Great place for coffee and cake especially if you have little ones. Coffee good and best value in the town. Staff always efficient and friendly. Seating inside and out both with good views and the kids have freedom to play. Even got a loyalty card.

The food here is ok but the service is a bit slow. More vegan options would be good in the 21st century. Great views. I won’t visit again until cash is accepted for payment. Not taking cash hits the poorest in society hardest and leads to control and a loss of freedom.

Had a meal in the Quarterdeck Cafe (Has there been a name change) before an evening show. Nice cafe but a little open with general visitor traffic and limited seating, especially near the windows. Decent food and value apart from £3 for a bag of Haribos. Toilets were unlocked which was a first having witnessed in the past these remaining locked for non-cafe users previously which frankly is petty in my opinion. Revisited for breakfast on 27/03/23 and found that great value and well executed.

Stopped for coffee, tea and cake. There was a very small choice of cakes which was disappointing. The coffee was not very nice and so was left. The pre packaged cake was nice although pricy. Also people were using the outside seating to sit and watch their kids on the bouncy castle without buying anything. Staff should be on top of this as must be losing custom on a sunny day.

When the new owner first took over we were hopeful of great things. New beginnings. Sadly after maybe a dozen visits for everything from just coffee to snacks and excusable glitches, we are unlikely to go back. Opening hour changes, cash only then back to cards, poor quality food, and then, the shock of paying £4.25 for a small piece of carrot cake. This though was beaten by the coffee prices. Americano was £2 at first then went up to £2.50, which is on a par with other places but last week went up to £2.90! We checked the menu and saw that milky coffee, ie, latte, was £3.65 The coffee is fairly average def not worth that price. There were quite a lot of things on the menu crossed out. Sorry but sadly we wont be back until we here reports of great improvements

This cafe was closed for a while, but now it's reopened and is a good place to have a coffee. You have to ask for a code for the toilets because the cafe has closed them to passers by. That's made a difference, and they are much cleaner.

This venue is good for morning, lunch and tea bites. There are teacakes, various cakes, biscuits and crisps. Tea, coffee, hot choc, wine and beer are available. Friendly staff one of which was a witch up to Halloween!

Very friendly staff who help whereever they think you need it. The cooked food times aren't useful sometimes because the individual sometimes wants hot food not cold!

Nice place for a coffee and some very welcome hot porridge. Nice sea views from the back of the area and seating outside if the weather is nice.

We had spent some considerable time walking in downtown Ilfracombe on a lovely, sunny day. We fancied ice cream, but had to be leaving the parking soon. Ah, Ice Cream Bars at the Rendezvous Cafe. Just right.

Always look forward to a drink on the terrace here on my M V Balmoral visits. Called in on the afternoon of 1st September. Can't believe that they had to close for the afternoon on one of the busiest weeks of the Summer Season! The one person serving had to have a break, which is fair enough, but come on, sort out your staffing problems. Maybe this place is suffering from the competition from the new Wetherspoon's just over the road. Also, went onto the toilets and came straight back out as the smell was terrible. Won't visit here again, no wonder the Admiral Collingwood Wetherspoon's was packed. Is this place council run? Shame on you if so!

Long wait despite it being quiet. Breakfast was cold, and not particularly good, the toast so dry and hard it was inedible, latte needed copius amounts of sugar to make it drinkable. Maybe we were just unlucky but probably the worst cooked breakfast we have ever had.

It was a miserable wet day on our visit to Ilfracombe and we were looking for somewhere to park and get a drink. This café / Bistro is located at the Landmark theatre and there is convenient car parking on site (don't forget to buy a ticket from the machine). I ordered a skinny Cappuccino for my wife (unusual to be able to find a proper skinny outside the likes of a Costa) and I had a tea. My wife commented upon how good the coffee was and I had a decent cup of tea. We sat by the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bay, watching the activity on and off the water. Very helpful and polite staff. Would definitely return when next in the town.

