The Rochford Hotel in Rochford

Yesterday me and my Partner got married here. I can not thank all of the staff, some I didn't get the name of, Jane (especially as she literally done everything!), Sarah, Claire, and Cain. Everybody went above on beyond for everything and I can never be thankful enough for how smooth and perfect the whole day went. I cannot recommend the Rochford hotel enough for you wedding. They make it personal, not generic. Thank you so much for everything ❤️

We had our wedding here on the 12th April. It was a perfect day. All the staff were incredibly helpful and polite. Your staff are a credit to your hotel. Jane worked with us from the start of our wedding jourmey at the Rochford and shes a true pro! She listened to what we wanted and created the perfect package. The food was amazing, especially the sausages and the cheesecake! All the best, Mr and Mrs Pryor.

Double room small but very clean, apart from the iron burn in carpet and stains on bathroom wall. Bed was extremely uncomfortable and mattress old, can feel the springs. Pillows were a little better but not a fan of the "plastic" covers underneath the pillow cases. Decent in room tea and coffee. Good price for early check-in, although the hotel need to ensure they are adequately staffed to ensure rooms are ready in time. Upon arrival, the reservation staff (and manager) were obviously stressed, and this made the check-in experience somewhat chaotic, but they did their best. Parking is not a problem as there are spaces directly outside the hotel and a public car park adjacent to it. Hotel bar stocked with the basics and didn't have a varied wine list, but it sufficed. Overall, it is a reasonably priced 3* hotel in a quiet suburb of Southend. Would I stay again? Probably not, but then again, I don't think I'd have another reason to.

The room we stayed in, is looking tired, shame really as it would be a beautiful place to get married. Also when we stayed it was windy, and everytime the wind was blowing a pipe outside was rattling and waking my wife and myself up.

A very nice venue for a reasonably priced wedding

Myself and my husband got married here on the 13/09/2024 and what a fabulous day it was from start to finish! We stayed the night before my wedding and nothing was too much for the Rochford hotel staff! Everything was set up exactly how we wanted it and the day went off with a bang, we had the twilight wedding package, special shout out to Jayne she organised everything and made sure everything ran smooth with everything we wanted and more couldn’t ask for a better wedding planner!! Special thanks to Sarah too on reception she was fantastic, she made me feel at ease and carried my dress until i walked down the isle! Thank you so much for making our day we loved it!! Hired for my brothers wake, food was lovely as was the room we had the wake.

Tired looking , grubby in places , pillows weren't great , bed comfy. Water wouldn't stay in the sink even with the push down plug in . Toilet didn't flush with ease . No lift , enough hangers for 1 person in our double room . Plenty of tea/coffee sachets . Staff were pleasant at breakfast, cold plates , warm breakfast

Great place to stop, room was huge, think I had an exec room though, apart from the Iron burn on the carpet, was clean & comfortable with plenty of room. Staff were helpful and friendly, it’s a little dated as an overall hotel but would definitely recommend if looking for somewhere to stay. Tips: use the local pubs for food, don’t be tempted by the Hungry Horse down the road it was abysmal, food was rank and the beer was off, the young barman had a sip and said he wouldn’t change it as it seemed ok to him! GREAT customer service! NOT! Try the Horse and Groom pub just down the road away, great family run pub food is good, selection of beer n booze is good too.

Stayed here for a Adam ant concert at Cliff's pavilion,but concert was cancelled last minute, unfortunately couldn't use bar as wedding 💍💒 was on

This place is excellent. Came for a family wedding and from start to finish I couldn't fault the place. Staff all friendly and helpful, food was delicious and plenty of it and service was excellent. The staff will have worked their socks off to make it so good, but it felt effortless and relaxed. Lovely building and garden, plenty of parking and over the road from the train station. Highly recommended 😁

Attention Mark General Manager Hi I would like to bring to your attention the condition of room 14 Bathroom. The extractor fan is not working and going by the condition of a large amount of mould in Bathroom it hasn't been working for a while . Which I expect will soon turn into a health hazard mould spores etc . Normally I would do a review on line but as this really was the only really bad issue to report I thought I would contact you directly in the first place . The rest of the room and breakfast were very good . Staff were great . But you really don't expect to see this when you open the door to your bathroom. Now reviewed on here as I didnt even get a reply very poor.

We went only to a wedding. Venue was lovely and the food was lovely a buffet. Really good.

Excellent Day/Night for my eldest sons wedding! 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It's such a shame we had to complain about several short falls as, aside from these, I would have given 5 stars. I think the problem is, whoever owns the building just hasn't spent enough on the general upkeep and things are going wrong. However, when we mentioned the problems to the lovely manager, most of the problems were solved immediately. The couple of other things will require a little time. Having said this, we were offered another room but declined as I was too tired to gather up everything we'd unpacked to move for just one more night. All of the staff were brilliant. The receptionists were helpful, the domestics were thorough and the manager was polite under fire and very hard working. Oh, and they serve a scrummy breakfast.
