Bistrot Pierre in Swansea

Visited Pierre Bistro for the first time last night with Family to celebrate my Wife and myself's birthdays. We were a party of 5 adults and 2 small Grandchildren, and from the moment we arrived felt so welcomed as we were booked in and showed to our pre booked table. Richard our waiter was outstanding to say the the least ! and an asset to the Bistro without doubt due to his people person nature, and showing us exemplary hospitality. Food was also outstanding, tasty and delicious, so a big shout out to the kitchen staff and Chef's as well who made this such a memorable occasion for us as a Family. The location is fantastic, the ambience within the Bistro was awesome......everything was just perfect ! We will defo make the Bistro Pierre one of our go to eateries, and would defo recommend to eat there. Can't wait to come back. Keep up the great work. Thank you.

We love bistrot Pierre in mumbles. The staff are always fantastic, consistently great food and drinks, and always a great atmosphere. Child / date night friendly too!

Had lunch with my girlfriends on Friday. Fabulous setting with views to die for! Service was great. But did have to wait a while for drinks and food orders to be taken and served. Must of the food was hot, delicious and looked lovely (but skinny frozen fries a no no. Just cook fresh chips! !!). However my Minute Steak was pure grissle. I could not cut it. The young lady offered to replace it, but as my friends had nearly finished theirs, I opted for the cost being deducted from the bill. She also gave me a free dessert. Will return again as overall we had a lovely afternoon.

Service was very slow and the staff were rude

Myself and a friend dined here last night it was nothing short of exceptional. We were hosted by Richard, who was incredibly welcoming, friendly and attentive, going above and beyond for my friends birthday - he is truly a credit to your team!! The food was delicious, well presented and outstanding for the price. We had the calamari and Normandy camembert to start, and then steak frites and poulet rôti - all was well prepared and would recommend to anybody. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely, we will definitely be coming back.

Lovely food, good atmosphere but the service was extremely slow. Took over 2 hours for 2 courses. Lots of other people waiting too.

You can receive satisfactory taste and service for the price you pay. (There is a service charge) The view of the sea and the lighting are so pretty. The fact that it is on the second floor is a godsend that sets it apart from the surrounding stores.

Great service from start to finish; Elliot on the bar was fantastic & Jess in the restaurant was wonderful. Great steak deal on the Thursday, accompanied by a wonderful bottle of red. Will return soon!

Valentines Day, staff were attentive, food was amazing, and the cocktails were addictive!

Went here yesterday as a family for my wife's birthday. Food, service and the views were all amazing. Our second time here and both visits have been memorable. All starters and mains were exceptional. Would definitely recommend the pork medallions which come with Dauphinoise potatoes. This is a wonderful restaurant in an amazing location with reasonable prices. Looking forward to our next visit. Thanks, Sian, Rylan and family.

It's ok for a coffee, but food quality is poor.

Really good food, service is excellent, and the ambience was great. The only 2 issues I had, weren't really deep issues, but the wait times between ordering and reckeving food were quote long, but they were also very full in the restaurant. I'd recommend looking at thier deal nights for my second minor issue- the food is quite pricey (but it is excellent) and you can easily spend more money than you might intend- and the waitress service was excellent so we didn't mind the compulsory service charge (it was about £10.50) as we would have tipped anyway, but it did feel like a little bit of a stealth addon as I hadn't seen anything about that in the pricing.

Visited today and had my usual chicken goujons. Now we haven’t been here for awhile but it seems the goujons now consist of 90% coating (?) and 10% chicken, which isn’t breast! They used to be chicken breast with a light coating…. Won’t be ordering again!

Nice ambience, good view over the sea. Half chicken £16 was good if lacking in veggies.

Lovely food, lovely restaurant but no servicec with a smile! Waiter (older man with beard) was very grumpy, had no knowledge of the offers available and was not welcoming at all and in fact was rude !

We just walked in Jack the waiter was really friendly, food and service was exceptional. My wife had the bavette and I had the chicken with toulouse sausage, both very very good. Thanks guys we will be back 👍

Party of 17 booked for 8.15 on 20th of December, pre order menu sent 4 days before arrival. Table not ready. Starters served 45 minutes after everyone was eventually seated and all were served at different times. Main course left a lot to be desired especially the turkey roast which tasted like processed meat served with all but burnt and dry roast potatoes, again all served at different times and definitely not worth the prices charged. Waitresses were clearly stressed and this was apparent in their manner and service delivery. At one point we had to repeat our menu orders because they had an incorrect number but we were made to feel that it was out fault. The table itself was laid with glasses, napkins and cutlery but nothing festive such as crackers. All in all a complete shambles. A very expensive but not impressive evening.

Great location. Food was surprisingly average. Very small portions. Quite expensive.

Had a lovely meal with old friends, for a late Christmas dinner, lovely surroundings, great atmosphere, food was excellent, great staff, nothing was a problem, treats for our dog, we had a lovely afternoon.

