The Robin Hood in Southampton

Popped in for a few drinks with some work mates on the sly. Didn't have any food so can't rate that, but the service was great and a really great vibe to the place. What you would call a proper pub. Loved it.

Booked a table for lunch at 2.30pm on 6th July via pub website booking system (OpenTable). When we arrived we said we had a table booked and were told we could sit anywhere, so we got some drinks and sat down. I went to the bar and asked for the menu and was then told they had no booking for us and they weren’t serving food. Member of staff behind the bar asked if we had booked online and when I said yes she told me ’oh the online system doesn’t always work - we’ve got crisps if you’re hungry’. Frankly she couldn’t have cared less that we already had drinks but couldn’t get any food - in fact she was quite rude. Staff are unhelpful, serve regulars in front of other customers, music was incredibly loud for lunchtime and overall a very unwelcoming atmosphere. Certainly won’t be going back…

Great local pub, friendly and bubbly bar staff, reasonably good priced drinks and great deals! good music, dog friendly, friendly locals and all round a good pub to have a good night out in.

Anita was doing a fantastic job of cleaning the bar area... It looked so shiny once she was finished..😎 The Robin Hood is a little pub with a lot to offer... There is a Wheel chair ramp accessed through the rear exit, shown in photo. Pool, darts and sports available with outside seating and covered smoking area.

3pm only the bar person and friends. Attentive service and delivery no draught service availability. Advised on promotion of Bulmers 2 for £6.50. Which I accepted 2nd round for my wife served promptly. Thank you we will be back.

Had a roast beef dinner excellent value for money, great variety of veg( caulflower cheese, carrots, sprouts, red cabbage, parsnips) , roast potatoes, yorkshire pud, stuffing would highly recommend

Great night out. Children welcome. Food took a while however it was bery busy.

Atmosphere was great, lovely place! Went for a meal with my family and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was delicious, particularly the fish & tips, cooked to perfection. Staff were all very attentive & helpful. Will return when we are next in the area 🙂

I visited the Robin Hood for the first time since it’s been taken over and what a wonderful experience, Gemma was friendly, helpful and welcoming, the food was outstanding, my family will definitely be coming back. What an amazing turn around.

Great local community pub. Excellent range of drinks, haven't tried the food but always looks good. Best venue in the area for live music. Have played there with my band numerous times, including just before Xmas and always a great night

Wanted to take my parents out for a meal and got turned away for being under 21. Absolutely disgusting that they discriminate by age, few bad eggs ruining it for everyone. If you don't like drunk people don't serve alcohol or get a doorman.

.can't do review as we arrived for Christmas Dinner highly recommended with confirmation at the correct time from London and was informed they have no food left we were not offered anything else explained we did not know the area still not offered even egg and chips we had nothing to eat as the places that did food were all preordered meals no would not recommend.

Had booked a christmas meal at the pub£54.99 each. We didn't get are glass of fizz or coffee and mince. No crackers on the table. Spoilt are christmas, shame on you charging the that amount

Tragically bad. A group went for Xmas dinner and although they had a few weeks to prepare, they didn't have what we pre ordered. There was absolutely no organisation or management presence. We still had a nice time because of the people who went and made the best of it but we absolutely wouldn't go there again. Avoid!

What a funny little pub to stumble across. On street parking, we were looking somewhere for lunch and arrived here. Kind of wheelchair friendly, I can safely say that owners need to upgrade facilities if they want to welcome more disabled/wheelchair users but judging by where we were I can see that maybe they do not come by all that often. There are NO disabled toilets here, which I thought was a bit shocking! This meant I had to manually pick up an immobile person to use the bathroom in very small, very slippery bathrooms. Owners, please hear us plea! You must have accessible loo! A member of staff told us that they have requested this several times to no avail, need to do better on that. Pretty standard pub food, to be honest, very cheap! Weren't we surprised! 2 generously portioned plates arrived at the table. Mine came a little later as the waiter had accidentally dropped it, I was informed right away, and I was fine with it as I was assisting with the wheelchair. Looks like a very well loved local pub by its users and a friendly place to be. If the disabled facilities were improved, we will definitely be back! Thank you to the young man who served us from start to finish.

