Will was an amazing bartender took alot of.time producing us a brilliant espresso martinis. The guy deserves a raise! X

Called in Saturday morning for breakfast, waited about 45 minutes for 2 breakfasts, when they came, both were luke warm and the bean were cold with a skin over the top, bacon was over cooked, texture like a beer mat. Both returned, ad our money back. Disapointing

The chef should take a bow. Seriously the food was amazing. We just couldn't get enough and to top it off from starters to mains it just got better. The front of house staff were really friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend visiting this establishment or risk losing out. 👍👍👌

I like the river house, I've had a few meals in there. Sometimes it's really loud in there which isn't a major issue, just something to note especially if you go on a peak Sunday service etc.. The food has always been generally been good. They do reasonably priced offers on 2 or 3 courses too... Last time I went the gravy was pure beef bouillon which was far to rich and kind of ruined my appetite.. That being said, I've had 4 or 5 roasts here now and they're always enjoyable. Starters are small but tasty. Desserts are really nice. Service is decent, if not a little slow sometimes. Worth a visit. Nice walks around the marina after too..

Super nice staff and great service! We ordered fish and chips twice, even though the portions were very large, simply because it was super tasty. The vegan dish was also definitely recommended!

I would not reccomend this establishment, poor quality ,poor service, and exceptionally rude and condescending management. In responce to the owners reply.. Blackmail.... I did not attempt to blackmail you in any way. I pointed out that i had not left a review,despite being sworn at, having the wrong order given and poor food.Nor did I receive any CCTV footage, nor did I eat all of my meal, and yes I did complain about the pork on the day. It's clear once again that you are missing the point. As you have from the very beginning. Had I not been charged for the deposit for those that could not attend , I would have paid my bill and just never returned. I had no desire to berate you or your team in public. But the facts are the facts. The food was not great and the service was poor. Had it been good food and fabulous service I wouldn't have chased for the deposit refund. I believe that given the circumstances , I was quite right to do so. Keep the £20  you clearly need it more than I. I just hope that at some point, you are able to take a step back and realise that this is not the way to make customers return to your establishment. You are rude and clearly unable to take criticism,  or take into consideration the wider connotations of your behaviour. I hope when you and your family next go out to eat, that you have a similar experience to ours. I wonder then if you would leave a positive review. I doubt it.... having been on the receiving end of your scaling tongue,  and witnessed your rudeness. Have a prosporous week. 🙂

We came here for our first wedding anniversary meal, our first date was here so it holds a special place for us. A young girl was our waitress and she was really polite and couldn't do enough. Food was lovely and a great selection of cocktails

The River House was booked for a family birthday. We were all Disappointed with the food, My plate consisted of half of a very small bass filet, which was over cooked and layed on a bed of very salty couscous which could not be eaten. The Pork Belly dish was very small and the pork was definitely not slow cooked. The mashed potato looked and tasted like instant mash. The chicken dish again was dry and over cooked, the mashed potato tasted like instant mash. The service was ok, although the water we ordered for the table never arrived so one of our party had to go to the bar and ask for it. The back room where we were sat was extremely loud from other diners, this was definitely down to a lack any soft furnishings in the room to damper the noise and echos. it was a difficult experience for my elderly relative as they couldn’t join in any of our conversations. The noise levels were actually stressful so we decided to skip dessert, paid our bill and left. I did mention to the male waiter about how loud it was, he said he often had trouble hearing the customers when ordering there food in this room. In all a very disappointing birthday afternoon I wish we had gone somewhere else. Ms C Millson

Lovely service and setting by the marina but sadly the food left much to be desired. Starters were passable and came quickly, but mains were practically inedible - it was much like eating at a Berni inn in 1985. My husband ordered a ribeye steak medium rare - it came overcooked (medium to well at best) and was served with a very naff shrivelled up grilled mushroom and tomato garnish. My pork belly was so overcooked it was brittle, extremely tough and the “crackling” had a consistency of rubber. The pomme puree accompaniment was hard, dry and tasteless. My daughter had sausage and mash from the kids menu - she left both sausages despite being hungry and described them as “crunchy”, as well as saying the gravy was bitter (it tasted burnt). We were pleased to be given 50% discount on food and could not fault our waiter, who handled our disappointment and honest feedback with efficiency and professionalism. He seemed genuinely disheartened and only too happy to try to mitigate the situation as best as possible. I would not recommend at all…unless you like burnt, overcooked, passé cusine.

