The Restaurant at the Kirklands in Perth & Kinross

Visited today for the first time today and thought the food was excellent and service was outstanding. We have quite high standards so it's always a pleasant surprise to go somewhere that meets them!

Had a fabulous meal. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, helping with choosing our desserts. Can't wait to have another birthday meal so we can have the experience again. Relaxing and pleasant surroundings.

The menu was what attracted us. Having looked at what was available elsewhere I=in Kinross this menu offered more variety. The food was good and the service attentive. However, considering we have been in lockdown for so long it did not look as if any time had been spent upgrading the decor, soft furnishings or the toilets! The restaurant decor was bland to say the least and looking tired. The toilets cisterns were running and one was not working (there was only 2!)

Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Beautifully presented. I might go back tomorrow to have it again!

Fabulous Sunday lunch with family. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially with our excitable toddler. Food was great and great value for money. Will definitely come back and recommend.

We had a very enjoyable family lunch in this lovely hotel. The food was delicious and the dining room was newly decorated to a high standard. All very clean . Staff were very friendly and helpful. Also there were lots of gluten free choices,even fish and chips. Looking forward to returning soon.

2nd visit here in 18 months - previously impressed with friendly happy staff - post lock down even better! Anthony and Shona the owners run a happy efficient ship here and that shows in their staffs smiling attitude and service. Nothing is too much trouble - from the welcome to the goodbye you’ll be made to feel comfortable happy and in these Covid 19 days very safe! If you are staying in theB &B breakfast will not disappoint you! Evening meals in the restaurant are lovely and there is a wide variety of choice. Looking forward to going back in the future when visiting family and friends in Edinburgh and Perth.

Stoped for lunch - best to reserve ,we got in at short notice .staff very friendly and efficient and all safety measures were being employed.Food very good ,recommend fish burgers- all ingredients seemed very fresh

We went for dinner at the Kirkland early August and despite the necessary precautions for Covid-19 the restaurant staff were really accommodating (especially as we took a dog with us). We felt like they took health and safety seriously, without letting it ruin the experience.The food was prompt, delicious and so reasonably priced given how tasty it was. The member of service staff was really lovely. Will be going again!

Opted for the bacon, black pudding and caramelised onion chutney on chargrilled bloomer (rather than my usual soup). Wonderful - crispy bacon with perfectly cooked black pudding and sweet chutney. Have been telling everyone how good it was!

Have done review under hotel. Oops but it says it all and we will return in future, used to go regularly but have been going into dunfermline for curry.

My partner and I visited for dinner while on a weekend break in Kinross. The Restaurant was a highlight - they offer traditional dishes that are delicious and filling. The bar also offers a great selection of drinks and excellent cocktails. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

The Kirklands Hotel restaurant was an excellent choice for our carpet bowls club’s pre-Christmas lunch. The food was excellent, the staff and service second-to-none and surroundings very seasonal. Everyone, without exception enjoyed the food and said they would go back another time. Well done everyone at Kirklands Hotel Restaurant! And thank you.

My wife and I just popped into the Kirklands for lunch Totally unplanned. The atmosphere was so relaxed and festive. We opted for the Christmas lunch, which was £23 for three courses. The chicken skewers I chose as starter we're marinated perfectly, delicious. Turkey piping hot, perfect , it all just made Christmas Eve special, as the service and food was Excellent.

Ladies that lunch. Popped in for a soup and sandwich with my friend. Two soups to choose from and many different sandwiches. I went with toasted vegetarian haggis and onion sandwich on white with spicy carrot soup. Both were yummy. Sandwich came with salad and crisps. Servicing staff was very positive and cheery. Highly recommend

Popped in for a light lunch and were able to order small portions which was ideal. I had the fish and chips and it was delicious husband had the chicken and chorizo salad. Staff very friendly. Service was fine as we were in no rush. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Fabulous surroundings and atmosphere. Staff were most attentive sprinkled with a little humour.Food was beautifully presented and the "small" portion of roast beef was delicious, the home made Yorkshire pub and gravy was superb. Fantastic value and quality Would thoroughly recommend and we will most definitely be back.

Stayed here for 2 nights in the hotel. Booked the family room and was seriously impressed with the size and cleanliness. The staff were so friendly especially the cleaner who we met a couple of times during our stay. Very accomodating hotel. The breakfast was the best I have ever had. Definately recommend staying here if you're ever in Kinross.

