Halal Master Fryer in Southampton

Not even worth 1 star. Chips the size of my thumb, not even a handful, could tell the oil hadn't been changed in a while. Wait was long, even though I was the only one in there. Leaves me questioning whether all the certificates branding 'best Takeaway' are real. Probably not? No, definitely not. Service not good either. Will be returning to my usual. Way better whatever you call this.

Place looks grubby. The man serving was coughing and sniffing up making a horrible noise which put my fiancee off even finishing her food which is a good thing as her spring roll smelt and tasted funny. So she was only left with chips to eat which was the smallest portion I've ever seen but even they were horrible. I had a pie which was just warm and the insides had dried out. God knows how many times or how long it had been under the light? But I ended up being sick early evening and been up throughout the night with diarrhoea. Avoid this place. Honestly think I've got food poisoning.

The regular chip size looks more like a cone of chips which is very disappointing

I don't know why all the other reviews say the service is poor .It was always friendly . Portions are pretty good and cheap to other shop. I like to be able to finish the food and not feel absolutely stuffed. It is gourmet 🐠 and 🍟

Was given mushy peas instead of curry sauce

Shop itself is rough as hell. Food wasn't the worst I've had, just about adequate if your really hungry. Just about does the job

spent nearly £50 on one small fish 2 medium and one plaice! the place was a tiny piece not more then 127 grm . £10 for that absolutely a joke

They sell true fish and chips. Other sell fish and french fries.

Food came cold, delivery time kept getting later and later to the point i got fed up and not hungy anymore! Will never order again!

Customer service is shockingly bad. Have fish ready cooked and when you request a fresh order he refuses. If you are not confident of selling your food then why pre cook. Cook to order man - it only takes 6 mins!! Told us we can go elsewhere, so we did! Reccomend Sib's 10 min walk. Plenty of fish in the sea right?

Master Fryer??? More like Master Robber. Avoid this place at all cost, worst fish & chips. £2.50 for a handful of chips?? No taste. Avoid!!!!

worst food ever don't order from here order fish cakes and there squashed, chips were nice, doner meat and chips would have been nice if it wasn't smothered in tons of sauce overall not good this chip shop has gone down hill so bad I wouldn't recommend anyone coming here unless u only want chips

didn’t follow order instructions despite me calling them personally to make sure they got it right. beef and onion pie was burnt and overcooked and the pastry on top was rock hard. the chips weren’t cooked properly. they were hard and too crunchy.

My mum ordered from here and almost had food poisoning! The cod was slimey and she immediately spat it out! Ordered through just eat and they refused to help at all! Reported to food safety. DO NOT ORDER!

Cod was gone off and slimey, near threw up after taking a bite, immidiately spat it out! Chips covered in grease aswell and definitely reheated

Was cold when i got it due to divery driver leaving it on door stop. didnt message or ring to say was out side just left it on door step and left. Normally delivery service is good but reall bad this time

Originally told the food was due from 3.50pm and it eventually arrived at 4.35pm. The driver was lovely, and the food was worth the wait. However, I couldn't use the curry sauce as it was far too runny and went everywhere!

I was originally given a delivery time of 17:10, then it kept changing. When the food arrived, it was cold, the chips were awful, hard and chewy as of a couple of days old and the pea fritter was dry. It was like chewing cardboard. Also, the price has gone up, but the portions are a lot smaller and the quality

Jumbo sausage was to die for the chips were not fresh still nice but think been in the hot holding area for a while. I would order again.

Short waiting time, friendly staff, fresh and hot food and a variety of drinks. Student offers and I go there a lot and recommend it to everyone who loves a kebab or fish and chips, they also go burgers sausages and other stuff.

Best fish and chip shop in the whole of Southampton!!!! No one does a kebab and chips like Masterfryers! Really recommend coming here as the food is always so tasty and cheap and the staff is always so lovely.

