The Ritz - JD Wetherspoon in Lincoln

Was looking for a other Wetherspoons but this one was excellent, recommend it.

The service could not be faulted. The pub itself was fine, the food was typical Wetherspoons. Unfortunately the toilets were dismal.

I had a wonderful time at the Ritz, so much so that i’ve become a regular! Big fan of the friendly faces that always greet me! I’d like to give a big shoutout to James R, who always serves me with a big smile and a perfect Guinness. He never fails to impress with his excellent customer service and a very nice beard 🥵. Also notable mentions to Lewis from the kitchen, who always sends his compliments with the food. Make sure you pop in next time you’re about! Tim Martin is my personal hero! #PintsWithTim

Came in yesterday, had bbq chicken pizza and a Stella, nothing exciting just a quick visit, staff were super polite and helpful, I can see why they have regulars

A really nice Spoons. The usual good quality food. The delivery of the first round of drinks was a little slow. Everything else was good.

Was in Ritz Spoons for no longer than 5 minutes, asked if it was possible to have an all day brunch with no beans and the waitress was extremely rude and unhelpful

We’d been there less than five minutes, one of my friends ordered a drink and when it was delivered, one of my other friends asked if they’d be able to get the breakfast without beans. The response was very rude and snappy, so much so we were all caught off guard by it. We were so stunned that we didn’t want to stay for our breakfast any longer. The server was blonde with glasses. I understand having bad days, but reacting like that to one simple question was crazy

Came here for breakfast with friends, we were there no longer than 5 minutes as one of us politely asked if you can have breakfast without beans, to which the waitress ignored the question mid conversation, rolled her eyes and walked off. She was a younger slim lady with blonde hair in her mid 20s who had a staff lanyard on. We felt the service was patronising and we didn't feel welcome so we left.

Arrived way before 12 noon was waiting nearly 20mins to be served at the till then was refused a breakfast I am extremely disappointed in service and won't be visiting again

Not a bad place to eat,not busy either and it was tea time.

Cheap drinks, good selection of beers and cider's, refills on coffee, teas, hot chocolate, free WiFi, manager specials.

As far as Wetherspoons go, it's fairly bog-standard. Strong selection of drinks, including local ales on rotation on tap. Food is the same as it ever is in Wetherspoons. Decor is lovely, actually, and prices are incredibly low. Never a first choice for a pub, but always a strong one.

Protect this traditional brekky at all costs. We don’t want avacado. The only add ons we accept are black pudding and halloumi “style” cheese.

Cavernous drinking hole with decent range of Festival ales to try. Rammed with people having a braw time made this place feel relaxed and cheering. Got a bowl of chips served at a temperature the surface of the sun would be comparable to and these staved off the hunger perfectly to allow a few more beers. The flight of three thirds I had were very good and a price point you just cannot dispute!

Bloody awful cold..not even hot tomatoes gone bad and ten acres of garden peas with small piece of hunters chicken and hard cold mash .. really disgusting. partner had the smallest burger not worth the £25 even though it had free drinks .Waitress asked twice if it was OK and both times I complained and both times ignored she couldn't give a fig

If you want good food this is not the place for you. If you want cheap then fill your boots.

Katie was very helpful as I was cold and my colleague after a long day at work . Katie offered to move us table and lit the open fire top marks and unbelievable service , I would hope the young lady is commended for her efforts I will visit again .

Nice Art Deco interior, Good beer at a sensible price, and reasonable food.

Really enjoyed our visit food was good as was the atmosphere. One little gripe was the air conditioning was set a little too cold and being a cold day as well made it a bit unpleasant but other wise a great visit will definitely go again

Love meeting family and friends here for breakfast, great range of food and free refills on the coffee. Lots of options including vegetarian to keep everyone satisfied. We are returning again soon.

Food not very good my wife's curry ,rice was like a cow pat man rock hard all had to go back . My meal not to bad except for the chips 12 on plate ask if more was comming apparently thay are measured out have had a lot more in the past they said they were sorry but they were very busy no excuse.

This pub is always buzzing Good food plenty of it and always hot.

Brilliant place too sit down and relax with a nice drink and some good food.