Had a fantastic lunch with friends and took my daughter and friend brought grandchild who were very welcomed had colouring and freeing for them, the food was amazing couldn’t finish it all but of course had some room for pudding and the pub was very welcoming to us all great service will definitely come back thank you to everyone who was there today

Copying other pubs and their offerings - found some of the staff rude and sadly quality of beer lacking close bits dirty lager sadly won’t be back

Always here on a Monday for a Pepsi whilst our daughter goes to club, nice ambience! Only odd thing is, our same drinks cost something different every week. Sometimes £4.80 and other times £1.90 😂

Worst of all. We waited ages for our B.O.G.O.F Sunday roast, which was basically 1 meal halfed. Finally arrived cold, with no cutlery, ate half with our hands. Same price for all, no kids or S,M,L options, but that was fine. Only some meals were bigger than others. I asked if some were kids' meals, waiter answered it's B.O.G.O.F, that seemed to be his only answer. When I asked why do some have 3 potatoes and some have 2 he got aggressive and said if you want more potatoes you should have asked and stormed off saying I'm not dealing with this I'll get someone. But the manager was hid round the corner and no-one came. Worst customer service ever. We were only asking questions in a polite manner. Never eating there again.

Came in for a Sunday roast and the food was really lovely! I'm only giving a 4 star because they were short staffed (not their fault) and only had 2 people working so we had to wait 45 minutes for our meal.

Booked a birthday Sunday lunch here when we arrived they were not prepared no table set up even ! No balloons as promised when they took booking ! Party of 10 ppl plus children they could not even serve the main in time together two people had to wait ! No meet n greet ! No goodbye or thank you and no staff we had to clear own table and light candles and do cake ! What a shambles! No roast potatoes on roast either never again ! Disappointed!

Came here Sunday for a roast and was not disappointed ! Beef was cooked beautifully and the potatoes were crispy ! The kids roast was also amazing value for money! Definitely one to visit again. Thankyou:)

Great visit, was in the area and saw this pub it's a really friendly place. So warm and welcoming. Great selection of real ale. The staff were so helpful when it came to choosing a real ale. I'm not an expert but like to try new flavors. Overall 5 stars 🙂

Staff member extremely rude, ignoring us while waiting at the bar. Ordered food and after waiting 45 minutes asked how much longer it would be, she was eating food behind the bar and said won’t be much longer with a mouth full. Dinner was another half hour after this. Baring in mind, I could count on one hand how many people were in the pub. Will not be returning.

Well have no idea where some if these other reviews come from used enjoy the place before refurbishment Thought would give it a go Very disappointed and very overpriced Wasn't busy but getting any service took ages Food took ages and when did come all can say was edible may aswell of eaten in weatherspoons much cheaper and better So wanted this to be a good place to eat

Went to check it out after the refurb. Nice clean and fresh look - very nice. Busy but comfortable, had steak and chips which was great & pint of Moretti, wasn't going to eat but glad I did.

Popped in to see the newly refurbished premises it does look nice and fresh with the new colour scheme and new furniture.The stage has gone but I'm told the will still have live music but not as often . The bottom mens toilet hasn't really been touched shame really as thought that would have been sorted also,I'm wondering if the heating problem that was there before has been sorted it does get colder than your beer in there at winter. The kitchen has been made larger to accommodate for the influx of those that wish to eat ( hope it takes off as it never really worked before ) I had a few snippets of the food today and was pleasantly surprised .Menu is varied from pasta to burgers or a steak but it's not 5 star by any means . Still if you fancy popping in to a nice working man's pub for a bite and a beer (cheapest around at the mo) before going home from work then please do see for yourself the changes good or bad make up your own mind ? Will it take off with the food ? Who knows ? The menu was neither dear nor cheap but Sunday roast there was no price !! Its my local I will support it and I hope the new owner will make a go of it watch this space .

Walked to pub Asked if they served food and was told Sure if you order it yourself from deliveroo Place looked like it was being renovated but apparently its how it always looks. Shame as its close to my house. I'll not be going back. I gave it a chance despite stories that there is regular trouble there. No thanks, I'll find another pub

Great live music venue, pool table, cardboard etc. Staff were friendly as well although beer was poor, took a fair few pints poured to clear the cleaning fluid flavours, each pint was offered to me in the hope I wouldn't notice.