Had lunch here today. Absolutely incredible service. They held a portion of brisket for me when I phoned to book. From arrival to leaving the service we received was so attentive, but not in any way intrusive. It was our first visit with our baby and it definitely won't be our last. Probably should mention that the Brisket was delicious and my husband loved his Philly steak. Top class

We received a warm welcome by staff who advised they were currently quiet so feel free to pick our table. We choose a table by the window in the restaurant which was very comfortable and stylish. The staff were very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. We had mushroom brusetta for starters which was very tasty and well presented. The roast of the day was pork which again was very good and beautifully presented. The vegetables were varied eg broccoli, cauliflower, parsnip etc and still had a "bite" which is so much better than over cooked vgetables. We did not manage a dessert. Highly recommend and will most definitely return.

Had an evening meal with friends, the proportions were very large for the mains, I struggled and unfortunately I never finished fish & chips, the staff were very attentive and courteous, the prices are fantastic too.

Have been here in the recent past with my partner, my friends on a separate occasion and most recently I brought my dad for Father's Day and every time the food has been amazing, and the staff efficient and friendly. Love the decor, love the atmosphere and love the menu choices.

Met up with family here and had a wonderful meal in a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Food was top class, as were the cocktails. Would definitely recommend 10/10

Kirklands has always a nice relaxed atmosphere where the staff are attentive, the food is good and most reasonably priced and there's often to be found that little unexepected something different on the menu - like Persian Chicken Curry!

We stumbled on this restaurant when we arrived early for our visit to Loch Leven Castle. We were pleasantly surprised at the service, decor, ambience, and menu which were very good and we'd easily return if back in the area. Thoroughly recommended

Enjoyed a nice dinner with family. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was excellent. Portions were a bit on the large side but didn't feel completely stuffed. We still had enough room for the fantastic eton mess and sticky toffee pudding (which we shared). Well worth a visit if you are looking for a really nice dinner in the Kinross area.

staying in this hotel we decided to have our first evening meal here and didn't regret it. my daughter had a salad with a lovely big filet of fish and i had the mexican chicken skewers which were just spicy enough an complemented by some lovely veggies. desserts were equally tasty as was the wine.

This place used to be good but it is only being carried by its reputation.

This hotel is our go to choice in Kinross, the service is always very friendly, food is excellent, good choice on the menu, great cocktails and drinks menu. Good atmosphere at the weekends with the bar very much enjoyed by locals of all ages. Nice sheltered beer garden too. My husband and I always really enjoy our visits to the hotel.

We attended a meeting and had been given a choice of 3 main courses, and all 3 were very good, unlike the previous time we had been there,and none of the meals were anything to write home about. The staff as well were very pleasent this time.

Stopped in here by chance as we were looking for food before heading to the airport. We called in and ordered 3 roast lunches and an omelette. All 3 roast lunches were probably the best roast dinners we have had in a long time if not ever. The jus/gravy on the roast was amazing and all the vegetables and potatoes were also cooked to perfection! The omelette was also very tasty. We would definitely recommend this restaurant!! We will definitely be back next time we are in Scotland.

A wide choice of food that brings refreshing change from predictable ‘pub grub’.

It's such a pleasant change to chance upon a small town hotel that has made an effort to raise its game well above the mediocrity that tends to dog these establishments. The Cliffords present an interesting and varied menu and we both really enjoyed the curried lamb which was nicely presented and looked appetising which of course is half the battle. I was impressed by the variety in the wine list and also by the fact that so many decent wines were offered by the glass.The Kirklands doesn't jump out at you as you drive by but lt's definitely worth stopping to enjoy first class food and charming service.

We recently had lunch with friends at this restaurant, which was surprisingly good. The service was very good, and the menu had a great selection of starters, main courses and desserts. The food was delicious, well presented and reasonably priced.

We visited for lunch and had called ahead to book a table. We had two babies and two toddlers with us, when we arrived we were greeted very warmly and shown to a table that was already set up with high chairs and in the perfect spot to have a couple of buggys parked. The waitress was so good to the kids and made a big effort. The food was outstanding and she had even brought out little cold plates so that we could cool the kids macaroni and also some kid friendly cutlery. We didn't have to make any special requests at all she was just fab and always a step ahead of us. Can't wait to come back next time we visit.

I was staying at this hotel and ended up breaking my personal rule to eat in as many places as possible when in a town. The food was that good.

I have eaten here a few times now and yet to have a bad experience. The menu changes every now and then but keeps the favourites. Bar snacks are growing now and very welcome to accompany and excellent cocktail list. Lovely decor and spacious dining area. Great service too.

The restaurant is very nicely decorated and clean. Staff is friendly and polite although the service could be a little faster. I had the mushroom burger with goats cheese which I did not entirely enjoy. The proportions were off - too much cheese, too much onion (which was not listed on the menu), the mushroom was on the small size and the bun was dry and crumbled apart making it impossible to eat without using a knife and fork. The skinny fries were very good. The waitress said that the menu was new and she'd pass along my suggestion that the onion should be included on the menu description.

