Popped in for a swift one after going round the garden and up the tor. Friendly staff, great service, okay drinks selection. Didn't have food so can't comment. Seemed like it needed a bit of life pumped into the walls, had a very local village pub vibe in most, very cool fire place in the bar. Would absolutely go back for an evening, get a feel that it can be quite a fun one in here!

Popped in for some pints at the recommendation of our Inn Keeper. A real old world traditional English pub. The ambiance was cozy with the dark woods and old fire place. Unfortunately the bar keep was quite young and didn’t really know much about what she was pouring.

I've visited this pub on various occasions since the 1970s, it hasn't really changed at all, which is good. Back then it was about the only pub which admitted hippies.

I never normally leave reviews on anything, let alone a bad one. However me and my friend got into some difficultly tonight, we had no phones, no money for food or water and no way of getting back home. We popped into this pub as we both desperately needed to use the bathroom, i ask very politely (as i know its frowned upon) to a ginger haired girl if we could use her toilet. She then goes on to say “umm not really” so i explained our situation. She then said “umm not really but their just over there.” Her attitude absolutely stunk of arrogance and stubbornness. She looked at us like we were rodents on the pub floor. We just needed some help and clearly she didn't care. Disgusting behaviour.

I kind of grew up in this pub as a kid. It was my father's regular. I sat and player uno with my son a few days. The 2 younger bar staff members (a young guy with glasses and a girl with cool hair) made us feel so welcome. No so much the older bar lady but cest la vie. See you next year on our annual visit.

Try to cultivate an image of being an alternative and wild pub, but in the evening it is just full of shouty old people. Drinks prices may meet the approval of staycationers from London, who make up a sizeable percentage of the customers, but by local standards they are expensive.

I visit Glastonbury a couple of times a year and have done since 2005, and I have always dropped in on the Rifleman's. My wife and I have loved this place overall, but no longer. The prices have been ramped right up to the ridiculous while the building itself, especially the vintage lavatorial facilities, remain not unlike they would have been when real riflemen served in the British Army. And in response to the owner's defensive response to my earlier criticism, I didn't notice that any decorating had taken place - silly me - but I did notice that my visit to the khazi was the highpoint of my visit.

Well what can a say about this pub, we were camping at a local campsite and decided to call in whilst walking into Glastonbury centre. We were first greeted at the bar by a customer taking back his flat pint of lager undeterred I purchased a pint of bitter only to discover that was the same. Thinking the food has to be better we tried to order a couple of meals only to find out the kitchen had closed at 18.45 on a Friday night. Staff couldn't be bothered about any customers concerns and looked like the wished they where anywhere other than the pub they were in. Give this a wide berth as there's a lot better established pubs in town. 1 out of 10 just because they had toilets.

The Rifleman Arms in Glastonbury is a quaint old English pub with an open fire. We were greeted by Magda, a very plesent, cheerful, friendly, young lass who offered advice on the drinks available. We sat in the 'Old Farts Corner", but were advised that the locals were due to be seated at 3pm, so we advised we would only be there for a while (1pm). We chatted with a chap behind the bar, who was plesent enough, until Mandy came in..... God she was so rude and abrasive and basically upset not only us but Magda as well! We had Sunday roasts, we were really hungry so.it was mostly edible but the child's chicken was like little Scraps of chicken, the Yorkshire pudding I had was only half baked so was completely raw from middle down. The beef was really fatty and tough. The vegetables were so overcooked and so salty. They told us the kitchen was tiny and that 11 roasts was too many to get out at the same time, so I wish the didn't take our booking in the first place. Sorry but I do not recommend for Sunday food.

The pub has become very noisy, with loud patrons. There is a rude member of staff who always seems to moan at customers, we waited 20 min to be served a drink and then she proceeded to moan about the the order because the drink takes too long to draw. We attended the long standing folk night twice, the music is fantastic, sadly the said member of staff seemed each time to be quite hateful of the music, making rude comments and and was even reluctant to turn the jukebox off. We love this pub very much and hope the staff will realise that this will drive patrons away.