I would try to complain about the cleanliness of the place, but let's be honest here. You come for good if not great prices, good tasting food, pub atmosphere, order by app, wait a reasonable time if not at the busiest moment. What else do you want?

Had a few drinks the round must have been around £20 which seemed cheap I stood up knocked chair over once picked chair up went to bar was told I'd knocked it over 3 times wasn't going to be served Has this happened to you. I feel the judgement of a mean spirited front of house person was uncalled for. I've worked within the industry for over 30 years and find this mind boggling HAS THIS HAPPENED TO YOU AT THE RITZ WEATHER SPOONS LINCOLN if so they need to sort otor they'll start losing buisness

Absolutely heaving when we visited, but staff are super efficient. It's a Weatherspoons, so you know what you get.....good value breakfast 😉

Skillfully restored former cinema, with the usual Wetherspoons great value food and drink.

Beer was cold from the fridge not often you see a barman looking for cold bottles at the back of the chiller 👍🏻 Great wee burger well tasty not like the usual from a spoons defo a must try for anyone close by

Your typical wetherspoons. Beautiful building, helpful staff and cheap beer. Food isnt the best but decent and is cheap and consistent so not too bad. Pretty good setup really.

Very disappointed with the food. We've had Wetherspoons meals for two thirds of the price which were much larger in the last couple of weeks. Meals were definitely on the small size. Will definitely be checking the prices beforehand next time I'm thinking of going to a Wetherspoons. At least the toilets were clean.

Always know what you are getting with a Spoons. Service is always reasonably fast, even when busy. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. Table service saves queuing.

Atmosphere is very good, not had any food to comment, the service can sometimes be questionable at the bar, even when not busy. I've stood for a good 5 minutes or more on more than one occasion and watched other people after me get served in front of me. Other than that, I do enjoy a pint and a bit of people watching in there.

Went in for food and drink. Decided against food as so many un-clreared tables. Waited at the bar for 20 minutes. Two people serving and had no understanding of queueing and service so ordered online and waited a further 20 minutes. Hardly anyone in the pub. Decided against returning later for dinner. Very poor management.

Popped in for a couple of drinks as we were in Lincoln. The beer was awful and not drinkable food was just reasonable. Less than you would expect from microwaved weather's food. Don't bother buying anything other than bottles.

A multi-generational place. You will meet young and old smiling people here. Beer festival... well, it's a feast for beer lovers. Prices from £2 for a beer put this place in competition with other pubs. The food is also decent and recommendable. It's worth entering

Large pub close to the city centre. Wide array of drinks available. Plenty of seating but was extremely busy on the Friday night I was there with many people eating (so assume they were running a special deal).

Service was superb because food came so fast and the atmosphere was very nice and just at the heart of town. I gave them a 4 star because the last at the tilt messed the service up. She needs to be trained properly, mostly in ability to work under pressure. There was no crowd yet she couldn't get people's orders right. She just kept redoing it continuously. The food was amazing. I had American breakfast while my friend had English breakfast

Food is ok. Tables are cleaned not very often. Cutlery sometimes is dirty. Also you can get just random cutlery but not what you really need for certain food. Don't be surprised if you have to eat Ice cream using a fork. Today I got cutlery with previous food leftovers. Bartender doesn't listen very carefully when customer order the food. Therefore don't be surprised when you get something else but not what you actually wanted

Absolute joke of a meal. Came into wetherspoons for a quick bite to eat where there was one member of staff on the bar actually serving on a SUNDAY. After waiting for a while we decided to order via the app, our table number read 60, after waiting half an hour and still not recieving anything, my partner went up to the bar and asked where our food and drinks were. The waitress then told him our food had been ready for a while and that our table number must’ve been rubbed out because we were actually sat on table 69. When our food finally arrived it was stone cold, I had the fish and chips which was served with tartar sauce 7 MONTHS past its best before date. If we wasn’t so hungry and already absolutely sick to death with this place we would’ve asked for a fresh plate but we just wanted to get out. Absolute joke of a meal I get it’s a wetherspoons but this was actually disgusting. 5 star hygiene review serving tartar sauce 7 months past its best before date?? SHOCKING

The service was not very good, not getting our order right from the start and then my daughter being called a liar in so many words is not right. The bar staff were very rude as well serving many people after my partner arrived at the bar before said people. Needs sorting

Good value for money Yes you get what you pay for. in life But at a wetherspoons that doesn't meant rubbish beer is well keep food is what it ssy on the menu so half a Tomato is half etc so if you out shopping and need a meal and pint drop in. There a lot better value than some of the fast food place's.

