Absolutely love this place, excellent staff and service throughout. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts are plentiful and very tasty, with choice ofhot beverages, juices, cereal and fruit 🥰 Location... the short stroll to the fantastic beach, large beach cafe, which wasn't extortionately priced, the village surf shop which again was reasonably priced. My third stay in Llangennith and certainly won't be my last 👌

We popped in here for dinner one night as it was very close to where we were staying and overall it was good. I had Ffagadau which was great, along with a mix of curries and kids meals, but generally it wasn't anything special. I would definitely consider coming again if staying nearby because the menu is vast and there are lots of options - they have a large vegetarian menu and a good selection for kids.

We visited on a very busy bank holiday Sunday. A band was playing and the place was packed. Lunch was very good, cod and chips and roast lamb couldn’t be faulted. Extra gravy was most welcome . However, a few niggles. We were told the food would take 45 minuted, it arrived 90 minutes later. The bar was always packed but locals ignored those waiting and headed to the front of the queue where they were promptly served. There was a good atmosphere outside and the staff as always were friendly.

We had a evening meal with starters! We think that they may of had some problems with the staff the evening we went. They weren't very busy but the starters took 35 min to arrive! We thought just for a salad and laver bread was quite a wait. Another 20 min for the mains! We were told the gravy was on its way! Aventuly it arrived but we had almost finished! All said and done the staff were lovely and the food was good pub grub. I would highly recommend the laver bread, I always like to try new things and I would have again. I think we just caught them on a bad night. We would definitely recommend and we will return.

The King's Head has many memories for me, This visit was the first for the best part of 15 years, and i did have a bit of trouble remembering how it used to be on my last visit there. It has been altered, and I must say it is really nice. The reason I have given a 3 star is due to the food. I ordered a Penclawdd pizza, as I do like sea food. It had lavabread and cockles on it. On arrival, I was a little taken back, as it had a fried egg in the middle, which did start to put me off. The base was also way too thick, Anyway, as I cut into it for my first bite, all I could taste was the very thick cheddar cheese and a very poor pizza sauce, which was very disappointing. As i paid over £19 for it, i tried to continue eating it. However, when I got to the egg, I cut into it, and the yoke flowed out over the thick cheese lavabread and cockles. I put some on my fork and put it in my mouth. How i didn't throw up, I have no idea, but I couldn't eat anymore. This has to be the first time in my life that I've left over half a pizza on my plate. My other half, who had something different, hss never left anything on her plate, but she also had trouble eating hers. I can't remember what it was, and to be honest, it did look nice, but she said it was far too salty. We didn't complain, as we were on our last day of our holiday and didn't feel like a discussion on how bad our food was. All I can say is if the owner/manager reads this. Please don't offer pizza if the chef has no idea how to make one.

We stopped for dinner on a weekday. We had high expectations from this place as it was recently written about online. The starters were tasty although overpriced. The lamb chops for £27 were over cooked, veg from a frozen packet and gravy was Bisto. Chicken tikka was edible, nothing to shout about. Overall the place was beautiful, staff lovely but a let down on the pricey average food.

I read the reviews and was expecting something quite special. It was a Saturday night, and sunny, so admittedly very busy. We were told it was 45 mins wait for food, it was a few mins off an hour when we got our food. When it arrived, it was ok but definitely not worthy of the extortionate prices that were being charged. See for yourself. We both felt a little disappointed, and much preferred our camp food we had prepared the night before. I appreciate that the sun had meant Everyman and his dog were out and about, but as the only spot nearby, I would imagine they should be used to this. Anyways, not terrible, but felt insanely overpriced.

Where do we start…. Fully understand that the day of our booking was St David’s Day, but there’s no excuse To start…there are no table tab options, so it’s pay as you go. All fine and dandy when just ordering, but if you require more drinks whilst waiting for your food choices, then, walking away from your table to join the rest of the visitors, you may just miss your meals being consumed whilst piping out Now not exactly sure what happened, but waited 60 minutes before our food arrived, so much so that they missed off our starters all together. Our mains were taken back to the kitchen for our starters to arrive some 5 minutes later. It felt that these dishes were just sitting around for some time and lost their fresh hot texture. Finished these for to be then presented with, what we believe to be, our mains that made a guest appearance first. Chips were not as expected for multi-cooked, egg on the pizza was well overdone, lamb chops were dry and tough to break down to edible pieces, could’ve easily regrown the chips if put back into into the ground, needed a steak knife but no staff member came by to ask how everything is. Food: overpriced for our experience during our visit, items were ordered, priced incorrectly on the till system and then made to feel like it was our mistake! Even then, the lamb and mint burger was out Both left wondering if this was the place that was really given such good previous reviews

