Fantastic location, friendly service and great food - would definitely recommend. Unfortunately, Storm Burt meant scenic walks were a bit restricted but would be perfect centre for walking and cycling in better weather. Food at the nearby pub was excellent with log fires to help forget the outside.

Great choice for a Sunday dinner. We arrived early evening and the choice of roasts was down to pork and chicken with the lamb and beef sold out. The roast pork was excellent, with a good choice of vegetables, a Yorkshire and plenty of gravy. The gluten free pork pork loins, with sweet potato fries and salad was very tasty too. Nothing was left and sadly we were so full we couldn't tackle the excellent choice of desserts. A good pint of "The Usual" and a glass of Merlot accompanied our meal and the after-dinner coffee was good too. We expect to eat here again during our stay. Thanks to the staff of the Kings Head

I really enjoyed my evening here. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and bar staff went out of their way to accommodate us. It was a really delightful evening. Downside was the dessert, apple pie was overheated in probably a microwave and so was a soft mush and bland. And also not the Inn's fault but as we were camping in Hillend there was one streetlight on the whole walk, closer to the residential area and a dark walk back without pavements. Overall would love to go back 😊

This pub is located in such a lovely spot, right next to a church overlooking a gorgeous mountainside view. You can watch wild horses and sheep walk by and local residents are always friendly. The inside and outside of this pub is looked after well, with ample seating and it's very dog friendly. It was just up the road from our location in Llangennith and a great place to rest after a day at the beach. Gave four stars as the steak we had was way over cooked than we asked it to be (for £25+) and the curry dish we had was okay.. overall a great summer pub though 👍🏼

This is now our 4th time holidaying here. That says it all. The staff are great, delicious food (curry night, tuesdays), great service and sat outside on a sunny day. What a treat. Breakfast was great and was able to order a mix of, besides having a pre-set menu. The children loved it and with the beach just a mile away, they had a super super time. The rooms were clean, tidy and had tea and coffee facilities. The staff, again were very friendly, helpful and nothin was too much. We wil go back and recommend it to everyone.

What a great pub. A pointy of their 'The Usual' is an ale the memory of which I will long cherish. And the food is as good as a pub meal gets. My ribeye steak even arrived rare, exactly how I wanted it, and those who like their steaks this way will know how unusual this is. The scampi are not the usual generic things but are delicate chunks, perfectly cooked and wrapped in a delicious batter. I could go on but you'd be better saving your time and going there to discover for yourself. Bon appetit 🤤

Went for dinner last night here, having stayed in the hotel a few years ago. The hotel stay was excellent back then, but the dinner last night was poor sadly. We waited 90 minutes for food which was below expectations. Two of the group had curries which literally just came with rice and a small dish of curry (poppadoms were £2.45 for two.....)!, the fish and chips were OK, and the burgers were below average. The "buttermilk vegan burger" for £18 was literally two pieces deep freeze Quorn chucked in the deep fryer, not that many chips and not much else between the buns. If we hadn't waited so long, perhaps it would have been ok but to wait around and then get something which was not worth the money felt disappointing. Since staying at the hotel, the pub restaurant area has been extended inside and out, and it just felt like the kitchen perhaps was not able to handle the extra covers that were being packed in. We saw a slot of people come in, get seated then leave or move because the tables were too close together. Appreciate that there is a small window to make revenue in the Welsh summertime, but if you want return customers, then the standards have to be higher at these prices. If you're going, get there early and choose the fish and chips!

We ate here two evenings in a very sunny week - they only take bookings to eat inside, which is OK decor- and ambience-wise but not great, but in August we were able to get seats both times outside on the front terrace wiht overlooks the pretty village, chruch and rolling countryside. Good range of real ales. Most of food good - the best and worse were both specials (which do vary by the day). The best wes a really good sea bass dish, and the worst a tasteless and boring venison curry where the meat was perhaps some kind of mince.