Great place by the river. Modern and clean inside, staff are well presented and friendly.

Firstly I would like to say, that I reached out to this restaurant, my complaint was acknowledged, but they DID NOT came back to me as promised. The main course was a total disaster.. meals were all brought out separately,, one finished before another received theirs. All sides were brought out at different times too. A few of us had ordered sea bass (off your menu) and about 45 mins after everyone’s food they were brought salmon… with the explanation being ‘the menu has changed and the fish choice is now salmon’ What the annoying part is, we had preordered all our food, and not once where we told that you weren’t able to fulfil our choices. No one explained to us on arrival that your menu had changed, and we were just given the alternative without being told. The 2 people that didn’t want the salmon were then told, ‘if you want the sea bass you will have to wait another 35 mins’ considering they hadn’t eaten, then this is what they chose, as they were starving by this point. I asked to speak to the manager, as we were really disappointed by now… and did not want to pay for something that we hadn’t had. The manager arrived and was not very sympathetic, he did apologise and ask ‘what do you want me to do!’ He explained that the menu had changed and the options we had picked were not available. I explained that we weren’t happy to pay full price for the people that had not eaten, and he said I can take £10 off their bill (the set menu was £30 so basically he wanted to charge us £20 for starters and a dish of icecream! He said ‘well I have to charge you for what you have eaten!) I said this does not work our fair.. and where is your good will gesture for our disastrous meal.. so he offered the two people a free drink (quite insulting to be honest) The worst part is yet to be explained.. some of us wanted to pay by card and some cash. I collected all the cash, and worked out everyone’s amount.. and they all paid their own card payments. The bill came out without the £130 deducted.. so explained this, and he said that’s fine.. well Sort it out. Everyone then paid their amount and we were about to leave. The manager then came over and said there’s still a balance of £120 to be paid… I said there can’t be as everyone has paid their total amount, and that the deposit hasn’t been adjusted. He basically argued with me that I had to pay £120 as this is what I owe. By this point I was so upset as the whole occasion had been spoilt.. and I didn’t have another £120 and knew that everyone had paid up and didn’t owe anymore money! I quite rightly refused to pay… and he told me ‘just go, I can’t make you pay’ and waved me out!!! I was so angry and upset by now!!! I could clearly see, that the receipt had not been adjusted to include the £130 that I had paid. I then went to another member of staff and explained to her, and she could clearly see that I was right.. and that we had paid in full! She then went to your manager, as I was too upset by now, and explained to him… As we were about to leave he then came over and said ‘it’s my mistake I’m sorry, I owe you a drink!’ How insulting!! I just walked out! Not only was this terrible customer service, it cost them a lot of money, as you had to make extra food that no one could eat.. and now I will never return to you food Not one of the 13 people on that table would return to your venue. All of this could have been avoided, by just letting us know the menu had changed.. and giving us the new menu the day before.. or on our arrival, instead of serving us different food and hoping we would not notice!!

