Wow, what can I say... defo nothing bad about this great old pub/restaurant, it's food or the staff. After a successful day at a TV production show in Olympia we decided to dine at the Princess Louise in Holborn. This brilliant venue never fails to deliver, even if it's just for a pint BUT don't just drink, go upstairs to the restaurant, bag a seat by a window and watch the world bustle by while you wait for your fab food. Lakeisha, Chloe and Lily looked after us so well, considerately and professionally; nothing was too much effort. They were constantly looking after other diners too and, later, drinkers in the downstairs bars. I really like this venue for it's charm, food, service, atmosphere and real ale... and if you're there when the window boxes are in bloom and lit by the sun, well, it's difficult to get up and leave. Thank you ladies, just fantastic. You looked after us how it's meant to be done, you're true ambassadors for the hospitality industry and I'm thrilled to have met you all. Will be back ASAP!!

This pub, a little off the beaten track, is truly original. The most beautiful but also the most extreme, you order at the counter and after paying they bring you exceptional beers that you can choose from a vast selection. The menu is typical of English pubs. On the ground floor there is a series of wooden and glass partitions that divide different rooms. In the center a beautiful clock. They didn't serve us spirits in front of the children, they waited for them to go away with their mother. They don't take reservations from the site. I recommend it if you want to have a real London pub experience. It's not really suitable for children as it's a bit extreme although fish and chips and hamburgers can also be found here. However, my children were fine.

Of the Same Smith pubs I've visited in London (and I've been to quite a few) this one is my favorite. I love the semi-private cubicles around the central bar. A great place to have a private conversation while still enjoying the bustle of a London bar. Service is good, drinks are cold, and pricing is comparatively affordable.

Historic pub in the heart of the city, wooden panelled and cut glass everywhere. Nice and quiet in the day, and gets very busy as the city workers all turn out at the end of the day. Sam Smith's, so good bitter and stout, don't go looking for any modern IPA style beers. I really like it here and try to call in when I am close by.

Been in London for two weeks. This was by far the worst meal of our trip. The chicken schnitzel was a frozen patty dropped into deep frier for two minutes. The chicken breast on the salad was also a frozen piece of meat poorly cooked. It was so tough , it was inedible. And to top it off, even the chips were soggy and mushy. The beer was good, as was the lettuce on the salad. The rest was awful.

The Princess Louise, located in Holborn, is a true gem among London’s historic pubs, offering a charming glimpse into Victorian-era grandeur. Stepping inside feels like stepping back in time, with its stunning interior design that has been lovingly preserved to reflect its 19th-century heritage. The highlight of the pub is its ornate Victorian décor, complete with etched glass panels, intricate tiling, polished wood, and cozy snugs that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The beautifully partitioned booths add a unique touch, giving patrons a sense of privacy while still soaking in the lively pub vibe. Known for its well-kept Samuel Smith’s ales, The Princess Louise delivers both quality and affordability. Whether you’re a fan of a classic pint, a refreshing cider, or something softer, the pub’s selection caters to a wide range of tastes. Its central location makes it a popular choice for both locals and visitors, offering a quintessential British pub experience. Despite its popularity, the atmosphere remains friendly and welcoming, with a mix of after-work crowds, tourists, and those simply looking to enjoy the pub’s historical charm. Whether you’re there for the beautifully restored Victorian interior, a quiet drink in a snug, or just to soak up a piece of London’s rich pub culture, The Princess Louise is a true treasure that embodies the spirit of traditional London pubs.

Typical English pub. I ordered some banger and smash and my wife got a stew pie. It is close to Piccadilly Circus and is an alternative to the thousands of Asian options in London's Chinatown. Came here on Saturday and really enjoyed ourselves. The staff were friendly and helpful, the shop was nicely decorated, and they served some of the nicest fish and chips I’ve ever had. I also enjoyed tasting a deep-fried mars bar, which I’d never seen in person before! The place is obviously more upmarket than a traditional chippy so the prices reflect that, but I’d say the value for money is still excellent.
