muy desagradable y maloliente, necesitan una reforma total. También he notado un descenso en el número de clientes, lo que podría ser algo que ver con el mal estado de sus alrededores. Detestaría ver esta cafetería desaparecer, porque me encanta, a pesar de la crítica. Había café y empanadas con amigos. La frambuesa y almendra era el mejor del grupo de pasteles que pedimos. Servidor era agradable, pero las mesas estaban sucias, y tuvimos que pedir un par de veces para quitar la mesa y limpiar.

Metimos en aquí para el almuerzo mientras espera el tren. El café era bastante agradable. Todas las habituales cosas dulces, sándwiches y wraps son aquí. En realidad había un mayor de elección habitual. El lugar podía hacer con un poco de renovación y el inodoro mal estaba en necesidad de atención. No está mal, pero hay mejores opciones cerca.

Este tiene algunos de los mejores café de la ciudad, pero está tan sucia por dentro. Desde las mesas de los pisos de la cubertería. El personal realmente no parecía importarles en absoluto. Los inodoros son absolutamente repugnante. He observado personal limpie las mesas y pisos y no hay esfuerzo poner en todo. Muchos lugares mucho más limpio para café en coleraine

I've been to Ground many times and find the staff friendly and helpful, food is tasty. I think they could do with a real good refurb of the premises, but saying that, it doesn't take away from the service.

I visited the Coleraine store today with my family. The cutlery was not clean what's so ever. I had to search through for a clean knife and spoon. The final ones that I picked were not so clean, but better than the rest. My cup for tea was also all stained. I find this quite a lot with this store as I never had the problem visiting the Portrush store.

Go here every Saturday to my favourite Café, has very good selection of cakes and sandwiches as well as offers of the month from coffees to sandwiches, we have the toasted cheese and ham toasty with side salad and crisps omg delicious so tasty ,then we have the Nutella cake which is my favourite cake so nice would highly recommend especially warmed.

The coffee beans Ground use are exceptional. But more importantly, the staff know how to make good coffee. Their cappuccino or latte or macchiato are perfect. If you are fussy about your coffee then here is the only place you'll get a good one. The staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for them.The surroundings need updating but hopefully that will be soon.

We had cappucino and the girl did her upmost to make it look nice. And it did look nice. But it tasted poor. The coffee was not strong enough. Besides: The table was not clean and the sugarbowl was empty.

Acabé sentándome aquí porque tenía que esperar una hora al tren asi que por no estar en una silla fría decidí estar en uno de sus sofás. Me pedí un chocolate caliente y mi pareja un batido de brownie. Todo muy rico, sin quejas, y para el precio que tiene está bien para hacer tiempo pero no es para ir expresamente alli a tomar una merienda.

lovely café and lovely staff and I really enjoyed my strawberry milkshake and mint areo muffin and the guy who served us even warmed my muffin up for me.I think this café manager needs to praise their staff more.I will be back.

Went this morning to ground with my husband. I havent been in here for a good few months. When it first opened i regularly met with friends and even my mum after school on a friday afternoon. It was new, modern and the place to be! I decided to go back there this morning and we ordered two suki teas. The tea came and the teapots could really do with a good scrub. The teacups had faint lipstick marks and other dirt marks on them. We exchanged them, only to receive similar ones. Hygiene and cleanliness should be paramount. I used to love ground, i loved the fact it was family owned as well. I think it needs brightened up and modernised. And perhaps a new dishwasher tablet.

It's now clear to us that Ground stores are consistently good but the staff at Coleraine on the morning of 22nd August will take some beating for their customer service. Very patient with our indecisive young daughter's and caringly thoughtful about what to recommend for our 5 year old's peanut allergy (Answer: Lemon Drizzle cake!!) Cool atmosphere, free wifi, great smoothies, tasty Flat White. Please bring Ground to England .... starting with Southwell, Notts which sadly needs the competition.

This is a great place to meet in Coleraine. Its central location makes it easy to find no matter where you park.The food is great the cheese and bacon bagel is very filling and i really enjoy the unusual coffee beans they bring in from time to time. There is a very good Ethiopian bean in at present.

I visited ground coffee at about 2 pm it is a small coffee shop . Coffee was great and good selection of food . The furniture was old and some chairs in poor condition but staff were helpful

Ground ticks all the boxes - a fantastic venue with local people and locally sourced products and sustainable coffee, beyond the norm.

It's a serious place this...the staff are seriously good, yes they make seriously good coffee but they have good 'vibes' too. The music is seriously good, little known artists but just so right. The Salted Chocolate Brownies are seriously good....no I mean really seriously good, don't go to Northern Ireland without trying them.There's no shortage of places for coffee in Coleraine but not all are at this standard, make a detour.

Very poor standard of decor. It was difficult finding a chair or stool without ripped covering. Floors needed swept and the covering on the stairs was well past it's sell by date.

Went for morning coffee on Saturday 2nd April. Understaffed, long wait, dirty tables, filthy stairs, generally needs to up their game. Coffee remains good, but not very often!! Owner needs to get this sorted and look at these latest reviews!!

the coleraine shop is filthy, from floors to windows. the tables are very rarley cleaned. the coffee is nice but the service is poor, grumpy staff who wont make you a sandwich after 3.30pm, even tho it doesnt close to nearer 6pm

They're s is a great wee place and the coffee is good all day long. Views are good and the cafe rarely gets overfull. The place could do with a good clean though as it is quite grubby ( the seats are stained, floors always have previous customer's food mushed in, etc). Staff are knowledgeable in their coffee and can offer good advice.

