Called in half an hour before they close to be told we don’t have any chips …. Very poor for a chip shop and I advise you find an alternative

Very disappointed it was a amazing chip shop now I wouldn’t even feed it to my dog, as others has said dark brown batter cold chips greasy disgusting don’t bother isn’t worth the one star but I have to click one……

Disgusting, always bad, employee wrongfully accused of stealing, burned, bad chips

Used twice when stayed for 3 days, fish n chips excellent even though portions were a bit small, slight language barrier problem but ok, well recommended.

Really good food and a great price... but no one spoke English had to ponit on the menu

Portions are too much for a normal adult, go for a kids fish and chips, it’s more than enough and about a fiver a pop.

Did not deserve 1 star worst experience at a fish and chip shop queued up to find out it was cash only then messaged up my order then served 5 other customers that came in after me for no apparent reason. Food was disgusting chips cold and soggy cod was dry and mostly batter pie was frozen in the middle ended up feeling sick after eating this. This used to be the best fish and chip shop around now with it's new owners I suggest you avoid this establishment

Just had fish and chips, well I say fish but it was mostly batter, and dry . Chips were cold, we also had a pie which was stone cold. Never had any problems until it was taken over. So disappointed, won’t be using it again.

Very disappointing in food, service and atmosphere. Food: Chips ain't cooked in a high enough temperature. Soggy and undercooked. Service: Took a very long time for a small order, The person before me had a huge order so I had to wait till they got theirs. Small orders are fulfilled while waiting for the the large order to be ready. The server couldn't of been slower. The prices are extremely high compared to other chip shops. Atmosphere: Very depressing Atmosphere, It once was lively many years ago, Now it has a grey look to the place with marks on the wall that shows where menus were hung up. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

Disgusting to say the least, the chips were well over cooked. When I arrived at the chip shop there was nothing to look at apart from a paper menu the oriental man behind the counter gave me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND AND MOST CERTAINLY WONT BE GOING THERE AGAIN. Yuck! 🤢 🤮

Absolutely awful, just avoid. it wasnt busy but still took 40 minutes to order and recieve food, some food was missing, other food tasted disgusting. Staff dont speak, or apologise for delay, only take cash. The place is very shabby and needs some updating, dont recommend and will never go back which is a shame as it used to be the best chip shop around xx

Very poor food. Not sur what's happened hear was a very good chip shop. I wont be using no moor. Use to work hear was never as bad as it is now. can't believe it. Such a shame

Drastically gone down hill. Used to be delicious chips. Decided to try tonight and no flavour at all. My guess is that they are brought in frozen thin cut chips, not the traditional chip shop chips. To be a fish and chip shop you must stick to the basics of preparing own potatoes through a tumbler and chipper and cook from fresh. No flavour what so ever. My guess in an attempt to save money the chips were served in a paper bag. The curry sauce was ok.

Would liked to have given a 0 star rating. Myself and my husband thought that we would treat ourselves to a chippy tea.Used this shop before it Changed hands and it was always a lovely family business. Last night the battered sausage was so bad even the dog refused it and many chips were black .Today hubby is in bed and I am struggling. For your own health stay away

Grim. Worst fish and chips I’ve ever had in my life. Wet, green and black chips. Suspect the fish was pre-made and warmed up in oil. Had to wait half an hour. Shouldn’t be allowed to operate. Avoid

First time was a treat but tonight it was just plain awful. Double fried chips, dark batter (think oil needs changing or too hot) and raw fish. Totally inedible and ruined a valentines treat. Only got 5 stars for service as the lad on the counter was polite and friendly

This is the worst fish and chip ship I've ever eaten from. Although i didnt have fish i bought a large chips and battered jumbo sausage. The chips:- Large portion for a child and under cooked The battered sausage :- tasteless and cheap, the batter was like an old fashioned condom, absolutely disgusting. No pride in the place, you can see that from the minute you walk in and i should've trusted my gut, not punished it!! Get a grip Regency, this is simple food!!

This used to be a fantastic fish and chip shop. I can only assume its changed hands now and the quality has not just taken a nose dive but it has also splattered on the pavement. Rubbery fish, soggy batter, barely cooked chips, staff with the personality of a gold fish.

I'm sure the food would have been lovely had I had been there, I was however in the laundrette a couple of doors down from there- I'm a little unsure about how to rate a laundrette, clothes were washed to a high standard???

This is the worst FnC shop EVER! When i moved here, 4 years ago it was a busy, friendly business. One of the best chippies in town. Yesterday i had to wait 40 MINUTES for cod n chips. The food is cooked to order so the fish never has time to dry, no crisp batter, chips soggy. 3 people came in after me and but received their order before me. I asked why i had to wait 40 minutes and the reply from the moronic server (complete with numerous facial piercings) was 'the cod had to cook'!🥱 I asked him why people recevied their order before me. He relied 'they did not order cod'. 🤥This was a lie, i clearly heard the couple ask for 2 cod and 1 chips. This guy thinks i am as stupid as he is🤣 Will in the future go to King Edwards🖕

Took around 25 minutes when it wasn’t busy for 2 portions of chips, battered fish and sausage. The chips were so soggy and the fish was just pure water all slimy and the batter wouldn’t even stick to it. The only decent thing was the sausage, curry sauce was all coagulated. Overall worst fish and chips in Weymouth.

How this place allowed to stay open! The chips are disgusting and the so called fish cake was frozen inside! Absolutely awful place.

Unfortunately this has changed hands and gone extremely downhill! Very greasy tasteless chips, and a very strange batter on the fish! And to top it off a measly small portion. Avoid if you can.

