Busy. Service a bit rushed. Food was ok

Waitress didn't have much info about menu or drinks

Went with a party of 8 today. Took quite a long time for our drinks to make it to the table, they were out of strawberry syrup for a cocktail, and instead offered a 14 year old a margarita as a replacement. Appetizers arrived with the meal, 3 people didn't get what they ordered. Food was edible, and that's the best thing I have to say about it. Mexican food should not taste or smell of yellow curry. Burrito was soggy. Nachos had a thin tomato sauce and some microwave melted cheese on them, frankly it was disgusting and no one ate that. No offer of another drink for anyone. The service was piss poor. The food was one step up from boot camp chow hall. We asked for a manager and there was not one available, on a Saturday. This place should be ashamed of their business. Honestly taco bell is more authentic and tastes better. Save your time and money.

Food was very good and tasty, came quick enough and was family inexpensive at about 20 pounds per person with a drink. Servers where kind and nice tho did take a while to notice we where finished, tho we where tucked away in a corner so I cant blame them too much. Was a bit noisy but overall the atmosphere is nice.

Colourful, clean and authentic. Great service from the waiter. The food was amazing, we had starters and mains, I had a prawn salad, I can honestly say it was the best salad I've ever had, totally amazing tastes and giant prawns. The only thing that I would change would be the music in the background; I would have preferred more relaxing Mexican music. Overall, a lovely experience.

terrible. no nachos, when we complained we were told it's ok you can just eat the dips with a knife and fork. just a joke, will order from tortilla next time, never again, tax dodgers as well.

Great tasting mex tex/mex food which were filling and well portioned. It would be nice if there were some hot sauce options available on the tables so you can mix up the spice a bit. The service was good and efficient, we visited on a quiet Sunday night so can't comment for busy times. My only complaint is that I felt the music was quite loud and not really appropriate for the restaurant. Also, the opening hours at the front lists Saturday twice, insteas of Saturday & Sunday.

Great little Mexican, I visited there sat 14th Jan 2024 , starts and mains lovley and adiquate portions but I was very disappointed on the size of the desserts !!! £6.90 For a sticky toffee pudding that didn't come with anything else ie ice cream ect , the size if it was ridiculous it measured approx 1 inch square 1.5 inch !!! On a large plate , this is a total rip off and will never have a sweet there again !!

Really nice food and atmosphere. Will definitely come back again when we are in Lincoln. Calamari starter was some of the best I have ever had. Taco’s were superb and the chilli con carne was excellent according to my wife. Well worth the walk up steep hill.

Where to start, I should have known we was trouble when we started with nachos for my little one and some were burnt, salsa was from a jar/packet and the guacamole was bland, wife’s nachos which were labelled as “for people with big appetites” was actually smaller than my child’s, literally 4 nachos around the bowl and the rest was just the refried beans, burger was really nice but this is a mexican restaurant, so when my little one had tacos they were so soggy and bland to where she couldn’t eat them, no salt or cheese etc. The wifes chicken fajita was the exact same, super soggy, bland and flavourless. It’s not like they were super busy either as an excuse as the place was only half full. The bill came at the end and it’s the highest amount I’ve ever paid for food in lincoln for literally the worst food I’ve had in lincoln, don’t like to leave bad reviews but I’m not quite sure how they can have repeat custom and be going for so many years when genuinely old El Paso kits are more flavoured then here. Not good.

Had such a lovely meal for my sons birthday. Food was great, with a variety of choice. And the staff were very helpful and welcoming!

Absolutely shocking, we planned to go travelling 25 minutes to get there looking forward to a meal to find out they are not open even when it says they’re open on their opening times. Rung the place up and they said they were open when all the lights were off and we were stood outside the place. Absolutely useless. Don’t bother

Had a lovely meal here celebrating my wife's 50th bithday. The food was excellent and so was the service. We found the music unnecessarily loud which rather spoiled the experience for us. Nevertheless would go again for the food!

Bland food that lacked Mexican flavours. Service was horrible. I stood for 5 mins without being spoken to, although the staff gave me a number of looks. I had to go to the kitchen to ask for a table. It's clear to see why this place is almost always empty.

Waited for mains 35 minutes. Some lovely, some mediocre.

A fantastic place to grab a quick bite and have a few drinks. The chicken nachos are tasty and not too spicy. The Old Fashioned was perfect and the meu includes several margarita options. Staff are friendly and prompt without being pushy. For the American tourists, note that a service charge is included with the bill, so there is no need to add an extra tip unless you really want to. If that is the case, I recommend leaving cash.