Went here today as a group of 7. Food took over an hour to arrive and when it did the vegetables where hardly cooked. Very disappointed.... I can recommend the welsh house which is across the road. Food was really nice and service was much quicker

Such a great restaurant and well deserved bib gourmet rating. First I made a mistake and we booked for 1 less adult despite having a cranky 2 year old with a high chair we were professionally seated and accommodated . Starters , mains were unbelievably and so tasty , dessert was sublime . Two bottles of the rose blush helped set the evening and beautiful view. Staff worked really hard and provided pen and paper to occupy child and a children’s menu . Brilliant staff . Awesome food

Living locally we thought we would try The River House for the first time. This place is right on the river and the front the restaurant looks very appealing. We were very excited try this place out for our breakfast but our experience couldn’t be further from the truth. Unfortunately the service and staff behaviour was terrible. We will never be going back, even when we live across the road. I have never had such a rude encounter with a waiter. We waited 20 minutes to receive our two orange juices and after a further 45 minutes we still hadn’t received our food. The two tables next to us came and ordered after us and even left before we had our food. After sitting patiently we asked if our food was on the way and we were reassured that it was. Eventually after an hour we got our food. We mentioned to the waiter that we had waited an hour and that we would appreciate this was reflected in the bill. He said, ‘let me look into this for you’. This waiter never returned and after eating our food I popped in to have a word with the staff. I explained the situation and the argumentative and dismissive nature of this staff member was unbelievable. He was in a different shirt to others so I assume he was the manger. I went on to explain that we had waited an hour and he interrupted me saying, “tough you have eaten your food so we don’t do refunds” I couldn’t believe it. Surrounded by other costumers I felt quiet embarrassed at his tone and volume, but they couldn’t believe the way this man spoke to me either. I then went on to say politely that we had already spoken to his colleague and he was going to look into it for us so wondered if he had chance to do that. He interrupted me again and shouted ‘we don’t do refunds, if you are unhappy then you can just leave, just go!’ and aggressively gestured towards the door. Speechless I walked away to never return again. Not getting an apology or even a refund is one thing, but being asked to just ‘leave’ because of it was shocking. It’s as if they don’t want the business or even bothered about reputation. As I returned to our table my partner was speaking with another couple who said they had also had to wait for their order. How can this place still be in business. How can this man be in a costumer facing position. Avoid this place! They don’t deserve your custom.

This has to be the worst restaurant, ever! There was no service!. Staff were rude and uncaring. First of all 5 starters never appeared and when asked, we were told chef had forgotten and arrived over cooked. The wrong soup was sent to the table and we were told chef had decided to change what was on the menu that day. When the starters arrived other guests were on their main courses. 4 salmon were undercooked, we were told that's how it is served. The salmon was sent back 3 times by one guest. Sea food linguine had 2 prawns and a few muscles on a pile of pasta, when asked to have a few more, they just shoved some Salmon on the plate which we think came off another dish, which had got sent back. Then the guest who had ordered berry penicotta got pineapple & mango, again chef decided to change it on the day. All the meal choices had been pre ordered as we were a large party. When we raised our concerns we were met by extremely rude, uncaring staff. No good will gestures were offered and no discount, infact we were over charged and had to go into battle to have a revised bill. Plus there was no itemized bill which is concerning in itself. It totally ruined my birthday as our attention was constantly on how bad we were being treated. BE WARNED, STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT

17.30 on a lovely summer's day and we had arranged to meet friends at The Riverhouse. Firstly, there were plenty of tables free but they were all covered in plates and glasses that hadn't been cleared away. One customer was taking plates into the restaurant so that she could sit down at a table. We went into the bar area that was reasonably busy but not crowded by any means. The bar staff made no eye contact, they were surly and unfriendly. Through the glass partition we had full view of the kitchen. A member of staff with long black greasy hair, that was not covered or tied back was drinking something out of a large plastic jug. The bar floor was sticky and dirty - this clearly hadn't been given a good clean in many days. Outside there were discarded cigarette ends and rubbish littering the floor. We had one drink and then left. This used to be one of our favourite places to eat and drink but it will be a long time before we will return. There is much competition in the area now so they will really have to up their game. I did try to contact The Riverhouse to tell them of our experience instead of posting on this site, but they don't have an email address. I know they will make excuses for being busy etc etc, but this level of uncleanliness is unacceptable. There were seagulls picking at leftover food, causing glasses to fall to the ground breaking and leaving shards of glass that were a danger to dogs and children.