Used to be a great chippy until it was taken over and boy has it go e downhill and it seems like the owners don't care if they lose customers or not. They also have changed the menu and why they've taken certain things off that take not too long to cook compared to other things still on menu is puzzling.

What has happened to this fish and chip shop? It used to be great but it’s clearly been sold to people who don’t care. Cold food, raw battered sausages, gloopy overheated curry sauce. We won’t be back which is a shame as we’re very local.

Shocking, the staff were rude, they did not give us everything we ordered then said they had already thrown the receipt away and would look for it even when we showed them the workings out. The food was poor quality and the cod was thrown in the bottom of a takeaway bag under the boxes of chips.

Great portion size food was delightful and good for the price.

First time at this chippy Friday 18th Nov 2022, Party of 12, excellent service .

I visited here last night. No Cod Roe. No cheese and onion fry its. No pasties. Didn't seem to have anything that I asked for. Greasy soggy chips which I discovered when I got home had a vile smell. Offered fish pie (not listed on the menue) which when I opened turned out to be five slithers of cod in batter. The prices were horrendous. I assume that stocks are low due to people not using this place. The server had a child in her arms which she held over the fryer (health and safety issue) whilst serving. I am gasterflabbered. I have no idea what has happened to this place, however, it should be closed down immediately. Avoid at all cost.

Disgusting! Wouldn't go there again for all the money in the world. What a horrendous difference new management makes, so sad. Been coming here for years, used to be one of the best fish and chip shops in the town. What's happened? Went here today and had the worst service ever imaginable. The staff didn't want to be there, the order took ages, and when it arrived it was basically dumped on the counter. To make matters worse the pie wasn't what I ordered. Never again. Disgusting. Avoid.

The sausage gave me food poisoning, batter on my mum and dads fish was partly cooked, and the 2 girls serving were making fun of the elderly man who ordered after us when he walked away.

Came long way to try sadly service was very poor no people skills shown by staff waited long time that would be fine but listening to girl being rude to most customers what's not fine

Has recently changed hands but still fantastic food! Brilliant traditional fish and chips, they are also happy for you to bring your own containers to help reduce waste 😍 Just settling down with the new owners but hopefully it will be as great as it was when Sue owned it 🤗 Best chippie for miles 🐠 yum yum yum

The staff were amazing and excellent fish well cooked and tasty. You must believe this because its the best chip shop in Weymouth.

Brought the chips and fish burger meal, looked and tasted nice but after an hour or so I got terrible stomach pains then the runs then was really sick! Will not be returning!

Horrendous fish and chips me and my other half had last night . Spent today spewing up and shot blasting the toilet. Would advise to stay well clear

Just eaten best fish and chips ever. Lovely fresh fish in crispy batter and chips cooked to perfection, all really tasty and hot. The staff were friendly and polite and the service was quick, all wrapped up nicely and put in a paper carry bag. Well done to them all thankyou

The service is really good and the food was pretty tasty been a couple of times while on holiday definitely a favourite eat for sure.

I am not able to eat an adult size meal, so always get a child portion (still too much for me) freshly cooked to order, had issues in the past with prices and portion sizes, but absolutely spot on now, well done Regency team.

Thin haddock. Grease bomb. Asked for salt and vinegar didn't get any don't recomend, should have returned.

Food's alright, but customer service is rubbish! Chap never even acknowledged that I was in shop until he'd served two other people ( don't mind the waiting so much, if I'm even given a "be with you soon as I can,sir")then insisted in addressing me as "mate".... Most disrespectful, so that'll be the last time they see me.

Warmed up fish from dinner time at 5.45pm. Fish dry and almost inedible. We are locals and have tried Regency for 3 weeks and can tell you that it doesn’t get any better. Go somewhere else.

This is not the first time we've had very poor meals, there's more succulent fish on one fish finger than we had in our 2 cod and chips put together, should have taken it back but we were starving. Wouldn't go again. Cynical to sell food like that for £14...

Chips were ok but portion small. The microwaved pasty was an abomination and barely edible.

Second time we've been there. Chips freshly cooked. The three young lads working there were very polite, service with a smile. Prices reasonable. Would definitely recommend the REGENCY FISH BAR

Literally the best veggie burger of my life! Friendly service and good speed. Good value for money when your in need of a cheeky fish and chips.

Sat 18th August.. I walked in and there were a few customers already inside, I waited for a minute and a young guy asked if everyone had been served, I stepped forward with a £10 note in my hand and was completely ignored.. He literally snapped his head away from me and started talking to his colleagues, it was as though I'd ran over his cat the week before and he couldn't bear to look at me! A customer sat at the window watched it all, hearing me say "looks like they don't want my business" as I walked out the shop. Also, the food seemed very expensive.

Normally great fish and chips....tobight-13th November fish over cooked ,dry and leathery and chips yuk! Some commercial rubbish...nothing hone cooked here ,and paid £6.20 for something fit for a cat! Totally disappointed after years of great quality -Regency you're losing your focus ...

7 cod and 4 portions of chips cooked from fresh at prime time on Good Friday. Great value, excellent food. Delicious.

We use this regularly as our local - prices are in line with others in the area and takeaway food in general; and the food is great.

There is profit and there's profit , waited ages as nothing was cooked . Asked for small cod and chips , large cod and chips and curry sauce , ALMOST £15 !!!!!!! The small cod and chips was like a kids portion What a rip but then Weymouth is very dear for fish & chips. I used to have large cod and chips on a Monday night in expensive part of the country for £4.20 .Never go there again