We had a good meal at the Kirklands. There is a great choice of steak and burgers. Starters are simple but nice. Not many fish choice though. Staff is very good and efficient. Wine and cocktails list more than decent. An enjoyable evening.

We eat in the bar. Celebrating a 50th & 60th Birthday we went out to lunch even with the snow.

Great food and place brilliantly hosted by attentive and interested staff--regular visitor and would have no hesitation in recommending a visit for food or just to try their extensive Drinks list!!

Popped in here and while didn't have a booking managed to squeeze us in on a v busy Fri evening. Great friendly staff, chatty. Had great steaks in fact second only to my all time favourite buffalo grill in Edinburgh. Great choice of drinks cocktails and wines at great prices, was so good had to return on the Saturday

Our third and last night in Kinross, we alighted on the delightful Kirklands Hotel just down the road from where we were staying.

Usually I am very pleased with the food served here but this time I ordered the lamb curry. It tasted ok but only had about four small bits of lamb in a bowl of sauce. I did complain but I don't think any cared about it. Next time if I go I will check what lies beneath before I start !

had a meal here with my brother family and the food was spot on. Had a few drinks in the bar side and the beer was one of the best I have tasted. Very well run and would will be going again next time I am in Kinross.

Had dinner last night and again very impressed with the service and flexibility offered when choosing from a great menu.The drinks list, now offering all wines by the glass is a great idea and with a cocktail list to match, get your taxi ordered in advance.We done to Shona and Anthony and their team for delivery another great night.Perhaps the only reason we live in Kinross, it is that good !

Came here for a meal with some friends and we all thought our meals were fantastic. Service was good too and we didn't wait long for our food, despite big tables of people being in.

the three of us had different meals.My husband the mediterranean stew and it had silverskin onions all through it so they got picked out.So that didn't go down well. i had the lamb curry,the lamb was lovely and tender but the actual curry had a funny taste.The menu didn't have much choice,so it was all very dissapointing .

We visited this restaurant on the first night of our seven night stay in Scotland. The food was excellent; very tasty. Not long after we sat down a party of seven or eight people came in, which spoilt the ambience as they were quiet loud.

Have been in for lunch twice in the last month or so and on both ocassions been seated in the bar area. Food great, service great and overall 1st class.

Staying in Kinross for a couple of nights we visited the Kirkland for dinner. Not sure what to expect when in a strange town we thought "why not". I have to say, we were not disappointed. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcome. The girls were all happy to help and seemed to enjoy being there, which I know can be a huge task when dealing with the public, especially when they are eating. Lindsay in particular stood out due to her genuinely warm approach. The food was exceptional and not overly priced. It was actually hard to chose from the menu as it all sounded so good. We sampled a couple of their signature gin cocktails which were the perfect end to a lovely meal. We would highly recommend The Kirkland for a visit if you want good food while visitng Kinross.

Visited here on Saturday night for a relaxing drink before dinner with family at another Kinross establishment ( not booked by us). They have a great gin menu ( I had a rhubarb gin and prosecco which was lovely and light) and cocktail menu and bar nibbles too. Lovely comfy sofa, in the bar area which is lovely. I do like the decor and ambiance and the staff are alway top notch. It's a nice grown up place for a drink, they bring it to your table and you pay the bill at the end, which I really appreciate ( not having to go up every time to pay and order). Will be returning to eat here no doubt soon, as the sight of the lovely food arriving at other tables made our mouths water.

We were staying in Kinross for couple of nights and didn't fancy eating in our hotel so took a chance on this place which, to be honest didn't look all that wonderful from the outside - it's true what they say, 'you shouldn't judge a book by its cover'!I had a lamb curry, my daughter had a burger with caramelized red onion and brie. Both were delicious. The staff were a delight: friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Food plus 2 glass of wine and 1 gin and tonic came to just over £40. Would I go back? Definitely!

A well set out and pleasant place for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Food is of a high standard and well presented as are all the staff. Would not hesitate to recommend.

This was simply a wonderful place to have a nice meal. Thank you for a lovely meal when I was in the area with my mum. The smaller portion suggested by the waitress suited my mum and we enjoyed the quality and quantity of the food. Hope to be in the area again!

We often enjoy an evening meal in the Kirklands Restaurant but this time we had a fabulous lunch in the bar area. As always delighted with the service and quality of the food. Advise booking to ensure you get a table.

Have given this resturant 5 stars before for the evening meal. However lunch proved to be a little different. Service and surroundings remained impeccable. The blade steak offered was very tough for all those in the party that ordered it and the chicken breast burger was quite thin,in pieces and slid all over the bun in an excess of relish. Truffle oil and parmesan chips had to go back for the truffle oil to be added. Starters and desserts remained excellent. So a mixed bag this time, perhaps the chefs day off.

