Wonderful atmosphere and excellent service for our celebratory afterwards tea!

We had an afternoon high tea, and it was very enjoyable, felt relaxed and pampered, staff were very friendly and polite, sandwiches and cakes were excellent, large range in teas, anything leftover will be boxed for you to take away, and to top it all, a piano playing in the lobby.

I'm writing this review based on a truly disappointing afternoon tea experience at The Ritz. The service was far below the expected standard for a 5-star establishment. The dress code expectations were misleading, with staff enforcing a strict jacket requirement despite assurances of flexibility due to the hot weather. The air conditioning was inadequate, and the staff’s response to customer discomfort was condescending and unhelpful. The overall atmosphere was chaotic, with poor organization at check-in and a rushed feeling throughout the experience. The quality of service was inconsistent, and the staff seemed more interested in efficiency than customer satisfaction. While the food was decent, it couldn't compensate for the terrible service. I strongly advise considering other options for afternoon tea in London. I expect a timely and appropriate response from the management addressing these serious concerns. Edit: Ritz asked for an email. That email was sent and answered by your stuff in the same condescending manner your stuff treated us during the afternoon tea.

We came for afternoon tea to celebrate my grandmothers birthday. Straight away the service was amazing the attention to detail was great too the service felt almost personal in a way. The pastry’s were lovely and knowingly brought us sandwiches according to our preference sheet !!! Lovely experience and be warned it gets very very busy 😊

Amazing night with my wife very plush and the staff go well out of there way to see you get the ultimate best of everything. Rooms are amazing and bed fit for for a king oh and my queen. The restaurant is amazingly beautiful and food out of this planet highly recommended for a very special occasion as we had had thank you all.

A Michelin star service hotel. We went there for the afternoon tea and it was a 90 minute theatrical experience. An extensive variety of tea, sandwich and cake options and you can also customise your menu to accommodate halal, vegan and kosher items. Highly recommended.

What a delightful high tea experience!

I booked The Ritz for my husband’s birthday weekend and it was absolutely fantastic. The service is top notch! Starting from check-in with Bibi she asked if we had plans to celebrate, then booked the Ravioli bar for us and then we also had Live at the Ritz dinner and live music booked. The food was fantastic the waiters took great care of us and recommended dishes- especially Michal and Lewis were very attentive and helpful. Everything was absolutely perfect! We had a blast and it will be very hard to top next year.

One of my worst experiences in hotels. The first staff at the gate dealt with the Gulf nationals very badly. We were followed until we entered the lobby and were prevented from sitting and drinking tea without any reason. The last thing is that it says it is forbidden to sit in the lobby in a coach, knowing that there are foreigners wearing coach boots, knowing that the reception and the coach service are open. They didn't say anything, but the door guard was the one who entered with us and prevented us from sitting. Unfortunately, I have not seen these behaviors in five-star hotels around the world.

host in restaurant, discrimination against person. he asks questions and then, despite the available seats, he covers his tracksuit with the code. so why does he need information about whether we are hospitable at the hotel or not. some are allowed to sit, others are not allowed to sit because they have the wrong shoes, even though we have the same ones. a very sad thing

They have the rudest doorman in London. Wouldn’t wish to book a room or table with such staff. While most of Ritz staff around the world are very professional and welcoming, you will be surprised how Ritz London doormen give themselves much authority just to ruin your experience.

We always visit The Rivoli Bar at The Ritz when we are in London. It is always such a delightful experience, with truly exceptional service and exciting seasonal cocktails.

My mother fell down on the road before arriving at the Ritz Hotel on the afternoon of 7/20. After entering the hotel, the front desk staff carefully helped us clean the wound and gave us OK. It was the first time I encountered such a careful hotel. I will definitely come back to the UK in the future. visiting

I visited The Ritz in the daytime and experienced the set menu, which was around £90 a head and the bottle of wine we purchased was around £60. The food here was beautiful from the taste to the presentation. I had no complaints with any of my 3 courses. The decor in this establishment is very luxurious and elegant with antique furnishings, and the customer service is 5* they make you feel like you're very important. When we booked, I imagined this being an overrated experience that people had hyped up. However, I was blown away with the quality of food and service!

It was my first time having breakfast here and it was more than perfect. I thought it wasn't just an event, but also a wonderful experience. The service is very friendly, courteous and attentive. The atmosphere is downright enchanting and the decor is very nice. The sumptuous meal was a spectacle for the taste buds and impeccable.