This is a great place for a cupa. They have a great choice of accompanying fancies, plus as an extra bonus - free unlimited wi-fi

Such a shame. This used to be a great coffee shop - standards have obviously slipped. Poor hygiene, dirty uncleared tables, coffee dreadful. Espresso served in a large coffee cup, americano served in a chipped cup. Traybakes stodgy. Would not recommend anyone to visit this particular branch of Ground.

Ate here last week food was below average and there cakes and pastries were dry processed and very overpriced.

Seating upstairs for laptop users I'm sure there no time limit free WiFi and good coffee and it isn't packed and noisy the gentle men behind the bar said hello on entering and were very nice asked me nicely and foam made in front of me love wee spot. Enjoy

We have visited this coffee bar on a number of occasions as the coffee is excellent. The most unfortunate downfall is the constant stream if flies around your face whilst trying to enjoy a treat.The staff are extremely pleasant and I spoke to them regarding this issue but as expected they are unable to rectify the problem themselves. The lady I spoke with was very approachable and seemed quite embarrassed by the amount of large flies that landed near our coffee whilst speaking to us.This matter is sad because Ground has everything going for it, and beautiful relaxing surroundings, but if the insect issue is not rectified I personally don't think I can return.

What better way to pass an hour when it is raining outside. The Hario V60 is worth paying extra for and the sausage rolls are great. Very friendly service and perfect people watching facilities as everyone else outside gets soaked

I visited this shop today and bought a regular mocha to take out. £2.40 it said on the menu. I was asked if I wanted cream on top and I said yes and was then charged £2.80! 40pence for a squirt of cream! This is the first time I have ever been charged extra for cream on top of a drink. When I asked if this was the usual charge they said yes. Apparently a lot of people mention this to the staff and they said management doesn't listen. Ive tried to tweet them but not surprisingly, my tweet was not allowed! The lady serving me chatted away to a couple of guys behind me and never even glanced my way. I thought it was a bit rude as she then proceeded to make their order before mine and they had to reach over me to collect it. Not very nice service and I wont be going back for more of the same. I'll stick to costa, neros and even sainsburys who all make lovely mochas and don't charge for cream on top!

I really used to like Grounds in Coleraine, but it is blindingly obvious that staff here are untrained and customer service is simply not important.On arrival, the tables are filthy and have not been emptied. Why don't they have a waiter service?! The conveyor-belt mentality simply means standing in line for 10-15 minutes and then either having nowhere to sit (at busy periods) or having to clean up yourself after other customers have left. Do I get to tip myself at the end then?I really used to think - fight globalisation, eat in a local cafe and avoid Starbucks. But sorry Grounds, I have to make an exception here.Have the Ballymena management of Grounds never eaten in IKEA and learned to simply put up a sign saying 'Please return your tray with your finished items on the rack' ? It's not rocket science and would make the cafe a lot more neat and tidy.I can't blame the few untrained student employees who work here: it's obvious most of the staff do not see themselves as long-term employees or 'serving' as a profession to be proud of. Other reviewers mistakenly call the staff 'waitresses.' Why not 1-star? Because the coffee (if you can find a clean table to drink it at) is actually very good.There are better cafes than this one in Coleraine. And my experience of Grounds in nearby Portrush has also been a lot more positive.

Used to be a big van of Ground. After my last visit I won't be in a rush back. When you come out of the coleraine store your clothes are "stinking". Plus the toilets were disgusting! This seems to be a theme in all the stores I've used. You have to hold your breath when you use them!! Come on staff, roll your sleeves up and get those toilets cleaned!!! The coleraine toilets obviously hadn't been cleaned in days!!

Visited this afternoon with my family; my two brothers, sister, parents and myself. The food was, as it has been on previous visits, very nice but I have some comments on the service we received.1) One of the waitresses was very dismissive, agitated and rude whilst taking our order. The staff are usually so genial, so it was odd to receive such hostile service on this occasion.2) Access for the wheelchair user in our party was not great, a feature that isn't singular to Ground by any means, but the lack of acknowledgement and assistance was disappointing.3) We had to clear a table in order to eventually get a seat which, given my previous point, wasn't an ideal scenario...Happy to discuss these comments if you feel they are unjust, but I feel that the staff working today around 13:30 really let you down today.

if stopping here don't sit near the cash till where the 'jack hammer ' milk shake machine leaves your head numb !!!also students/school kids should not be allowed to reserve seats whilst waiting on friends to arrive !!! - leaving oap's to struggle onto stools after purchasing!!

A visit to Ground is always a good experience. The staff always smile and are welcoming. The coffee is excellent, try the filter, it changes regularly, and the food is well displayed, prepared and served. The overall impression is of a very reasonably priced professionally run establishment with that important personal touch.

I have loved Ground as long as it's been in Coleraine (when you used to be able to smoke upstairs - glad that was banned!) and it's always always been a favourite cafe, the food is great, service is fab, coffee is amazing and it's a locally ran business and I'm so glad to see the family expanding their coffee chains! Keep it up Ground!

Met a friend at this usefully located coffee shop in central Coleraine early on a Saturday morning. Service was prompt at a similar price to elsewhere; so not cheap.The upstairs is a pleasant location for a talk over the drinks. They have a loyalty card so I might eventually have a free drink!
