The Red Rose in Kettering

I've just ordered a Take Away from Red Rose. The food was still piping hot, plating up at home. The chicken was cooked to perfection 👌. The honey Naan wad absolutely addictive. Friendly. Good value. Amazing food. Highly recommended X

This is my favourite indian restaurant in Kettering.Lovely and friendly owner/ staff, food is very tasty.Peshwar naan is delicious. I don't eat hot spicy food and always go for mild dishes but I'm sure they've got some nice spicy options as well. Tried others but settled on Red Rose because their food really is tasty. I know different people have different tastes, but it's worth trying them if you haven't so far. Their prices are competitive. Thank you Red 🌹.

Always love the food, usually just order to eat at home, but when in the restaurant I always have a great time, the service and food are excellent x

We had a meal at the red rose to see if it was better than my last visit 4 years ago. The food was very nice I had a chicken tikka madras and my wife had a very mild curry which was really nice. The atmosphere is standard for a restaurant and the service was good. The only slight issue is the lack of an alcohol license, you can take your own drink but we did not know this so it was soft drinks only. Would I eat there again, yes…

Very rude and disrespectful behaviour. No sense of respect towards customers.

This was a disappointing visit. I use take out from this restaurent once in a while and never had a problem. So for once, I decide to take friends and family to this place, for them to check it out. Something was off today ,and the owner, normally an amicable guy, wasn't so amicable. In fact we couldnt even order food due to his attitude. He started getting cross with us and started mutttering to himself, banging cuttlery over at the station. We were out in 5 minutes and will never go to this place again. Ruined the evening, left a bad taste all for nothing. Zero customer service, 100 marks on tantrums. Cant rate the food as couldnt order, can only rate the atmosphere and service at a total of zero stars.

There are bad restaurants and then there are idiots who run restaurants. This one is eligible for both categories. Congratulations on winning the Oscar!

Poor customer service. Food delivery dumped on wet floor driver rang bell and left immediately not waiting for door to be answered. Rang to complain and was told this is acceptable practice because of covid!!! Absolutely disgusted cited health & safety regs for food being left on floor told it’s fine it’s in a bag. Also told if no one answered food would be left on floor. Will never use this place again! We were regulars until they got shutdown with no issues, so much for loyal custom and customer always right! Poor very poor.

Love going here, it's never busy, no need to book, but it really should be. The food is excellent and there's plenty of it and the staff are absolutely great.

Fantastic food. Staff were helpful in advising best dishes to choose. Onion Bahji were amazing. It’s take your own alcohol but a very enjoyable evening. Wish we had a Red Rose in Devon!

Me and our partner came here for a meal. Food was good in my opinion but my partner didn't like hers. When the bill came, it was £70 which is the most we have ever paid in an Indian restaurant and that was one soft drink each (alcohol not served). Glass of soft drink £3.70. Royal Bengal is £50 for the same order.

Best authentic Indian cuisine. Enjoed it very much.

This is a really great Indian. All curry's are deliciously balanced and well thought through. I'd encourage trying the Thali which is a great sized meal for a reasonable price! The staff are also very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

It's all ok. Table of 5. Poppadoms, lamb korai, naan and some pilau. It no longer has an alcohol license so byo. Food was fine but not great, portions are smaller than I'm used to but luckily I'd had a big lunch. I'd go back just because it's conveniently located rather than for the experience or food.

Wouldnt order again nan bread not nice chicken madras had no flavour apart from chillies the amount of crease that had came out the boxes of food was unreal and it took nearly 2 hours to come

usually never have an issue getting a takeaway from here, last night was a diffrent story, ordered through uber eats, the food arrived the curry's tasted that burnt they where inedible, contacted resturant for help and was told there's nothing they could do so contact uber, I contacted uber and they have said its down to the restaurant. Have been left out of pocket and hungry now, if I'd of complained when eating in which we do occasionally the issue would of been fixed straight away. Such a shame as usually one of our fave places to have a curry from

Normally a lovely curry from here. However today I got a garlic chicken tikka and the sauce was that burnt I couldn't eat it. Tried ringing but they said there was nothing they could do because we ordered from Uber eats. Now I'm going hungry

Having moved to Kettering recently we went for dinner at the Red Rose Asian Restaurant, Kettering. WHAT A GEM! Excellent service, exquisite food and a wonderful ambiance. Highly recommend a visit. Also impressed with 'bring your own wine/beer. So much better than exorbitant drinks menu. Thank you for a lovely meal and evening. See you again soon.