A relaxing place for a midweek lunch. Convenient location and a simple menu offering a great choice. We both went for toasted ciabattas. Beef and caramelised onion for me that was delicious and well presented. Sarah had a bacon and melted brie. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting Swansea. It was a short, flat, pleasant walk from the Village Hotel, which is our home for the next few days.

Just not very good. The staff were nice. The service was quick because they were closing the kitchens at 830. Monday evening only three tables occupied. We chose our good then found our several items were off - the place has run out of Parmesan so no linguine risottos or salad. Could not one predict this and go to a shop 😂. Overall very poor

Went for food here 30/06/24 as a group of 9, and In all honestly was not what we were all expecting. 5 ordered fish linguine dishes and 4 ordered roast dinners. 3 members of our group were so unbelievably disappointed with the linguine dishes and they said they tasted ‘off’ and the bits that didn’t taste ‘off’ weren’t very pleasant to eat. Out of the 4 that had the dinners, 3 have been unwell with sickness and stomach cramps. We had 3 beef dinners and one pork belly. I feel like it should be expressed when ordering the beef dinner that the beef would still be moo-ing. There should be the option to have the meat cooked more. However there wasn’t. The vegetables were still crunchy, which isn’t a deal breaker. The gravy.. well the gravy was just atrocious. It was like they stuck some stock in water and presented it. It was tasteless and just not a nice texture. It made me feel like my dinner was floating in soup. The pork belly was like jelly and inedible , again with crunchy veg and soup water😬😅 Atleast the frozen deserts were pleasant. Highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding. Also the waiters/waitresses weren’t great. They were pleasant enough when they actually spoke to you, however most of our group set without drinks for near enough 25 minutes until we called a waiter over. They also knew the food wasn’t good as they didn’t question why half of it went back. In hindsight would rate the overall experience here as a 3/10 just because the desert was nice.

Perfect spot for a sunny day brunch. Great view over the marina, perfect for people watching. Staff acknowledged us as soon as we entered and were on hand to take our order. Food was great, though perhaps could have been a bigger plate. Still, £25 for 2x brunch and drinks was never going to break the bank. Chose here after poor experience nearby, definitely made the right choice.

What seemed like the manager was rude, he was a short balding man with a big attitude problem and a complex. Came in a few weeks ago and have definitely not recommended to anyone else, much better places out there for sure.

The River House is situated in a fantastic location in Swansea Marina. Having not visited for some time family decided to try Sunday lunch. Unfortunately the food did not reflect the location. Small portions, veg on menu not included on plates and food was warm verging on cold - not value for money. The staff could not be faulted on service and politeness. Not sure if I would visit again.

Heard good things but my belly pork was disappointing not much of anything on plate jus not much either . Belly pork fatty yeah but I think I had a small square of meat ...prob would choose sonething else next time. As service and general atmosphere very good .

I've been to the river house many times, the food and service are always amazing! However, this time I wasn't impressed by the food so much . The service was fabulous as usual. I will definitely go back, I just hope it was an off day or just the food I ordered wasn't to my liking.

Only popped by for tea/coffee and ice cream but must say a lovely atmosphere sat out in the sunshine today.

A very thin rump eye, so almost impossible to cook it medium rare (which it wasn't) and the batter on the two large pieces of Hake was so thick it was a little under cooked. But otherwise had a nice evening, good wine and despite some of the issues with the food it was good quality and tasty.

Beautiful restaurant for an anniversary meal with delicious food and attentive staff. We had all 3 course with a bottle Malbec. The lamb was beautifully tender and cooked as was the steak.

