We’re regulars. The drink selection and quality is great, and the staff, especially managers Olga and Maria, are welcoming and attentive. The bar is spacious, with nice decor and a great atmosphere, making it perfect for mingling.There’s also a lot of outdoor seating for sunny days. Our guests enjoy it too!

Busy event so challenging night for the staff I’m sure but I got the brunt of a completely unwarranted rude interaction from two guys on the bar which was not excusable and a total downer for the night. Reading the reviews it seems like a regular occurrence too!

Went here for an organised event. Prices were outrageous but the space was good.

Avoid at all costs. The staff are plain rude and do not know how to pour a pint - they keep dipping the tap INSIDE the drinks repeatedly, on purpose!!! Extremely unhygienic and unprofessional. The last two (and final) times me and my colelagues went there, the staff kept moving us around, often contradicting each other and just being absolutely rude. Convenient location, but an absolute trap. Will not be returning ever again.

I've been to the Refinery multiple times as it's convenient for nearby offices I sometimes go to, but after multiple disappointments we've collectively vowed to avoid it in future. Various staff (both bar staff and those 'organising' customers) behave with a sense of real self-importance and it's clear they don't realise how badly they're treating people. We've had a few examples of mild sarcasm from bar staff in the past which was quite unnecessary, but we returned as the location is convenient. On our latest group visit it wasn't overly busy, but there wasn't enough seated space for our party. We were told we were welcome to stand, so we happily ordered drinks and stood chatting near the bar. We were then 'herded' like cattle by a somewhat pretentious member of staff from one place to another. We were then promptly told by a different member of staff that we must not stand where the first staffer had moved us to! When we asked where we should stand, we were told we should go outside! The experience was so offensive, some of our party left the majority of their overpriced drinks and got their coats. So we collectively decided it was time to go elsewhere, and left for a near by pub which gave great service.

Take ages to get table service when I ordered food, again took a long time to clear the table even tho more beverages where ordered.

Went for a birthday drinks and dinner. Highly recommend. Staff is supper helpful friendly and makes sure customers are happy. Food is delicious. Cuddos to manager Maria!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at The Refinery. I am writing this review to share my encounter with the incredibly rude and aggressive staff. I was met with unprofessional behavior. The staff not only failed to greet me well but also made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Their hostile attitude was shocking and completely unacceptable for any establishment, let alone one that claims to provide quality service. I have never encountered such disrespect and lack of basic courtesy. This experience has left a lasting negative impression, and I will not be returning to The Refinery. I strongly advise others to think twice before visiting this place.

really rude staff… unprofessional behaviour .. there was a man who works there who swore at me on Saturday 6th July at around 6pm. Will not be returning even though I am a local! Really disappointing .. would avoid !!

A bit noisy when we first arrived but soon got quieter. Service excellent and food very good.

Olga is the best waitress and her service is super good

Nice restaurant with good vibes and drinks

We recently hosted our engagement party at this amazing venue. My Fiance and I had the best time! The staff, service, and food were faultless. We mainly liaised with Emma Herrity (Events Manager) for the planning and had the most amazing manager on the night of the event (Olga). The team worked so hard to bring our vision to life. We were provided with an incredible food and drinks tasting experience prior to the event and Olga helped us develop a bespoke cocktail menu for our party. I will definitely be hosting our future events at this venue and would certainly recommend it to anyone else who is hoping to have an event there!

My review is based on my recent visit to the Refinery. It would have been my second visit to the venue if the staff hadn't disappointed us. Dressed in our ethnic Eid clothes, my son and I went into town to have a quick Eid lunch with my husband who works in that area. As I had eaten at the Refinery once before, and the food was okay, we opted to have our Eid lunch there. We walked up to the terrace glass door leading into the restaurant, which had a few patrons sitting inside. As it was cold and drizzly, we wanted to enter the establishment to get a table. What we saw were two members of staff chatting away at the register near the glass door, and someone who looked like a 3rd party contractor fixing something at the base of the glass door. Rather than acknowledging our intention to enter, or being receptive to guests, the staff members completely ignored us as we stood on the outside of the door waiting to be seen (bear in mind it's a glass door, they had seen us). Not knowing if there were alternative entrances, we opted to walk into the building and use their internal entrance. However, when we got to that glass door, a member of the kitchen staff just waved us off and told us it was locked and to use the entrance that was being worked on. From experience if anyone's working on fixing something at the threshold at the door, the patron either waits for a member of staff to ask the contractor to temporarily stop to allow the guest in, or provides an alternative entrance. Neither happened and the best part was that they just didn't seem to care. It's my first time experiencing complete disinterest by a bar and restaurant. We left without any further attempts to enter.