Food was lacking in volume and it was very expensive, we won't go there again to eat.

Just come home after a lovely meal for 2 for Christmas... both of us struggling with bad colds but made the decision to go for it. No complaints about food service or atmosphere. All excellent thank you

Slow service. Parts of the meals were cold. Food quality is worthy of an average French Brasserie. Rarebit = Cheeze on Tesco crumpet with splash of chutney. The main courses were served looking like they’d been ready and waiting for a while. Had to ask 3x for water. The wine was opened and just left on the table. Using the app at payment was very confusing. We said we’d pay half the service charge but they said all or nothing LMAO. Not recommended at all.

This bar/restaurant is in a beautiful location on the sea front in Mumbles. Arrived at 1030 for a late breakfast. Not much space as tables were mostly full. I ordered full breakfast which was very good and 2 eggs perfectly fried over easy. Moganna worked hard to serve everyone quickly and kept a lovely smile on her face. A credit to the establishment. One drawback which was dirty and did not get cleaned before the food was delivered. Good quality coffee

You wouldnt know this is a chain restaurant due to the extremely high quality of food and service received. The food tastes amazing and good sized portions, and the service from all staff encountered has been exemplary. If I am ever in the area I always make a point of going here! The potato dauphinoise are the best I have ever had

We had my 50 th birthday meal yesterday in the private function room, there was 24 of us and I would personally like to thank Richard for hosting the room everything was amazing nothing was too much trouble he served the alcohol and timed all the meals perfectly The food was delicious. ( please this on to the chefs) Thank you Richard you made a special occasion stress free.

Shame they close food service from 11-12. Updating my review as this place has had a real turn around. Quick and friendly service with some nice simple food at good prices. Good job on getting this place back on track. Nice place to sit and watch the world pass by with a great view of the bay.

I had a great time at Bistrot Pierre, the food and service were phenomenal. Their menu clearly shows the different allergens in each dish (eg, gluten free) which was really helpful as multiple members of my family are coeliacs. I will definitely be coming back in the future!

Had a fantastic meal here recently. Great value for money and wonderful service from Annette. We’d definitely recommend and hope to return again soon.

Very disappointed. Food portions were very small, desserts were very disappointing. Cramped table for four kept being knocked by the table behind. The waiter who served the food from the kitchen was extremely rude and abrupt. Had to ask two separate waiters for a desert menu and for the bill. When the bill arrived it was the wrong bill. Overall not a very enjoyable visit. Can't see me ever returning.

I visit Mumbles regularly to visit my mother in law. I have visited many restaurants in the Swansea area for dinner. This is by far the best I have been to when measuring price, quality and service. Superb value and a great experience.

Jolene was an excellent server, friendly, polite, willing to find marmalade for us which is not on the menu Sadly the food was not hot, the bacon was over done/ hanging around for too long as chewy and tough. One of our toasts was on the burnt side but my companion is too British to complain/mention it. Mediocre at best 😟

Food was okay, service was friendly, would eat there again but wouldn't rush back. It was ok.

Fantastic, flavourful meal. From mains to desserts, we were delighted with the presentation and flavour profiles. Chicken Normandy was to die for, with lovely dauphinoise potatoes on the side. Madeleine with sticky toffee sauce was simply brilliant. Panna cotta was also delicious! Overall, an excellent experience. Friendly, attentive staff too!

This place never misses!! The service was and always is fabulous, especially Richard he always makes me feel so welcome and looked after. Iestyn is also great for making accommodations when my friend and I visit. Of course the food is also Amazing, they pay extra attention to my allergens as well!

We had a very enjoyable meal, served to us by Jesse. She was exceptional and we were indeed fortunate to have her serving us. She genuinely appeared to be enjoying her job, which put us at ease. You rarely get this these days. Well done Jesse!

Being a regular visitor for several years, I have really noticed a deterioration in service of late. The standard of the food served remains high and I still enjoy my visits, but the lack of staff available to take orders has become a real issue. On my visit today, we were not able to place our food order for almost an hour after arriving. Whilst I appreciate that businesses need to cut costs, the cutting back on staff numbers to bare-bones level is really having a detrimental effect on the whole dining experience . It is virtually impossible to catch a staff member's eye to order additional drinks. Persistently healthy booking levels warrant persistently healthy staffing!