Disappointed. So we had an early evening meal here on Saturday 19th August 2023. Shown to the table and browsed the menu and ordered Guacamole , Nacho con salsa, Onion rings, Pork belly and Jalapeño queso from the tapas menu, and a vegetable fajita from the mains. Service was nice, with an attentive server. Meals all arrived after a little wait and initially I was looking forward to the food, which was nicely presented. Upon eating I was becoming disappointed with the food quality. The onion rings were not hand cut and were very likely to be frozen and just cooked in a frier. Same goes for the jalapeño queso (stuffed jalapeños) which I am also sure were also frozen. Guacamole was okay, but had a lot better, and the pork belly was supposed to be cubes, but was flat sliced pork with some sauce on top, and I was slightly disappointed with it. Nachos were ok, but had a lot better elsewhere. Fajitas were average, little bland, and we had to order more wraps as there was not enough. This was not an issue though. When I got the check, I spoke to the server about the onion rings and my disappointment with them and he was slighly embarrassed and said ‘I am sorry, kitchen is very busy’ (to do ‘hand cut’ ones) or something like that. Such a shame if the kitchen is too busy to cook nice fresh food. If you want good, fresh food (and tapas) then Ole Ole is the place to go to.

3 of us had a great time. It took a while for the food to arrive, so do consider heading over here early and spending time talking and chatting until your order arrives. Great atmosphere, lots of laughter, fun vibes, pretty happening place

Nice food but the service was very slow seeing that we were the only ones there. Most of the time. We had finished the dips when we were asked if we was ready for the mains. So we then had to wait for them to be cooked ect

We had a really lovely meal here. We ordered the veggie Burrito and pulled pork sandwich. Veggie nachos and Guacamole Service was spot on and the food was served hot and tasty. Food is so often served Luke warm but this was perfect!

Pre-booked table, pleasant staff, good range of meals and drinks. IF you have mobility issues the toilets are upstairs. We were okay, so I don't know if there are any alternative facilities. £140 for four of us.

Microwave food at restaurant prices, moody service and not a single. other person in the restaurant, buy a microwave meal instead is my advice

The small frontage and somewhat mass chain appearance of the menu do thos place a disservice. There are a good selection of the headline mexican dishes and those we tried had good flavours and the portions were good for the money. They have a tapas option as well, although many of the dishes are more Spanish, but that clearly may suit some groups better.

Nice atmosphere, decent food, reasonable price.

Popped in for a late night snack on Sunday evening, not many other places open at 9.30pm. We ordered some sharing plates, the portions were fairly small but tasty, the service was OK, not many people in.

While visiting Lincoln we stopped in for dinner, however the lack of guest at dinner time should have given us a clue. Tasteless food drenched in mozzarella cheese. The refried beans were a weird grey color, I'm not sure what type of beans were used. The rice was completely inedible. Nice location but I would highly suggest they actually revisit their cooking method as this did not resemble Mexican food in any fashion.

Do not recommend. I've been to Tequilas twice now, once last year and earlier this month. Not only have a seen a rats around the building, the management are rude to staff and the food was bland, clearly from frozen as it was still cold in the middle. I tried to give it another go but was just as disappointing as my first visit. Such a shame as the waiting staff were great, clearly needs better management.

Came in here as a last resort as we wanted somewhere to eat at short notice, they were accomodating to a group of 6 people and was able to find us a table. I think this place is good but not amazing, I found my mojito cocktail a bit disappointing for £8 but my quesadilla made up for it as it was very nice. Overall it's a good little place.

Dreadful experience. Under staffed, Margherita tasted like it was made from a powder and rehydrated. Owner should be ashamed.

Was 25mins sat down nobody served us for a drink Staff were not the best, would constantly forget things we asked for had to ask twice (not rude just not trained clearly the younger student ones) Took an hour and a half for food to arrive, was there a total of 2.5 hours. Staff would just walk off when you’re asking them for things. Didn’t ask us how food was, didn’t offer us a second drink. Felt very excluded. At the end asked about nhs discount, she said she would find out. Came back didn’t say a word just slapped the bill on the table, came back to get money and I said “take it that’s a no to nhs discount”…she was like “yeah no” I think staff just need better training, we’re not intentionally unpleasant, just very flat, not great at service. Food wasn’t too bad, enjoyed the chimichanga very much.

this is a hidden jem. Even though I was a little under the weather, I still tasted wonderful spices, and the seating was perfect.

Decent value for money. The service wasn't awful but we felt quite rushed to order and my partner got asked to order after he had just sat down and I wasn't at the table. My partner had a beef chimichanga which looked lovely and he really enjoyed. We shared nachos Mexicanas which were also really nice. I ordered the veggie burger. The chips and onion rings it came with we're nice enough but the burger was extremely greasy and I couldn't finish it. It sat very heavy on my stomach. It was also very ordinary and didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the food, which to be fair looked lovely.

Cocktail, food and service were all disappointing. Won’t be returning.

Did a goggle search for a Mexican restaurants and this one came up trumps. The restaurant is clean and looks good and the service was excellent. Nice selection of food so went for the enchiladas which looked good and tasted amazing. The only problem was it wasn't very hot/spicy.... ! I eat in a lot of Mexicans and they're generally quite spicy but not here. So if you like it mild and I mean mild then this is your place but if like myself you like it hot then I advise somewhere else.