I ordered a simple cheeseburger and the meat was perfectly pink! The service was top quality especially the manager who fully entertained us from the beginning. What a great experience to have for the bank Holiday weekend!

First time here, and I enjoyed it so much. The lady and staff were so lovely and accommodating. The music was at a good level enough to hear my conversation and the food and drinks... bravo!

Fantastic spot! I popped in for a late lunch and drinks with a couple of my friends, the food was lovely and I really enjoyed the decor and open space of the venue but something that really stands out there is the service that they provide. Olga, who was serving us gave fantastic recommendations and helped choosing the wine ! I will definitely return for more bottles ! She really made our experience special.

A female member of staff, rudely and abruptly came to our table accusing us of not paying for our drinks. Without giving the chance to reply, she said “either you pay, or we’ll charge the card on the booking”. I went with her to the til and surprise surprise, it turned out that we had paid. We experienced awful customer service at this place. It was almost like she was looking for a problem. No “hello”, no discreteness. This booking was a work team drink, sadly tainted by your staff's poor communication. No further interaction was had from her, no apology to the team she disrupted and accused. Won't be visiting again.

The drinks at the bar are very expensive here. I suspect they add on a service charge as the prices also are all over the place. It's totally wrong to charge a service charge for a drink you're purchasing AT THE BAR. Do the owners really think its acceptable to charge a service charge to POUR a drink? As that's all that is being done.

It’s a little expensive. Worth a treat once in a while, food is always too drawer and so is service. Coke and a burger meal was £30

AVOID!!!! Went today for lunch….it’s open plan and I was innocently watching the chef as he was preparing my husbands burger and was thinking it won’t be long to receive food..,,to my horror he got the box of burgers taking one out ….touched various things in the kitchen and then got a large box of halloumi which was for me and scooped out what he needed….not once washing his hands!!!!! So all the hallumi was covered in raw meat and contaminated! I am vegetarian so was not happy but aside from this there is a serious food hygiene issue and I cannot believe he calls himself a chef. I will be reporting this issue further as this could cause people to become very ill if the restaurant doesn’t take simple food hygiene seriously.,,it’s unbelievable given they have an open kitchen too! The manager who delay with my complaint was so lovely and understanding. Since coming home I feel very unwell despot then remaking my food.

The Refinery Regents Place My son and I popped into this spot for a late lunch around 3 pm. The place was pretty quiet with only two other folks munching away. The staff were taking a break, chomping on their own grub. A young waitress popped over, showed us to a table, then dashed back to finish her break. We ordered up some baked sourdough bread, padron peppers, Chorizo Scotch Egg, beetroot falafel, and for sides, truffle chips and broccoli. The starters were top-notch, absolutely scrumptious! That sourdough was a real winner, and we washed it all down with a cheeky pint of beer. Everything tasted great, but the staff were a bit on the oblivious side. There was this chap clearing wine glasses, clattering tables into place with a racket, completely ignoring us. I reckon he didn't even realize how much of a nuisance he was being. Hey, when you've got such a fab vibe and amazing food, let us savor it in peace, eh? Cheers!

I had a leaving do at the Refinery. The front of house service is really bad and rude. I think her name is Maria (she's to be avoided)

Overpriced and underwhelming food with poor service.

On my first visit to the Refinery at Regents Place this evening I encountered the rudest barman I have ever met. He was condescending and sarcastic with his opening line ‘ Is your face frozen or do you want something?’ This continued throughout the transaction of ordering drinks. After a difficult week, this is not someone you want to have to deal with on a Fri evening, or ever! Will not go back there nor recommend.