Ordered 2 drinks on the app, took over 1/4 hour to be told the ale wasn't available, asked for a refund, told refund takes 8-10 days, suspect Tim is putting profit before customer care.

Been coming too this pub for about twenty years everything change but I love the people I love the staff they always be there for you when you need something

After visiting in the summer and popping in for a few drinks we decided to go back here for a big family catch up as it's cheap and cheerful and suits everyone's different tastes. They've had a lovely makeover done since our last visit. We liked it before, but it's even better now. Although there was quite a few of us there, during a busy afternoon/eve the staff and management did a great job getting our food and drinks to us over the few hours we spent there. Food enjoyed by all and a very good range of drinks. We all had a great time at The Ritz 🙂

It’s as Ritzs as a Wetherspoons can be, as for a pub, food is spot on, drinks yummy and staff are super friendly. Beer garden is 10/10 love smoking ciggys under fairy lights

Had run out of steak about 7pm, and for the fruit salad they had run out of 3 out of 4 fruits

Terrible, yes it was 1040 in the evening but a very quiet venue, Only 2 hot elements on my plate and both came cold and not as ordered, ordered being the way. it should be served. Grilled Chicken Sloppy and cold and rice tepid at best. To hear then after once report had gone through from floor staff , a load of shouting z and unhappiness. Didn’t make me feel welcome from that point, Ok, So i hear it could have been replaced, given the afore mentioned environment why would Igave bothered?

We visited on a Saturday at 4.30pm, there were a few tables available and the atmosphere was pleasant. Although it was fairly busy the drinks and food arrived within 15 minutes. I had the vegan Katsu curry but it's not clear on the menu that it doesn't come with poppadums or naan. There's also no vegan dessert options.

Upgraded to five stars for this Wetherspoons, not often I give 5 to a Spoons but deserved in this case. Good range of cheap, well kept ales, clean tables and nice toilets, well worth seeking out if you're in Lincoln.

Despite alleged recent refurbishment, very little has actually changed, a relocation of the coffee machine and opening up an old fire exit. Same tired old shabby venue with exact same dirty stained carpets, same rickety tables and chairs, same delapedated leaky smelly toilets. Many of the staff are clearly not happy to be there and appear to have little or no training in even the most basics. Some slam your food and drinks down without speaking or making eye contact, then scurry back to the bar area empty handed passing empty tables littered with the plates, glasses, bottles and general detritus from the last occupants. It's almost if they have been instructed not to clear and wipe down tables. Two tips I would give anyone visiting. Unless the place is very quiet, order your food and drinks via the app because you will loose the will to live waiting at the bar to do it. Also unless it is very quite, stick to the pizza because the kitchen staff can't do busy, not even mildly busy, they will mess up and send out terrible car crash food when put under the slightest of pressure. One anomaly on the menu is that the price on all of the options is relatively good value except the chips. A bowl cost a packet for what's only a handful of oven chips. Unfortunately in common with many wetherspoons, it seems to attract people who drink more than they can handle and they become very loud and extremely annoying to the point it's hard to hold a conversation with someone your with in there. With the tables and chairs being so close together, many of the customers who do over indulge bang into them all as they continually walk/stagger past going to the bar or toilet every five minutes. The real shame is that it wouldn't take much to massively improve the place. A proper refurbishment to freshen it up and train the staff to a much better standard, especially the manager's who really ought to be on top of things, ensuring tables are cleared, wiped clean and then chairs put back in place, menus set at each table, all the rubbish and food on the floor under and around tables cleared away etc. Also checking the cutlery is properly cleaned before wrapping it in a napkin and sending it out is a simple task but clearly never done. Come on Ritz wetherspoons Lincoln, get a grip.