Chips were really poor quality and were obviously made with bad potatoes. The batter on the sausages and pea fritter was soft not crispy. Overall not a good eating experience.

The morning disgusting chippy I’ve ever had! The fish cake was like wallpaper paste, the curry sauce was like water and the battered sausage! 🤢 I’ve never had to spit anything out from a take away until now! Nothing had any flavour. Keep a wide birth. It shouldn’t be a take away more like a stay away

Most of the food was delicious. However, I didn't appreciate the two bits of blue plastic that were in my fishcake. I nearly choked on it!

A friend lives very close so got food many times. Staff are always friendly and polite and food is always very good. First time I got it delivered from here and arrived promptly in perfect conditions and as good as whenever ive visited the shop

Batter sausages is absolutely disgusting batter is soggy and sausage is really mushy should really consider stop leaving things for a long period of time after being cooked! I have order a medium chips to get a small portion worse fish and chips I had yet won’t be coming back!

Fish was good, chips okay, batter sausage appeared to be yesterday’s left overs warmed up ! But the real tell tale was the driver rang me and demanded I collect from his car outside the property ! Lazy git couldn’t be bothered to get out of the car so I have to walk out in the freezing cold - will not use this place again

I ordered 28 pounds worth of food. Asked for a ketchup sachet after they wanted to charge me 10p 😂 but a guy ordered a kebab for £5 and they splashed ketchup everywere this makes no sense. 😂 very mediocre food

When ordering the burger there was no mention of Mayo in the burger, the person eating the burger is allergic to Mayo and couldn’t eat it. The spring roll is the worst spring roll I’ve ever had, it was processed and very bad in taste. The battered bars wasn’t great The best part of my experience was my drink.

like any chip shop, there is a mixture of lovely plump chips and some scrappy bits, the batter on the fish was much less soggy this time, generally good quality and food good value

We get delivery regularly, this time the fish batter was really soggy and inedible; I could barely detect the houmous in the wrap. Chips are the best we have found in Southampton (most trad English - nice size and not over-crispy

The order was incomplete as I ordered Scampi and chips but only received a tiny bag with 7 pieces of Scampi and no chips at all. The Kebab and chips were fine no problems with that part of the order.

The order was delivered 7 hours early - either JustEat's website did not record the scheduled time I entered, or the restaurant got it wrong.

Nice flavour, crispy batter, xhips were soft inside and crispy outside. Price a bit high, but it is Southampton

great fish and chips, could have been wrapped in a layer before paper /outside paper which was soaked through and falling apart. curry sauce warm but rather thin, salad 90% lettuce, clearly washed as it was very wet. Will order fish and chips again from them

The food is amazing and the service is on the same level. Seriously, chef is one of the nicest people I've seen. Lamb is not really my favorite but this here was good. And fries (chips) like these top-notch.

Delivery time was alright. Food was not good at all. Ordered a large fish and it was very small. The batter on the fish was way too soggy and just dripping in oil. Chips were okay, I have had better. The battered sausage was horrible. Soggy batter and a mouthful of oil in every bite. Had to bin it. Sadly, I won't be ordering from here again.

Both burgers were a total mess of sloppy (wet) chopped salad and lots of mayo & ketchup (not requested), unable to pick up & eat as was such a sloppy mess, NEVER AGAIN.

Menu listing didn't say the chicken steak burger would come with ketchup, onions and peppers.

The fish still had skin on it and there was hardly any of it. The chips were soggy.

No worries. Decent fish and chips delivered quickly and on time and hot enough to eat. We like our batter to be more golden and crispy, and our chips to be firmer. The whole thing looked a little anemic, and tasted a little bland, but that's us being fussy. We were absolutely delighted to be able to have fish and chips on a Friday night. We all enjoyed it. Decent sizes. Decent fish & chips. Delivered quickly and on time.

The food came on time no complaints there. I’m not a fussy eater but it wasn’t very nice - the batter on the sausage was all soggy and undercooked and the Chinese roll wasn’t pleasant.