I have scored The Rendevous 'Average' only because it is a cafe providing an appropriately limited menu , is simply furnished etc. However, that is not a criticism - it is a good honest cafe where food is freshly cooked and the service is welcoming, friendly and efficient. We enjoyed good quality scampi and chips looking at a beautiful sea view before an excellent filmed production of The Winter's Tale. We shall be back!

We recently visited Ilfracombe, and found this welcoming cafe inside the local theatre. It is situated right by the sea and a park, ideal for walking th dogs. There is a small car park and about six disabled parking spaces nearby. After our walk we decided to look for a place to have a cup of tea and were pleasantly surprised that dogs were welcome.access was very good, with fully accessible toilets as well. Tourist info in the same building. We will definitely return next time we visit Ilfracombe.

Called in here on my visits to Ilfracombe by M V Balmoral. It's a nice "buzzy" place and fine if you happen to be alone. Just had a drink and have sat indoors and out on the little terrace. On good days the views of the sea are wonderful. On one occasion I even met "Basil Brush" who was doing an afternoon children's show.It is a great addition to the Ilfracombe scene and I would think it is popular with both visitors and locals. Just one negative is the toilet. I realise it gets a lot of use, but it can be very warm, stuffy and a bit pongy. Seems to need a better ventilation system! That said, I have enjoyed my visits to the Rendezvous this Summer and will certainly be back.

We called in here for coffee, due to its position, offering amazing views. The first thing you notice is the friendly staff who seem to take a real pleasure in their work. We had freshly baked scones and coffee which were great. Not being from the area, we drove through this town in such a stunning coastal position, to see what appeared to be concrete power station cooling towers, which look so out of place. As we got nearer, we realised it was the Landmark Theatre, in which this cafe is situated. Landmark, more like blot on the landscape, but I am sure there were far more words in the press when it was originally built. It you think this building is unusual, drive to the harbour to see the 65' statue of a naked pregnant woman. They certainly have a a different view on what is artistic and attractive in this town. What they seem to overlook is that none of this is needed because it detracts from the spectacular natural rugged, rocky coast.

I live in Ilfracombe and often pop to the Rendevous café. The food is yummy with lots of choice whether you want a breakfast, light lunch or a cream tea! You can't fault the service, the staff are lovely. It's always spotless too. If you sit inside the views are stunning out to the Bristol Channel and in the Summer you can sit outside - it's a great little sun trap. It's ideal for families there is an area inside were children can sit and play or with the bouncy castles out the front when the weather is nice this helps to keep little ones amused! Can't fault this place! Will be visiting again soon!

Visited today with my inlaws and two small children for lunch. Amazing views and nice atmosphere. The food was a let down though. We chose the fish finger baps in floury white rolls for the adults. The fish fingers were over cooked, hard and flavourless. The rolls were brown not white and floury as advertised and weren't served with butter so was a very dry meal. It came with a pot of tartare sauce but we weren't offered any other sauces. The waiter walked off very fast, accidentally kicking my three year olds seat so his tummy hit the table. My children had beans on toast, the toast was burnt. All in all I would probably visit again for a drink to enjoy the atmosphere and view but wouldn't eat there again. It's a shame as it wasn't busy so more care could have been taken with the food. For such a prime location I feel they are missing out as I'm sure others have felt the same as us and haven't revisited.

This cafe has the best sea view in Ilfracombe, whatever the weather. Their coffee has been good on numerous occasions. However, I now realise that this has been because the young man in glasses who makes it knows how to prepare a latte. Sadly the lady who prepared my latte yesterday does not know how over-heating the milk can spoil the coffee. Frankly, I am fed up with the number of places (usually independent outlets) that don't know how to make a good latte. Basically, heat the milk to between 60 and 70 degrees C. Any hotter and a) the milk flavour will be adversely affected b) the coffee flavour will be adversely affected and c) you will have to wait up to 15 minutes to get your mouth near the coffee. Consistency of service delivery is the key to satisfying customers. That is why franchises like Costa do so well. I try to support independents like this cafe where possible but my patience is wearing thin! Manager take please note.