Opened the bag and took a bite out of the naan bread, was gross and then checked and it had spots of mould all over it. Was really mouldy. Rang up for a refund they told us to just do it through uber. Rest of takeaway smelt weird too. Would not recommend at all. Clearly the reheat gone off stuff.

Visited with my wife and step son. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nice ambience and cosy, although still plenty of room between tables. The food was truly superb and cooked to perfection, piping hot and good sized portions. Very reasonably priced, too. Top marks all round. Thanks, guys.

Just come back from a lovely meal here. Was greeted by an extremely nice fella. Friendly people enjoying their meal and we were seated in a cosy corner. The food was beautiful, large portions and piping hot. Staff were very polite, helpful and friendly. Not expensive either. Will definitely be back to eat here. Thank you for a great night

The food came in the container half empty, when we called the manager he refused to help and he was very rude. The taste of the food was also horrible and it came cold. I do not recommend this place to anyone!!!! Please don’t waste your money

Arrived on Saturday night at 10.20pm to be told that they close at 10.00pm. Website says they close at 1.00am. Very bad attitude from waiter, couldn’t care less! I don’t think they will last much longer.

Usually happy with my meals. This week ordered King Prawns. Thar was there were obviously frozen small prawns. Very disappointing and with out galuce sauce very bland.

Having been to the restaurant many times pre-lockdown, I was very disappointed in the quality of the food I received. The Madras has no heat (a common comment left on just-eat I’ve now found out) and the meat was very tough and 1/3 had to be thrown away. Very disappointed!

Delicious Vegetarian options. Not overly familiar with the area, and especially not takeaways, tried this one as they have a lot of extra veggie options, wasn't disappointed. The paneer Korai and Veg Balti Dhansak were lovely!

I ordered via uber eats. My order said it had arrived and it hadn't so I called red rose. They were arrogant and claimed I needed to take it up with uber eats it wasnt there problem. I'll never order from them again and I'd advise noone else to!

Always first class food. Friendly staff and delivery. Couldn't ask for better. And use proper paneer which is delicious. Always use these. The best.

Ok so it’s yet another takeaway but we did enjoy it! Chicken Jalafrezi with a spicy rice was delicious. We would prefer to eat in but this is better than nothing! Thoroughly enjoyable and arrived 30 minutes quicker than Just Eat suggested.

Was discriminated for not wearing mask or visor, i have Aspergers and have sensory issue's i was wearing the sunflower lanyard and after being told to wear a mask and ignorantly told i can wear a visor i tried to explain my disability but was still told im capable of wearing a visor and then was told to leave the restaurant and wait for my order outside in the cold, never been so shocked in my life...food was appaling too

Lamb was tough. Ordered off special menu, Reaneza curry, food lacked taste. Base curry with onions and mushrooms added in a nut shell. Also no mango chutney with with starter.

Ok now we are back in lockdown we ordered from The Red Rose again. We had some superb takeaways from then in the first lockdown and this was just as good! Seriously spicy Chicken Madras and delivered through Just Eat! Satisfied customer yet again!

Best curry house in Kettering bar its current staffing issues

We ordered a takeaway dish that just tasted very salty with extra dry lamb that seemed to be mutton. Comparing it with other Indian takeaways in the area, this one really isn't good. I won't be ordering again.

I havent been here in a while but previous visits have all been very good with no complaints. However, this time was very disappointing! We opted for the banquet menu; starter, main, side and rice for 11.95. The starters of chicken chat and sheekh kebab were quite tasty and big portions. However the mains werent the best. The bhuna was very bland without a great deal of flavour and the pathia was far from the best ive had. The chicken had a strange texture, possibly processed. Wont be rushing back..

Worst Indian I've ever had, most of it was so oily I couldn't taste anything, the rest was so salty it burnt my tongue. Won't recommend to anyone.

My favourite indian, the vindaloo is amazing, highly recommend.

