Excellent cooking of the breakfast in an extremely clean looking shop. Staff clean and attentitive . A credit to the Sketty area and deserve to do very well. 100% not a greasy spoon.

This is a great place to stop for a very good cup of coffee or tea, service is very good, their pasties are very tasty. We'll worth just stopping for a drink or takeaway pasty.

We visit on a Sunday for our Take away Latte and Bacon Rolls after our Dog Walk. Excellent service food is very good and all the staff are very friendly we always have a great chat and Boris has a slice of bacon too Would highly recommend a visit ☕ 🥪

Lovely little cafe, had a small snack with tea, hubby had coffee, said it was the best he'd had. Menu looked great, and so did meals coming out for others. Staff were very friendly.

Great breakfast rolls always full don't skimp on the filling lovely personality to the staff, good Welsh honey atmosphere.

Had the homemade corned beef pie with mash mushy peas and gravy (with large Yorkshire pudding and faggots on the side) it was spectacular! My compliments to the chef... 👏🏻. Staff always very friendly and accommodating, always cracking jokes whenever i pop in, seems like a very fun atmosphere to be in well done ladies 😉. The coffee is first class too, cappacino was out of this world! The young lady with the red hair seems a character too, always laughing and smiling which is always a feel good experience, all in all very professional and helpful in their own way, definitely be making a return 5 ⭐ performance

We bought some Welsh cakes as we have been advised this was the place to get them from, but they burnt and dry. Rather disappointing.

The chilli and rice I had was superb. I had never tasted a nicer chilli. My son had the cornbeef pie with new potatoes and really enjoyed. We will definitely visit again

A lovely family friendly cafe, great quality food, excellent value with friendly staff and fast service! Between us we had a full cooked breakfast, toastie, pastie and cakes……everything was delicious!

Best cafe in Swansea had a full English breakfast was unreal no grease at all can’t wait go to back there The kitchen wear is really nice new and stylish Views from the 1st floor are price less had my 4 year son watching the boats and jet skii in the sea he loved it Service was spot on so friendly and happy couldn’t do enough for us

Really good experience here, food cooked exactly as I requested and staff where amazing. Really good attitude toward us (as we are travelling builders from liverpool) places we go we weather get good or bad but here in mumbles everybody seems pleasant. All 5 staff we spoke to are a credit to the business. Thank you

We were in mumbles for the day and grabbed a coffee, donut, custard slice and brownie from here. All a bit dissapointing and the coffee was dreadful.

The best place to get Welsh cakes!. I don't live in Wales anymore, but whenever I come back to see family this is where I go to get welshcakes for them. This is because the original ones are lovely and I like them but they also do jam splits that my partner loves as she doenst like currants and they also do choc chip ones that everyone loves

Stopped in for lunch on Tuesday. Great value and service. The family enjoyed the jam splits so much, i returned to buy more the following day.

freshly made food, me and my husband often call in for the beautiful fresh Welsh cakes but on this occasion fancied some brunch, the fresh filled baguettes are a fab choice, plenty of filling and a lovely fresh side salad, husband opting for the curry which was accompanied with rice and a nan bread, very reasonably priced , we really enjoyed and will definitely be back.

What’s has happened to Davies? Bought a large English breakfast a week ago for £8.90 , it came on a small plate , hardly any mushrooms, sausage’s were overcooked, much smaller than usual.Then a few days later bought 4 medium corned beef pasties , hardly any filling inside, just pastry.Seems have gone down hill at an alarming rate!

We had 2 breakfasts, jacket potato with chilli and the lasagne. Food was good and plentiful. Staff were very friendly. Took some sausage rolls home from the bakery on the ground floor. Cost us £40 - so not the cheapest for the quality of food, hence 4 stars

I went to Davies to grab a lunch sandwich. Unfortunately the wait time was unnecessarily long, with people who came after me being served before me. I was literally stood beneath the board that said 'takeaway and coffee orders here', yet staff were busy taking orders randomly at the cake counters while a few of us waited patiently. There were a number of staff around, far more than my local deli, but the system seemed disorganised. At the end of it, got a sandwich that was average at best and small portion compared to the 4.40 they charged me. I tend to favour local delis over chains but this one wasn't value for money at all.

When l.lived in Mumbles it was my local bakery. And favourite go-to for a traditional lunch or afternoon treat. When married and had to move from the area but came back to visit family Always took plenty of everything to make sure l still had a taste of their bread and pies and cakes for a while afterwards- thank goodness for freezers! Now visiting again after time abroad and Thank Goodness some things haven't changed. They are still there and same unpretentious look, with same family and staff and same High Quality food - bread, cakes, pies- sweet and savoury, meals, atmosphere and service. You can't beat quality, and integrity. Some places come and some places go, but Davies of Mumbless are still there, and still offering quality in every way. I may not be able to afford to live there anymore, but l can afford to go there to stock up on bread, cakes and pies from Davies of Mumbles to last me until my next visit, and enjoy a freshly cooked meal upstairs looking out to sea before or after my shopping! Bliss!

Not the sort of place we stop to eat in, but great for picking up "supplies" to take away. Their Welsh cakes are by far, the best you can find! Lovely fresh cakes, bread, snacks, and good staff.