My parents and I visited the river house for lunch recently and all ended up having a toasted ciabatta. It was hot and a lovely portion size. It comes with a handful of crisps and a dollop of coleslaw but it fills you up perfectly for a light bite at lunchtime. The place is clean and when the sun is shining, it just hits the spot. You can have food and drinks outside overlooking the marina and the river tawe or visit the restaurant for fine dining.

Walked in on a Saturday afternoon for a few drinks, decided to have food in the bar. Drinks, service was brilliant food was a mixture of some main meals and the tapas - all of which were amazing. Chose here to celebrate Mother’s Day. A day where mothers don’t have to cook and expect a nice day out. I’ve attended this venue multiple times and always had a nice meal and service. sadly today was a massive disappointment. It was a shame, we waited for our table for over an hour, as it wasn’t ready, no apology or drinks offered while we wait. The rugby was on in bar area which was so loud my family and children (3. One only 3 years of age) were forced to sit outside in the cold to wait. We finally got our table, where we were could order drinks and due to the kids being so hungry we ordered some nibbles to arrive ASAP. We finally ordered our food after half an hour, where we were told no chips could be served due do the fryers not working. No apologies, or suitable alternatives were offered. My niece decided to have a children’s portion of a cooked chicken dinner as the chicken nuggets and chips were not being served. This was agreed by the waiter. At this point we still had not received the nibbles. The waiter then returned to explain no child portions of the chicken dinner could be offered. We asked for some extra carrots, potatoes, gravy and Yorkshire pudding and would share the meat. “Due to the BIG portions”. Which was stated by the staff. An another hour passes, we finally finished our nibbles and starters. The mains arrived 40 minutes later. The cooked dinners were all freezing cold. And the beef was too tough to cut never mind swallow. Two of our party sent their meals back to heat. They returned to us just as cold and with the cauliflower cheese removed and no new veg or gravy offered to the table as a replacement. My poor niece’s food only arrived after three follow ups with the staff. Only carrots and Yorkshire arrived. No gravy or potatoes. The “BIG portion of chicken” was shared with her leaving my sister with only the bone as in fact it was TINY! We were in the restaurant for 4.5 hours, a bill of over £320. We complained and they removed the chicken nugget dish which in fact we never had due to the fryer not working. We provided the unhappy feedback to the manager and staff. The managers attitude was that he didn’t care. He argued back rather than providing any apology. The table behind also complained about their food, explaining the cauliflower cheese like water, the waiter just stirred the dish and said “have you tried stirring it”! Long story short, my family and I have been going here for years to celebrate birthdays, beauj day and other events and I can categorically confirm we will not return! The main issue not being the food or wait. We understand that they are busy, but the lack of empathy, apology and service from the manager. I shall certainly be cooking next year!

This restaurant was so picturesque at night, made even more so by the lights and the surrounding water. I would say this is a perfect date night spot. It was virtually empty when we went but the service was immaculate. Although the food was presented beautifully, the flavours and textures didn’t wow me, however I would come again if I ever decide to revisit the city.

Thursday 21st July - We asked for a table for four, got told to wait to be seated- no problem. After Waiting 15 minutes we were told the restaurant is not yet open, it opens at 5PM. Both British members of staff were behind the bar infront of us for 15 minutes as we waited- so if the resturant was not open, why ask us to wait? Whilst other dinners were seated already, it can only mean one thing- racism at its finest because we were clearly visitors in town? Should be ashamed of the two male staff members at the bar!

Myself and my partner only had drinks but the place was fabulous. Clean and modern yet still having a welcoming vibe. The staff were pleasant and my gin and tonic was to die for. Will definitely be returning.

The food was deliciously rich and bursting with flavour and and the portions were more than generous. The waiters were very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. I found the music in the bar to be a bit loud for my taste, and the floor was a little dirty in the restaurant, but overall it was wonderful. I’d definitely come here again!