Had been looking forward so much to a take-away as we hadn't had one for weeks and I'm just so disappointed. Knowing from experience of eating in and their reputation for being the best Indian in Kettering for vegetable dishes, I decide to give the lamb a miss and ordered a vegetable thali. I don't like really spicy or hot dishes but do like there to be some flavour. The vegetable curry, mushroom bhaji and sag aloo was just so bland. There was nothing about it that said Indian food. I'm sure I will go in again once they're open but would not order a takeaway probably. My husband had a madras which he said was fine but didn't really taste of much either. If someone's stockpiling the spices, can they lend some to the Red Rose :)

Been using the Red rose since it first opened mainly for sit down meals , I know there take aways are not usually as good ,however considering they are only doing takeaways at the moment I thought it would be ok . but it was not food was very bland and not good Quality

We have been to the Red Rose many times over the last 4 years. Now, in this strange new world we were delighted to find them supplying takeaways via Just Eat. We are pensioners and have never used Just Eat before but had a little play...it’s easy to use and most importantly it got us a superb takeaway from our favourite Indian. The food was very tasty and every bit as good as we have previously enjoyed inside. It arrived 5 minutes ahead of schedule and was delivered by a very friendly fellow. Our first experience of a takeaway was a very good one! We shall be ordering again.

Food was okay, service was okay but they charged me £2.40 to takeaway my doggie bag...I just spent £30! This is a new one on me.

Okay, food was Luke warm but I was in a large party. I should try it again with less people.

Had a take out and the Food was very VERY oily and bland! There was absolutely no taste and the portion was very small! Had a jalfrezi paneer dish, which had around 7/8 pieces of paneer the rest was just onions and oil! Ordered a pakoda which again dripping of oil. And the popadams had a strange smell, these went straight into the bin. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Prices are also very high - this is with the 10% off take out. Can’t imagine the eat in costs! Stay away.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here with friends recently. Service was relaxed and friendly and efficient and the food was nice too. We all had a curry dish and had no complaints. We know there have been problems here recently but it’s still our favourite Indian in town.

Called in on New Years eve. The food was average and we had to ask for the heating to be turned on.

I visited this evening with an old friend and the service was quick and friendly. The meal was very tasty and fresh. The only criticism I have is when we witnessed the waiter putting fresh clean forks in the tray one dropped on the floor by my foot, I picked this up and gave it to him and he put it straight back in with all the clean forks. This is enough to make me go elsewhere. Having said that our meal was very good.

Been past a couple of times in recent days, notices say it’s ‘Closed until Further Notice’. Hope they’ll be back and running some time soon, always enjoyed my visits.

Having not visited for a while we were looking forward our evening here.How disappointed we were! The staff were unfriendly and seemingly couldn't wait for us to leave. (We were only there until about 9.30 pm)The food was nicely presented but portions were tiny! As an example, the lamb Baltie one of our number ordered contained just three pieces of lamb!The Pathia I ordered was certainly not a Pathia and we realised we all had exactly the same sauce. No need to bother with the menu really!Desperately disappointing.

Great selection of tasty Indian food

Very disappointed as our previous meals here have been great. This time the starters were good but the main meals were very poor. Some of the lamb was inedible and very gristly. The chicken was a very strange and unpleasant texture. This experience was enough to put us off. We won't be returning. What a shame.

Had a takeaway here for the first time as I've heard great things about them. They said delivery about an hour as it was to Rothwell which is fair enough but it came in roughly half an hour, the delivery guy was very kind! The food was piping hot and absolutely gorgeous ! And they gave me a complimentary dish on the house which I find doesn't happen often ! Will definitely order again if they're able to deliver to Rothwell

I had a takeaway on Saturday evening from here. The food was absolutely pathetic, the chicken was inedible, the pakora was disgusting like it was old. I’ve had some random food from Indian takeaways and restaurants in the past but this was just plain intentionally bad, they must have reused sent back food from the restaurant. The shocking thing is that the worst I can do about this disgusting meal is write an honest review. Good luck if you eat there.

Only went here as we had a voucher from Christmas, we arrived without a booking early on a Sunday evening and were seated easily. We ordered a mixed kebab as a starter and I ordered a Gulshan biryani and asked if they could spice it up to a madras heat, they did this no problem. I can honestly say it was the nicest Indian meal I’ve ever had the portions were generous and the service was good as well. My only criticism would be the diet cokes weren’t cold enough. Other than that it was faultless..

I use this little gem of an Indian restaurant regular and always find the staff lovely and welcoming the food is delicious the atmosphere is lovely and the takeaway service equals the sit in food 5*****

Modern décor throughout gives this place a clean and inviting feel as you enter. We tried the mid week banquet menu which although limited, was extremely good, with adequate portions of starter, main and side dishes plus rice or Naan. Wine was reasonably priced and service was prompt and unintrusive. The full a la carte menu is also available if required.

A small Indian restaurant - popular both with us & others - Had both take away & eat in - atmosphere & food good & although service could be better at times you do not notice this as the atmosphere is good