Great choice for a Sunday dinner. We arrived early evening and the choice of roasts was down to pork and chicken with the lamb and beef sold out. The roast pork was excellent, with a good choice of vegetables, a Yorkshire and plenty of gravy. The gluten free pork pork loins, with sweet potato fries and salad was very tasty too. Nothing was left and sadly we were so full we couldn't tackle the excellent choice of desserts. A good pint of "The Usual" and a glass of Merlot accompanied our meal and the after-dinner coffee was good too. We expect to eat here again during our stay. Thanks to the staff of the Kings Head

Downside was the dessert, apple pie was overheated in probably a microwave and so was a soft mush and bland. And also not the Inn's fault but as we were camping in Hillend there was one streetlight on the whole walk, closer to the residential area and a dark walk back without pavements. Went for dinner last night here, having stayed in the hotel a few years ago. The hotel stay was excellent back then, but the dinner last night was poor sadly. We waited 90 minutes for food which was below expectations. Two of the group had curries which literally just came with rice and a small dish of curry (poppadoms were £2.45 for two.....)!, the fish and chips were OK, and the burgers were below average. The "buttermilk vegan burger" for £18 was literally two pieces deep freeze Quorn chucked in the deep fryer, not that many chips and not much else between the buns. If we hadn't waited so long, perhaps it would have been ok but to wait around and then get something which was not worth the money felt disappointing. Since staying at the hotel, the pub restaurant area has been extended inside and out, and it just felt like the kitchen perhaps was not able to handle the extra covers that were being packed in. We saw a slot of people come in, get seated then leave or move because the tables were too close together. Appreciate that there is a small window to make revenue in the Welsh summertime, but if you want return customers, then the standards have to be higher at these prices. If you're going, get there early and choose the fish and chips!

What a great pub. A pointy of their 'The Usual' is an ale the memory of which I will long cherish. And the food is as good as a pub meal gets. My ribeye steak even arrived rare, exactly how I wanted it, and those who like their steaks this way will know how unusual this is. The scampi are not the usual generic things but are delicate chunks, perfectly cooked and wrapped in a delicious batter. I could go on but you'd be better saving your time and going there to discover for yourself. Bon appetit 🤤

Good range of real ales. Most of food good - the best and worse were both specials (which do vary by the day). The best wes a really good sea bass dish, and the worst a tasteless and boring venison curry where the meat was perhaps some kind of mince.

We were lucky enough to have a beautiful sunny evening when we visited so we sat out on the front terrace with a lovely view over the village and Church. The food was excellent, well cooked , presented and served without a long wait. Especially good as the pub was very busy. Well done to the kitchen staff, they must have been very hot. I particularly liked the menus being colour coded, white for general food, green for vegetarian and yellow for Gluten free. What a great idea, saves customers ages going through everything to sort it out and perhaps having to ask. The staff were great too, friendly and efficient. The pub has a good inside restaurant area and another courtyard at the back with seating amidst beautiful flowers and shrubs. There is also a large car park. Fish & Chips with peas - the batter on the fish was soggy, chips were very ordinary. My wife's Steak & Mushroom pie was tasteless & the meat chewy. If we had an option to eat elsewhere we would have sent the food back & left.

Did not stay at the Inn but went for tea on a Thursday when it was relatively quiet. Did have to wait 45mins for food but all the bar staff were lovely, food was relatively tasty and they did have a nice selection of drinks available.

An absolutely cracking village pub. The atmosphere is fun and lively and the staff are just brilliant - so welcoming, making a big fuss of the pooch and even giving her sausages for breakfast. Despite its buzzing vibe, we never had to queue at the bar and were served promptly. The food is tasty with generous portions - really enjoyed the curries and fish & chips. Breakfast was especially good. Loads of different seating options - the large garden at the front is particularly charming with views of the coastal landscape and church. Great beers - lots of options. Overall fantastic warm Welsh hospitality and wonderful to find a pub that it at the heart of the community and also super welcoming to holiday makers.

