We had a party there for our son, the food was great value and the staff were brilliant, friendly and went above and beyond to make everything go smoothly.

Great roast dinner, up there with the best we've had in St Margaret's. Definitely will return

Stopped by this pub today for a Sunday roast and had the chicken—absolutely delicious! The meat was tender and full of flavour, but the real star of the meal was the gravy. Rich, perfectly seasoned, and poured generously—it took the whole dish to another level. Highly recommended for a comforting Sunday treat!

I love this pub because good food and good service

We used to really like this place, but it keeps getting worse every time we come. Last time, they served us a misshapen pizza with almost no cheese on it - it was absolutely inedible. Really disappointing

I usually absolutely love this pub, have been a few times and the food and service is 10/10 most times. The two bartenders on today were absolutely incredible and lovely however there shouldn’t have only been two of them on. It was a quiz night and they were actively running around like headless chickens and thats not fair on them, they should have had an extra person on. I cannot fault them for how hard they tried, but when the busy was full inside and outside they struggled and service took a hit. Shout out to Ben for holding a fabulous quiz! And I hope next time the pub will think twice and put more staff on.

Very nice pub and great food. Very friendly and accomodating of young children. Facilities have improved a lot after the refurbishment. Should add a 3rd ale or bring back twickenham, but overall very good and worth a visit.

The nicest staff you can ever deal with in a pub in London, and also some of the greatest pizzas my wife and I have ever had in the borough!

Had a really great lunch (fish and chips this time) here on this occasion but have been before. For sure they do the best tasting Sunday roasts in the area. We were served by Harvey and he was super friendly, helpful and contributed to the good vibes of the venue. Thank you🙏🏼

Great location soon to be taken over by Young's though at end of October so will be interesting to see what if anything changes. UPDATE: This has now undergone a full refurb and is now a Young's owned pub, still serving great food and showing major sporting events. Nice outdoor space on a sunny day. Also now has backgammon night's every other Tuesday from 6pm.

We were looking for a last minute pub meal with my wife, kids and most importantly a venue that allows a dog. They could fit us in straight away without any fuss and the dog was welcomed. The pub was very busy, the staff were very welcoming and looked after us very well. The food was great, they run out of mash but had alternatives like roast potatoes or chips which was fine with us. Perfect place perfect food, fantastic staff and service. We highly recommend the pub to any visitors or locals, we will definitely stop by for food when next visiting London again.

Order food by QR code or at the counter. Food and drinks will be served to your table. Nice and comfortable place. Out door seats with cushion. Good for family with kids as there is a Marble Hill Park just opposite the road. Off street parking or paid car park at the park. What a lovely pub restaurant in a sunny day!

One of my favourite spots in Richmond! The food is JUST incredible - Special shout out to chef Denis! The whole team there is super friendly and although I’ve been visiting for a years, I love the recent revamp and new decor - super cosy.

The service is so bad it’s almost funny. Why they drive you to ordering on the ap and don’t just wait on you I don’t know. Infact I suspect it’s to do with keeping costs down and not hiring staff. As a result the staff are fast food waiters. Food ok. Atmosphere nice as it’s full of locals and the locals round here are nice!

I had lunch here today (Sunday) together with an old acquaintance. The menu was extensive - I chose 1 main course with 1 glass of wine, while my acquaintance chose 2 starters. We finished with coffee Everything tasted very good 😋 😋 😋 The staff were pleasant and service settings 😃 😃 😃 The venue gradually filled up and the noise level increased in pace - obviously a popular place 👍👍👍

I’ll start by saying that the taste and quality of the food was excellent but sadly we were let down by overall service on the day. The waiters seemed to be covering inside and outside of the pub and although the young man that originally took our order was kind and helpful, we never saw him again. We waited a while to receive menus and order our lunch then our roast dinners arrived at different times, quite spaced apart. two were served tepid the other two cold! The pub was busy but on a busy day waiters should be managed better and divided into areas. Instead we were left waiting for menus, food arrival, plates to be cleared, dessert menus etc. when I asked if we could order our desserts, I was told they were busy yet tables around us by 16.00 in the afternoon were empty. I don’t believe I was being unreasonable as I’m not a complainer BUT the service and organisation of service (not the waiter) was abysmal. On top of everything we paid 12.5 % for service, yes this is discretionary but we paid it as the food is good and just maybe the staff were overwhelmed SO I’d give it another try BUT the managers organising service, especially the man who looked very stressed, should be aware to give service otherwise you’ll soon be losing customers.

Surprisingly lovely food on Saturday evening! We had buffalo mozzarella with basil and croutons and it was really delicious, really good the pita bread and humus too. Harvey has been really nice serving us, as well as the other team members, they were great and attentive :) A pub to go back to for pleasant times. However, crowded but not annoying. Just right!

The great thing about the Rising Sun over the past few years has been the wonderful staff. Exemplified by Harvey, who is always friendly, welcoming and professional- keeping it a proper local.

Food was delicious and Harvey was an absolute gem, not only served me pints but served me a fantastically and fairly priced bill. If you want a nice spot to bring a date or a mate, this is the one!