High Tea at The Ritz is an absolute must if you're in London! The food was delicious and there was so much of it! More than I've had at any other high tea. As well as the finger sandwiches, cakes and scones that came with the high tea, an additional dessert trolley came around with a blueberry cheesecake and a chocolate/hazelnut cake. 2 of us are gluten free so we had our own gf options for sandwiches, cakes and scones. (No gf options on the dessert trolley but we had more than enough food without it) We also added a glass of champagne to our high tea. The service was impeccable as you would expect and the ambiance was lovely, with a pianist playing during the high tea 🥂 It was the perfect way to celebrate my mum's 70th birthday 🎂

I had high expectations for such a prestigious establishment like the Ritz. Unfortunately, my recent interaction has left me immensely disappointed and l am reluctant to ever visit or recommend anyone to visit. I received a voucher as a gift and was eagerly looking forward to using it for a special occasion. However, when I attempted to redeem the voucher, I was informed by the staff that it could not be honoured and is now useless. The staff were unsympathetic and unhelpful, it’s unfortunate that such a renowned establishment would fail to resolve a customer service issue involving a prepaid voucher.

My husband and I got offered a voucher for Afternoon tea at the Ritz as a wedding pressent. Due to illness, we could not do it for a long time and we realised our voucher had expired when I called The Ritz to register my voucher against our reservation for the next day. I was then told by the (relatively pleasant) reception that they could not do anything for me and that I should call back the next day to talk to a Manager. They would be in a position to potentially extend my voucher's validity. I called the next day, explained my situation to another receptionist. After being put on hold for less than a minute, I was informed that the Manager would not agree to talk to me, nor would they make an exception and extend my voucher. I hung up the phone in tears. My husband then wrote an email to The Ritz to explain (again) our situation, what that Afternoon Tea voucher meant to us, and how upset I was by the way I had been handled. He received the same reply : NO. This is deeply disappointing, and what I consider being very poor customer service from an establishment such as The Ritz. I would have expected much better in the light of our very special circumstances.

This is a very classic and classy hotel in a great location in London. We stopped there on our way home after traveling through the Middle East and Indonesia for a month so our attire wasn’t quite up to standards. The teatime was good and they accommodated our vegetarian diet. It was a lot more sugar than we are accustomed to eating but that is typical with an English Tea. The rooms were elegant but on the small side. The staff was not as friendly as other 5 star resorts we have stayed in.

It’s the ritz! Come on, do I need to say more? Worth the money. Made to feel like royalty.

Thank you for your help with afternoon tea. When you enter the hotel, I think the bellhop will check your clothes. People who were wearing sneakers were asked questions. Since you are entering a luxury hotel, it is recommended that you dress up in style and enjoy your stay inside. The hotel was a nice and clean space, right down to the toilets.

We Americans could teach you british folk a thing or to about good bars. You people need to learn how to let loose and good and drunk. Who where's a suit to a bar. Maybe if they tried to make it more like the bars I go to back in Alabama. Country music is the best music to listen to while you drink. I tryd to get them to play some. You would have thought they'd be a little grateful to my asking them to improve the place and do things a little more like this like they do things back in God's greatest country the good old US of A were I'm from.

The security of hotel is really bad, I got stolen inside of it and my bags, all cards, documents and belongings got stolen. And they refused to let me see the cctv of what the thief looks like!

Only went for afternoon tea and loved it!

We went to “Diner dance” and it was a very special experience. You can take a la carte or menu and there is also a very professional dance performance. The parquet is “released” for dessert. The dessert specialty is the flambéing of the “Crepe Suzette” at the table. Very elegant atmosphere, but quite expensive.