I love this place for their fresh food and an excellent choice of dinners and filled baguettes and friendly staff.

Went into the shop today we ordered breakfast while we were downstairs I saw they had bread pudding which I have been fancying (due to having chemotherapy) Im fancying random things I said I would have them on way out when the lady brought us or breakfast she told me there was only 2 left and could she put them away until we came downstairs what a lovely gesture the staff are so lovely and friendly and the food was excellent bread pudding is lovely too thank you 1st class service

Fried breakfast was a little disappointing.

We visited this place after being recommended. I can quite honestly say that the Welsh cakes were incredible! Nice and thick, slight crisp to the top and bottom and soft and fluffy inside. We also had the Corned Beef pasty which was incredible!!! The staff are friendly and given the large queue (as a result of being so good) we were served quickly. Would visit again and again!! What a gem!

We came to Mumbles for a day, and ended up spending the better part of a week. We found this coffee shop and absolutely loved everything they offered for breakfast. The staff was delightful. The pastries were outstanding. The tea was spot on. The atmosphere had a lovely local flavor, whilst still being friendly toward tourists and the likes. We literally came back every morning we were here. And we will definitely return. Do yourselves a favor and get the Welsh cakes. Both flavors. You won’t be disappointed.

Nice friendly place for light refreshments just a few yards off Mumbles seafront. Very clean and a lovely view.

This cafe / bakery serves simple, unpretentious tasty food at a very good price. We had been on holiday for the week on the Gower, eating in several of the well known pubs in the area. This was the cheapest and tastiest meal we had.

We come to swansea every year. And always visit here. It’s a must. The food is fabulous. But the service is fantastic the lady who serves us short red hair is an absolute diamond.

We went as a family to have a quick lunch Ordered , 3 jacket potatoes, curry and rice and lasagna The jacket potatoes came slightly warm with toppings all cold Lasagne wasnt the best but all i was eating is pasta and cheese and again slightly warm Curry and rice was good and hot Ordered milkshakes and they tasted as somesort of chemical mix Paid £52 wpuld rather go somewhere else and pay a higher price Never coming again :(

Every visit to Swansea has to have a visit to Davies. Whether its down the mumbles or at the market. Excellent choice of pasties, cakes and filled rolls

This bakery is amazing such friendly staff I'd been sent to Mumbles for work and I always make sure I visit this bakery there lamb pasty is to die for and proper Welsh cakes cannot be beaten I would highly recommend this bakery to anyone

Average. Expected more from an independent. Nothing on menu for allergens. Staff friendly enough but we’re clearly Saturday staff. £2.40 for an Americano, which was acceptable, although it was a small cup. Very strong so requested some hot water but the staff member seemed confused...

Best bakery in Mumbles. My favourite are chicken pasties, but I also love the cornish pasties too, and baguettes, everything is freshly made on the premises. Good prices, friendly staff, you can have hot meals to dine in as well as all the take out food. Lovely cakes too. I love this place!

We ate breakfast here and it was okay but cheap ingredients. Cheap sausage and cheap baked beans. With all the great local products available I was expecting more quality.

Davies of Mumbles is a traditional seaside bakery located in the famous Mumbles bay. The staff here are extremely sweet, welcoming and friendly. The architecture of the bakery is absolutely stunning externally and the bakery is split into two floors. You must try their Welsh cakes with jam, otherwise known as Jam Splits. Glad to have visited.

Great place. Staff very friendly and really nice food on offer. Basics done very well. Get yourself a baguette and eat it overlooking the water. Lovely.

Just done our 3rd trip to the Gower in the past 18 months and all 3 have started with a cooked breakfast at Davies! We have also sampled the slabs of Fruitcake, the welsh cakes and the victoria bun...all great.

Enjoy the Welsh cakes from Davies in Mumbles but was quite staggered to find them now costing £2.50 for 6 when a month ago they were £1.80.

I think Covid has really affected this bakery - once a real gem, it has now gone downhill in the quality of food. Decided to have a picnic for lunch and purchased 2 large pasties - absolutely DISGUSTING - Under-cooked pastry and tasteless filling they...

Been going there fot few years, their pie's are out of this world, beef & onion taste delicious, they full pie, take lid off, & full to top, but when you bite in to them absolutely delicious 😋, they pizza to take away are out...

Great selection of lunchtime treats. We had pasties and custard slices which were all delicious. A great option if you are looking for a takeaway lunch in Mumbles.

Pepper steak slices are great, all day breakfast baguettes are very tasty, filling and god value for money. Cornish pasties decent as well

Have had two experiences at Davies, when new to the area. First was a bit frustrating, the card machine was not working(this happens, fine) but during a pandemic when surely you don't want people unnecessarily in the limited space indoors, it would be helpful to advise customers of this while they are standing in the queue. One staff member seemed not to know, two of her colleagues did and said it had been the case for days. The second was much more positive. I came prepared with cash and ordered two lovely and clearly homemade savoury pastries. Was able to sit upstairs and the lady who bought my order up and cleared the plates was a sweetheart. Heartily recommend the bakery on that basis, just would advise that communication is a little bit better. Although I appreciate that could have been a one off experience.