We’ve been to the Rising Sun many times, and it never disappoints! The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, with a great crowd and friendly staff who make you feel right at home. A special mention to Harvey, who always looks after us so well, and to Chef Dennis for consistently making the most incredible pizzas—seriously, they’re some of the best around! Whether it’s a casual drink or a full meal, this place has become one of our go-to spots. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food, great service, and a great vibe.

We loved the look of this pub. Recommended by friends who said it had been revamped. Visited after a walk at Marble Hill and had 2 different pizzas. They were both brilliant. Huge portion size. Our starter was also great, fish scampi. A young man called Eddie looked after us and he is just lovely. Really friendly and attentive.

It was our first visit since the renovation. All the staff were friendly and very attentive. We really liked the renovated interior. The atmosphere was spacious and airy. And I must say, last night I experienced the best fish and chips I have ever eaten in my life! The fish was cooked perfectly, the fries were fantastic, and the sauces were delicious! The portions were quite generous. We will definitely visit again soon to try their pizzas and other options on the menu.

I’m sad to be recommending this as I don’t I want it to become more popular (truly because I want to come back again and again) but truly quotes were “feels like Christmas” - best roast / Sunday food I have had in a long time ❤️

First visit in this pub. Lovely decor and friendly staff. Average pizza though - bit too burnt and not enough flavour. Needs to be sourdough and more traditional recipes like Napolitano, Diavola, etc.

Desde la adquisición por Young's, han subido los precios y cambiado las cervezas. ¡Pero lo más importante es que han arruinado las pizzas! Anoche las pizzas eran horribles, con la masa sin levantar, cruda en el medio. El lugar sonaba como una guardería, con más niños pequeños que adultos.

Had lunch with two friends today at The Rising Sun in Twickenham. A great venue, really friendly staff (we were looked after Sam and Harvey), and the pizzas were phenomenal (highly recommend the Diavola). I'll definitely be back very soon.

Food: I had a quick pizza here a couple of weeks ago and the anchovies flavour was pretty good. I think that the pizza bread was also pretty OK as well.

Pero todos hemos empezado a ir a otro lado. La “comida para niños” es ahora solo un menú para niños. La bebida y el helado ahora es cargable (y para tu información, para evitar un derretimiento en el pub, el helado ahora no tiene cono y no hay aspersión 🤷🏼‍♀️). Pero el GRAN PROBLEMA es lo que le han hecho a las pizzas. El pub construyó su reputación hace años como ‘el pub con las pizzas increíbles’. Young’s parecen decididos a homogeneizar esta sorprendente diferencia en comida barata y sosa. La pizza que pedimos esta noche fue horrible. No hay queja en la cocina, pero los ingredientes con los que están trabajando son terribles. El precioso queso italiano ha sido reemplazado por cheddar (en una pizza? ). La picante salchicha italiana es ahora pepperoni barato. Sabía a queso en tostadas... lo que podríamos haber hecho en casa gratis. Y que, la semana que viene, haremos en casa gratis. El pan con el hummus también era horrible. ¿Qué le has hecho a un lugar increíble con el mejor activo de la ciudad... un horno de pizza? En serio Youngs. Ordenar antes de perder su audiencia apasionada.

Friday night not too busy, As we walked in we walked past the open kitchen with pizza oven. The chef greeted us, He was really friendly and really helpful, offered us menus. We found a table, The bar staff came over. Offered us drinks. really good atmosphere, nice music not too loud. Tried the stonebake pizzas. They were really really nice. Definitely 5 Stars would happily come back.

Stopped by with my SIL and a few of her friends for the pub quiz. The quiz host was excellent. Great beer served by friendly efficient staff. Didn't eat this visit but have previously several times. Would recommend all that I've tried. Reasonable prices for for the area. Nice park over the street. More family friendly than most places over the bridge.

A great pub to drop into for a beer or nine, The Rising Sun offers a touch of country living in the heart of the metropolis that is London, Twickenham to the west and Richmond to the east. A couple of casks on today although, it looks like more are usually on offer. Good selection of keg beers to quench ones thirst. A busy open kitchen sees many a dish heading directly to the famished patrons. A delightful place for a drink or two 😁

Precioso pub, increíble jardín de cerveza. Buen ambiente y tiene elección de bebidas. Ayer hacía mucho sol y decidí sentarme afuera y tomarme un aperol... absolutamente asqueroso! Sin prosecco, sin refresco. Preguntó al camarero si podía añadir al menos Prosecco, le puso una rodaja de limón. Nada de naranja, limón 🤣 shambles defo no estará pidiendo esa bebida allí nunca más. Pero todo lo demás estaba bien.

Revisé el sitio web que mostraba el horario de cocina a partir de las 12. 00 a 21. 00 horas. Fui con un amigo el miércoles 24 de julio a las 7. 30 pm con la esperanza de cenar, pero fue dicho por un barman bastante grosero que acababan de dejar de servir. No hay razón. No recomendado

Came in for a beer and a bite to eat , got told kitchen closed then they served other people and staff ,after twenty min of getting there .

