The Rock in Cambridge

We visit here often, together or with the grandkids. The grandkids love it - the kids menu is great and the staff do everything they can to give them the best experience. I'm particularly fond of the gammon and pineapple, hubby loves the fish and chips. Emma, Charlie and the team welcome you with a smile and provide great service.

The pub is nice and big inside and has plenty of room for big groups. There's TVs all over the place so you can watch a game if that's your thing. The food wasn't great, my burger was burnt and not what I ordered but I was too hungry to wait for another one. Other people in our group also had issues with their food. Having said that the people serving us were nice and helpful. I'd likely visit again but not for food.

Came here for my birthday with my partner. We had a lovely meal and great service from the guy with the bandana, very welcoming and friendly! Would definitely recommend!

This place is beyond amazing. Best pub in Cambridge and the entire Cambridgeshire county. Possibly the best in east Anglia. Bandana man is the best. He always makes sure we are looked after. He has unmatched banter which is out of this world. He cracks me up on the reg. Excellent service. Sports on TV all the time. Amazing music. Delicious food. Outstanding beer selection. Pool. Darts. What more can you ask for? Thank you bandanna man. You are the best. I will definitely be back.

Always come in on a Wednesday and they are very accommodating as I've ordered before close sometimes and they put the extra effort to still provide me the food. Having worked in the pub and service industry, I know how hard they work so would always recommend this place.

Staff are always so friendly when I go! Food is always delicious and the drinks are always good quality. Everything is always reasonably priced and I love that there is good music playing whenever I’m there.

He estado viniendo a la Roca un par de veces para el período de Navidad. La roca tiene buena variedad de comida y bebidas. Me encanta el ambiente que trae el pub y el hecho de que tiene una mesa de billar para mantener a la gente divertida cuando está aquí. Llevo viniendo aquí unos años y el servicio siempre ha sido excelente. Chloe y Emma realmente unen al equipo y la energía vibrante. Si vas a parar en Cambridge este es definitivamente un punto para parar y visitar. Gracias al equipo por la hospitalidad.

Lovely chill local vibes, great service from all the bar people even if one (not mentioning names) tries to get us to have tequila every night. Good pub food though I haven’t tried it so just guessing on looks :))

Spent my Monday evening at the Rock, I wouldn’t say it’s my local but it’s a nice change. I had the pie and mash which was a lovely sized portion and very reasonably priced. I was served by vedha who was very attentive and enjoyed the playful banter. Food came out hot and quickly, but not as hot as the guy that served it 🥵

This is my queen and myself local, we quite often pop in, more now for the friendships we have created, the lad with the bandaner, who often serves behind the bar, and brings out people's food, we have created a great friendship with this man, he is so helpful in everything he does, how can anyone have an issue with this lad, or any member of staff there. 🙌vpn 🙃up

Great public house. Lovely staff especially Vedah and Declan. Go above and beyond for their clientele. Would always recommend due to friendly and attentive staff.

I went there to celebrate my friend's birthday, and it was a great choice! We had no idea what drinks to order, but then a bartender in a bandana stepped in. He asked us what we liked and promised to whip up something perfect — and he delivered! The drinks were exactly how we wanted them. Plus, he was super friendly and had a top-notch customer service attitude. For food, we shared a chicken and fries, which was a hearty portion and definitely good value for money. Overall, we'll definitely be back. It's so nice to have such a great pub in the neighborhood!

The food was okay, 31 oct 2024, we had a very bad experience from the waiter guy who was wearing a bandana (brown guy). I am sure he was drunk while working and serving us. Not a good service and professional approach, Don’t know why green-king keep such employees

Great Staff, Roomy easy place - I have two small quibbles - the step down to the gents is a. bit slippery sometimes - and i would so dearly love a wider collection of cask ales - stronger than Yardbird - like Abbots Reserve or Old Crafty Hen - That would clinch it for me :-) Thanks anyway!