We have just returned from a wonderful long weekend stay at the King's Head Inn. I have to say I'm a little surprised at the last two reviews that were a little less than glowing as this was not our experience at all. We stayed with our little dog and were made to feel really welcome. All the staff were so friendly and couldn't have been more helpful or nicer. We ate in the restaurant on all 3 nights of our stay and the food was delicious. The accommodation was great, lovely and clean and a nice big room on the ground floor, perfect for our little dog. The beautiful sandy beaches are close by and perfect for a days walking. I will definately be recommending the King's Head Inn to our friends and family.

A couples night out with my faithful Stewie. My husband wanted to treat me to a nice pub and booked as its dog friendly! Unfortunately on arrival we were lead to a room full of England football supporters having a great time and why not. The waitress asked us to wait and then steamed us to a neighbouring bar again full and left us, no menus or advise. I went to the lovely restaurant side, quiet with lots of diners enjoying. I approached to complain as they shouldn’t have taken our booking if we were obviously not catered for that night. The lady returned after taking advice and told me they would make an EXCEPTION. I think this pub is very successful but not in fact dog friendly or maybe just need to think about how they treat their customers. I sat to order food, an empty table to my left and right, the dog nestled under the table, would it have hurt to place us as other diners or treat us as others? The next waitress came over to tell me we could not sit at this table with a dog. Again where is the service? We did order, we did eat, but it somewhat tarnished the nice evening we were expecting. The mains are approximately £25 the starters and sweet approx £8, with drinks £50 per head approx. So as an experienced establishment, somewhat disappointing.

Ah, where do we start? We last ate here just over two years ago, walked down from Kennextone campsite in the rain and enjoyed a really good meal. Fast forward to tonight. It smacks of a business in overreach - I'm aware hospitality is struggling for staff at the moment, but 1-2 staff at the bar for the covers is absurd, particularly given you can't run a tab. Staffing over, the food. Notwithstanding the 45 mins wait (see: staff, I guess), we received a very obviously frozen battered cod fillet (mushy flesh is a giveaway), and mushy peas that either weren't heated or sat in the pass too long. My chicken breast was overcooked to within an inch - I have no idea how you can make a chicken breast that tough - then a sweet pepper sauce covered with cheese, whacked under the salamander. Average. I can only guess this establishment is catering to the majority; if that's you, you'll love it. If you want decent pub grub, bear in mind the average is made up of highs and lows. This brings the average down.

Quick lunch with friends and doggies today. Lovely place, plenty of parking and great service/ food. Pizza was delicious and the proper home cut chips topped it off just right.

A lovely pub, in a beautiful location. The gardens were pretty and well kept. But it felt like it was set up to part tourists from their money, and feck all customer service.

Way too expensive - cheapest meal £17 (chilli) and no kids menu - strikes of profiteering from 'inflation'. Why not have a lunch menu with a few sub £10 items - when you are trying to feed a family of five, spending way over £100 for a lunch at a pub is just too expensive, in the end we had a drink and a packet of crisps and went somewhere else.

We were here for a three course meal with a tribute band. The food was outstanding, the flavours were to be savoured. I went for crispy chicken wings, and chicken wrapped in Parma ham for a main. My dessert was peach cobbler with ice cream, sadly I only ate the ice cream as I had absolutely no room for another bite of food. It was warm and cosy by the fire. Service was prompt and the staff friendly.

The King's Head is in great shape these days. Have known the place for years but the quality of everything this visit was better than ever - really spot on. They've extended the bar/restaurant area since we were last in and it's been done very tastefully to a high standard. Well done Lara and team - lovely welcome.

This is THE best Sunday dinner I have experienced for a little while, so good that I've already planned to go back. Speaking to the staff all food is made on site and they start preparing from around 6am, everything we had was so tasty and full of flavours (I even ate the swede which I don't normally like). There was a slight delay on our dessert, but the customer service was brilliant and it was handled amazingly. Location is in an area of beauty being in the Gower, you can see the sea and there are some stunning walking trails around, very handy to quench your thirst

Being local this is a fabulous jewel in the village. We will meet up to celebrate friends birthday and they just look after you so well. I just wanted to give big thank you to everyone at the Kings head for looking after us so well making the birthday celebrations even more special. Will and Jamie behind the bar were amazing all night so attentive. And never moaning once when we kept nagging for music Prosecco and we had dog treats for the 4 legged pups celebrating with us. I know the food here is amazing curry night and Sunday lunch is legendary and worth every bit of praise in here. Thank you