Sorry for the name above .my son who has autism changed my name haha .my name is Julie and I went to ritz this week for afternoon tea .I had the best experience ever .booked and paid for by my partner who says I deserve a lovely treat from looking after 2 boys with special needs and especially my 50th birthday then little birthday cakes with candles we're brought out and I felt quite upset cos it was my birthday treat and I didn't get one .I'm quite an emotional person anyway .we thought people had ordered them.but seeong reviews it was part of a birthday treat .sounds silly .but anyway thankyou so much fora beautiful experience I would definitely do it again .💕

The Afternoon tea at the Ritz, while set in a gorgeous setting, seriously lacks attention to detail and is clearly surviving on the brand name/location alone. While this review may be harsh, the Ritz is a premium experience and prices itself as so, so in the context I think the review is fair. I've been to The Ritz twice, once for lunch in the restaurant and once for afternoon tea. I had two very different experiences. 5 stars for the lunch, 3 stars for the afternoon tea. The lunch was very good, delicious, and the staff were very attentive. We went during Queen Elizabeth's platinum jubilee, and even though I imagine it was a busy time for the hotel, they seemed very cool, calm, and collected. I remember having the duck for my main and it was excellent, I could not fault the experience. I wish I could say the same for the afternoon tea. I was very disappointed with this. We went to celebrate my husband's promotion at work, and although some people were given cakes for birthday's or for some other occasion, we didn't get any special treatment. When I've done afternoon tea at other locations, we're usually given scones or a cake to take home, but nothing here, in fact when I asked to take home the cake from the trolley (because we were too full to eat it then), we were told no. Our table was for 7.30pm, so maybe all the food is prepared at the start of the day, but I thought the sandwiches weren't very fresh, and personally I wasn't a fan of the cakes. The scones were very good though. All in all, I wouldn't go back for the afternoon tea. It's a shame as I thought they were famous for this, but other venues do it better.

I didn’t stay here, but I will plan my next trip around it. I stopped by briefly to check out the afternoon tea experience, and my friend told me this is the best English afternoon tea you can have. It costs 75 pound which is actually very reasonably priced. And it will take month ahead to get a spot. So next time I am back to London I will try the tea here.

Unfortunately, I must express my disappointment regarding the service I received from Federico. His lack of professionalism was evident from the outset. Not only was he unhelpful, but also rude and incompetent in handling my requests. It was a frustrating experience, and I would strongly advise against his service to anyone seeking proper and professional treatment.

They asked if we wanted more orange juice to which we replied yes- 20 minutes goes by and we have still not received it and thus decided to leave. But overall I would say 60/70% great but a few things were left out which we would have definitely enjoyed and made a more memorable experience.

Wonderful once in a Lifetime treat

From childhood to adulthood, every time I enter, I look forward to the harpist. I recently stayed to attend an opera at the Royal Opera House, and I'd like to thank you. I am always treated with the utmost respect; my mother always dresses like a lady for every meal, and the hotel personnel are kind. I intend to visit every few months and will do so for the rest of my life. Magical!

Spectacular I would repeat it again.

We went yesterday for my birthday for afternoon tea. It was the most amazing experience. The food was delicious and the service was second to none. Even at one point when I felt a bit unwell (dehydrated) and the waiter came over to check if I was okay and got me a glass of water straight away. Very observant. I got emotional when all of us whose birthday it was got a little cake with a candle and the piano player played 'happy birthday' in the back ground. Such a nice touch. We are already planning another visit with our family and I would like to bring my best friend. Thank you

Second time staying here and loved it even more. Central location, beautiful facilities and attentive staff. We had afternoon tea during our stay and it was a wonderful way to unwind and recharge during the day. Easy to get around to the attractions.

This review is related to the afternoon tea service. I requested my reservation be cancelled after I accidentally made an afternoon tea appointment in London instead of Paris. Upon this request, the workers on the phone were very rude and not at all understanding. I would expect a bit of curtesy for such an expensive service. In the end, they cancelled my reservation, charged me the full price of the tea, and were incredibly rude. They could have at least been a little nicer and offered to help change the reservation to another date or to the right location.

I used it for afternoon tea. Still, it cost over 30,000 yen for two people. I think it was about 75 pounds per person. To be honest, I think it's expensive, but everything was magnificent and beautiful and I was impressed. I won't be able to go there many times, but I would like it to be a souvenir of my trip to London. I pushed myself a little. In the end, I'm glad I went. Some people have written in their reviews that they felt discrimination against Asians, but we did not feel any discrimination. You can order a second helping of tea or a second sandwich without asking anything. He was very kind and friendly. Even though we could not speak English, they spoke to us slowly and responded politely. On the way home, they gave us the leftover cake to take out. There was no problem with discrimination at all. Afterwards, reservations are required. I made a reservation about 2 months in advance. By the way, everyone came dressed stylishly. There is a dress code. In other words, it's a space where you won't feel embarrassed if you're wearing sneakers and jeans.
