Tequilas Mexican in Lincoln

Beautiful food, great service. Leaving feeling very full. Lovely atmosphere too. Would happily recommend a visit 😀😀

Lovely food with friendly service.

After hearing mixed reviews, we decided to finally put Tequilas to the test and visited on New Year’s Eve as a table of 8. We were pleasantly surprised by the interior of the restaurant; the place was full and there was a lively, warm atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food was fairly average and was more like something you might throw together when at home. It was lacking in flavour and could’ve done with a bit more spice. The presentation of the meals also left a lot to be desired which no doubt kick started the underwhelming tone for the food. However, the staff cannot be faulted; they were very polite, friendly and helpful and made the evening enjoyable. All in all, glad to have given it a go, but there are much better restaurants around the Bailgate area.

Visited Tequilas while on a short break in lincoln, we were greeted at the door by a friendly welcoming waitress, the menu had a great selection and we opted for chimichanga and the enchiladas. They came piping hot, a decent portion size and were all so tasty. The salsa and sourcream sides tasted so fresh too. Would definitely recommend booking there.

Friendly service. Very expensive wine list - £26 for the cheapest bottle of red plonk. My food was bland, my daughter's pork belly tapas was chewy to the point of being inedible. This restaurant was nearly empty on the Saturday night before Christmas, when every other restaurant on Bailgate was heaving, which tells a story.

What a wonderful little find! We had a child free evening, and decided to go and find a Mexican restaurant somewhere. I stumbled across this little treasure online, booked online and set at it. We received a lovely warm welcome, with a very family owned touch. The choice was great, we went down the tapas route, and were not disappointed at all. Great drinks choice for a relatively small place, which was another bonus. The atmosphere and aesthetics in general were on point. The bill? Half that I was expecting to pay that evening. We can’t wait to return with friends, and thank you again.

Ok food overall. However, we asked for a recommendation of a sharing starter and were advised to pick anything from the tapas menu. We chose loaded potato skins and were presented with a single potato skin between two of us. The calamari, nachos Mexicana and chorizo were good, the pork belly was dry with a squirt of bottled bbq sauce on the top and sadly the patatas alioli tasted like the inside of a nail salon.

Popped in for a quick meal about 9pm on a Saturday. Only a few people in. Food was ok, not amazing but tasty enough. Good service. Being expected to pay an extra £2 for some extra sour cream wasn’t ideal.

Looked where to go to for evening meal while at guest house in Lincoln. Tequilas came up, different, not a chain, interesting menu. We were very happy with our choice of this restaurant and would confidently go back if in the area again.

We had walked past Tequilas a few times but never when it was open, so when we decided to go out for dinner tonight we thought we'd give it a go, and we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and the food surpassed our expectations. We tried some of the Mexican Tapas as starters and I could happily have eaten a full bowl of the chickpea and chorizo salad, for my partner it was the Mexican goulash that stood out. The mains were delicious and very filling, and I could hear my fajitas sizzling from across the restaurant as they brought them out. We will definitely be going back.

The food was quite average. When my meal came out it was very small, and the staff seemed confused about dietary restrictions and what food was on the menu.

Diabolical service. Watched people follow us and the so called person running the show handed a menu to a lady still taking her coat off. Our party ordered 2 bottles of coke and that was it no glass no ice. Absolutely no idea. Don't eat here.

Came for dinner tonight and was massively let down. Food came out before drinks and was barely more than warm, drinks were then delivered much later but were wrong, and because they can only make 1 cocktail at a time we’d finished eating (what we could stomach) before the right cocktails and table water were delivered. Waitress delivering food asked us to tell her which was enchiladas and which was chilli. When we asked for the bill, we were promptly asked how much we’d like to tip, which by this point was a firm nothing. Has the potential to be a nice place if it changes how it does pretty much everything.

Favourite spot in Lincoln, incredible food- always. Friendly and attentive staff, a must visit.

Very disappointed that restaurants like this make people think that it’s a “authentic Mexican food” 🫣🫣🫣🫣 as a Mexican I feel offended!!! There is non dish that it’s actually Mexican and the taste no even good, the service was awful!!! When we arrived the people in there were sat at a table on their phones and they look at us like …. Can I help you? Not very welcoming. Very very slow service and we was the first table and it wasn’t busy at all. Not sure how tapas it’s any close to Mexican food though???

I work away in lincoln often and this place is a great Mexican for a meal out.

I'm writing what I feel is a fair review. Fajitas are tasty but sauce pots hardy bigger than a 50p... Lack of sauces.... Tortilla wrap 3 x small... Refried beans microwaved and very dry so they bought another out. Fries were amazing! Currently sat waiting for a receipt though for over 20 minutes and there are 2 couples here and me...quiet night. Service friendly but not trained well. Maybe new.

They had a new waitress on, so we didn't really get what we ordered but what we got was very good. Reasonably priced, chill atmosphere, empty on a Friday night?

Went with a party of 8 today. Took quite a long time for our drinks to make it to the table, they were out of strawberry syrup for a cocktail, and instead offered a 14 year old a margarita as a replacement. Appetizers arrived with the meal, 3 people didn't get what they ordered. Food was edible, and that's the best thing I have to say about it. Mexican food should not taste or smell of yellow curry. Burrito was soggy. Nachos had a thin tomato sauce and some microwave melted cheese on them, frankly it was disgusting and no one ate that. No offer of another drink for anyone. The service was piss poor. The food was one step up from boot camp chow hall. We asked for a manager and there was not one available, on a Saturday. This place should be ashamed of their business. Honestly taco bell is more authentic and tastes better. Save your time and money.

Food was very good and tasty, came quick enough and was family inexpensive at about 20 pounds per person with a drink. Servers where kind and nice tho did take a while to notice we where finished, tho we where tucked away in a corner so I cant blame them too much. Was a bit noisy but overall the atmosphere is nice.

Colourful, clean and authentic. Great service from the waiter. The food was amazing, we had starters and mains, I had a prawn salad, I can honestly say it was the best salad I've ever had, totally amazing tastes and giant prawns. The only thing that I would change would be the music in the background; I would have preferred more relaxing Mexican music. Overall, a lovely experience.

terrible. no nachos, when we complained we were told it's ok you can just eat the dips with a knife and fork. just a joke, will order from tortilla next time, never again, tax dodgers as well.

Great tasting mex tex/mex food which were filling and well portioned. It would be nice if there were some hot sauce options available on the tables so you can mix up the spice a bit. The service was good and efficient, we visited on a quiet Sunday night so can't comment for busy times. My only complaint is that I felt the music was quite loud and not really appropriate for the restaurant. Also, the opening hours at the front lists Saturday twice, insteas of Saturday & Sunday.