Had a few anxieties having paid deposit before menu released. Needn't have worried Out standing 3 courses for the wife, baked goats cheese, sea bass & chowder, sticky toffee pudding - and myself, Red pepper soup, rib eye steak, brownie and honey ice cream. Slight delay in seating which enabled us to have a nice drink in the bar. Outstanding attentive service considering it was fully booked. Plenty of time to finish courses, and a nice gap in-between. Fabulous evening. Will return.

Having previously eaten here we came again for a birthday meal. The food was excellent and the service good. We had paid £60 deposit for 6 people, but 2 of our party were unable to attend. Only £40 was applied to the bill and we were told that the other £20 was non refundable and would not be taken off our meals. This wasn't mentioned when the booking was made and we were unhappy. The waiter refused to get a manager telling us that they would say the same. There was also a dispute over a side that was forgotten and arrived late. The waiter argued that he had not said it would be complimentary and despite agreeing to take it off the bill it soured the evening.

Hake and chips - beautiful light tasty batter and hake. Belly pork, dauphinoisse potatoes - pork was cooked lovely, however dry bland potato dauphinoisse, broccoli and parsnip, parsnip was undercooked not al-dente. Perfume like taste on the broccoli, really really disappointed and no feedback from chef.

My husband booked here for my birthday meal, high expectations as a number of friends had recommended this place for Sunday lunch. On arrival, we were told no booking had been made - and told we must have called the Scotland restaurant (even though we showed the lady 01792......). Anyway, was rectified by the manager who manages to sit all of us at a table. Food was lovely, really good. I went for the beef, as they'd run out of lamb. It was good, potatoes, Yorkshire, sauces all lovely. Started with calamari, to be honest had much better. Service was very slow, granted a busy day, but still really slow. Wait staff were amazing, couldn't do enough. Will definitely return, but not in a huge rush!

My wife and I arrived at the River House on the first Saturday in December. The restaurant was warm inviting and full of Xmas parties. The time was 17.00 but we only wanted lunch which finished at 16.00 I asked at the bar if we could still order lunch, I spoke to Sam the manager who was very accommodating and replied as long as the chef do not mind it be ok. The chef was happy so we had a excellent lunch from the afternoon menu. Jamie brought over our meal and even though extremely busy still took time out to have a chat. All in all first class customer service from all the staff. Well done to all concerned.

Great place for a Sunday Roast. Food and service were great. Catered well for a variety of dietary requirements. Very impressed.

Great food, really tasty and well presented. Friendly staff too, lovely restaurant.

Food was just superb. Couldn’t make the most of the view as it was dark and rainy but inside was lovely and cosy with really friendly staff. Steak was beautiful and the seafood linguine was just fantastic. Definitely recommend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Had an amazing meal on Christmas eve! The service was brilliant and they used our names, after we had sent our pre orders in. This made it feel much more personal :) The food was absolutely stunning too, the best paté and chutney combo I've ever eaten! This isn't my first time in the river house, and I will most definitely be returning again soon :)

Went for a pre Christmas lunch with family. The food was good (it's Xmas lunches, so it was pre-ordered limited menu options), staff were polite, helpful, no pressure. It's our third Xmas eve lunch here in about 5 years, and we've had a good time every time. The restaurant was busy but there were plenty of staff around. The staff are very professional and helpful. We will be back.

Our annual Christmas get together with close friends we usually go to the grill house steak restraunt but thought we'd try something new Arrival and drinks we were greated and told our table was late and would be at least 40 minutes before we are seated I belive this was due to the high volume of customers Once seated we were handed menus and we ordered Starters 2 parfait - 1 soup - 1 goats cheese salad Starters were lovely and well presented Mains 2 turkey - 1 salmon - 1 beef Food arrived hot and again well presented and plenty to go around and the gravy was top notch Desserts 2 choclate tart - 2 bread and butter pudding Desserts were great and throughly enjoyed by all Our waiter was very nice and always on hand for anything we needed during our visit Overall we had a really good time and enjoyed everything that we were given from the service to the food First time at the river house and we will deffinatly be back in the new year to try the regular menu Thank you and have a good Christmas and we'll deserved break