Nos encontramos con un día de partido con hambre en el camino entre Richmond y Twickenham Stadium. Nuestro local de servicio recomendó el Sol Naciente como un pozo - parada para una pizza rápida. El consenso del grupo fue que las pizzas estaban entre las mejores que hemos probado por cualquiera de nosotros - vegetarianos y omnívoros por igual, ¡realmente lo estaban! Mis propios apoyos brillantes van a la Margherita - tomate, fior di latte, parmesano, albahaca (V) , y la Americana - tomate, fior di latte, salchicha pepperoni picante.

We enjoyed the choice of real ales and vodka's finding something to suit both us. The member of staff who served was friendly and had time for a chat. Great place to stop for a few drinks which we were able to drink in the beer garden as the weather was good. The toilets are down a flight of steps but were clean and tidy.

I have not stopped here in over 10 years. Was recommended to check out the Tuesday pizza night. The pies were outstanding. The staff was tremendously kind and accommodating. Thank you all as well for helping me to recover my forgotten Oyster card! This place is legit.

Popped in here for lunch ahead of the Rugby Premiership Final. The Rising Sun was staffed well, with employees who communicated well. The menu was simple but the meals we opted for were done well, served hot and were tasty. There was a good range of drinks. This all led to a wholesome family atmosphere. We will return. 😁

Happened to be in Twickenham. Went to Rising Sun years ago and decided to go for lunch. Not impressed. Fish put on plate upside down. Peas were hard. Chips were nothing special. Sunday lunch wasn’t mentioned which I spotted on this website in the menu but not on the menu we were given. Wouldn’t go again

The food was alright - but nothing special. The service was terrible, at first the waiter didn’t even put in the food order for one of the party and the food they didn’t wasn’t all correct - nothing taken off the bill as an apology for their mistake (it wasn’t even busy so not sure how this happened) I would probably avoid due to the price and service, much better in the area Staff too busy chatting and having smoke breaks to care about customers

This spot used to be great, so when it was suggested we go for a quick burger( or two) and a pizza after a walk in the park I was looking forward to it. Never again! No real service to speak of… had to ask for everything twice including cutlery once the food had been just sitting there for over ten minutes ! They also served one burger first, then a pizza ten minutes later, then a burger. Ie the majority of food was cold by now. As for the food - what a disappointment The burgers were all wrong and the driest I have ever ever had - just burnt. How is it possible to so mess up an order of two cheeseburgers with bacon and instead serve two bone dry burger patties with nothing else on the burnt burger bun but a wedge of old lettuce ?? Who when someone asks if their extremely sloppy pizza can be boxed up by the wait staff to maybe take away instead just throws a pizza box on the table and then walks away ?? Seriously what a dismal attempt of a restaurant. We left as soon as we could. No point in complaining when the staff spent more time chatting to each other than ever serving paying customers. Won’t be back .. and that’s a sham as it could be great and deserves far better.

The genuine Italian pizza offered a delightful culinary experience, truly capturing the essence of traditional flavors. The ambiance of the establishment added to the charm, making it a delightful spot for dining. However, the service did not meet the same high standards, detracting from the overall experience. I had to wait for thirty minutes after placing my food order. It was evident that one of the chefs was not familiar with food hygiene principles, as he was observed repeatedly touching his hair and then handling the food without washing his hands.

Huge portions for their Sunday roast (I was unable to finish it -- which is a first)! especially given the low cost. The pizza looked good, too. Staff were nice, and service was decent. Would return.

A busy service and no table service to speak of. Had to ask menus, for the bench to be dried - it wasn't, despite saying it would be. Ordered at the bar. Food came in good time however and was reasonably priced. Overcharged as 'there is a new menu', rectified when we queried it. Definitely lacking service with a smile. Won't return for that reason.

Our favourite local pub. Great freshly cooked pizzas, a good selection of (often local) beer, nice and good value wine by the glass. We love the friendly staff and it's a great place for watching a big sporting occasion too, inside or outside.

We were very well looked after by the staff last night. Delicious pizza and a good selection of drinks. For a party of 18 they gave us a private area and it was perfect for us. We will definitely be coming as a group more often!!

Lovely, cosy local pub. Great selection of beers, great food. Some activities such as quiz nights some evenings. Age range is diverse, family and pet friendly.

Great pizza if you have patience to wait for it. Great spot and atmosphere given the location. Individually staff are friendly, but feels like they’re run off their feet all the time, and that’s reflected in their collective poor attitude and the wait service. Outside area starting to feel run down and drab.

Rudest service I've ever experienced in a pub. Blanked by two bar staff... Not even a hello. So glad there is plenty of choice in the area which are far far friendlier. Drinking meths out of a brown paper bag would be preferable to having the misfortune to visit this unfriendly, soulless place. ETA - after following up, there is an alleged email sent by an "Ed" which I've never received, nor is any other correspondence being answered. What a weird way to run a business.

Sunday lunch time visit with family. Great selection of good quality food covering all our dietary needs. Was busy yet we were still given excellent level of service.