A very nice place to spend a few hours. The staff are very good. The food is good and overall the place has a great vibe. One niggle was my sons french fries were lame, no better than McD's once less than piping hot. My son told the waiter the score. The polite response was sorry, I will tell the chef. Not quite enough guys. EDIT I visited again today. I Still like it here. I made a choice of a weak main course a veg tagine. It was ok but totally forgetable. EDIT further visit on 12th June 2024. I had a fixed price menu. Reasonable choices for me but slightly underwhelmed by the butternut squash dish I had. It was cooked well and had nice accompaniments but the totally wasn't there. It may be me getting more fussy EDIT visited on 8th October. We had a drink and a meal in the bar downstairs. My halloumi burger was below par. Too much heavy sauce, a bit of halloumi which tasted like it was steamed or boiled. Edible but not worth the £15 it cost. Also the service was so poor. We had to try so hard to get the staff's attention. One seemed to have a knack of looking everywhere except towards us; bearing in mind there was only a handful of tables in use it was remarkable. I don't think I will be back anytime soon. Paying the service charge seemed a rip off this time. It's such a shame because I like the place generally but it's no good for me now.

Richard was amazing when I came for my birthday!!

Went for a drink and a meal here this evening with our two dogs,dog friendly the downstairs area which is very relaxed.Lovely food and Gower Gold an excellent pint.The waiter Evan Gilmore was so helpful and polite and nothing was of any trouble to him.Will definitely be visiting again in the future.

Table 1 was amazing despite being warned not. Managed to people watch some others on far more difficult areas. Ava was superb. Great knowledge and good fun. Even got to meet her sister with even more knowledge. Great night and great food xx

Thursday evening was a treat. Delicious food, a very good amount of mussels served in a creamy sauce that worked really well. My husband and son had beef and steak that was cooked to perfection. And then desserts, wow. Great service too.

Food was good. Usually enjoy the restaurant unfortunately the last experience I had was ruined by the service. We waited a while to be seated, queuing at the hostess stand. The hostess then tried to seat the couple waiting after us despite walking past us being there first multiple times. Our server seemed to be a bit rude we weren’t given water like every other table, I had to ask. I also noticed that our starters came after tables that were sat after us. Our server was generally just a bit rude and snappy when it came to ordering dessert he had snapped at us a fair bit too. I was there with my nan who has Alzheimer’s and it seemed the server didn’t get that at all. She tried to order a coffee liqueur for dessert and got snapped at being asked “but any actual desserts?” I used to work in service for about 4 years I haven’t ever given or received service like this before

We had breakfast. One meat and one vegetarian. Plate was full, the vegetarian option was excellent, though no vegetarian sausage or bacon which would have been nice.

We came here for our 3rd anniversary, following good reviews from friends. The service and waiting staff were lovely, and we had a complimentary bottle of Brut which was a very kind gesture. The only downside to the service was one of the waiters swore as he placed our food down - not something you expect from a civilised restaurant. Starters The calamari was spiced nicely but was slightly tough and greasy. Smoked salmon was tasty, but had no difference in texture - could have done with a side of crusty bread or crouton. Mains We ordered the steak frites, pink. Mine was pink and acceptably tender but my partners was over cooked and grey. We sent it back, only to be presented with a tough, charred and watery second steak. It was, to say the least, rather unpleasant. Dessert We decided to share the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. It was tasty enough, however lacked the depth of a pudding created with real dates. Overall a pleasant atmosphere but the food was not up to par of an authentic French bistro. We will not be returning.

Just returned home after a very pleasant evening at Bistrot Pierre Mumbles. Great welcome by manager Milli, and very attentive service by Jess.. they both made our night out. Food was good as well…

We visited on 19 September 2024 and were served by Richard, who was extremely courteous and helpful. We then took a three hour walk and returned for a further visit, when Richard had completed his shift.

Stopped here for breakfast. The coffee and service was good. The wait for breakfast was long but we were a larger table of 6 of us so maybe understandable. Two of the breakfast arrived cold and we're sent back.

I booked the private room upstairs for a small, surprise dinner for my son's engagement on Wednesday 12th September. From the initial telephone enquiry and booking I was extremely pleased with the way the staff dealt with my request. When I arrived earlier with balloons, a cake and banners, I was shown to the room by the lovely host. The room was laid out beautifully. There were shiny glass decanters placed along the centre of the table and a flower arrangement. The cutlery and glass were gleaming. He helped me to arrange everything and kept checking that I was happy with everything - which I was! When our party arrived, we were shown in and the staff maintained the surprise. We had a lovely lady to take our orders and serve us. The 3 course meal was all delicious and presented beautifully. The drinks were as requested and the price for the whole experience was great value. I would recommend Bistrot Pierre in Mumbles to anyone. The private room was ample for 10 of us, and I believe it can sit up to 24 guests. We will definitely be returning! A big thank you to all the staff.

Went for dinner mid-week with family, sat in the window with a great view and all ordered from the £22.95 3 course menu. The menu was good value with all courses being very tasty and decent size. As part of this menu you can also get a wine or beer for £4.50 but when I asked for cider instead (excellent Orchard Pig) I was told "computer says no" and had to pay full price which is a bit bizarre considering on the menu it's cheaper than the wine or beer and surely discriminatory towards cider drinkers? Anyway, service was also very good from the lovely staff (although note you are automatically charged 10% service charge - we much prefer to add this ourselves for good service).