River House Swansea turned our work Christmas party into a nightmare. Despite arriving on time, we were left waiting for about 45 minutes because our supposedly reserved table wasn't ready. When we were finally seated, our group was split, making the entire experience awkward. One of our guests was publicly shamed for requesting a drink that apparently wasn't served, adding insult to injury. The time between courses was painfully slow, and the portion sizes were so small that we left the establishment hungry. While the waiting staff were decent, the overall experience was abysmal, and I have no intention of ever returning.

An absolute disgrace.....once a year we are lucky enough as a company to gather together and celebrate Christmas. This was blown apart by the experience we had at the River house. Almost an hour late with our table....to compensate a bottle of Prosecco was offered.....between 20 people. When we finally sat down we were split one side of the room to the other. 10 at one table 10 at the other....talk about splitting a party up. Food arrives after an hour...cold ..main course another 45 min wait.... shocking size...do your self a favour and bring a sandwich on your person. Dessert another 45 wait...a waste of time. Exorbitant prices for the experience...we all spent the rest of the night talking about how bad this was and was left with cold bad taste in our mouths...Avoid at all costs.

Hell of a feed in the River house last night. Can't move this morning , and all this for 30 bucks

Very disappointing. It was chaos there, seemed like they had over booked and couldn't cope. There was 18 of us and we were spread over two tables which wasn’t ideal. Food was nice but not much food on the plate, not worth £35. Our table wasn’t ready for us when we got there, we had to wait 45 minutes. Also, the bar man thinks he works in the Ritz and told one of us ‘Do you know where you are? We don’t serve that here.’ I will not be returning here any time soon.

Having booked our works Christmas party here, we paid our table in full in advance and when arriving in time for our 6pm booking, we were told that the restaurant was running around 20 minutes behind. I understand it is a busy time of year, but it was clear by the sheer volume of people crammed in that the place was over-booked. Anyway, we were given a bottle of prosecco by way of apology which didn't stretch for the party of 20 that we were. This meant many of us spent additional money at the bar in advance of sitting down for dinner and one of our colleagues were sneered at by bar staff when asking for a pint of Carling with a response of "Carling? Don't you know where you are?! We don't serve that here." 45 minutes later, we were finally invited in to the restaurant where we were met with a split table, which meant our works Christmas meal for 20, which was meant to be a time for all departments to inter-mingle and catch up outside of work, was immediately split up, dampening the party vibe. Although tasty, the wait for starters and then the subsequent wait for mains and desserts meant we we all starving. This wasn't helped when the main course came out with a smaller than expected portion, of which all elements except the gravy were cold. I'm sure I speak for us all when I say that we all left hungry and thinking that the meal we'd just been presented was far from worth the £35 we each paid. It's safe to say that I wouldn't return at Christmas (and unlikely at any other time).

Really lovely place to have a drink

Food wasn't quite up to its usual standard. Water was lukewarm for the table. 'Large' glass of wine was more like a medium glass. This used to be our favourite restaurant but isn't after the last visit

Lovely place to sit, eat whilst you watch the world go by. Friendly staff, dog friendly inside, can't wait to visit in the summer.

Just went there for pre birthday meal and drinks, have to say we were both very disappointed, looks lovely, but only 1 gluten free option which was steak, and unfortunately not even nice steak. Chips, wine and cider were good, but expensive just for those 3 things to be nice. Won't be returning. I still have no idea why people still go there with the attitude shown in their reply. Much better food and lovely staff in other areas, saying someone needs to go to specsavers and calling them pathetic is just shocking!

Lovely food, very tasty, nice place. We went for Sunday lunch. Very filling, lovely presentation. Waiting staff were all very nice. Would go back.
