I got a recommendation from a friend to try this small cafe / tea room and I was not disappointed. Its a cosy little place set on the Wansbeck riverside just outside Ashington and it serves a good selection of reasonably priced snack food and delicious cakes. Access is via a ramp at one end and stairs at the other, there is both indoor and outdoor seating, toilets (including disabled) are clean and dogs are welcome. Just outside the cafe is ample parking with a picnic tables, a nice childrens playpark and for the more energetic a lovely riveride walk. Food was very good quality, very tasty and good portions (especially the cake!!) A great base for an afternoon out with the kids, give it a try.

Lovely little riverside tearoom set in the rounds of an upmarket mobile home park. Paradise for dogs. Simple eats for us - tea/coffee blueberry scones. When they say blueberry scones they ain't kidding. You can sit on an outside terrace overlooking the Wansbeck River and a happy kiddies playground or inside with a variety of seating including armchairs! Clean loos as well. Happy to return to this idyllic hidden gem.

Menu was varied and food was delicious with massive portions. We visited twice during our stay to Rothbury. Weather was glorious when we visited so we were also able to enjoy a drink in the beer garden which had lovely views of the Rothbury countryside. Staff were also very friendly. Would highly recommend!

Myself and my husband visted yesterday with our two dogs. Lovely old school house with Falstone history to read about. Delicious cakes and coffee and a nice chat with the owner. Extremely dog friendly with lots of space and the dogs each got a biscuit ☺️👌

Nearest pub to our accomodation, spent several evenings here chatting with the locals and enjoying local ales. We had the pie off the day (steak and ale) one evening and it was delicious. Definitely more steak than you usually get in a pie. Had to have several more drinks before heading home else we would have needed a push up the hills!! Nice little corner with local products in the coffee shop area, cakes looked rather tasty but we were only in of the evenings.