Went with 2 others who also had the £18 kings head burger which was nothing more than a cheap frozen burger, not what you expect for an expensive pub meal. When I visit family in the Gower we always try to have a meal at The Kings Head. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful sunny evening when we visited so we sat out on the front terrace with a lovely view over the village and Church. The food was excellent, well cooked , presented and served without a long wait. Especially good as the pub was very busy. Well done to the kitchen staff, they must have been very hot. I particularly liked the menus being colour coded, white for general food, green for vegetarian and yellow for Gluten free. What a great idea, saves customers ages going through everything to sort it out and perhaps having to ask. The staff were great too, friendly and efficient. The pub has a good inside restaurant area and another courtyard at the back with seating amidst beautiful flowers and shrubs. There is also a large car park. A super place to visit and you can stay too as they have rooms.

An absolutely cracking village pub. The atmosphere is fun and lively and the staff are just brilliant - so welcoming, making a big fuss of the pooch and even giving her sausages for breakfast. Despite its buzzing vibe, we never had to queue at the bar and were served promptly. The food is tasty with generous portions - really enjoyed the curries and fish & chips. Breakfast was especially good. Loads of different seating options - the large garden at the front is particularly charming with views of the coastal landscape and church. Great beers - lots of options. Overall fantastic warm Welsh hospitality and wonderful to find a pub that it at the heart of the community and also super welcoming to holiday makers.

We have just returned from a wonderful long weekend stay at the King's Head Inn. I have to say I'm a little surprised at the last two reviews that were a little less than glowing as this was not our experience at all. We stayed with our little dog and were made to feel really welcome. All the staff were so friendly and couldn't have been more helpful or nicer. We ate in the restaurant on all 3 nights of our stay and the food was delicious. The accommodation was great, lovely and clean and a nice big room on the ground floor, perfect for our little dog. The beautiful sandy beaches are close by and perfect for a days walking. I will definately be recommending the King's Head Inn to our friends and family.

A couples night out with my faithful Stewie. My husband wanted to treat me to a nice pub and booked as its dog friendly! Unfortunately on arrival we were lead to a room full of England football supporters having a great time and why not. The waitress asked us to wait and then steamed us to a neighbouring bar again full and left us, no menus or advise. I went to the lovely restaurant side, quiet with lots of diners enjoying. I approached to complain as they shouldn’t have taken our booking if we were obviously not catered for that night. The lady returned after taking advice and told me they would make an EXCEPTION. I think this pub is very successful but not in fact dog friendly or maybe just need to think about how they treat their customers. I sat to order food, an empty table to my left and right, the dog nestled under the table, would it have hurt to place us as other diners or treat us as others? The next waitress came over to tell me we could not sit at this table with a dog. Again where is the service? We did order, we did eat, but it somewhat tarnished the nice evening we were expecting. The mains are approximately £25 the starters and sweet approx £8, with drinks £50 per head approx. So as an experienced establishment, somewhat disappointing.

Ah, where do we start? We last ate here just over two years ago, walked down from Kennextone campsite in the rain and enjoyed a really good meal. Fast forward to tonight. It smacks of a business in overreach - I'm aware hospitality is struggling for staff at the moment, but 1-2 staff at the bar for the covers is absurd, particularly given you can't run a tab. Staffing over, the food. Notwithstanding the 45 mins wait (see: staff, I guess), we received a very obviously frozen battered cod fillet (mushy flesh is a giveaway), and mushy peas that either weren't heated or sat in the pass too long. My chicken breast was overcooked to within an inch - I have no idea how you can make a chicken breast that tough - then a sweet pepper sauce covered with cheese, whacked under the salamander. Average. I can only guess this establishment is catering to the majority; if that's you, you'll love it. If you want decent pub grub, bear in mind the average is made up of highs and lows. This brings the average down.

Stayed 5 nights in wonderful Dog-Friendly room. Excellent Welsh breakfast with cockles and laverbread. Also enjoyed the Penclawdd pizza (also cockles and laverbread)! Very good evening menu - very friendly staff, particularly good service from Rhi and Niamh

We had the most delicious gammon- the best for a very long time. The meat was succulent, the chips crispy and the salad dressing piquant.

Disappointing food unfortunately. This place was recommended to me. The chicken wings were rubbery. The curry was watery and seriously lacking in flavour. Service and location are really good. I was told home cooked food but the naan came out of a packet.

Awful I am terribly disgusted and appalled by the way Ben Winchester was treated this is unavoidable and action should be taken. He was abused while working there and was wrongfully 😠 fired serious action should be taken immediately