We regularly eat here and always get treated really well. The menu changes often and is always full of goodies from fresh fish to mega burgers and steaks. The sweet potato fries are a must! There's a great beer garden out the back as well so get there early for a nice cocktail or local beer in the well sheltered sun! Kid friendly, well priced, great staff and a very pleasant environment to eat.

Our third meal at the Kirklands Hotel did not disappoint us. We were in a group of 24 adults and had pre-ordered from a set menu. My choice was steak and ale pie served with (slightly too watery) mashed potato, french beans and carrots. The gravy had been oversalted for my taste but otherwise the quality of the locally sourced meat was very good for the price. My wife's choise was macaroni cheese accompanied by toasted garlic bread - which she enjoyed.

Staff very friendly & helpful. Food was very very good, breakfast was a bit greasy and we didn't get any toast till after we had finished , but no drama. Room was basic, clean, good working proper shower, comfy bed , nice quiet location with limited parking, beautiful surroundings views.

Having spent a great week with family in Scotland we decided to end the week with a nice meal. We booked at short notice but they were able to accommodate us. The staff were really pleasant, the food came quickly despite it being quite busy. We had the sea bass, beef and Kashmiri amb curry. The food was hot, very tasty and well cooked although the curry was not a traditional Kashmiri it was very nice. The service was very good and overall it was good value for the money. I would certainly recommend it.

The Kirklands is a great venue with updated decor and very good service and serves a good bistro style menu in a relax style.Although we do not visit as often as previously, this in no way reflects in the quality of the food or service. It is simply due to a move in the menu they now offer which I would say is a more relaxed bistro style at a slightly lower cost than previously being offered a more "fine dining" menu, making it quite unique in Kinross.The service and staff are of a very high standard and always give us the attention we want.

We've stayed at the Kirklands a couple of times but this time our visit was purely for a meal. The bar area has been refurbished since our previous visit and looks really nice.Our party of 4 had a variety of main courses and I loved the fish pie. One person thought the steak was under cooked for what was ordered and the waitress immediately offered to take it back but the offer was declined. The waitress came back a second time just a couple of minutes later to say the chef apologised and offered again to get it corrected. Despite that the steak disappeared from the plate quickly enough :-) The banoffee pavlova was huge. If we'd realised how big, we would have shared one between two.Food at the Kirklands isn't cheap but it is very good value.

Kinross Churches Together (I am the Chair) have an Easter Sunday service by Loch Leven every year and we needed a new venue for coffee & bacon roll after the service. The Kirklands were asked if they could cater for 40 at 8am and they came back with a price per head and all was agreed. It was amazing, a warm welcome, coffee tea & juice on arrival, tables set up with salt, pepper & milk. We had 43 turn up and were all well catered for, egg or bacon or lovely sausage bap and time to warm up with friends or make new friends. Thank you to all The Kirklands staff and I hope we can come back next year.

We arrived here without having booked as the restaurant we had first gone to had no tables.We were delighted to get a table here. The waitresses were very bright, cheery and helpful. We had quite a long wait for our chicken breast (stuffed with cheese and ham) but this was because it was being freshly cooked to perfection. Absolutely worth the wait as it was delicious. One of us had it served with potatoes and one with chips. Both fantastic.Would highly recommend.

It's been many years since we visited here and what a difference. Can't fault the food, the wine, the price, the service or the environment. I can't think of any negatives - keep doing what you are doing! Well done.

We stopped here with my mother-in-law six weeks ago for a sherry. We were so impressed by the friendly staff, the décor and the food that was being served that we decided to take the mother-in-law to lunch. Would have been back a lot sooner but we live down south. Mother-in-law had the small portion of the Mac & Cheese and ate every bit of her meal! She normally only takes two-three bites of anything and then says she has had enough! My husband had the ham/tomato/cheese sandwich and I had the chicken/bacon avocado ... the sandwiches were larger than what we expected and both served with a lovely green salad and crisps. We will definitely be back!

This was a local recommendation and we weren't disappointed. Service was good and the menu had a decent choice. Prices are reasonable. The Classic Beef Burger was well presented and tasty. The Banana Pavlova is not to be missed. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Sunday, but peaceful and relaxing. The bar on the other hand when we left seemed much busier and noisier, so you can take your pick.

Visited for Sunday lunch and had an excellent experience. Menu choice was good for all tastes with a good vegetarian choice. Food arrived quickly and good portion size. Not my first visit and definitely not my last.

We went there for our 35 Year anniversary and it was fantastic, the food, service and location was well worth it. Can be a little pricey for say a lunch but the evening meal is well worth it. Would definitely recommend booking into the restaurant for a very special occasion.