Appalling service, we booked months in advance paid a deposit and was sat in the worst table in the building. We Turned up and the waitress wasn't expecting us. The table wasn't set. Had to wait for ages for drinks which were made awfully, two dishes diddnt arrive with the mains and when we asked for a manager apparently one wasn't on site neither was a supervisor. Anyone who is used to good service and great food and drink I advise not to even entertain this venue. The worst hospitality I have ever received.

To call it authentic "Mexican" is an insult. I have Mexican heritage and it's nowhere near authentic however my standards were already low yet this place made them even lower. The beans look like vomit and the chicken tasted like they threw tiny bit of salt and pepper and finished it by adding some red food dye to give it color. I ordered a Piña colada and they decided to give me just the colada. By that I mean they did not provide the pineapple (piña) and the alcohol content was so non existent it would have been safe for a child to consume. I almost cried due to the food being so bad. Service was good though.

No option for fresh margarita - only frozen. The margarita was just mix plus carbonated water plus a few dehydrated strawberries (disgusting). Tequila special was horrible. Rice was undercooked and essentially was basmati (Indian rice) with flavoring. Meat had no flavor

I am disgusted with this service. I have been waiting hours for my food to be delivered from Tequilas Restaurant. The order has obviously been delivered to the wrong address. I am furious.

Food was average, Service was OK, no de caff coffee and limited soft drinks. Tables are small so can't get your knees under properly. Overall was OK but probably wouldn't return

I was unable to select which filling I wanted. I left a note saying that I wanted the vegetarian filling and when it arrived it was chicken.

Fab little hidden gem. Food is great and the waitresses Harriet, Charlie and Le Mai are very friendly! Had a chat with the manager Saied and he seemed very nice. Would recommend to anyone.

Booked on Saturday afternoon 1pm for my wife's birthday with our 3 kids. Food was on the whole lovely and served in good time (we were on table at arrival). Wife's Chimichanga however, had a long black hair in the middle of it which she discovered half way through so she didn't finish (it was the wrong colour for hers). Was offered a replacement Chimichanga but we didn't take it as we had all nearly done eating. Didn't discount the meal so reduced tip to 10%. Probably wouldn't go back as it was a special occasion but tainted the experience a little.

Was wary because of the price and didn’t want to be let down but it came on time or early and was so delicious. Had the chicken fajita and the amount of chicken in there was amazing! Reusable packaging for some products which I appreciated. Overall really good food along with everything else! Recommend:))

Our server was friendly and generally professional, but mixed up the dishes resulting in a vegetarian being served a meat burrito, which wasn't obvious until we'd started our meal. The manager was apathetic about it, which was unimpressive. He didn't offer any acknowledgement or apology upon returning to the premises and we were the only customers in there. Mistakes can happen, and that's life, but we won't be returning as we thought the attitude of the manager was so poor. I simply wouldn't trust this establishment to serve me food again based on their poor attitude and general lack of concern.

We have visited this restaurant twice now and both visits were great, good service and food. What was probably the biggest problem is choosing what to have, there are so many options to temp you from the tapas to the many main courses.

Really bad service and even worse food. To top it all of there is a a mouse hole in the restaurant that’s visible to everyone and every so often it pops it’s head out to say hello. If you bring up all these issues to the staff you will get no response . Avoid like the plague

Delivery. Ordered Prawn Enchiladas, got chicken. Fair enough, mistakes happen, but when I called to tell them they told me there was nothing they could do as they were too busy and they’d call me tomorrow. Luckily ordered from Uber Eats and they refunded the £15.10. Think I had a lucky escape as the thing that did arrive looked appalling.

Paid £15.50 for raw chicken and salad looked off, no tasted, low quality, I gave start for give something, but I don't think they deserve it. I won't ordered again.

WHAT A SHAME! When we got to the restaurant we were greeted by a rude waitress who continued to give us dirty looks throughout our time there! She walked away while we were answering her questions (can I get you a drink? How is the food?), oh and did I forget to say she kept giving us both a dirty scowl! While we were waiting for our starters a server and the chef had a huge shouting match for all to hear, the server than came out swearing… a nice and awkward atmosphere. On and to add the music felt like a pre-drinking session in a 6pm Yates rather than a Mexican restaurant. Finally the food… nachos are the easiest things to cook however, they were stale and the bottom was all soggy and gross covered in squirty shop bought sauce! The chicken chimichanga was at least a day old! The chicken had that old rubber chicken taste and it had been deep fried to the point of no return! Throughout our experience the service was hostile and rude, the food was absolutely disgusting and they like to have fights in the kitchen… I think Gordon Ramsey Kitchen Nightmares should take a visit.