Very rude bar staff when it gets busy. Asking for the price of the pints is met with disdain and an attempt at shaming for inquring. Not recommended

Absolutely love this vibey bar! My friend was vibing to their playlist so hard! The ambiance is on point, and the staffs are just as amazing as the drinks. Perfect spot to unwind and enjoy good company. 🍸 Bit loud tho, me and my friend were proper shouting at each other 🤣 but overall amazing experience!

Bartenders don’t know how to prepare drinks nor treat customers

Patronizing bartender, Judgemental and very rude. I never had such experience ever in any place in London. We had an office party and while talking to every other colleague, I realized that it was not me alone but the bartender was rude to evey single person there. In the beginning, we thought he has a different sense of humour but realized it was just bluntly rudeness and judging everyone by their drinks.

Unwelcoming and patronising staff

I would like to say how accommodating Fergal and his team was from 15:40-16:40, (11/09/23) at this beautiful place. I approached Fergal for an odd request and he accepted my request and he dealt with the situation flawlessly. The staff at The Refinery are always friendly and polite and have always treated me well. Just wanted to say how professional the staff are here and it’s hugely appreciated and that is always why I enjoy spending time here. What a great team. Love you all Sam.

Later found a charity donation charge that was silently put on my bill... It's a small charge, but it wasn't mentioned at any point

bar staff comes across as somewhat patronising. please understand the job of a bartender is to serve drinks and not to make clients look silly.

All the small plates we tried were delicious, especially the tempura samphire. The fish finger sandwich was only ok. Service was great. I will be back.

It was a really pleasant experience, the place is spectacular and the atmosphere exquisite, we ordered salmon for dinner and we loved it, we will repeat without a doubt

Bar is great and I love the atmosphere, location, and styling. However, expect to pay up. Pints were around £7 each and I'd imagine other drinks would be more expensive. I can't comment on food as I didn't dine here. Venue should be largely wheelchair accessible - although bathrooms were on the first floor accessible from a flight of stairs. When I was here, the music was too loud and made socialising difficult - although that might've been due to the event that was being hosted at the venue.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience at The Refinery and will not be visiting again. Myself and my husband arrived shortly before 2 large groups of guests. Straight away I noticed that their seemed to be only 1 waiter for the entire restaurant and therefore we waited prolonged periods of time for service. Despite ordering our drinks before the large groups, we recieved ours after they were served which seemed odd. Our starter of sourdough bread came with olive oil but no butter until we had to remind the waiter to bring it for us. Even simple things were forgotten, like my husband got a butter knife but I didn’t. The wait for our main meal was even worse, despite being told by our waiter it would be “20-25 mins” we waited for over 1 hour and finally I had to ask one of the staff to check on what was happening. The large groups had recieved their meals and a table of 2 next to us who also ordered their food at a similar time, had already finished their meal. What made it even worse was that when the food did finally arrive, I got my meal served first and my husband’s came nearly 10-15 mins later which shouldn’t have happened - they should have been served together. On top of that the chicken burger had been soooo overcooked that he couldn’t even bite into or stick a fork in it as it was that hard. The outer coating was almost black and for a minute I even thought they had served a beef burger! The chef appeared to have hidden the error with melted cheese instead of re-firing the burger. It also arrived with no chips which was half of the meal! Although it was quickly rectified (which seemed odd since it had taken over 1 hour to serve a nearly burned hard burger to begin with and it was still missing the additional cheese my husband had ordered so instead he stuck a cold slice of cheese in the burger himself), our whole experience of what could have been a nice meal was ruined. We had come for an overnight visit to london and we had chosen the Refinery as our evening meal which we now thoroughly regret. Although we received an apology and (partial) discount, this was not good enough. It was completely unacceptable, and we should have probably walked out. The restaurant servers and chefs clearly cannot manage large groups with other small tables. It felt that the large groups became a priority over the smaller tables. The Refinery need to look into their service issues as well as what’s going on in the kitchen because it is not up to standard. I will not visit again and definitely not recommend The Refinery to any family and friends.