Personal amable pero comida terrible. Pedí lasaña con ensalada y pan de ajo. Llegó unos minutos después tan claramente en microondas. ¡Parecía un pedazo de piel flotando en un baño profundo de salsa rojiza delgada! La pasta estaba demasiado cocida. La carne sabía a comida para perros. Grasiento y sombrío. Ensalada medio muerta y seca/ distendida. El pan de ajo estaba bien. No le daría de comer esto a mi perro. £ 10 completamente desperdiciado.

Nice local pub. Food is ok , at least it's not expensive. The staff is always very helpful. Nice small beer garden. Dog friendly too.

Friendly and clean. Beef pie has a rich meaty texture. The grilled corn strips are seasoned with sweet and sour sauce and coriander, which is very refreshing.

Great local pub, reasonably priced and friendly staff. We use it regularly and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Good selection of beers, ciders and spirits and reasonably priced pub menu. Comfortable seating indoors, covered outdoor area plus tables both front and back to enjoy the good weather. If you like a nice pub atmosphere and are looking for a decent place to go with friends or family, I highly recommend the Rock.

Lovely pub, great food and friendly staff lovely outdoor area with TV. We wanted to stay all.night but sadly had to go home back to Sheffield . I had the steak and cheese wrap 😋 it was gorgeous

I've been going to the Rock for years now and I have never been disappointed! I always love the food, the roast is amazing, I love the variety of drinks and they do some great deals on shots. Such a nice place to go with friends or family. Always a warm and friendly atmosphere and the staff are welcoming, in particular the young lady with long dark hair, she always smiling and has an infectious laugh!! All round fab pub in Cambridge!

went in for drinks with a couple friends but after reading the menu we decided to have a bite to eat, can confirm it was the best burger i’ve had in a long time. everything was cooked to perfection and arrived to the table in a timely manner. staff were lovely so massive shoutout to them as well. great atmosphere paired with even better food. definitely will be returning.

The food quality has remained outstanding throughout the past year, featuring a steady stream of new monthly burgers that are definitely worth the journey. They've also just launched a new menu. Coupled with sports TVs broadcasting all day and a respectable selection of beers, I'm looking forward to more visits this summer.

This pub has always been my/families local. I pass many pubs to come to this one. We often have family gathering here or pop down when there are events on. Staff are great and welcoming. Food is always good and there is something for everyone. Most importantly, it’s always welcoming which is why we will always come back! Thanks as always to Emma and the team!

Good pub with different type of food. Kids menu very convenient. I’ve had the tacos so yes sometimes different. The carpark is very very small.

With trays held high, a ballet of precision, Declan orchestrates joy with pure decision. His smile, a beacon in the pub's dark haze, Guiding patrons through their rocking maze. As guitars strum and drums set hearts alight, Declan's presence turns the pub to a delight. In this harmonious blend of work and play, He's the melody that makes the night sway.

Food was excellent - although chef couldn't cook me scrambled egg. Service OK but when a colleague spilt a whole drink over table,floor and clothing I had to ask for some tissues to clean up everywhere. Even the floor as it was sticky and had ice cubes on it. Apart from that everything was delicious and dessert and especially the custard was v v v tasty.

Great value for money! Great Sunday lunch; lovely fresh veg, very tasty, good portion size. Puddings were devine! Will be back for more!

Really enjoyed the lasagne. Hot and tasty. Option of salad rather than garlic bread. Large selection of reasonably priced meals. Husband said male toilet facilities did however let the venue down. Need a total refurbishment. Hence reduction on rating. I didn't bother going (oops too much information).

This was the perfect evening! We had some delicious food with brilliant service from all the staff. Finished off the night with the new Christmas drinks which were fab. 100% recommend!!!

Ordered 3meals and drinks. One dish came out looking very dried up. Sent back for fresh dish when came back minus garlic bread was told didn't have any. Offered drink. Instead had dessert which was very nice. Bar staff were very good and helpful.

A nice place on the High Street which always has a vibe and have some great evening events too. Definitely worth going to if you fancy a fun evening.

Very nice and friendly pub, we come midday on weekends with the children, relaxed atmosphere, our drinks were served by Vedha, he is always with a smile and a good word ready. Great place!