A pint of beer here is very expensive as it costs £6.70. Compare that to being able to get a pint for £3 in a Weatherspoons or Sam Smiths pub. On the other hand the atmosphere of the bar is modern and sleek, so can still work if you want a nice modern venue to have a drink in. Also the venue and toilets are clean.

A fine modern bar at the base of a tall building. The Refinery is a bright glass encrusted bar close to Warren Street station. I like it. A selection of keg beers is on offer but there is nothing for you cask enthusiasts. Service is bright and welcoming. There is an open kitchen across the back wall. A lively and pleasant place for a drink or something to eat.

Very overpriced menu. I ordered the buttermilk chicken burger (£15.95), but it was very dry and tasteless. I was given a huge piece of chicken but it was missing coating in lots of places.

Amazing place, went there for Valentine dinner with my partner and we absolutely loved it, stunning service and great food. Only thing we didn’t like was a table next to us being extremely rude to the staff, shame on them, not nice to see! Refinery spot on as always!

We had the trio of chips, salted squid, chicken skewers and hallumi chips between 2. They were big portions and were delicious.

The location is nice and convenient, but the food is pretty mediocre.

We had been booked on 14th February evening to celebrate Valentine’s Day, I don’t drink alcohol except some events, and not familiar to all drinks. When I asked them to explain about one of them which I hadn’t seen that brand before , two guys who were at the bar was starting to look each other and laughing. They keep laughing all the time when I was standing there. While we were surviving dinner I called waitress by fingers and one of guys who was at bar came to me and told me angrily don’t use your fingers when you need us. He said we do this to our dogs. Well I am from other culture and don’t know about other cultures. I came and apologized from that lady. As a customer my expectation is they should know the UK is full of ethnicities and they should have behaved calmly. So they didn’t make us our Valentine’s night

For one more time we had a really nice evening at Refinery. Maria is always there, take care of us!

We visited on a Friday evening and were met by incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. The food was good, atmosphere was warm. I must give a special mention to Maria who helped me find my water glass, mayonnaise on my plate and will forever make my espresso’s classy ones

Lovely place with excellent service. Maria made us feel very welcome. Amazing wild mushrooms risotto and great cocktail selection.

A little gem just next to the Regent`s park. Such good vibes. I went there with some friends and we had the best time. The food is delicious and the cocktails are so good. The staff is superb, I will definitely come back! Highly recommended

It's a nice setting - but the main negative point is the staff behind the bar. We had a company event and they were extremely rude which really left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Can't recommend it for events unfortunately.

Throughly enjoyed my experience here. A great place to come and have drinks after work or go out with your friends on a weekend with a nice atmosphere. I would like to personally thank Matt behind the bar for the extremely quick and polite service that was provided. Overall, I will definitely be returning and recommending to my friends and family.

Wow what a night! From start to finish we were treated like royalty! Stefano behind the bar makes the most INCREDIBLE cocktails, Antonio is the best host you could ask for, very attentive, consistently ensuring we were all happy & the food was fabulous! Thank you guys, we will be back!

Went there for a small Christmas party and we were not disappointed! Welcoming staff and caring management. Their bartender Stefano made us some exquisite cocktails, his speciality the Stefanopolitan was a delight to the ladies. So much fun for our first Christmas party in this venue, we will definitely be back throughout the next year!

After a day around the area I stopped by this lovely Restaurant close to Warren Street ,and a what pleasant surprise it was ! Lovely atmosphere ,delicious food and friendly staff ! Highly recommend if you are stopping in the area , I will be back soon !

An excellent venue. I hosted my 30th birthday party and the team exceeded my expectations. Spectacular venue, perfect ambiance, quality food, and the transformation from restaurant to dance floor was smooth and brilliant.

Paid a ridiculous price of £10.50 for a pineapple juice served from a tetra brik by a judgemental bartender. Is not your business to question a customer's choice of not drinking alcohol.
